“That Furiemshinken of yours sure is something else.” The diminutive old man noted as he observed the young student he’d taken under his wing as the worked his way through a kata. His wizened eyes watching the every move of the youth, seeking wasted motions and flaws in the stances he was using, “I’ve never seen anything like it before.” And that was saying something, the old man had seen so many crazy and fascinating things in his time. After all the adventures of original Z Fighters and even participating in the Tournament of Power himself the old man was pretty much convinced he’d seen just about everything.
Then this boy shows up and starts turning Ki into crystals. Crystals that explode.
It reminded the old man that no matter how old he got there was always something new in the world to learn, something amazing to discover, some new mystery to uncover. Even though he was known as a legendary master, sought after by martial artists of all stripes and calibres seeking his wisdom and training to better themselves, it reminded him that the next generation was always going to push the envelop on what was understood. Martial arts was like a science, ever changing and adapting to new paradigms and knowledge as new discoveries are made.
Just as he had once pushed the boundaries of understood martial arts by inventing the Kamehameha he had no doubt that this boy would find some way to push his Furiemshinken to a level all previous users had never imagined possible. And that conclusion was based on the limited amount of the style the boy could use now.
“Thank you, Master!” Liek replied, not stopping in his motions.
“You said these Fury invaded the Earth? I can’t believe I missed that.” The old man lamented.
“That’s right.” The boy replied, continuing the kata without interruption, “There where only four battles on the surface though; the destruction of the training base, one in North City and two in the mountains near other military targets.” He went silent for a moment as he worked through a particularly fast part of the sequence, “There where two more in orbit before Carolina used her connections to get a ship and take the fight to the Fury home world.”
The old man stroked his beard and sighed, “I very much would have liked to meet such valiant souls.”
The boy gave his teacher a half lidded look with his eyes and countered, “You just want to see the girls in their swim suits…”
“It took me a long time to become a dirty old man!” The ancient martial artist shouted back, “Let me enjoy it!”

As Opherla was training afar off in her own place, she couldn't help but think about Master Roshi during her training. The old master had done her well by teaching her the ways of the most legendary attack Opherla had ever heard of or laid eyes on: The Kamehameha. Opherla was more than grateful for it. To be honest, she hadn't properly thanked the old man for what he had done, nor had she come back to show him her growth. What a bonehead! Roshi would probably LOVE to see her growth! For the old man, that might as well be Opherla's best way of telling him thanks and showing him her appreciation! Quickly halting on her training, Opherla rushed for the Kame House, ready to show Roshi her growth, to show him how far she had come in her journey.
However, as she got closer, she felt the all too familiar power level she had gotten accustomed to feeling during her tenure here on this planet. The power level of Liek. Liek was training under Roshi too, eh? I bet he was prepping himself to learn the Kamehameha. What other move would Opherla learn from the old master other than the Kamehameha? ...Actually, that was a good question! Opherla might need to ask Roshi about some of the moves used by the warriors he knew from his day. Making mental note of that, Opherla would soon acrobatically land on the beaches of the Kame House, which could startle Roshi and Liek. Well, it startled Roshi anyways.
"GAAAAAH! Who, what, where-!?" Roshi exclaimed as the massive wave of power landed, wooshing over him and Liek, when Roshi got back to his feet after falling over from the landing, and proceeded to sit up, before he looked upon Opherla, his eyes widening behind his glasses. "...My oh my... Opherla! Is that you, young lass?" Roshi exclaimed.
"Yep! Hi there Master Roshi!" Opherla waved to the old master in a friendly manner before turning to Liek. "Hi, Liek! I see you decided to train under Roshi as well, huh? Has the old man taught you any good pick up lines yet?" Opherla teased with a wide grin.
"Hey! Just because I'm a dirty old man doesn't mean that's on my mind ALL the time!" Roshi yelled comically at Opherla, before clearing his throat and resuming his posture. "So, have you swung by to learn anything new, Opherla? Or did you just arrive because Liek was here?"
"To be honest, I did come by to see Liek. And I also wanted to ask you something, Master. But that can wait a bit I think." Opherla remarked before looking at Liek. "For right now, you're learning the Kamehameha, right, Liek? If you're having trouble figuring it out, I can show you how I did mine, if you want?" Opherla offered Liek. "As long as you're okay with that, Master Roshi."
"Well, one of the ways for one to learn is by observation I suppose, and I doubt my old bones will be kind to me if I demonstrate. Of course. The decision is left to my student." Roshi declared, turning to Liek. "Well? What say you, boy?"

Liek was indeed caught by surprise by the sudden arrival of Opherla, he’d taken to suppressing his ability to sense ki while training for the expression reason that all the wildly powerful levels of the people far beyond him where sending his stomach spinning. For the sake of his health turning that sense ‘off’ was the wisest course of action. With him ‘deaf’ to the massive powers he was able to focus on the now and what was right in front of him. Which, in turn, meant he could focus more on his training.
When the young woman arrived the boy abandoned his kata and went straight into a defensive stance out of reflex. But the moment he realised who it was he dropped his guard and floated back down to where she and his teacher now stood.
“N-No.” Liek replied with a blush, rubbing the back of his head awkwardly, even tilting to the side slightly in the air, “Not that I’d listen even if he did.” The last remark earning him a cane to the shin.
After rubbing the pain out of his shin the boy replied, “Truth is, Master Roshi hasn’t gotten passed just telling me about it. He’s explained how to gather the ki, condense it and release it.” He traced a line with his left hand from the centre of his torso down his right arm before forming a crystal in his right palm to demonstrate his next point, “I understand the theory well enough, it’s not that much of a leap from what I do with Energy Materialisation. But seeing it in action would definitely help connect the dots.” he grinned, “So I’d love for you to demonstrate!”

Opherla nodded as she heard Liek explain what Roshi had told him about the Kamehameha. Opherla guessed as much that Roshi hadn't gotten that far with Liek just yet. After all, learning such a legendary attack in a mere two week's time leaves a lot of room for things to get left out for the sake of time. Opherla needed to figure out a way to explain this so Liek could understand the importance of this move, as she knew it was just more than condensing and releasing ki. It was so much more than that.
"Condensing and releasing your energy is only part of this technique, Liek." Opherla stated. "Anyone can concentrate and fire ki into any normal ki beam. What truly makes this beam what it is, is a sense of control. Sure, condense and release like other ki beams are part of it. But controlling it to make it a true Kamehameha wave is of utmost importance. It can destroy things, sure, like any other beam of ki. But it can also make the very elements bend around it to its will. You don't see that in any normal ki beam." Opherla stated.
"Eh? Did I teach you that?" Roshi asked with a scratch of his bald head. "Because that was a lot of wisdom coming from someone of your age, Opherla."
"Yeah, Master. You taught me that." Opherla smiled as Roshi's eyes widened behind his glasses.
"I did!? ...Gosh, dementia must be setting in on me... ohhh I'm getting old and I don't like that." Roshi sighed. "Well then, Opherla. Why don't you show him how you do the Kamehameha?"
"Of course Master." Opherla nodded as she turned to the ocean, watching the waves intently, and closing her eyes, recalling the moment she performed this technique the first time, her less mature self having been excited for this very moment... and even now, Opherla was still excited to fire it here in the same spot she fired her first ever one, some months ago. Taking a deep breath, Opherla soon planted her feet to the ground.
Opherla felt the wind blow across her body, just as it had done before when she first fired a Kamehameha, as she shifted her feet to the classic sideways stance, before bringing her hands together, cupped as she drug them to her side, looking at the ocean as it began to stir and roar. A familiar challenger beckoning it to challenge her, as Opherla looked firmly at the waves as they began to grow.
"Ka.... me...." Opherla yelled as Roshi looked in shock to see the waves roaring and rising further, as he looked to see a GIANT wave heading for his house.
"What in the name of Kami!? I've not seen a wave like that in ages!!!" Roshi exclaimed before he looked at the wave, and then looked at Opherla, before he understood what was happening. "...Pay attention well to this moment, Liek. Watch how my former student takes on the elements themselves, and masters them with the might of the Kamehameha! The Turtle Destruction Wave!" Roshi declared, his vigor returning as he watched Opherla.
"Ha.... me....!" Opherla roared as the waves intensified, rushing towards the Kame House in defiance of Opherla's growth! It refused to be tamed! It refused to lay low and let Opherla master it! It would devour her, as the waves did for many unfortunate souls! But Opherla wouldn't have it, glaring fiercely at the rushing wave as the blue energy in her hands exploded, as did her lunar aura, as if demanding the waves recede, but they didn't, they only charged harder! So Opherla would shut them.down!
"HA!!!!!!!!!" Opherla yelled, as she fired the blue beam across the waters, as it carved into the tumultuous waters in front of the wave, before the beam carved the wavs itself, halting it where it stood as her beam traversed through it for a long time, as the wave stood still, having been bested again by the wolf girl who tamed it long ago with her first Kamehameha, having beaten it yet again with her demonstrative Kamehameha, as when the beam halted, for a few more moments the water stayed bowed and apart, as if it was like the scene of Moses parting the Red Sea, before finally, the waters and wave collapsed slowly back into place, calm once again, and defeated by Opherla once again.
Opherla held the pose of the Kamehameha for a fine minute or so, as if she was taking in the nostalgia from her first ever Kamehameha, taking in the fresh scent of the ocean's spray, before she smiled and exit her stance, looking towards Roshi. "Well? How did I do, teacher?"
"Young Opherla. In all my years of training students. Never have I seen such a move that could rival even the mastery Goku had over it... to see you having such capabilities and such potential... it warm's this old man's heart. Thank you, Opherla. Thank you." Roshi remarked, as tears slowly streaked down his cheeks behind his glasses.
"No, Master Roshi. Thank you, for passing on your technique to willing souls like myself and Liek, so we can use it to help the people of Earth." Opherla smiled at.Roshi, before she turned to Liek. "Alright. I've explained and shown you the best way I can, Liek. It's your turn now. Come on. Show me what you can do. Show me YOUR Kamehameha!" Opherla said with vigor and hopefulness, stepping aside to allow Liek to try now.

Opherla had certainly put on a spectacle, that’s for certain. The arrival of the giant wave had certainly been a heck of a coincidence, and to Liek it didn’t seem like a natural swell either. There was no signs of an earthquake to precede a tsunami nor did the wave show a gradual swell over where the shockline of a deep quake would have been. Was there some kind of creature beneath the ocean or some other unnatural event occurring in the depths that caused such massive waves?
Problems for another time.
Regardless of any concerns about natural or unnatural phenomena that may threaten his teacher’s home, the boy’s eyes remained fixed on Opherla the entire time. Watching mesmerised as the girl shrouded herself in that azure light, his gaze committing every line of her form, every motion of her arms, every flick of her ears, ever sway of her tail to memory.
His eyes lingering especially long around her tail region.
Once she was done he could only stare for a long while before breathing, “Beautiful…” But his eyes where not focused on where the beam had been, they remained firmly on the young woman who was the centre of his affections.
Snapping out of his stuppor her shook his head violently, “N-n-n-nevermind!” He muttered loudly before running past Opherla to the edge of the shoreline, his face burning red the whole way. After standing for a moment he bit his lip and looked up towards the horizon. He didn’t think he could pull off anything like she had done, he wasn’t even going to try. But that didn’t mean he wasn’t going to put his all into it.
Gliding into the air with the grace that was, more or less, his signature smoothness he inhaled deeply and thought about what he’d seen and what Roshi had shown him. While the old man never demonstrated the move he had shown the boy the motions, while it seemed that Opherla skipped a few steps. For his first time the boy decided to stick closer to the old man’s original. Exhaling he lifted his right arm into the air and lowered his left before rotating both, hold them both out as far as he could until they had traded places. He then brought them together in front of him, palms forward and fingers cupped, linked at the wrists before rotating them again so the right hand was on top again. He then brought his cupped hands to his right side and began to vocalisation, “Ka…”
The air began to coil around the boy as faint wisps of ki swirled around him, “Me…”
The wind and wisps of ki became more intense as something else joined the swirling energy, at first just a flicker but then brighter and brighter, specks of crystal shining like dust, “Ha…”
The ki and crystals met in his cupped hands and ignited in a shining orb of blue light as the wind, ki and crystals swept his hair and jacket about, “Me…”
The ki and crystals flared into an emerald aura as the boy thrust his hands forward and unleashed the built up energy held within, the azure beam lancing forward towards the horizon.
“HAAA!!!!”
Although not as spectacular Opherla’s feat Liek’s also managed to carve through the waves, though not enough to reveal the sea floor beneath.
Breathing deeply with beads of sweat on his brow the boy lowered himself to the ground and panted. He could already tell he hadn’t got the balance right, which was why he was overly tired from using it just once, but that wasn’t anything a little practice wouldn’t fix. With this one attempt he was already closer to having it down then he had been when trying to do Energy Materialisation for the first time, and back then he’d practically been handed a step-by-step walkthrough.
Looking back he shot Roshi and Opherla a proud grin.

Opherla couldn't help but wonder why Liek was so focused on her after she looked at him once the Kamehameha was finished, but soon heard him say something that brought a blush to her face as well despite being more focused on teaching Liek.
"Beautiful..." she would hear Liek say.
"HUH!?" Opherla exclaimed in shock, eyes wide and blushing as she heard him say that word, as her face became red from what he had said. Only to see Liek dash past her after yelling out nevermind to her, as her eyes widened at the sight, wondering if Liek was going to absolutely run away from her out of embarrassment, but in reality, she made Opherla flustered as well! Roshi could only heartily laugh watching the antics of this, as he laughed for a good while.
"Hey, hey Opherla! I think the boy's got good eyes for beauty!" Roshi laughed as Opherla only blushed even further and covered her face in embarrassment to hide the flustered look from Liek.
"ROSHIIII!!!!" Opherla yelled, wanting to deck the old man for egging on the embarrassment for both the young warriors. Regardless, it seemed Liek got his composure back, so Opherla had to get hers, her face still slightly red as she and Roshi watched Liek rise into the air, and begin to charge the move. Opherla's heart warmed as she watched Liek, not even focusing on the ki he was charging. Though, it was definitely looking right. And it wouldn't be too much longer before he fired it. A blue beam that cut into the waters some, not as much as Opherla's had... but Roshi would triumphantly laugh this time, as if he was proud of the young boy, and Opherla clapped for Liek, her gaze focused solely on him... and his admittedly handsome look, despite not having the bulk of a warrior... but that didn't matter. He had the heart of one. And that's all Opherla cared about.
"Well done, Liek, well done. My first Kamehameha didn't even come close to what you just did." Opherla said with a smile as she beamed at Liek, a small blush on her face as she praised him.
"Indeed. Well done, young Liek. You have learned my most prestigious technique. The Kamehameha." Roshi said proudly. "You should be proud, lad. Very proud. One day, I believe you will forge a Kamehameha that will defeat mighty waves, just as Opherla has done today." Roshi encouraged the young warrior, with a proud smile on his face.

“Thank you, Opherla.” Liek smiled at the girl, also blushing deeply. He rubbed the back of his head shyly before adding, “It was your demonstration that helped me bring it all together.” He looked back over the oceans and began to ponder the possibilities, now that he had actually performed the technique and felt the way it flowed and how it worked be began to wonder where he could go next with it. Should he focus on just refining it? Making it stronger while remaining true to the original technique? Or should he adapt principles from techniques from Furiemshinken? Adapt Rudee’s Organite Blaster into the Kamehameha? The idea of the beam not just blasting the target but encasing them in an organite crystal was appealing.
Despite Liek’s personal preference for a balanced approach to combat the Furiemshinken was a primarily melee focused combat style, the Fury had been very bod on the whole ‘noble duel’ way of seeing things and like to get up close and personal. Most of the style’s ranged techniques where developed by the female members of the Knights and the J Numbers. Being raised by one of those women that limited catalogue had been taught to Liek. Now the limitations on him where on actually mastering them enough to use them, or finding suitable support items to use with them.
Learning the Kamehameha filled a serious hole in the current roster of techniques.
The boy sat down on the beach sand and chuckled, looking back over at the older girl, “I think I may have messed up a bit though.” He groaned, “My body should not ache this much from one attempt.” He flopped down on his back and sighed, “Well, they do say taking time to relax is as important as training. The air’s nice out here… want to stay a while and take a time out?”

Opherla couldn't help but chuckle a bit as she saw Liek flop down on the ground after finishing his Kamehameha. Opherla only blushed a bit as she heard Liek speak, as she couldn't help but look across the sea, wondering what life with Liek could be like. She imagined them living on the Gau-La-Furia together, with Opherla and Liek filling the seats of the ship with their children, however many they would decide to have, and would imagine them all finding some way to live together forever, whether that be of old age and die, or living together as immortals. The possibilities, truly, were endless. Opherla would just have to break the news to Callion soon that... despite the two of them having been on a date... someone else was gonna beat Callion to the punch. It was decided. Now more than ever. Opherla would spend her time with Liek, and form a relationship with one around her age. So the both of them could live a fulfilled life. Soon looking at Liek, Opherla would sit down and lay beside him, soon looking up at the clouds with him, a blush on her face.
"Yeah... we can rest here for a bit." Opherla said with a heartfelt tone towards Liek, as Roshi could only smile looking at his two students, one current, one former, as he looked at them both.
"Opherla... Liek..." Roshi would say as Opherla glanced his way. "I think the two of you are gonna go far on this journey. You two instill the same beacon of hope I feel for this planet's well being like I felt when I trained Callion. I firmly believe that you two will become a great image of what the heroes of this world should look up to." Roshi finished with a smile, as Opherla couldn't help but smile back at the old master.
"Thank you again, Master Roshi." Opherla smiled brightly at the old master. "For everything."
Roshi only nodded before he began to make his way to the door of his house, leaving Opherla and Liek to themselves to enjoy a nice and peaceful time together of resting and watching the sky.
