Chapter 1: Circumvent circumvent: find a way around (an obstacle) BOOOOM!As if on cue to the supposed co-commander of the Society of Welvth, Fizzy's, assumed farewell to the two women that stood in the ruins, a thunderous explosion rumbled in the abandoned city that nearly threw the two women's balances off. They both exclaimed in shock as they felt the earth shake below them. Debris began to stumble from above to all over the ground, some buildings already met their demise of shattering into thousands, if not millions of pieces. Anything and everything inside of it would be crushed by the large boulders and destroyed, reduced to nothing but mere rubbish. "Shit! They're actually blowing up Nifara!" Shorette yelled. "Yeah, no shit they're blowing it up!" Yoguri barked. Just a minute later after the first explosion, a second sound of another explosion rippled in the air, this time the eruption feeling much closer to where it even unnerved Shorette to great lengths with her ability to sense disturbances in air molecules through her sense of touch. Yoguri, on the other hand, looked less concerned of the second explosion and more towards the building that the two soldiers came out of that they dealt with. Shorette saw it plastered on the soldier's face. Instead of escaping immediately, there was something else on her mind. Before the young woman even thought to try and get her attention, Yoguri sprinted towards the building. Shorette's eyes flew open, flabbergasted at what the soldier did. She went in instead of exiting for safety. "What the hell?! Yoguri!" The young woman quickly fled after her into the building to drag her out. When Shorette entered, she already witnessed the soldier frantically searching through almost every drawer in sight of what looked to be an office. "What do you think you're doing?! Do you not notice everything around us crumbling and we're going to be squashed like pests if we don't haul ass?!" She called out. Yoguri ignored the young woman as she continued to search through the drawers, papers flung everywhere and littered the floors. Shorette was about to call out Yoguri, even go up to her and drag her out... but something caught her attention. Something that she never would expect to be here in all places, just at the back of the office: a large... penguin machine? It looked like a human sized penguin. Round, almost fluffy looking. It looked to be at least almost six feet tall. With a cheery expression glued on its face, it stood there, motionless. An orange tie with what looked to be backpack straps, and some sort of oxygen tank. "Uh..." There were already a million questioned that surged around her head as she looked at the machine. What was even that thing? Why was it here? It looked like it belonged to some amuse- "Got it!" Shorette's thoughts were interrupted as Yoguri shoved a paper clenched in her fist in the air momentarily in victory. She turned around and noticed Shorette in place, frozen as if she was distracted by something. Not passing even the slightest glare to the direction the young woman stared at, the soldier ran towards Shorette and grabbed her by the arm. Yoguri proceeded to head out of the building whilst Shorette was dragged along. "Move it" She yelled, Shorette then right behind Yoguri and forced to run along right behind her. Without any sort of warning, Yoguri stopped in her tracks and turned around to face the young woman. She skipped right behind her and wrapped her arms around Shorette's waist with a tight grip. Startled, Shorette tried to look behind at the soldier to see what she was up to. "You know, as much as I'd love to deepen our relationship, how about-" Shorette's witty remark was interrupted as a light blue aura of ki (Shorette had seen something like this before, she was almost certain it was ki as someone who doesn't have proper access to it) surrounded Yoguri. Ahead of what would've been a question asked by the young woman, Yoguri swiftly flew in the air with Shorette embraced by the waist. "Whoa, whoa, whoa!" She exclaimed. Efficiently, Yoguri dodged every single stone and boulder that fell directly above them. From below, a third explosion shook the abandoned city as the duo were then halfway up to the edge of the cliff. "Shit, shit!" The soldier cussed to herself. Just as they approached the edge of the cliff, part of it eventually broke apart and came down right at the duo. "Shit!" Another cuss was uttered. Barely dodging the fallen boulder by flying to the side, her grip around Shorette nearly loosened. The young woman, while her composure remained, internally she felt her heart drop. She might've been strong, but she didn't know if she was that strong to survive a fall that was a couple of feet a little too high for a human to possibly survive a fall onto hard stone. Thankfully, Yoguri made it to the top and began to fly towards the exit while the ceiling practically began to fall on top all around them as they try to make their escape. "Hang on!" She yelled. "Yeah, I don't really have much of a choice!" Shorette retorted. They were closing in on the entrance, the entrance itself beginning to close in from the debris that fell from the multiple explosions. "Not to be rude, but can you fly any faster than this?! They're piling on pretty fast!" Shorette called. "At least I can actually fly unlike you, so be a little grateful!" Yoguri replied with a snarl. The duo were getting closer, but the entrance became more restricted. Each second was a closer to freedom, but also closer to being caved in and crush. The questioned remained... were they going to make it through a miracle, or would reality harshly set in for the two meeting their downfall?

At the last second, although the exit looked to be completely drowned in rubble, it was light enough for Shorette and Yoguri to smash through the exit at the last second. Stones exploded everywhere from the collision as the soldier lost her balance from the bump. The duo fell to the ground and skidded across the surface. Shorette was on her back whereas Yoguri laid on her stomach. The two women groaned in pain, but Shorette was the first to transition into kneeling on one knee. She looked up ahead back at the entrance they flew through as there was one last explosion that rumbled the earth, under the assumption that the abandoned city of Nifara was reduced to nothing more than a demolition site, officially nonexistent.
Silence fell between the two as Yoguri eventually got on her knee as well, then straightened her legs to stand up. "Well... that could've been a long worse." Shorette was casual with her comment. She also stood up on her feet and dusted the dirt off her clothes. She looked back at Yoguri to see how she did. She was already back on her feet and didn't sustain any injuries by the look of it. Fortunately, the same was said for the young woman. However, for a moment, Shorette's eyes flashed open in realization, then uttered a cuss. "...Damn it!" Before she shook her head and sighed.
Her backpack was left behind. Her phone and most importantly, her father's research, were buried under the rubble. Everything her father discovered was now lost forever. There was then officially no city of Nifara for her to continue what her father started. Now, there was nothing for her to continue. As expected, Shorette felt a wave of disappointment crash on her. She ran a hand through her hair to help soothe the high levels of frustration she contained. This wasn't going to do anything. What happened, happened. The research was unrecoverable. There was nothing she could do, especially even thought about an attempt to dig through the heavy rubble.
"You can leave, if you want." Yoguri finally broke the silence between the two.
Shorette's head shook a little as she was brought back into reality by the soldiers voice. She could go? Did she want the young woman to leave? And why? "Leave if I want? Why would I do that?" She asked as she turned her body towards the other woman.
Yoguri shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly as she began to spread open a large paper in front of her. "Our deal is technically out of the window. You wanted to get some research in regards to Nifara to help fill in the blanks your father left behind in exchange of me retrieving Ittar's Vision." She admitted.
The soldier had a point. There was nothing Shorette to gain from sticking around. This wasn't her battle to tackle. Though, she did anything but consider leaving, as agreed by the duo. It did seem appear, on the other hand, that with the soldier's home now under complete ruins, the deal completely traveled her head. Understandably so. "Hey..." Shorette called out in a soft voice and approached her militant companion. "Remember what I said back there? After our little deal? We're in this together. I'm not backing out now... especially since not only the research was destroyed along with my phone, but also the fact that we nearly got killed." She explained. There was still something for Shorette to gain, something that she and Yoguri would both benefit from, and she was a woman with of her word.
On the contrary, Yoguri appeared stoic, as if she weren't shook or even bothered by the fact that her home was now destroyed. Shorette had a feeling that deep down, Yoguri was heavily troubled. For her own home to be crumbled into pieces and to act as if nothing was wrong... Shorette knew she was coping. Before the young woman got a word in, Yoguri replied, "Then in that case, you better come over here and take a look at this. It's a map of the Society of Welvth and where their other bases are."
Shorette's face lit up in intrigue as she walked over next to the soldier. "So that's why you went in there. For the map." She came into the realization of why Yoguri risked her life to get into the building while the city was practically falling on top of them. "Alright... good find, then." For now, it was better to leave out asking how Yoguri felt and stick to what was more important: finding Ittar's Vision, Fizzy, then the leader of it all, Tofoo.
"So... what are we looking at?"

Yoguri took a moment to survey the entire map before she pointed at a location circled with a red marker. However, over that circle was a large X that tried to cross out what was circled. It could be inferred that the crossing was very recent with the discovery that Nifara would be no more, even in its ruined state. "We're right here, just on the northwest side of this map. 'Nifara Base' And it looked like they tried to cross that out too. Typical." She then pointed at the name written above what would've been Nifara, or what was left of it before its demolition.
Shorette tried to get a good read at Yoguri, but she found herself at the same dead end: unreadable. Gently shaking her head, the young woman looked back at the map. By the looks of it, the map was covered in writing. Circles that indicated bases, the lines and X's that struck out must've been bases that either have been abandoned or, for whatever reason, destroyed. For some reason, it didn't stick right to her. "You think with how much ground they've covered and the amount of territory they've claimed for their quarters of operation, the last thing you'd expect is them either abandoning it or just straight up destroying it." She pointed at a few marks that matched with what she said. She read out a few names of the bases that no longer ruled under the organization regardless of their fate, then explained, "That's a lot to give up, and I doubt they were overrun by other syndicates. Is this routine for them?"
The soldier gave another nonchalant shrug, her eyes remained on the map. "Hell if I know. I escaped years ago. ...But they haven't pull off anything like this when I was around. At least, as far as I'm aware." She admitted. An interesting fact. The organization did this for who knew how long, but the question was why? On the other hand, Yoguri didn't seem too concerned with the cause of the numbers in their bases lowering. "But, that doesn't matter. Whatever they're doing to their bases is on them. Right now, we need to focus on finding Ittar's Vision." She said.
Shorette gritted her teeth and sucked in air as a small wince at Yoguri's determination of finding the artifact. "Except... it kind of does matter. See how much's been crossed out and whatnot. Who's to say they've moved bases after they destroyed them or left them be and took the artifact with them?" She said. "For all we know, this map could be outdated. That artifact could be anywhere. They could be anywhere." It was a truth Shorette didn't want to consider, but it had to be pointed out. They could be anywhere not in the area, but on the entire planet. They could even be in a different region.
This time, emotion flickered on Yoguri's face. For a second, it looked like she was about to burst. A sense was rage was about to unload. Shorette watched Yoguri's grip on the map tightened, almost ripping it apart. "I'm... I'm sorry, Yoguri. I know it's not something you'd want to hear, but I'd rather not feed you false hope and be met with disappointment down the line." She genuinely felt empathy for the soldier. Her home was ruined and now the only thing that represented of what was ever left of it was not just stolen, but could be at any continent, not just on the one they were on.
"Then we'll look. We'll cover every single surface on the planet until we find the damn thing. They can move around and destroy all they want, eventually they'll have no place to run, no place to hide. Then, I'm recovering Ittar's Vision and preserve it so Nifara lives on forever." Yoguri spoke with resolution, set to find the artifact even if it may risk her life in return. It was admirable, but unlike the soldier, Shorette knew her limits. The young woman also wanted her to know that such an operation was not worth it in the end.
"Look Yoguri, your determination is commendable, but you have to understand where your limits lie. You can only go so far before you realize the cards won't fall completely in your favor. Even if you do find a way to make things smooth over, improvise, sometimes it's out of your reach." Shorette explained.
Yoguri threw the paper down and aggressively turned her body towards the young woman. She sneered and closed the distance between her and Shorette, nostrils flared. "And what? Just give up after they've fucked up my home? After everything they've done?!" She yelled. There it was, the anger that eventually took over and clouded Yoguri's judgement. She could snap further at any minute, but Shorette stood her ground. She understood how she felt, but the young woman needed to bring her down to reality.
"All I'm saying is learn where your limitations lie. This could take months, years, even. And we're going to be overrun by hundreds of soldiers. By now, they probably might've sold it off. I'm just being realistic with you, Yoguri. It's for your own good." Shorette explained. She knew what it was like to get riled up, to seek out revenge, but in the end, it wasn't worth the consequences that'd come along if the young woman didn't know what she was doing with a clear mind.
But Yoguri refused to hear anymore. "Then like I said, by all means, you can piss off. I can do this on my own. You've nothing to gain from any of this anyway. Ain't that right? Ain't that how your kind work?!" She yelled.
"Come on, Yoguri, that's not- ...What the hell? Another one?!"

Another rumble vibrated below the two women's feet, once again almost losing their balance from the rumble nearly caught them off guard. "Just why are they so determined to blow this city up?! They already did the job on the second blow!" Shorette exclaimed. This earthquake, however, was different. The shaking, it grew closer, more violent. Then, the entrance that was once caved in burst wide open, all the debris that covered sent flying in different directions. "Whoa!" Shorette exclaimed as she ducked for cover, Yoguri followed suit. What kind of bombs did they plant in the damn cave, the young woman would've thought. But what she saw at the entrance of it was anything but what she expected.
A penguin-like creature bust through the blocked exit with all of its might as it held its arms up to flex the muscles that would be on its flippers. Its eyes were closed as it bellowed a cheer. The machine looked to be near six feet tall and a heavy set. "Finally! I am free!" Its voice was high pitched with a nasal tone as it began to flex out its body into different poses. "Haha! I still got it! No falling rocks can hold down the great, the ultimate, the legendary Pengu, the training machine! HOO-AH!" It yelled as a big grin could be seen on its beak.
Shorette and Yoguri gave each other quick glances before they stared at the large machine before them. "What in the actual hell is that damned thing?" The soldier whispered to Shorette. Odd, it seemed like Yoguri didn't spot the large machine that was placed near the back of the building during her frantic search. Who even knew how long that thing was stored inside.
"Well... it's probably an android, that much I can tell you." Shorette answered. "The better question to ask was the thing was off, so what made it activate?" She asked. If she had to guess, it might've been in sleep mode... hibernation mode? It still didn't explain how it turned on, but it was a start.
The so called "Pengu" continued to adore its body, kissing sounds could be heard from its beak as it pecked at his "biceps". After a few more seconds of admiring itself, it finally spotted the duo that stared at it in confused awe. Its eyes went wide open with a dramatic gasp before it immediately dropped into a battle stance. "Intruders! Nay, troublemakers! NAY! TERRORISTS!" It yelled in almost a ridiculous heroic sense while it pointed at the duo with the end of its flipper. "You were the ones that destroyed our base! Prepare to meet your end, evil doers!" It declared.
"Now hold on, you have the wrong idea." Shorette called as she rose her hands to signal that she meant no harm. It seemed like even the robot was unaware of the plans of Nifara being blown up. It was either about to be transported to another base, or it was abandoned. Given what happened when the first explosion went off, there was no intention to salvage anything or anyone that remained in the cage. The poor thing. It showed blind loyalty without realizing that its owner, presumably "Fizzy", had no qualms in easily disposing the machine. "We weren't the ones that brought the city down to rubble. It was one of your leaders." She exposed.
While Yoguri stood quiet and observed the machine, "Pengu" looked as if he was at disbelief. He huffed a a hearty laugh and returned his attention back to the duo. "A VERY likely story, terrorist! There is no way that someone like Fizzy or even Tofoo would dare try to jeopardize their own soldiers and a valuable asset like myself into their own disintegration! Perhaps it was a test of the sort to see how strong I am to survive such a devastating event that you two created!" He claimed.
"Listen, tin can." The soldier finally spoke as she groaned in annoyance. "Your precious Fizzy was the one that made the call to blow up my home. Why? Hell if I know. We were just almost collateral damage. We overheard one of those soldiers say it and even Fizzy herself admitted to it from saying she had a demolition to complete." She said.
For a moment, incredulity was shown on the android's face. He couldn't believe what he heard. There was no way, he'd thought. If one of the soldiers claimed and Fizzy confirmed it, then did that really mean... he was disposable? "No! You two are liars! You're just trying to mess with my programming! Override me with unstable emotions!" He cried.
Shorette shook her head. "No, 'Pengu', was it? We have no reason to lie- We-"
"NO!" The android yelled as it got back into its battle stance. "YOU LIE! LIARS, I TELL YOU, LIARS! I DISLIKE LIARS!" Pengu continued to yell.
Yoguri arched an eyebrow at Shorette as she got into her own battle stance. Seemed like the fight was inevitable, so might as well lean into it. "Something tells me we have to knock some sense into this mechanical idiot, don't we?" She asked.
Shorette shrugged before a nod came along. "Let's not roughen it up too much. Maybe it could be useful for us later down the line." She suggested. She didn't know how strong the machine is, but it was possible that it can provide value to the two in other ways... like perhaps tracking down where the Ittar Vision could be.

The duo and "Pengu" held their stares for as long as they could, patiently waiting for someone to make the first move. Finally, it looked like the machine's beak had a smirk. "Fine, then. I was always told 'ladies first', but I suppose I could break the ice and heat things up!" He declared. "Get it? Because I'm a penguin who's better fitted for cold weather, but here we are, in warm weather? Ha!" The machine laughed triumphally. "Now then... time to get serious!" It said. The machine began to yell as white ki began to surround its figure, trying to power up. Rocks and pebbles levitated around Pengu while it charged. Its yell grew louder as the ground they stood on began to shake. Yes... it could feel it... it was getting stronger! And these two were going to feel his wrath!
"That's right... Cower! COWER I SAY! HOLD THE INCREDIBLE POWER I HOLD, THE INCREDIBLE STRENGTH THAT I- GAH!" The machine's epic speech was cut short as Shorette already rushed at it. With her leg pulled back and twirled it into a spinning kick right at "Pengu's" head. The kick caused the machine to lose its balance and interrupt its powerup. Shorette then pushed her foot forward onto the machine's stomach, causing it to stumble back and further lost its balance. "H-HEY!" It yelled, its flippers wobbled as an attempt to realign himself.
Before "Pengu" could protest, Yoguri dashed from behind and hastily approached the machine. She drew a fist back and propelled it forward directly at the machine, but "Pengu" barely dodged what would've been a harsh punch straight in its face by swaying to the side. Yoguri then used her other other fist already balled up and swung it at the android. Her first perfectly connected to the side of "Pengu's" face, throwing it completely off balance. "Whoa!" "Pengu" landed right on its side, but it was quick to recover back on its feet.
Yoguri already stood over "Pengu", ready to launch another attack. A kick to be delivered right at its stomach, the android's reflexes began to adapt as it caught the soldier's leg. With its surprising strength, it lifted and slung Yoguri in the air, causing her to spin out of control. Though Yoguri was able to halt in the air with her use of flight to prevent her from soaring any further. She turned around and immediately flew back down at "Pengu" at high speed with her fist out in front of her. When she was close, "Pengu" already had its guard up by crossing his flippers into an X in front of his face to successfully block the punch.
What "Pengu" was unable to foresaw was Shorette running at him from behind and jump up to wrap an arm around its neck and pulled it back, momentarily breaking its guard. Yoguri took the opportunity to step back on the ground and held her hand out. A bright yellow glow was emitted from her hand as a powerful ki blast was released and flew right at the android. Shorette unwrapped her arm around "Pengu's" neck and jumped back to let the machine take the force from the blast.
An explosion from the blast rumbled the ground as it was slammed into the android. Smoke temporarily hid the area with Shorette calling out, "I said not to roughen it up too much! We still need it for any information it knows!" amongst the smoke.
"I didn't! Besides, even if I did, it's not like it knows anything if Fizzy didn't even bother to try and take her toy out before she destroyed Nifara!" Yoguri called back up. Even when the soldier wanted to put the metal can down for good, she had to hold back. She had no idea what kind of information "Pengu" had, or whether or not it'd be actual useful information, but as the young woman said, maybe it could useful.
As the smoke settled, "Pengu" could be seen on its back, almost dazed as a few bruises and marks were seen on its body. "Ugggh...." It gently moaned. In just a couple of seconds, the android performed a kip up and landed right back on its feet. "N-Now wait just a darn minute!" The android yelled as it shot its flat flippers up in the air. "That's completely not fair and totally uncalled for! Not only did I not finish my speech, but I was double teamed! Neither of you had the courtesy of making it at least a one on one! I know you're terrorists, bad guys, unruly people! But at least have some honor!" It yelled.

Shorette sighed and shook her head while Yoguri looked like she was ready to take out a gun and shoot the android right in the head. It looked like the young woman had more patience than the soldier, so she had to take control. "For the last time, we're not terrorists or the ones responsible for the explosions." She said. "Like Yoguri said, there's no gain for her to destroy her own home." Despite the machine being unaware of the soldier's previous affiliation with the organization, she could only hope the android could see reason.
Even though it was practically a repeat of denial, it looked like "Pengu" was in deep thought. It turned around and stared at Yoguri, almost trying to study her. "Yoguri... that name actually sounds familiar!" He said. It went silent and completely still as a few beeping noise echoed from the machine. "Yoguri... Yoguri..." He mumbled the name to himself. Finally, he set out a gasp, almost flabbergasted at what his data discovered. "That's right, Yoguri! You were apart of the Society of Welvth!" He came into realization, although the soldier herself was lost as it was written on her face. If Shorette had to guess, it seemed that while the android was familiar with who Yoguri was, the same couldn't be said reversed. "Look at ya! All grown up! And here I thought they moved you elsewhere!" It exclaimed with a big smile on its beak. "But wait... 'were' apart... you left! But since when? And why?" It asked.
Yoguri shot a glare at Shorette with the young woman shrugging in response. She then looked back at "Pengu" and responded, "A few years back. Didn't like how many people died on their hands or how they forced people to serve under them, me included. Didn't like the values they held and their overall message. They've destroyed everything Nifara stood for and took the one thing that Nifara would be remembered by. I want it back, so I went against them." She answered honestly, her tone firm.
"Hmm... I see...!" "Pengu" said with fascination. "So you went rogue... I'm surprised they didn't hunt after you and put you down!" It laughed, seemingly trying to make light of the situation with a grim joke that only it found funny.
Yoguri narrowed her eyes at the machine with a little snear. "Yeah, I'm surprised too." She said.
"If I may just interrupt the heartwarming reunion, how exactly do you know Yoguri? You seem to know her, but she doesn't seem to remember you." Shorette pointed out.
"Pengu" looked back at Shorette and gave a soft chuckle. "I remembered seeing Yoguri when she was just a small girl. I've always seen her running around, always trying to make her own adventures... but I wasn't stationed in Nifara. I've only came around when instructed to, so I wasn't around as often compared to other bases." It explained. "I also have a database of everything logged into my system, so I'm able to look up a bunch of handy things!" "Pengu" explained further. She took a moment to pause to get a good look at the young woman before it continued. "You, however, I'm unfamiliar with. You don't seem to have any relations to the Society of Welvths... and you're not some sort of enemy logged into the database as far as I'm aware of... are you perhaps a friend of Yoguri's?" It asked.
"Eh... more like someone reaching acquaintance level and just a kindhearted soul who's willing to help her out. She's getting used to me though, as am I with her." Shorette joked.
"Help her out? With what exactly?" "Pengu" asked.
"Ittar's Vision. It's the only thing preserved from what was once Nifara, and I want it back. It's the least I deserve from those assholes." Yoguri cut in.
"Pengu" crossed its flippers to its chest as it stood there in contemplation. "Hmm... such an artifact should be preserved, that I can agree on." He pondered. "And admittedly, I haven't been so found with how the organization have functioned in these recent months. I could go on about their terrible work ethic! Even their mannerisms! Always so rude, I tell you!" He exclaimed. "And if what you said about Fizzy blowing up the base... with me inside it... then..." The machine trailed off, almost somber at the reality that Fizzy had no care for the penguin android.
"So, does this mean you'll help us?" Shorette asked.
"Pengu", after hearing the question, couldn't help but bellow a hearty laugh before it returned its attention back to the young woman. "Why, of course! Like I said, they've been incredibly rude and ungrateful to me these days!" It said. "BUT! I will help... in under one small, tiny condition to confirm my offer to assist you!" It continued

Yoguri levitated up above and moved over to descend next to Shorette, her arms crossed against her chest. She leaned over to the young woman's ear and whispered, "You sure this thing can help us?" Understandably so, the soldier didn't trust the android at all, even when the machine claimed that the organization was far from being kind and appreciative of its efforts. Not only that, but the android never claimed it separated its affiliation from the Society of Welvth. "As... happy going as it is, I have no doubt its programming is still loyal to the org. I don't think it's worth us getting screwed over eventually." She added.
Shorette sighed, the soldier made a good point. What if it was still loyal? What if it turned the duo in? At the same time, there was no other lead to get to Nifara's artifact, so what other choice did they have? "And as much as I do agree with you, there's nothing else that can help point out the possible whereabouts of where Ittarr's Vision. It's a gamble we have to take." She explained. Much to Yoguri's discontent sigh and a shake of her head, she stepped back to look at the android, letting Shorette continue to take charge. "Alright, then. What is it that we have to do for you?" She asked.
"Pengu" shook its head, a smile still on its beak. "Oh no, it's not you two that has to do me one little favor. Oh no, it's you!" It pointed its flipper right at Shorette. "You see, while I can search up what's registered in the group's database, which appears to be very much up to date, I can also read power levels! You know, how strong you are, and all. It's in the name!" It cheered. "And you, my dear friend, or well, fellow who is a woman, have very strong power within you. Stronger than Yoguri, might I add!" It said.
The duo exchanged a glance at each other before Yoguri narrowed her eyes at "Pengu". "She's stronger than me? She doesn't even look the part. I ain't saying she doesn't have what it takes to hold herself in a fight... but if you compare her to me, then..." Shorette couldn't help but crack a smile at the android's observation, almost flattered that she was seen as strong of the sort.
"Oh, but she does have the strength and agility!" "Pengu" pointed out, almost excited as he continued to talk. "There's no doubt that you're strong as well, Yoguri, but between the two of you, she's just stronger. And the funny thing? It feels suppressed... either she's holding back or she's not quite familiar in unlocking her potential... a special case, I'll say..." The machine said.
"Alright, alright. So you chose me to carry out your favor. And what is it that I have to do, exactly?" Shorette asked, cutting in "Pengu's" odd fascination of her power.
The android's smile on its beak grew wider at the question. "Easy... all you have to do is fight me!" It exclaimed. Before either of the two women could say anything, the machine chose to elaborate further immediately. "You see, I was specifically designed to help the soldiers get stronger, measure their power, what they need to improve, etcetera. You have power greater than those I've trained with since my creation!" He explained.
"So... all you want me to do is just... fight you. I don't have to beat you, there's nothing at stake, just... fight you." It was an odd request. The android was very eager to see how well she could fighter, or rather feel how strong she was through the fight. It wasn't anything she'd turn down; there were no consequences if she lost and she didn't have to completely go all out either. It was a easy little trade off, but nonetheless a strange one. "Simple enough. I'm assuming Yoguri here could only watch." She added.
"Pengu" nodded its head. "That's right. She might get a turn later after this if she wants, or maybe after we've gotten back that valuable artifact for us to keep safe from such vile hands! But for now... just think of this as a test of the sorts for my sake. Just something to measure, you know?" It mentioned.
"And just how do we know you won't turn us in? For all we know, you could be recording us and sending it back to whoever the hell's watching." Yoguri accused the android.
The android quickly shook his head while he waved his flippers in denial. "Oh, nothing like that! If that were the case, soldiers would've already arrived by now and take you two in. Trust me, I have nothing to gain by working against you, only with you!" It reassured. "So that said... what do you say? Would you like to have a quick little fight?" It asked.
"...Alright." Shorette answered as she nodded her head. "I'll take you on for your little test. I hope I won't disappoint." She added.
"Pengu's" face brightened with glee. "Oh, goodie goodie! I have no doubt in my mind that you'll disappoint!" He exclaimed.
