By Liek’s estimates it would probably take him a week to fully explore the ship on his own, longer if he wanted to take a full inventory manually, which he would probably need to do anyway to ensure the systems automatic checking was accurate. Even one person helping would speed that up immensely. It would be boring work, but he knew he could trust Opherla with it, she was the dutiful sort. And if she knew that most of the stasis pods of the original configuration where still present in the four side prongs she would surely agree to his Plan B; get as many people into those pods as possible and get the ship far enough from sight, or get the cloaking system back up and running and use that, so Arctic doesn’t notice them. Then the autopilot could seek out a suitable world for the refugees to find refuge.
He was very glad to hear her enthusiasm about coming back, it always seemed to make him happy whenever she was interested in something he was doing. And, if he was being honest, he felt the same way about the things she was doing. Her Lycanshoto was a very interesting style and the boy was interested to learn all he could of it, even if he may not ever use it himself. He was about to confirm that she was always welcome when her lips pressed onto his.
Her tender lips where like lighting against his own, her scent addicting to his nostrils. Instincts kicked in and his arms wrapped around her waist.
However…
Liek.exe had stopped working and needed time to reset.
A process that hadn’t completed until Opherla was already gone. By the time his brain had caught up he was just left gaping, with his mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water. Slowly his mind managed to process the fact that Opherla had just kissed him! The girl he’d fallen for had kissed him! YE-!
And then Terra reminded him that she was there, causing his face to light up brighter then a tomato.
“M-m-m-m-married?!” He squealed while stumbling away in shock, tripping over himself he ended up sprawled over one of the side counters. The boy stared at the little girl with eyes as wide as saucers before stuttering, “N-No! Not y-yet… before m-married is Dating! Yeah… w-we’re just… d-dating now…” At least, that’s the conclusion Liek was going with. It seemed that that was the most logical conclusion to reach given the circumstance.
Also, Liek in no way felt prepared to explain romantic love and marriage to a small child. Though, he did have an idea, “Have you learned how to read yet? If so I’ll let you read my Grandmother’s shoujo manga collection, that will teach you all about the mysteries of Romance.”
