Opherla could hear the gravitron firing to life yet again as she turned in on. Though, an oddity to those who might have known her intensive training in gravity, the gravity levels were set much lower than she had been training in up to this point. Only times 48 gravity. Why? Well, it was for some people she had promised this sort of training to. ABAS and Liek had been promised a training session with Opherla, a session she hadn't kept her end of the bargain up for. Up until now, that is. Opherla was preparing her Gravitron for the arrival of two very distinct individuals who Opherla had differing opinions on, and two individuals who were very distinct compared to each other.
On the one hand, there was the realist bio android by the fulled name of Automated Battle Adaptive Sentry... or something like that, ABAS was what he was called for short, though Liek liked to call him Abe. Opherla was always a bit miffed at how much of a realist he was, considering his... more extreme views about how to go about defending Earth compared to people like say, herself and Liek. But, one thing she had to admit: Despite that realist view of his, he was sure devoted to keeping Earth safe, which was why he confronted Liek in the first place, as he quoted "People with ki are dangerous to the normal public..." ...Er, was that right? The intellect which ABAS used to speak was a bit beyond Opherla's pay grade and her education level, regardless, she knew he was determined to get stronger so Earth could be safe, and Opherla was more than happy to provide that training for him.
On the other hand, the one who represented Opherla's vulnerable, emotional, empathetic side. The noble hearted young boy by the name of Liek, who couldn't help but be madly in love with Opherla. And how could Opherla refuse? She was just as devoted, indirectly, to protecting him, as he was to protecting her, and everyone else on Earth. Not to mention he was closer to Opherla's age range and vocabulary. He resonated greatly with Opherla's views on what being a protector of Earth truly means, and was one of the main driving forces behind Opherla becoming better than she was during the incident with the Saiyan known as Salada... that still put a bad taste in her mouth just thinking about it, but thinking about Liek made that go away.
Once the gravitron was up to full operational status on X48 Gravity, Opherla would step out and look up to the sky, waiting for the arrival of both ABAS and Liek, excited to get this group training started. This was the first time she had trained two under her, more or less in gravity as well, so this was uncharted territory... but it was territory Opherla was more than willing to cross, especially considering Callion's warning. It was time to get serious about this. And Opherla was dead serious about this training. She hoped Liek and ABAS were as well, and were ready for the rough training Opherla had prepared for the two of them.

The idea of training in gravity greater then that experienced naturally on the Earth would have been a concept alien to both Fury Empire and the J Numbers. Both Earth and Garanteus shared the same amount of gravity, which was one of the deciding factors for invasion, but also because a surprising number of battles in the Fury War took place in micro-gravity environments in orbit of the two worlds or around Garanteus’ moons. Although Liek had yet to master even the basic level of the technique he was fairly certain that the Energy Cloud technique held the key to allowing him to fight in a vacuum.
But that was a consideration for a later time. For now his mind refocused on the present; today was the day he would be training with Opherla in her gravity device, pushing his body in a way he would have never even imagined was possible without her telling him about it. He wondered what kind of advances such a technology could offer towards his training; he’d already come leaps and bounds before even being given the weighed jacket he now wore. Just how much would higher gravity advance his skills further?
He’d come so far, yet the heights he had to reach for, if he was to live up to his expectations of himself as a protector of the Earth, where so much further beyond what he’d ever imagined before. He could feel a power out to the East, so far beyond anything he’d ever conceived of before, wild and overwhelming. So great was this power he had to remember to dampen his senses to not be driven ill by the maddening scope. And the threat they where set to face was supposedly far beyond that power…
A part of him wanted to scream at the injustice of it all. That hope already seemed lost and that he’d die without even really getting to live.
The dark thoughts swirled around in the back of his mind, along with the suggestion to simply abandon the world to it’s fate and seek out his birth mother, where ever she may be. After all, it was unlikely the evil power would bother seeking out one so weak and lowly as he if he did flee. It wasn’t like the world had done anything for him, right? The world hated Saiyans, they only looked at him with fear and suspicion… who knew when they may turn on him?
Slapping himself, hard, leaving a noticeable mark, the boy silenced the traitorous thoughts and descended from the sky, landing in front of Opherla with a smile, though it was clear from the slight pulling of his lips he was troubled. He was happy to see her, that was beyond question, but everything else still weighed on him.
He was just a boy, he’d never faced a real threat before… and fate was throwing a Galaxy scale threat on him on what amounted to his first day on the job. The stress and fear was wearing on the poor boy’s nerves.
“H-Hey, Opherla!” He greeted with as much cheer as he could muster.

Even as ABAS' shot across the noonday sky in hot pursuit of Liek and Opherla, the bio-android was in deep thought about what had been discussed at Callion's meeting. There were so many unknowns at play here: how strong Arctic was and could grow, whether he would choose Earth or Vegeta first, and how many warriors would respond to the call if the Changeling did invade. ABAS may not be as empathic as some of his other peers, but even he could read between the lines of what Callion was saying. What kind of power was required to utterly convince the Sayian Monk he was going to his death? And so while ABAS remained steadfast in his commitment to train and get as strong as possible before the Changeling arrived, a not-insignificant part of him was beginning to break apart the problem and look at it for different angles. If someone as powerful as Callion (and by extension Liari) felt they had no hope against such a being, no amount of training he could do would allow him to directly fight Arctic. While ABAS was confident that, with a few more months of training and meditation, he would be as powerful as any of them, he simply didn't have the time to achieve his full potential. Honestly, ABAS would have likely already fled if given the choice. However, until he broke the Blacksite's limiters, he was stuck here. Ergo, it makes more sense to focus on less....traditional routes of removing Arctic as a threat. Some technique I can develop or modify to increase my chances of survival. Without an option to retreat, I must make the best use of my talents to support the war effort
However, that didn't mean he should throw away his personal power. Whether it was enhancing the efficacy of his techniques, or quietly pushing himself closer and closer to the point where he could become free, sparring was still very important to him. Which meant that he should stop wool-gathering and focus on the task at hand. ABAS would land right next to Liek, his lime-green aura still screeching as it tore at the air. He hadn't had time to notice it during the meeting, but both Opherla and Liek had grown SIGNIFICANTLY stronger than when he had seen them last. Opherla especially exceeded his maximum output without his containment suit! It hurt his ego a little bit to see how quickly they were growing compared to him, but ABAS didn't let the useless emotion bother him. Now was no the time for self-pity, now was the time for action! "Good day to you both. Shall we get started? We have a lot of work to do if we are to help take down this Arctic individual." ABAS said, his tone as neutral as always. He shot a glance at Opherla. "Before we begin, shall we suppress out powers to Liek's level? It will not be much of a sparring session if we simply overwhelm him with raw power." He pointed out. After all, the bio-android gained little from just one-shotting Liek faster than he could perceive. If he wanted the maximum benefit here, they would have to hold back. Opherla smiled as Liek arrived, the young boy bringing joy to her heart again as she looked upon him with a bright smile on her face. It was always good to see Liek, no matter the situation or circumstance. The connection they shared, the bond they felt to one another, it was unmistakable. Opherla wondered... was it starting to become true love at this point? Were Liek and her hanging around enough that the feelings were blooming into a state of love and companionship? Opherla could only wonder, considering how Liek greeted her, and how she smiled at him.
"Hello Liek. I'm happy you made it." Opherla smiled at Liek, genuinely meaning her happiness as she spoke to Liek, considering the heartfelt tone in her heart upon seeing Liek. Liek always brightened her day and seemed to make her forget about the things in her life or things of the world. He could always turn her mind away from the things of bad and make her see the good in all life even if it was for a split moment. Maybe this was love... but Opherla wasn't sure just how to go about confessing to Liek yet.
Just then, ABAS arrived, focusing Opherla back on the task before them: Training. ABAS and Liek were both here to train, not talk about love life like Opherla was thimking about, as Opherla was getting ready to bring them into the ship when ABAS asked if they should lower their powers to meet Liek's, as Opherla smiled and laughed a bit.
"You think training involves just punching each other in the face, ABAS? That's one form of it, but there are so many ways you can train yourself." Opherla said. "Agility, maneuverability, evasiveness, and even team cohesion. We're gonna start you two in Gravity with this goal in mind: I want the two of you to try and land a strike on me in X48 Gravity. If either of you can manage that, I'll consider it a passing grade for you both. Teamwork is going to be key in this session. And no, if I block your strike, that doesn't count. I mean a clean, full on, full force punch to my face or my body. That's what I want to see you two accomplish today. It may take you a while, considering the fact you both need to get used to the Gravitron." Opherla would say, before she took some steps backwards into the chamber, looking between Liek and ABAS expectingly.
"Well? What are you waiting for? Step in and get used to the gravity. Once you think you're ready, we'll start the session!" Opherla remarked. She knew this was going to be a challenge for the two of them to do, especially on their first time in the Gravitron. But Opherla had confidence in her two students... students? Hah. That was weird to say it like that. Regardless, she had confidence that they would overcome the challenge, if not today, then sometime soon as they trained in Gravity together.

“I have to agree with Opherla.” Liek commented while looking over at ABAS. He was aware that the technique to suppress power existed, in theory, though he’d never seen it used in practice. At least, as far as he was aware of. The main reason being his original teacher, and his new one, never really learned that technique. His grandmother never had a reason to since Orgone was undetectable to begin with, and Roshi just never had a reason to do so. And if the old man did know it he never thought to tell Liek.
“If the only training you’ve ever done has involved trying to hit people then you’ve not been training right.” Liek explained his position while doing some pre-workout stretches. While stretching his arms behind his back, one looped over from the top, the other from below he clarified, “There is more to martial arts then punches, kicks and ki blasts. It’s about training both body and mind, bringing your whole self into balance.” He switched his arms around, “If all you do is learn how to hit things then you are no different from a trained killer, a martial artist is someone who knows all the same things as a trained killer, but holds themselves to a higher standard, wielding their strength for a purpose, not for personal gain.”
Maybe someone like Roshi would have explained it better, but Liek’s philosophy on martial arts flowed from the roots of Furiemshinken, which was designed for use by a planet wide Knightly Order and military heavily steeped in an honour and meritocratic system. The main road of advancement for Fury was to prove their worth and skill, and one of the main means to do so was through ritual duelling and mock battles. It was every would-be Knight’s honour to beat the hell out of each other to prove they could serve their nation better then their peers.
The boy looked back at Opherla and smiled while walking into the gravity champer, “Welp, the sooner we get started the sooner we can get used tooHFU-” he was cut off as the gravity him and unceremoniously slammed him into the ground. Slowly peeling himself up off the ground and onto all fours, “Ugh… watch that first step… it’s a doozy...”

Where other beings would feel frustration or anger at the level of condescension being thrown his way, ABAS only felt a vague sort of amusement. THEY were telling HIM there was more to fighting than mere punching? That it involved bringing his body and soul into balance? The only thing that informed ABAS was that his efforts to conceal his growing powers from the world were working even better than he intended.
"So will you just stand there in place Opherla? I can at least somewhat keep up with you in this restricted form. However, Liek cannot learn anything of evasion or maneuverability if his body cannot react fast enough to dodge in the first place." ABAS said simply. "And unless you refer to learning teamwork in the non-fighting sense, that training suffers from a similar issue. After all, if you can just ignore Liek's attacks, then he cannot learn how to properly coordinate with an ally. Nevertheless, if you wish to stay at your current level of power, that is your decision." The bio-android finished. Following Liek's lead, the bio-android began to work out the kinks in his exoskeleton, cracking his neck and various joints with wet-sounding crunches.
"What you have both said is true to a point of course. There is, of course, much more to fighting than raw physical strength. However, as Master Callion mentioned, we do not have much time. The average starship can make a journey from Vegeta to Earth in a matter of weeks, with an average of 4.3 days either way depending on starship class. Therefore, the best form of training while we have this tool is to fight, and fight hard. Only through the most intensive of combat will we push our limits enough to become helpful in the coming war."
Honestly, ABAS was beginning to doubt the benefits of this little exercise, especially after hearing Opherla's training 'plan'. Was she seriously going to just sit there and let them attack her? Granted, some level of restraint was probably necessary given Liek's comical reaction to the gravity, but this was just ridiculous. Opherla wouldn't get nearly as much out of this than if they sparred at full tilt, and ABAS simply couldn't abide by such wastage. But while he was here, he might as well use the resources provided to him, even if his sparring partners were not ideal.
ABAS shook his head, stepping smoothly into the gravity chamber with the cadence of a practiced warrior. He had already experienced this level of gravity when training with Queen Zaks, so while it caused him to hesitate slightly, it didn't bring him to his knees the same way it did to Liek. He was, after all, EXPONENTIALLY more powerful and experienced than that last fateful training session.
He turned then, extending a hand to pull Liek to his feet. "Concentrate your ki Liek. Once you are accustomed to the increased gravitational forces, you can get by with your musculature alone. However, until that day you must take care to reinforce your body with your ki. I would recommend on focusing on that feeling today."
At the same time, ABAS reached into Liek's mind, twisting the ethereal currents of the mental plane to build a bridge between their thoughts. Do not react Liek. Merely think your words instead of thinking out loud. I have a plan to bypass Opherla's little test, but it requires your input. On my mark, I want you to rush Opherla head-first. Don't pay attention to me, just go. If you like, try to think of something distracting to say as well. The key here will be throwing her off her game. Are you ready?

Opherla couldn't help but stifle a laugh as she watched Liek slam down into the ground, giggling some as she tried her hardest not to burst out in laughter at the misfortune of the boy. Opherla couldn't help but feel a little sorry for Liek, considering the fact he just faceplanted in front of her in an attempt to get things going. Opherla would take the time to help him stand up, since helping Liek would give him enough of a boost, Opherla believed, to commit to the training. However, when she helped Liek up, she soon heard ABAS go into a monologue, a lecture even, on the pros and cons of Opherla's method of training, as Opherla furrowed her brow and sucked in a deep breath, walking away from Liek into the center of the gravity chamber, collecting her thoughts, before turning to ABAS.
"Yes. I know Arctic's coming. Yes. I know we need to be as efficient as possible with this training." Opherla sternly declared before staring holes into ABAS. "But I'm shocked your calculations didn't fully compute as to why this method works the best, ABAS. Let me spell it out for you. Say we did your original method, we power down to Liek's level and fight together. Sure. Liek gets astounding benefits. But what about us? What growth do we get in doing that aside from the extra gravity helping our movements in regular Earth gravity? And of course, going all out is no option, since I know I'm more powerful than the both of you, no offense or superiority check there, just stating facts. So I came up with this option: An agility test. Yes, Liek's attacks won't do much against me, but that just makes me an effevtive punching bag for him. Let's compare this method compared to the last two. Yes, I get the least growth out of it due to purely working on my defenses, but you two gain boosts to your agility, strength to a degree, maneuverability, and if you do it right, teamwork. I benefit some from defense. You two benefit greatly from many aspects of this training. Does that make sense, ABAS?" Opherla asked sternly, as she looked holes into ABAS, as if begging him to try and fire holes into her logic, when ultimately, Opherla was right. ABAS and her gained nothing from battling Liek in suppressed power. Liek gained nothing if they all chose all out. This, ultimately, was the best path ahead for them all to get gains, and Opherla was flabbergasted to think ABAS hadn't considered that. He was an android! Surely he accounted for EVERY variable! ...Well, Opherla guessed not, considering his answer.
"Now, if we're done discussing that, I believe it's time for us to begin." Opherla declared, taking a defensive stance. "Let's see your strategy, you two. I hope you two grow incredibly from this session." Opherla stated, and she meant that truly. She wanted them both to grow, so both could be more prepared for when Arctic came to destroy this planet. The more prepared they were, the better off they would be as a group in the event when Arctic arrived.

“Thanks, ABAS.” The boy replied when the bio-mechanical bugman gave him advice about dealing with the increased gravity. He then put that advice into action and began focusing on the flow of ki through his body, first finding his core, like he had so many times before, and following the through through his limbs. He adjusted the flow around his heart and blood vessels first, reinforcing them against the strain and amplifying their strength so the gravity wouldn’t force all his blood into his feet when he stood up. Then he reinforced his muscles and bones, building a lattice of spiritual energy to reinforce them against the strain and ease movement. No doubt the other two could actively feel his energy shifting within him. Opening his eyes he shifted his hands under his body and pushed himself to his feet.
“There we go…” Liek said softly, “Step one, mostly done?”
He then looked at ABAS and said, “I know it’s just an anecdote, but Grandma and I did this kind of training all the time when I was little. It’s how I learned to fly. Every time I got close to catching her she’d up the ante and push me even harder.” If anything Opherla was taking it easy on them compared to his Grandmother’s training, the old woman didn’t do pure defence like Opherla was going to, she didn’t hesitate to smack him hard when he rushed in too recklessly. Not that he was going to say that out loud, lest he give Opherla any ideas.
The boy barely suppressed the blink of surprise when he heard ABAS’ voice in his head, ‘Telepathy? Man… you beat me to it! I’ve been trying to figure that one out too!’ He looked towards Opherla and pondered the bio-android’s words before thinking, ‘Ok! I trust you!’
Outwardly there was no sign of the boy preparing to move, but the moment ABAS gave the signal the boy sprang off the ground, using crystals he formed from his feet and detonated to accelerate his launch, his flight speed surprising for his power level, weighted clothing and inexperience in a high gravity environment, all a testament to his greater skill at flying. His body was shrouded in a green aura as he triggered his Fury Crash technique, his face turning beat red as he yelled the first thing he could think of;
“I LOVE YOU OPHERLAA!!”

ABAS merely shrugged at Opherla's little tirade. "As I said before, if you believe that is the best training method, then I will go along with it. It is your gravity chamber after all, what you choose to do with it is your decision." ABAS said calmly. In all honestly, the bio-android simply didn't feel like arguing the point any longer. Opherla's emotions were heightened now, and it was obvious anything he said further about the topic was just going to piss her off all the more. If she wanted to ignore the benefits of holding back power to promote the growth of technical ability and fighting prowess, then that was her decision. He would just need to practice extra on his own time to make up for the lack.
What was of more concern to ABAS was Liek's condition. While the human boy was strong, it was obvious he was struggling a lot within the Gravitron. If he could not even stand, then he would be of no help in overcoming Opherla's test. Nor would there be a point in him being here.
If he can't take this, then I'll force him out no matter what. Despite how weak Liek is compared to beings like Zaks or Liari, ever little crumb of power is important against Arctic. His pride means nothing if it reduces our firepower by even a fraction of a degree. ABAS thought, his thoughts settling into a steely sort of resolve.
Despite his misgivings, however, Liek somehow managed to stand. ABAS watched approvingly through his Ceruelian-enhanced eye as the boy delicately spun a web of ki-reinforcement throughout his body. It was sloppy work in ABAS' eye, but it was quite advanced for a first-timer. If he was smart, Liek would learn with practice, allowing him to adapt to gravity even faster!
"Good work Liek. Remember to keep it up during the fighting. If it slips for even a moment you could break several bones quite horrifically." ABAS said matter-of-factly. "During my first test I skimped on my reinforcement to land a punch on my opponent, and it ended quite badly. It is important that you not follow on my footsteps without the necessary regeneration." He advised. If he was forced to work together with Liek, he might as well make sure he was as equipped as possible for the task ahead.
Their plan decided, ABAS watched for a split-second as the boy charged headlong at their common enemy. Liek seemed to have anticipated ABAS' own tactics beautifully, charging headlong at Opherla with a wave of ki! Not only that, but he shouted something nonsensical above love while he did it! It was the perfect distraction, and just what ABAS had been waiting for!
Silently, ABAS detached his outer chitin shell, slipping both out of it and his weighted armor under the cover of Liek's charge. He infused it with enough ki to keep its approximate shape, while also sending the dummy directly at Opherla! While he did so, he raced forward at his maximum speed, attempting to circle behind Opherla and come in for an attack!

"H... H... Huh...!?"
Opherla had been completely caught off guard. Stunned. Shocked in place. Liek's words rang through her like she had just been rung like a bell. What... what did Liek just say!? Did he just... did he just say he... LOVED her!? The realization of the first confession Liek had given Opherla was definitely doing its work, causing Opherla to be caught unaware while ABAS made his two pronged assault, as Opherla suddenly felt a swell of power coming from two directions, as her eyes widened, shaking her head and getting back into the game quickly, as she quickly did the only thing she could think up for evading the incoming blow to keep the test going.
"DAIYŌ!!!"
In an instant, Opherla seemed to MORPH into a plushie, and as she seemingly morphed, ABAS and his decoy both landed their attacks on the plushie, which immediately shredded the wolf plushie to absolute shreds, which could easily mortify Liek if he saw this, thinking he just watched Opherla transform and get herself shredded apart by ABAS in an instant. However, it wouldn't be long before both Liek and ABAS heard not far from where the plushy had been...
"Phew. You two sure cooked up an effective plan, huh?"
Opherla, slightly sweating due to the shock of Liek and almost losing her own test that quickly, would wipe the nervous sweat from her brow and fold her arms as she chuckled. "Very good teamwork. Also, I'm gonna ask you later at some point if you meant that, Liek." Opherla said with a smirk as she chuckled. "That was a dirty, dirty, trick, you two. Trying to play at my teenage emotions and pass the test with no effort. No no no, we ain't playing that game of letting the students by without proper work shown! You two are gonna have to actually WORK! Not just form a coy little strategy to get me on your first tag team maneuver. Bonus points for the try, sure, but you still gotta earn the grade!" Opherla laughed before she resumed her defensive stance. "Now, let's see both of you actually try to pin me and land a hit using your SKILLS instead of your SMARTS here." Opherla remarked. She had to give them props! They almost snuck their way right through this test, to which Opherla may have relented to ABAS' method, as brutish as it sounded, but nope, that was not happening so soon! Fool her once, shame on her. Fool her twice? Hah! They wouldn't get THAT one by her again! At least, Opherla was gonna make sure they had a really hard time getting one by her again!

The plan… sort of worked? His impulsive confession certainly got a reaction out of Opherla and threw her completely off guard, sadly it wasn’t for a long enough time for the pair of Liek and ABAS to fully capitalise on and the girl managed to evade by… transforming into a plushy? The move legitimately did confuse the boy greatly in the moment he say it, for a brief moment it really did seem like his crush had turned into a stuffed animal toy, only to immediately be shredded to pieces by a bugman.
This was also the first time the youth had seen the true appearance of the armoured bio-engineered defender. He was… like nothing the youth had ever seen before. From his perspective there was something both monstrous and yet noble able the bugman’s appearance.
While the initial surprise had caused Liek to panic for a brief moment as the plushy was ripped apart his senses informed him that Opherla’s energy hadn’t changed, then he clocked onto the fact it had changed positions. So that move must have been some ninja-inspired replacement technique! A smirk of admiration crossed the boys lips as he couldn’t help but love her ingenuity in working out such a technique.
Spinning in the air he formed a crystal from his feet and used it to arrest his momentum, bending his entire body into a crouching position. Focusing his gaze on the girl he loved he considered her words and the fact that this was training, but also factoring in the amount of success he and ABAS had just had in the previous attempt. Sure, distracting her like that wouldn’t work a second time, but if ABAS could be in multiple places at once… why shouldn’t he?
May as well practice that move, right?
“Furiemshinken!” Forming an elongated crystal in each hand he launched himself at Opherla again while throwing the crystals, “BROKEN ARM!” Only the crystals didn’t fly straight! After travelling a short while they started weaving, zigging and zagging, cutting an unpredictable path through the air as Liek also made similar erratic movements as he closed in on the wolfgirl. When the moment came to strike he and the crystals struck in quick succession, first a crystal, then Liek, then the other crystal, then Liek again, then the first crystal, then the second twice, then the first then Liek again. The two crystals lost their lustre and dissolved into the air as Liek back away to catch his breath.

Like clockwork, Liek and ABAS' plan swung into motion.
As he had expected, Opherla seemed to be only mildly experienced with the demands of real combat. When overwhelmed by multiple incoming stimuli, her combat senses went awry. With her instincts confused, there was no escape for her. ABAS and Liek struck in unison, shredding Opherla to shreds of stuffing with their combined assault.
Stuffing?
ABAS was stunned for a moment, but he had been around Liari far too often to be stunned by a basic transmutation spell. His honed ki senses quickly reacquired Opherla's signature, and ABAS pivoted on his heel, staring down the wolf-like Sayian.
So she is a wielder of magic as well. Curious, I thought the phenomena was something unique to Liari and other similarly magical creatures. However, if Opherla is any judge, it seems to emerge equally across multiple species. I wonder how it comes about/
After his encounter with Liari and Pran, ABAS had done some personal research into magical gifts and abilities in an attempt to get a better understanding of the Majin's capablities. Most of it was urban legend and other such hearsay, but he was able to uncover enough kernels of truth to know that it was a powerful asset. And while ki was a pure expression of one's spirit and mind, magic seemed to be something else entirely. ABAS found that distinction....quite interesting for his own potential.
"And you think such tactics aren't appropriate on the battlefield Opherla? If Arctic is willing to blow up planets, I doubt he will balk at manipulating your emotions. A win is a win, no matter how 'dirty' the tactics are." ABAS argued, sliding into a fighting stance. If Opherla wanted straightforward, he would give her straightforward.
Liek charged headlong at Opherla once again, each step resounding with a loud clank under the increased gravity. It was brave, and his choice of technique was quite interesting, but it was pointless on its own. Opherla's speed and technique were too refined (in ABAS's estimation at least) to be ever be caught out by something so straightforward. Liek's solo needed accompaniment in order to be truly effective.
And so, ABAS began his performance. He set the theme of his accompaniment by firing off a swarm of small ki Bio-Bombers, casting the whole gravity room in an eerie red and blue glow. Most of the blasts just hovered in mid air, in an attempt to cut off Opherla's escape routes. After all, the wolf-Sayian had never specified HOW hard they had to hit her, just that it had to be a clean blow.
What elevated the whole thing to inspiration, however, was the blasts that DIDNT stay in place. The red and blue orbs orbited one another, altered by the trajectories and pull of their neighbor. The Bio-Bomber technique was originally meant to combine ki blasts to create a stronger one, and exploiting that pull lead to...interesting possibilities. On top of the blasts coming from tricky trajectories, they also combined into slightly stronger blasts as they completed the Bio-Bomber technique, increasing the danger!

Opherla found herself under another very intricate pair of attacks. First, Liek's attack which came at her from so many angles that it was no wonder the technique he shouted was Broken Arm. Opherla was quite mesmerized by the attack actually, seeing it dart and dance all over the place as she could easily read the technique's pattern, but she also had to deal not just with Liek here, but also ABAS as she noticed the Bio Bombers floating about, not only cutting her from escaping this combination attack, but also seeing them grow. If they grew enough, the entire chamber was under threat of being destroyed! Opherla wasn't going to have any of this from ABAS. However, she did have a plan to evade the both of them and save her pod as well, as Opherla would start with Liek, channeling her senses and then flaring her eyes open as she watched Liek approach, before proceeding to...
Avoid Broken Arm in its entirety!
The erratic movements despite them being erratic, Opherla could easily bob and weave through them like she was the top of the top in pro boxing, all because of her Split-Second Dodge technique, twisting and micromoving her body to evade the crystals and Liek with perfect efficacy, dashing back as she soon shot ki at all the orbs of the Bio-Bombers, causing them to detonate while nowhere near her, and dispelling the damage that the technique could have SERIOUSLY done to ABAS, as Opherla brushed herself off and kept a ready stance, but threw a glare ABAS' way.
"I appreciate the realism you bring to this battle, but that doesn't mean you threaten the very structural integrity of what we're training in. I won't tolerate someone who's going to destroy my property, or have intents to, during a sparring session. I'm not saying don't use ki. I'm telling you to take notes on how Liek approached me with energy. Keep it contained, so we don't lose our source of a training room just because you decided it was a good idea to lay floating bombs all around in here." Opherla spat at ABAS. His very cruel nature was finally starting to tick her off a bit, if the vein of anger appearing on her head was any indication. Opherla was now severely starting to question if ABAS was TRULY a defender of Earth, or if he was just using that as a mask to get close to other Earth Defenders and wipe them all out. Opherla wasn't sure she knew at this point. But one thing she did know, if ABAS pulled a stunt like that again, Opherla was going to see to it he got the message to stop, and if he didn't receive such a message, then she would forcefully evict him from this training, denounce the fact she was going to train him, and focus solely on getting Liek used to the Gravitron. Liek was a young boy with a bright future, and he was showing that in every movement he made. But ABAS, ABAS was starting to concern Opherla, and she was starting to doubt his claims about strength and protecting Earth. A protector of Earth wouldn't go so far as to threaten the property of someone else just to pass a simple little test! It was a simple test, just hit Opherla! Not blow up her Gravitron to do it!

Well, while Liek had been hoping his incomplete Broken Arm would work but at the same time he wasn’t totally surprised it didn’t, although the attack pattern was completely random there were only two crystals, that made it a lot easier to keep track of their movements. What really surprised Liek was HOW Opherla had dodged the attack! He didn’t know what she called it, the way she moved, if it was a technique or pure skill on display, but she looked absolutely mesmerising as she flowed like water… or the wind… or… did it really matter like what? The boy couldn’t keep his eyes off how beautiful she looked the entire time she evaded his attacks.
He was so distracted by the eye candy he lost track of where ABAS’s moves where going and ended up drifting a little too close to a large Bio Bomber blob right before it detonated. Instinctively he reacted immediately and tried to defend himself with Fury Deflect, however there was too much power behind ABAS’ attack the youth was unable to deflect the lion’s share of the blast, causing him to be engulfed by it. He grunted in pain and was blown away, only recovering in time to land feet first on the wall of the Gravitron. Panting, the boy looked a little singed but not seriously harmed.
Through all that excitement he hadn’t noticed the exchange taking place between Opherla and ABAS until after he’d held his hand ‘up’ (from his perspective) and called out, “I’m ok!” Upon noticing he could only stand there and wonder what was causing this level of tension between to two. They where allowed to use ki, right? He was sure they where since Opherla hadn’t yelled at them to stop. Did Opherla think ABAS used too much power in that attack of his? Sure, it had hurt, the arm he’d deflected with was still ringing from the impact, and maybe slightly numb, but he was tough enough to handle it! It shouldn’t be a problem, right?

ABAS clicked his beak as his technique found little success. Instead of restricting Opherla's movements and forcing her to confront Liek head-on, Opherla merely destroyed them all with a wave of a hand. Liek was even caught up in the explosion, and ended up taking a fair bit of damage. Unfortunate, but he supposed that the kid's Zenkai abilities would probably find worth out of the experience.
ABAS was about to check if the boy was ok when Opherla flew between them and glared him down. She began to practically spit and snarl at the bio-android, accusing him of wanting to destroy the gravitron maliciously, and even insulting him by implying he didn't know how to control his ki! An unfamiliar feeling of rage began to bubble in ABAS's chest, one that he couldn't immediately force down like bile. Once again, the Earthlings were intent on making him the villain. No matter that he was trying his best to help them in his own way, regardless of whether he cared for the civilians. No matter that his presence had saved many lives, or that his very existence was their fault. They would always look on him with hatred and suspicion, merely because who he was and what he represented. It...sickened him to the core.
“I am confused Opherla. In one breath, you tell me that it would be foolishness for us to not hold back. That the only way for us all to achieve growth is to fight at our full potential. Yet when I do so, and even purposefully hold back the power of my ki as much as I physically can, something that any ki-wielder should be able to sense, you accuse me of acting recklessly. Those Bio-Bombers were nowhere near the required energy to destroy this place, and if they had any chance of doing so it would be because you detonated them all at once. They were not meant as attacks, they were meant to restrict your mobility. Hence why they only detonated when directly contacted." ABAS pointed out.
He didn't know why Opherla was acting like he was throwing out a serious attack, the most those attacks would have done alone was slightly scorch the paint on Opherla's walls. Destroying ANYTHING was ENTIRELY outside of their capabilities
"Besides, if I truly wanted to destroy your property for no reason, I would have used one of my bigger attacks. But I didn’t, purely to save the integrity of this gravity chamber. Even if I was as malicious as you are implying, why would I want to destroy this place in the first place? The benefit of training her far outweighs any petty justification I get out of destroying it.” ABAS shot back. The woman’s peevishness was really starting to get to him and disrupt his usual calm and reasonable center.
“I do not require you to tell me how to control my energy Opherla. I am perfectly capable of keeping my ki contained properly, but there is only so much that can be done at this power level. If you wanted there to be no hint of risk to your graviton, we should have powered down like I suggested in the first place.” He pointed out. He didn’t know if Opherla was just riding some egotistical high, or if she was merely ki-blind. Any idiot with power could have seen that he was holding back, and keeping his ki contained. Otherwise, the shot that hit Liek would have turned his bones to ash.
Perhaps this was indicative of all the thanks he would get for defending this planet. No matter how much he fought or how much he sacrificed, he would always be looked upon with suspicion.
“Nevertheless, I can see that you clearly do not want me here. Whether or not you admit it to yourself. I will depart so that you can teach Liek one on one without my ‘recklessness’. It will be the most efficient for all of our training if we do not have to stop every few seconds for you to lecture me.” ABAS said, turning to leave. Perhaps he could look up Liari for another battle. At least SHE didn't stop to accuse him of being evil every few seconds.
He stopped, looking over his shoulder. "If I can give you some final "friendly" advice, I would advise focusing more on Liek in the future. He could have been seriously hurt by his first time in gravity, or by you detonating my technique, all while you were focusing on lecturing me. He is strong, but he requires a teacher to shape his growth."
He turned to Liek .“Liek, reach out to me via telepathy if you wish to train again. I would enjoy viewing those ki techniques of yours in a less restricted setting.”
With that, ABAS would walk out the door if nobody stopped him, and fly off into the noonday sky. He would need to be careful to observe those around Opherla in the future. If today was any judge, the woman had a remarkable talent for alienating her own allies...
