Liek knew of the threat coming, he knew it had already destroyed a world and ended the lives of countless innocents all for a selfish lust for power and self gratification. But even though he knew all that, his mind could only filter it through the lens of the limited understanding he possessed. His ability to sense ki was limited, so there was no way for him to feel just how strong this threat truly was. Even though he could sense a number of massive powers on the Earth now, he still couldn’t grasp just how much stronger the threat could possibly be compared to those powers. Not when his own grandmother, the strongest person he’d ever known, matched the strongest powers on Earth right now at her maximum power at her peak.
Still, she had explained that the victory against Gar-Ravan had been hard fought and a team effort, requiring all the J Numbers to pool their strength to overcome the power and sheer determination of the extremist. Six powerful warriors, with the support of the Fury Princess, throwing every single last ounce of strength they could muster to overcome the single most powerful Fury alive, and the races greatest military leader. And even then it took them several hours to wear the man down and defeat him.
The teen wondered if the coming threat would be as much of a sore loser as Gar-Ravan had been, using the last of their strength to destroy the planet out of spite. If the fiend was as evil as he had been lead to believe he wouldn’t put it past them to do something so petty.
Which made his own lack of strength all the more frustrating. At this point the boy was genuinely starting to wonder if there was even a point to him even trying to contribute. With the amount of power the strongest people on the planet now had been putting out, he doubted that even if he through all of his power behind an attack he’d even manage to give the threat the equivalent of a stubbed toe. It was all so very demoralising.
Demoralised or not, that wasn’t going to stop him from putting his best foot forward and training his hardest to catch up. Which was why the boy was pushing the absolute limit of what he could do in the air while weighed down by the jacket Opherla had given him. Even weighed down he was still weaving and dodging around at a level of precision most others never even tried to match, his punches and kicks spraying small amounts of crystals as they struck invisible opponents, which in turn burst with small explosions. The crystals wouldn’t help much in an actual fight, maybe just annoy the opponent, but for training? Not only was he pushing his flight control skills while practising his basic martial arts, he was also refining his fine control over Energy Manipulation. If he could take his mastery of these skills further he could add even more of Furiemshinken’s advanced techniques to his repertoire, giving him more options in battle.

As Callion emerged from his intense training session on Planet Yardrat, beads of sweat glistened on his forehead, and a focused yet thoughtful expression adorned his face. The gravity of the impending threat loomed heavily in his mind, and the weight of responsibility pressed down on his shoulders. He decided that the time is right to return to Earth, knowing full well that the time was running out with every passing day. In a manner of seconds, Callion used the Instant Transmission technique from Planet Yardrat and returned to Earth, floating in mid-air, feeling the weight and air of the Earth flowing freely in his lungs again. “Aaaah, it’s good to be home.” Callion said to himself, smiling that he was back to the planet that he had arrived oh so many years ago.
Callion hovered in the air, his Saiyan instincts tingling with the energy emanating from Liek's intense training session. The air crackled with the remnants of power, the small explosions of crystals adding a visual spectacle to the determined display before him. As the Saiyan warrior observed Liek's efforts, his own memories flashed back to the conversation he had with the young fighter through the Astral Projection technique. The urgency in Callion's own voice and the gravity of the impending threat echoed in Callion's very mind. The ominous mention of Changeling Artic, a name that sent shivers down the spine of warriors across the galaxies, fuelled the Saiyan's resolve.
Not to mention with the planet Namek gone along with the destruction of the Namekian Dragonballs, it only meant that the Earth Dragonballs must be protected at ALL Costs.
"Liek," he spoke, his voice resonating with a mixture of determination and concern, as he floated down from the sky, finally meeting the young man face to face, not to mention in the flesh. "Your dedication to training is commendable. The impending danger demands our utmost preparation, and you're not faltering in your efforts. I've witnessed your commitment, seen the fire within you to push beyond your limits. It's that very determination that sets warriors apart. I am very impressed by how far you have come since the last time we talked." He paused, taking a moment to survey the young Hybrid before him. "But remember, strength isn't solely measured by raw power. Your spirit, your resilience in the face of overwhelming odds, that's what defines a true warrior. I've battled foes who appeared insurmountable, yet it was the unyielding will to protect what's dear that fuelled my strength."
Callion's eyes reflected a sense of shared responsibility. "The Changeling Artic poses a threat beyond comprehension, but it's in our unity, our combined resolve, that we'll find the strength to confront this menace. Each warrior, no matter their power level, has a role to play. Your determination, your efforts in refining your skills, they will have their place in this upcoming battle." He offered Liek a reassuring nod. "You're not alone in this. We stand together, shoulder to shoulder, drawing strength from one another. Keep honing your abilities, but also nurture your spirit. It will be our collective will that'll pave the way for our victory."
With a faint yet encouraging smile, Callion conveyed his unwavering belief in Liek's potential. "But enough about that now… How have you been? I can sense your energy alone that you have been pushing yourself rather well… But I think I can push you even further now that I am physically here."

“Callion.” Liek replied with a combination of surprise at his sudden appearance, and nerves at actually meeting the supposedly great man in person. He had heard stories from Roshi about the efforts and length the full-blooded Saiyan had gone to to defend the Earth, even at the cost of his life once. The great old man had spoken with great pride as the Saiyan’s mentor, imparting on the youth hopes that the young man could aspire for the same values and virtues. From what little the youth had learned from his own encounters with Callion it wasn’t all hype, the man certainly held himself up as the benevolent champion others saw him as.
But to Liek there was just things about Callion that irked him. The way the man spoke just came across as pretentious and self-important, like the guy held himself as above everyone else. He didn’t talk like the leader of a band of fighters who came together with a common goal and desire to protect, with different roles and ultimately equals. The older Saiyan sounded like he wanted to be some kind of religious leader; shepherding a flock of devout followers with himself securely at the top and everyone else beneath.
That was the impression Liek was getting, and he didn’t like it one bit.
“If I gave up and ran away or hid in a corner I’d shame everything I stand for.” Liek replied, “I’d shame myself because I showed myself to the world saying I’d be one of it’s defenders. If I ran away at the first sign of trouble I’d just be a hypocrite. I’d shame my Grandmother, and the J Numbers, since I am the Inheritor of the Fury and their legacy. They didn’t cower or run away when they where they stood as five against legions! They fought with everything they had and kept Earth safe!” He clenched and fist and grit his teeth, “I may not carry their blood, and I don’t know when or how it will happen, but how could I face them in Other World if I ran away?”
“Truth be told, I’m terrified.” The teen took a few deep breaths, “There is so much at stake. I don’t know much about Changelings or the Arctic guy, pretty just what you’ve told us. All I know is I can’t bear the thought of innocent people getting hurt…” He paused and looked down before admitting, “Well… that’s not the whole truth. Those innocent lives are a factor, but right now there is a certain person who is more important to me then any of them. The thought of that person getting hurt… I just… I can’t…” Both his fists clenched as frustration and anger at his own weakness, and the love he felt burning in his heart for that person, took hold.
The boy nodded as he took up his stance in the air ready to train. He wanted to go further, to break his limits, to reach heights to great no one could possibly be a threat to all he loved and cherished. With a nodded the boy said, “I’m always up for a sparring match!” He confirmed, “Show me how far I have to go, Old Timer!”

Callion's expression remained composed; his gaze unwavering as Liek voiced his determination mingled with fear. The young Saiyan hybrid’s resolve struck a chord within him, resonating with his own sense of duty and responsibility. However, he also recognized the weight of Liek's emotions, the gravity of his concerns that surpassed mere apprehension for the impending battle.
As Liek readied himself for a sparring match, Callion's behaviour shifted. Without a word, Callion's expression transformed from the faint smile to a focused intensity and anger. He didn't indulge in a lengthy response; actions, in this case, actions spoke louder than words. In an instant, he closed the distance between them, a blur of Saiyan speed that left a gust of wind in its wake. The air around him crackled slightly, a faint aura enveloping his form as he had already assumed a combat-ready stance when Callion got close to Liek. With a sudden burst of an instant, the adult Saiyan aimed a powerful strike at Liek's gut. His intention wasn't to harm but to test the younger warrior's reflexes and readiness.
The strike, though swift and forceful, was carefully controlled. If it connected, it would serve as a reminder of the intensity and gravity of the situation they faced. But it would also be a test of Liek's resolve, a moment to gauge his reflexes and readiness for the battles that lay ahead.
As the strike neared its target, Callion's eyes remained fixed on Liek, his expression unwaveringly serious. If the blow connected, he'd step back slightly, a few feet away, and regard Liek with a solemn yet determined gaze.
"If you want to face Artic, you can't afford hesitation," Callion said, his voice carrying the weight of experience, as well as a rather scary and serious look on his face. "This is but the smallest taste of what will happen should Artic fight you. If you want to go far, you're going to need to fight me with every fibre of your being, as though I am invading this planet." His words were a call to action, a challenge wrapped in guidance, urging Liek to tap into his inner strength and confront the looming threat with unwavering resolve.
The Saiyan's demeanour held a blend of mentorship and challenge, a stern reminder that in the face of an imminent threat, every moment of training counted. The air around them seemed charged with the intensity of the impending battle, and Callion's eyes bore into Liek with a silent expectation, waiting to see how the young warrior would respond. Callion stood there, his gaze piercing, radiating an intensity that seemed to echo the gravitas of the imminent danger. His stance was unwavering, his energy contained yet palpable, exuding a controlled power that demanded attention. There was a deliberate air about him, a sense of purpose in showcasing the ferocity required in the face of an impending threat.
In that moment, he allowed himself to embody the harshness of battle, the unyielding determination necessary to confront adversaries who wouldn't hesitate to destroy everything in their path. His intent wasn't to intimidate but to underline the harsh reality awaiting them. Silence reigned for a brief moment, emphasizing the weight of the situation. The intensity in his eyes didn't waver, holding Liek in a gaze that communicated volumes, urging the young Saiyan to understand the gravity of their upcoming trials.
As the seconds ticked by, the unspoken challenge lingered in the air. It was a demonstration, a fraction of what Liek might face when confronted by the Changeling Artic, a mere hint of the power and resolve he'd need to muster in the face of true danger. Callion's expression remained resolute, a stoic reminder that in the coming conflict, hesitation could mean devastation. He awaited Liek's response, silently urging the young warrior to rise to the occasion, to tap into the depths of his strength and determination, preparing for the battles ahead.
“Get up. So I can destroy you.”
Callion spoke harshly, making him sound like the very monster that was about to arrive, he was playing such a role to test Liek’s resolve and fortitude.

The first move from Callion came without warning or even a wind up. This was not totally unexpected by the boy who was in motion the moment he noticed the subtle shift in the older man’s shoulders. But the he wasn’t able to totally evade the incoming attack. he hadn’t had a sparring partner since his grandmother had passed, and the fundamental flaw of shadow sparring and image training was that the imagined opponent would always act as the individual subconsciously wanted them to. As such when Liek attempted to dodge he moved sluggishly, the fist missing his gut but clipping his side.
The boy winced at the pain from the impact, but didn’t lower his guard or hesitate like one might expect. His grandmother hadn’t been soft in her training. While she had been clear she wouldn’t hit him harder then he could handle, she did hit him hard during training. It was a constant reminder that he was only being hit because he wasn’t moving as well as she knew he could. It had always been a rewarding experience when he could last a whole sparring session without her landing a hit… though she would always up the ante in the next spar.
His attention stuck to Callion’s shoulders, just as he’d been taught by his grandmother, because of one simple reason; no matter the fighting style one used, no matter how much someone trained, no matter the species of the fighter, everyone had two areas that telegraphed their moves and intentions, no matter what. The shoulders and the eyes. It could be subtle, but no matter how anyone moved, their shoulders would always, always, lean into the motion.
But the boy didn’t just evade. That would have been a waste of movement and of opportunity, instead he carried through with his half-failed evasion’s momentum and swung his own fist towards Callion’s face. Unlike the more experienced fighter there was no grand meaning behind the attack, no test, although if was one it was the reminder that every attack was an opportunity for your opponent to counter attack.
While Callion may have been channelling intensity and anger into the sparring match, Liek was doing no such thing. While fear danced in the back of his mind still, in this moment, as the two clashed, his training kicked in and his mind evicted unnecessary emotion from it’s focus. The boy’s expression was one of peace, of calm in the storm, clarity of the moment. He had never sparred while thinking too much, or really planning his moves ahead of time. He’d found it distracting, it was far easier to react to an opponents moves if you didn’t think you knew what moves they would make. That way, when they did something unexpected you weren’t caught by surprise.
Liek had never been prone to anger. For him it was a rare emotion. While other emotions that held relation to anger where common, frustration, agitation, annoyance and the like where common he hardly held to them. The fires of anger and rage found it had to hold purchase on Liek, and the moments when they did catch flame where intense but short lived, a brief explosion that consumed all of it’s fuel in and instant. It was not an emotion he could easily or readily channel for combat. Which was why he’d taken to clearing his mind of emotion and riding the clarity it gave.
He didn’t stop with just his punch however. Not wanting to leave himself open to a counter counter attack the boy generated a small crystal at one of his feet and used the force from the detonation to quickly move away from Callion. As he moved away he threw in a spray of distraction ki blasts and crystals for good measure.

Callion observed the swift exchange, his punch connecting with Liek's side, but the young Saiyan's response was far from passive. As Liek redirected the momentum into a counterattack, aiming for Callion's face, the seasoned warrior's eyes flickered with a hint of approval. The boy displayed a certain level of adaptability, an essential trait for any warrior facing an unpredictable adversary.
The crystal-generated propulsion added another layer to Liek's manoeuvre, creating distance and providing an opportunity for evasive action. Callion smoothly sidestepped the incoming ki blasts and crystals, his movements efficient and precise.
However, a subtle frustration lingered in Callion's expression. Liek's composed demeanour, the absence of visible anger or emotional turmoil, struck a chord with the seasoned warrior. The very clarity Liek exhibited, the ability to keep emotions in check during battle, mirrored a past version of Callion himself before the harsh lessons learned through death and rebirth. "You can keep your emotions in check all you want," Callion spoke, the intensity in his eyes deepening, "but that will not save you from Artic. Deep inside, I know there is an anger in you that is waiting to burst."
The words carried a weight of experience, a reminder that beneath the calm surface, emotions could brew, waiting for the right trigger. Callion did not underestimate the power of controlled anger, the fuel it provided in the heat of battle. His gaze bore into Liek, a silent challenge, urging the young Saiyan to confront and channel the emotions within, for the battles ahead demanded more than just physical prowess. The clash of fists and energy in their sparring session mirrored the impending storm, and Callion awaited Liek's response, sensing the potential for growth in the young warrior.
Callion's expression hardened, the urgency of the impending threat weighing heavily upon him. He extended a hand towards Liek, a gesture of invitation, yet it carried an implicit demand for action.
"I said for you to fight me, boy... NOW FIGHT! GIVE ME EVERYTHING YOU GOT OR ELSE YOUR PLANET IS DOOMED!"
The urgency in his voice resonated with a sense of impending peril, an urgency that transcended their current sparring match. It was not just about testing skills anymore; it was about pushing beyond limits, harnessing every ounce of strength, and preparing for the unimaginable danger looming ahead. Callion's stance remained poised, his eyes fixed on Liek, a seasoned warrior imploring the younger generation to rise to the challenge. The gravity of the situation demanded a ferocity that matched the intensity of the upcoming threat.
With a firm yet urging gaze, Callion motioned once more for Liek to unleash his full potential, to channel the latent power within him. It was a plea and a command, a call to arms that echoed the urgency of the impending conflict, emphasizing that only by pushing beyond their limits could they hope to stand against the looming catastrophe.
Callion's resolve remained unyielding as he launched a volley of ki energy balls toward Liek, the crackling energy streaking through the air in rapid succession. It wasn't a merciless assault but a deliberate challenge, a call to action that demanded a response.
The energy balls arced towards Liek, their intensity a reflection of the urgency in Callion's demeanor. Each burst of energy was a test, an opportunity for the young Saiyan to react, to either evade or retaliate. The intention was clear—to provoke a reaction, to coax out the fighter's innate instincts, to see if Liek could tap into the core of his power, to see if he would unleash the potential lying dormant within him. Callion's eyes remained fixed on Liek, his expression a mix of urgency and determination. There was no malice in his actions, only the pressing need for the young warrior to rise to the challenge and respond with everything he had. It was a test of both skill and resolve, a crucial moment in Liek's training where he had to make a choice—either to retreat or to meet the challenge head-on, for the fate of their world hinged on such decisions in the face of impending danger.

Liek was all to aware that keeping his emotions in check wouldn’t be enough to help him stop a force as destructive and immeasurable by his own reckoning as Artic was. That such a terrible, destructive being could exist absolutely terrified him, especially when he compared the power to destroy worlds with impunity to his own limited ability. He was like a tiny match being faced with the power of the sun, and he knew it. Anger was the absolute last emotion someone like Liek would be feeling at being confronted by something like the situation he was being confronted with. He had said it to Callion, he had told him with all honesty about the suffocating, all consuming fear he felt.
But it made sense that Callion wouldn’t, couldn’t have understood. While Liek had no doubt the older man understood the fear itself, there was no way for him to understand the boy’s fear of letting his emotions run wild. He, himself, had sought to suppress the memories that still plagued him as nightmares. The brief flashes of clarity and images of that one incident that had completely shattered all trust he’d had in himself in the tumultuous months before he became a teenager, when he’d let himself run wild and in rebellious tantrum and blacked out.
All he could remember was a scene of destruction, a portion of his forest home laid to waste. He could remember the heat of fires, the smell of the acrid smoke as it stung his lungs, the sweat on his brow. He could remember the sting of the bruises and cuts his Grandmother had inflicted in her efforts to stop him. He could remember his grandmother’s mournful gaze, the wounds she cradled. Wounds he had inflicted, wounds she never fully recovered from. And equally awful, he remember the sight of the lifeless corpse of the animal friend he’d had for years strewn on the ground, the blood all over… especially vivid was the blood on his hands.
He knew what had done all that, it was the monster lurking within.
Not the ape.
The other one.
The one he never wanted to let out again.
Thus why even as Callion urged him to release his anger he did exactly the opposite, kicking it back down into the depths of his mind and shielding himself with another emotion. He drew up thoughts that would stir up that emotion to drown away the anger. His thought’s turned to Opherla. The girl that had captured his heart both with her beauty and her charm. She shared his hopes on the kind of person he sought to be. He’d seen her at her worst, and through it their bond had grown stronger as he helped her reaffirm her vision of the person she wanted to be. And that was a person he couldn’t help but admire. More then anyone else, or anything else, she was what he wanted to keep safe.
His eyes focused on the oncoming barrage of ki blasts and surmised he had no way to avoid them all. But that didn’t mean he was just going to sit back and defend, instead he charged at the barrage and started weaving, not bothering to entirely avoid the attacks, instead using his hands to divert them from his path as he charged forwards. Then as the gap was closed he grit his teeth and gave one last surge forward coating himself entirely in Ki to try and strike Callion with a Fury Crash.

Callion's features displayed a mix of surprise and calculation as he witnessed Liek's approach. The young Saiyan didn't opt for evasion; instead, he charged head-on, weaving through the barrage of ki blasts with a skillful display of redirection. Callion's smirk of acknowledgment lingered for a moment, recognizing the determination and tactical ingenuity within Liek's approach. However, the seasoned warrior's expression quickly shifted to a frown as Liek coated himself entirely in Ki, propelling himself forward in a fierce assault with the Fury Crash technique. Callion stood his ground, unmoved by the impending impact, his demeanor unwavering as the explosive collision ensued. The clash erupted in a spectacular explosion between the two, a dazzling display of energy that illuminated the space around them. The force of the Fury Crash surged through the air, yet Callion remained motionless, unaffected by the chaos unfolding around him. As the dust settled and the energy dissipated, revealing Callion standing there, seemingly untouched by the explosive force, he regarded Liek with a disappointed tone in his voice. "I seriously do hope that you do not intend to use this technique on the Changeling when he arrives on Earth, boy," Callion spoke with a hint of disappointment. "This also better not be a technique where you just throw your life away."
His words carried a weight of caution and concern. The Fury Crash technique, while formidable, the Saiyan assumed that such a technique being such a close range move - came with risks, and Callion's tone held a warning—a reminder that reckless abandonment might not suffice against a foe as formidable as the Changeling Artic. It was a plea for Liek to understand the importance of strategy and survival in the face of overwhelming odds. In the aftermath of the explosive clash, Callion's eyes remained fixed on Liek, a sense of urgency and seriousness etched onto his features. Without a word, the seasoned warrior moved with sudden swiftness, attempting to close the distance between them. His hand shot out, aiming to grab Liek by the throat with a firm grip. If successful, Callion pulled Liek close, their faces mere inches apart. The intensity in Callion's eyes burned with a focused glare, a gaze that pierced through the moment. "If you do not fight me with the sole intention to kill me, to prove that you have what it takes to stop Artic..." Callion spoke, his voice low and firm... "Then EVERYONE and EVERYTHING you know, will be GONE!" "That includes those who you love most of all!! THEY. WILL. BE. GONE!!" The gravity of his words hung in the air, a dire warning that resonated with the weight of the impending threat. Callion's grip, while firm, held an underlying plea—a desperate call for Liek to grasp the severity of the situation, to understand that the upcoming battle required a level of ferocity and determination that surpassed any previous challenge. Callion's eyes bore into Liek's, a silent challenge and a stark reminder that the fate of not just one life but the lives of those he held dear rested on the decisions made in the face of the looming danger. It was a moment of stark reality, urging Liek to confront the harsh truth that the battles ahead would demand sacrifices and a willingness to go to extremes to protect what mattered most.

It seemed to Liek like Callion had lost sight of a great many things. Maybe it was all the power the man had hidden away? Which, while Liek couldn’t sense it with it being suppressed he could tell the man had simply by the way he moved. Maybe it was because of the threat Arctic posed to everyone on Earth? Maybe it was just plain the older man’s ego? But it was clear that this man was treating the sparring match less as a way to help the youth train and more as a way to… well, Liek wasn’t entirely sure what Callion was going for.
After the clash between his Fury Crash and Callion broke the boy had intended to follow through, but the clashing energy threw off the rhythm he was trying to build and he flubbed his move, taking too long and ended up with a hand around his neck. If he’d had other offensive options he may have used them, but as it stood he only had the Fury Crash to work with. More skills where in the works, but he hadn’t quite got them down yet, not enough to use in a spar, at least.
“You think I don’t know all that?” He growled while gripping at Callion’s hands, “You think I’m not aware that I’m weak? I know damn well that even if I had a year I probably couldn’t get strong enough to beat Arctic.” His brow creased and his eyes showed emotion, but it still wasn’t anger, they where the eyes of a child stressed and terrified out of his mind, “And here’s The Guy, the one everyone looks to, Roshi, Opherla, everyone… the guy they all look up to as a hero, the guy they talk about like he’s a freaking Saint…” He choked for air for a moment, until he managed to form a layer of crystal between Callion’s hand and his neck, and asked, “But you know what I see?” His eyes narrowed as tears formed in the corners, and he managed to shout, “I see a damn scumbag bully who abuses their power!” To emphasis his point he went with the cheapest of cheap shots.
A kick between the legs followed immediately by a flurry of kicks and punches, “Where the hell do you get off?! You act all high and mighty, spouting pretentious bullshit from a pedestal!” He kept wailing away at Callion, not even caring if his attacks where even being effective anymore, though the attacks where not wild, each and every motion was was aimed to either strike at a vital area or to deflect any counter attack from Callion. All the while tears ran down the boy’s face, “You’ve got everyone sucked into your Cult of Personality thinking you’re a hero at heart! But you don’t give a damn, do you?! It’s all just one big act to stroke your damn ego, isn’t it?!” The boy didn’t let up his barrage, physical or verbal, “That’s what’s got you the most upset isn’t it?! Arctic’s coming to kick down your whole house of cards and you can’t stand that a bigger fish is in the pond! So here you are, taking it on a kid!!”

As Liek lashed out, his words filled with frustration and accusations, Callion's smirk widened. The young Saiyan's emotional outburst was precisely what Callion sought. He could feel the anger building within Liek, a tumult of emotions that threatened to overflow.
"Good. He's getting angry. I need to push him a little more further..." Callion thought, his mind calculating the psychological tactics at play.
Liek's emotional barrage continued along with his attacks against the pure-blooded Saiyan, his words cutting through the tension, Callion's smirk widened slightly, a calculated response to the rising emotions. There was a method to the seasoned warrior's apparent cruelty—a calculated push to elicit a specific reaction from the young Saiyan. Callion chuckled, a low, mocking sound that played into the image Liek had painted. The seasoned warrior laughed as if embracing the role of the villain, reveling in the accusations thrown his way.
"Yeah, and what about it?" Callion laughed, the tone a deliberate play into the cruel, villainous act Liek perceived. "I have been using all of you. You, Zaks, Athren, all of you... I've taken quite the delight in seeing all of you needing me."
His words, laced with an edge of malevolence, were designed to provoke. Callion chuckled mockingly as if revelling in the idea of his own manipulative actions, taunting Liek to spur further fury. His words, venom and laden with a cruel amusement, a calculated taunt to incite further rage, taking a notebook of Liari in the most ironic turn of events. Callion took a step back, allowing the blows to land but not showing any true signs of distress. He chuckled again, playing along with the villainous act.
As Liek continued his physical onslaught, Callion feigned a flinch, playing along with the facade of being affected by the barrage of attacks. A chuckle escaped his lips, his demeanour almost relishing the torment he seemed to evoke.
"When Artic is out of the picture, I'll be using the opportunity to wipe you all out... starting with those who believed to be close to me," Callion taunted, his voice carrying a sinister edge. "Including that little Opherla that I took on the date. Imagine her surprise when I rip out her heart..."
The words were intended to incite a reaction, to push Liek further into anger, to test the limits of his emotions. Callion's cruel act was a carefully constructed ruse, a ploy to gauge the young Saiyan's response, to see if he would succumb to the anger and desperation fueling his actions. It was a gamble, a test to see how Liek would react under such intense emotional pressure, a twisted attempt to push the boy to his limits in the name of preparation for the impending threat. Admittedly, it was a dangerous game, a psychological ploy meant to draw out the anger within the young Saiyan hybrid, pushing him to the brink to see how he would respond in the face of apparent betrayal. The truth was, Callion didn't truly mean any of it, but he wanted to see if Liek would take the bait, if he could fuel the fire within the young warrior to push him further.
“Maybe, just maybe I should kill you now and spare everyone the trouble. No one will ever know what happened.”
Callion spoke, opening his palm, readying a ki energy orb at the palm of his hand…

It wasn’t anger then fuelled Liek’s flurry of blows, or perhaps there was a little laced in there? If there was it was all over shadowed by other emotions, rather then the blaze of fury the main thing coursing through his body was the cold grip of fear. He wasn’t revealing this aggression as a result of a surge of rage, but rather as direct result of his fight or flight reflex factoring in that he didn’t really have anywhere to run to, and lashing out in a desperate hope to survive.
Callion was pushing him for a reason, even though the boy had absolutely no idea this was the case. But Callion was misjudging the situation horribly. He sought to anger the boy and in so doing begin to draw out the dormant hidden power dwelling within his Saiyan genes. And perhaps if Liek had been older, or had more experience dealing with actual enemies, his methods may have worked. But Liek was still an inexperienced child, dealing with forces he’d previously thought merely the territory of fiction and fantasy. Even his closest real world context, Ga-Ravan’s attempted invasion of the Earth, hadn’t involved any intent to outright destroy the planet and everything on it.
But even drowning in terror the boy’s mind processed and considered what he saw as he kept his eyes on Callion, even if his vision did blur from the tears, watching for important details and actions. The way the older man was speaking, the spiteful words that spilled from his lips like venom didn’t feel right, they just seemed to lack the natural flow of what he normally said, they took the faintest hint longer to leave his lips then what Liek had previously seen. And there was something off about the flinch he gave, if Liek had been a normal Saiyan he may have missed it, but the part of him that was naturally deceptive, the demon within, noticed it, there was a delay, by the tiniest fraction. Just slightly too long for the flinch to be from the impact.
For Liek it all came together in a moment of clarity. He was simply too weak. No matter how hard he tried he couldn’t catch up, all of his efforts where a waste. It didn’t matter who it was, Arctic, Callion or some other threat. It didn’t matter where that threat came from, it could arrive from the depths of space or from somewhere on the Earth. The suffocating powers he could sense across the world, the ones he didn’t have a name for but Callion would recognise as Liari and Athren. And the familiar, like ABAS and Opherla. It didn’t matter where he cast his senses there where people who could erase him from existence without even noticing he was there.
As all this had been going through the boy’s head his attacks had slowed and lost the weight behind them. But with one final conclusion the last punch could be best described as merely flopping his arm in Callion’s general direction.
The boy hovered in the air, body shaking as tears streamed down his face, softly sobbing.
He knew his limits, as much as the idea of Opherla getting her stung him deeply, he knew if she didn’t stand a chance then any attempt by him was hopeless. “Fine…” The boy sobbed, “What’s the point…” In his mind he was apologising to Opherla over and over for being a useless waste of space who can’t do anything, not even keep a promise, “Go head… not like I could stop you anyway...”

Callion's façade, the villainous act he had been playing, momentarily softened as Liek's attacks weakened and his emotions shifted. A brief flicker of worry etched itself across Callion's face, a fleeting moment of concern that slipped through his façade.
"Seriously, how hard is it to piss off a teenager?" Callion muttered through clenched teeth, his voice laced with frustration. He attempted to snap Liek back to the aggressive stance he had been trying to incite, to stir the rage he sought within the young Saiyan. "You should be angry, furious of my treachery, threatening to kill everyone you love an-" Callion's voice trailed off as he witnessed Liek's tears and sobbing, and the sudden change only fuelled the Saiyan's frustration.
"Crying... And NOW you're crying!? ARE YOU SERIOUS, BOY!?"
Callion's voice grew sharper, the frustration and disappointment evident. His attempts to rile Liek, to push him towards anger, had seemingly backfired. Instead of inciting fury, he witnessed the boy's vulnerability, which only seemed to agitate him further. The Saiyan's face contorted with a mix of anger and disbelief. His plan to provoke Liek's hidden potential had led to an unforeseen outcome. Callion had expected rage, a surge of power, anything but tears.
His frustration mounted, his fists clenched at his sides, struggling to comprehend Liek's reaction. The young warrior's emotional breakdown seemed to infuriate Callion, exacerbating the frustration he felt at his failure to incite the desired response. For a moment, Callion's features softened again, a twinge of concern flashing across his face before he quickly stifled it, resuming his harsh demeanor. The conflicting emotions—worry, frustration, and an intense desire to spur Liek on—battled within him, but his overwhelming anger seemed to override them all.
The sudden shift in Callion's demeanor was palpable, his frustration reaching a boiling point as Liek's despondency grated against his intentions. The young Saiyan's emotional vulnerability seemed to trigger an instinctual response within Callion, a surge of anger that clashed with the Saiyan's efforts to draw out Liek's latent power.
"Kami forbid if Orpherla ever heard you speaking or talking like that!" Callion growled, the intensity in his voice mirroring the rising power within him as he powered up in his base form. His attempt to rally Liek, to push him beyond his current state of despair, took on a ferocious tone.
"STOP CRYING, BOY, AND BE A MAN!" Callion's roar reverberated through the air, his Saiyan instincts nearly causing an imbalance with his attempts to maintain a calmer approach. His words carried the weight of fury and desperation, aimed at goading Liek into action.
"What would your Grandmother say if she was still alive, huh?" Callion's voice lashed out, hitting a raw nerve as he mentioned Liek's deceased grandmother. "Do you think she'd want you to be THIS pathetic!?" As the words left Callion's lips, a sudden realization struck him. He had mentioned Liek's grandmother, a figure who held profound significance in the young Saiyan's life. A revered figure whose absence cast a long shadow over Liek's struggles.
In that moment, Callion's anger faltered, his expression shifting from fury to a sudden recognition of the weight of his words. He had an idea…. One that might just be enough to push the boy towards anger… Callion's fingers pressed against his forehead, and in an instant, he vanished, leaving behind the stunned and tearful Liek. The Saiyan had transported himself to Otherworld, a realm beyond the living, seeking out the spirit of Liek's deceased grandmother. The conversation between them unfolded in a place where time held a different meaning, and Callion pleaded with her to play along, to assist in the effort to draw out the dormant power within her grandson. The Saiyan remained in Otherworld for an unusually extended period, ensuring that his plan was set in motion and that Liek's grandmother was ready to participate in the ruse. As he spoke with her, Callion stressed the importance of the act, emphasizing the need to push Liek to his limits, to awaken the latent potential within him.
With their conversation concluded, Callion once again used his fingers to initiate Instant Transmission, reappearing in the physical realm. However, this time, he was not alone. Beside him stood the spectral figure of Liek's grandmother, her appearance ethereal and otherworldly. Callion gripped the collar of her garment, not too forcefully, but with enough pressure to create a convincing image. The spirit of Liek's grandmother appeared calm and composed, playing her part in the charade that Callion had orchestrated. The air around them seemed charged with an unusual energy, as if the boundary between the living and the afterlife had momentarily blurred.
The Saiyan's eyes bore a mix of determination and urgency as he faced Liek once again, the plan to push the young warrior to his limits taking an unexpected turn with the involvement of a familiar and dearly missed figure. “Say Goodbye to your grandmother, Liek! Here’s a little knowledge that only you will know. Any soul that appears in the living world and dies again, ceases to exist! If I were you boy, this is your only chance to save her!”

The thing with teenage emotions where that they where wild and unpredictable, a grand act could go ignored, the smallest act could mean the world. They could swing from complete jubilation to total devastation so quickly it could give a grown adult physical whiplash. For any other teenager it may have been as simple as finding the right trigger, that one thing that would rile them like no other. But Liek was different from other teenagers, he’d done everything in his power to root out his anger and extinguish it, identifying it as a critical flaw that needed to be exterminated.
So he never did what he had done again.
Even if a part of him wanted to deny it had been him that did it, he couldn’t deny that the blood had been on his hands. That it was his hands that inflicted those wounds, caused that pain and destruction. Took that life. After he’d forced himself to hone up to his role in what happened to himself he’d sought to never allow himself to fall prey to his inner emotions again. A silent promise to never let that side of him hurt anyone else like that again.
So yes, he was serious. He’d rather suffer misery himself then allow others to suffer it by allowing his anger to inflict it.
He wasn’t sure what Opherla could say. He didn’t have enough of an ego to think he could predict such a thing. He didn’t even think he had a gauge on how the girl really felt about him, she’d said she cared and wanted to keep him safe before, but how far did that go? For all he knew she meant as a kid brother. As much as he wanted to hope she meant something more, he didn’t dare set his expectations so high. And even if she disparaged him he would shoulder it with all the other self-doubt and misery, she was free to feel and think whatever she wanted and he had no right to tell her otherwise.
Be a man? What even was a man? He never knew his father, so he was out. The closest he had to an actual role model for what a man was was Roshi. So, that wasn’t exactly high tier. Besides that all he knew where stories of Cay-luum and Rudee, both of whom had passed before he’d come into his grandmother’s care. While they where fine people the fact Liek only knew them by reputation made them more abstract ideas then anything by which define what a man was. By what other was he to measure the definition of a man? Comic book heroes? He wasn’t that delusional. Callion? The guy acting like a complete asshole right now? Never going to happen.
His Grandmother? She never told him what to be or what to do with his life, she had always made sure his life was his to live. There was never any pressure to live up to her legacy, or even to pass on the Furiemshinken. She had always made it clear he could live however he wanted, if he wanted to stay hidden in their home forest forever as a life long hermit, then she was fine with that. If he wanted to never wield his powers again and live a normal, mundane life, that was a choice he was free to make. She had even told him once she would still accept him following the path of a villain if that was the path he chose. He chose to try to become a protector of his own will, and perhaps more then a little bravado, not because of his Grandmother. She would tell him to do as his heart desired…
And then Callion vanished, leaving Liek stunned and confused. Had the man had enough and just left? It seemed unlikely, but not implausible. After all, who would want to waste time on energy on someone so weak?
But before Liek could convince himself of that Callion returned with something, someone in toe that nearly made the boy have a heart attack simply at the sight; his Grandmother Fa Galswith, looking as she had in her prime, her hair dark and full of luster, not the frayed grey he remembered. Her skin smooth and full of life, not wrinkled and blemished. Her body fit and slender, glad in green clothes that conveyed modesty while also allowing free movement, not the gowns or green exercise sweater and pants combo she wore in her senior years. The one part that hadn’t changed where her eyes, the same vibrant yellow filled with gentle caring.
Then Callion’s words hit him like a train. His eyes visibly began to tremble in his sockets as he paled. His limbs trembled as sweat began to visibly form on his forehead. He felt like he was chocking on his own heart as all warmth began to drain from his body. His vision darkened until all he could see was his grandmother, Callion’s hand gripping her.
"...no…"
CRACK!!
Liek grabbed his head and started screaming and howling, his body contorting backwards as he twisted back and forth. Twisting back and forth he ended up curled up facing towards the ground, still screaming so long and loud it could not be good for his lungs or throat, clawing at his own head like he was trying to rip something out… or keep something in.
Fa, Liek’s grandmother just sighed as she looked over at Callion, “I told you this would happen.”
She looked back over at her Grandson who had stopped thrashing and was floating with his arms and legs dangling. Slowly the boy tilted up until the full blooded Saiyan could see his face.
Two crimson eyes stared back.
Two thin crimson lines, looking like tears of blood, ran from the edges of his eyes down his cheeks.
And his lips where twisted into a demented smile.
A moment passed before Liek lunged at Callion. There was no precision in his movements, no more quiet intent like there had been at the start, or even the fierce precision from his earlier outburst. This version of Liek was coming at Callion with a naked intent to kill, not to protect, but purely for the satisfaction of spilling blood.
“All you did was let the Demon out.” Fa explained.

As Callion steadied himself, he was met with an unexpected turn of events. Liek's transformation into a state of uncontrolled rage and malice took Callion by surprise, leaving him momentarily stunned and off-guard. The boy, overcome by a surge of overwhelming emotions and a darker side of his nature, lunged at Callion with an intent that was anything but rational or protective. Indeed, the boy's transformation was not what Callion had expected, and it seemed that he had unleashed a dormant force within Liek that went beyond what the Saiyan had anticipated.
"Get off of me!" Callion grunted as Liek fiercely attacked him, the once-tranquil training area now disrupted by the chaos of their confrontation. The Saiyan warrior was forced to exert himself, using both legs to push the rampaging Liek away, trying to fend off the sudden onslaught. Callion looked at Liek's eyes glowed a deep crimson, and the thin lines resembling tears of blood accentuated the twisted smile on his face. The change in his demeanor was palpable, shifting from a conflicted teenager to a raging force fueled by a dark intent. He lunged at Callion with a feral intensity, driven by the desire to spill blood, and the Saiyan found himself grappling with a force he had inadvertently unleashed.
Recovering from the initial shock, Callion found himself facing Liek's grandmother, who seemed to regard the situation with a sense of resignation. He turned to her, seeking guidance on how to bring Liek back from this frenzied state. "Not quite the False Super Saiyan I was trying to find," Callion muttered, his expression a mix of surprise and realization. "But at least he is fighting with the intention to kill. I can sense the boy being a lot stronger than he was before." Callion said, breathing heavily as he didn’t realise he was going to have an ACTUAL fight on his hands. But now, he needed another plan to help Like to calm down, now with such power has been unveiled..
Turning to the spectral form of Liek's grandmother, Callion asked urgently, "How do I calm him down? Any ideas?" Callion asked, urgency coloring his voice as he struggled to restrain Liek's berserk assault. He recognized Liek's increased strength and the ominous shift in his demeanor, now fueled by the darker forces dwelling within him. The situation had escalated beyond a mere training exercise, and Callion was faced with the challenge of subduing the unleashed darkness within Liek. On one hand, this was all part of the Saiyan’s plan…. Another hand… Well, he didn’t expect this to be slipping out of his grasp.

The elder Saiyan’s attempts to push Liek away didn’t discourage the wild beast the boy had become in the slightest. In this state there was no weapon or tactic off limits or too dishonourable for him to utilise, in fact he didn’t even an understanding of something as complex a concept as honour, even the simple concepts of right and wrong would have been lost on the boy in the moment. All that existed in his mind was the simple all consuming need to kill this being in front of it, to tear their flesh from their bones, to feast on their flesh and drink deeply of their blood.
And the beast was willing to do so by any means necessary.
His feet lashed out, seeking any soft area that would stagger his prey, to make him falter for a lethal strike. His hands clawed and groped, seeking Callion’s face and eyes, the tips of the boy’s fingers glistening with sharp claws made of crystalised ki. Even his mouth was employed as a weapon, snapping at the man’s arms and trying to clamp down and take chunks from them.
“False Super Saiyan. You said something about it back in Other World but I still don’t know what that is.” Fa replied as she hovered nearby. She looked thoughtful before asking, “What exactly is it? And are you sure anger is the only means of attain it?”
She looked over at her grandson with a sad, but accepting look in her eyes. She glanced over at the crystal claws on his fingers for a moment and actually grinned, “Spectacular! He’s managed to master Energy Materialisation enough to do it reflexively? I knew he could do it! Oh, Liek! I’m so proud of you! I can’t wait to tell the others!” She cheered on her grandson despite the situation.
Looking back at Callion as he asked his question she gave him a look that told him in no uncertain terms that he brought this on himself, “I mean, the last time he did this he nearly killed me. And his power was significantly less then it is now, puberty really did him a lot of favours in the power department.” She then smiled a little, “But that was in my old lady body, I’d slowed down a lot by then.”
She thought for a moment, “I honestly don’t know how I managed to calm him down last time. I just fought him off until he was worn out.” She unfolded her arms, “If you want I can intervene and help you. You may not have brought my physical body along for the ride, but I can still channel and Materialise Orgone.”
