West City. The Western Continent. Two things so far beyond where Liek had ever travelled before. It took the concept of what the boy knew about the world and threw it out the window. Sure, it wasn’t a completely wild departure from what the boy had seen of the Eastern Continent, but it was still significantly different. The Eastern Continent was dominated by greenery all around, with the dominant form of forest being comprised mostly of bamboo. Meanwhile the forests he’d seen so far in the West where more like the forest valley he’d grown up in, with thick trunked trees and dense woodlands, but also with a desert, the first the boy had ever seen.
But he wasn’t here for sight seeing, the boy had a purpose in mind. He was searching for one individual in particular, one that had quickly become precious to him despite what could be considered a bumpy start. A good first impression, a terrible second one and then followed up by reconciliation and a solemn promise of mutual aid and support. That person was, of course, Opherla the Wolf-girl Saiyan.
Before coming he had done one thing he was sure would probably amuse her greatly; he’d gotten a small spray bottle filled with water and stowed it away in one of his pockets.
Like the continent the city itself, which the young hybrid was currently flying over, was a good deal different from what East City had been like. The city of the West was far louder and busier then the one of the East, it was also dominated by significantly more cylindrical buildings then East City had been. The teen could only speculate as to the reason, but surmised that, given that the city was hundreds of years old at this point, it’s entirely possible that the different architecture hearkens to a time before Earth was unified under a single monarchy, when the cultures between the East and West where more at odds and less homogenised then they where now.
But that was all something to learn more about at another time. For now the boy focused on his goal, and reached out with his senses, filtering out the sea of low intensity signatures to hone in on and find the one belonging to Opherla. That sensation that was a mixture of kindness, passion, a hint of spice and a little bit of something feral. And lots and lots of power.
It wasn’t too hard, the city was dominated by people who had never done a days training, by the standards of the average ki-user, and had exceedingly small ki signatures. There where larger signatures scattered throughout the city, but very few broke past what could be enumerated at around 100. Probably the fitness obsessed among the normal people, or martial artists who where not aware of ki, but trained their hardest anyway.
Honing in on Opherla’s ki signature the boy cast his eyes in that direction and spotted when the older girl had described to him in the Break Wasteland; a two story house with a spaceship parked outside of it.
A small smile crossed the teen’s lips at the sight of it, both because he thought the place looked nice and because he felt a little proud of himself for finding it when it’s so far outside his usual range.
With his destination reached he did the last thing he needed to do before he could find and greet his friend properly, begin his gliding descent to land.

Opherla hadn't even thought about Liek coming by later on today. Her mind had only been on one issue ever since the news went across the telepathic airwaves. Callion, the Saiyan Monk, was worried of an event happening in the vast reaches of space that could spell danger for the planet, and Opherla's worries she once had as a weaker, younger, inexperienced and definitely less powerful pup, were now returning to her. But she couldn't let those fears win. Not in the least. Liek may have found and was descending down to her house... but Opherla wasn't there right now. That was because she was far from it and the rest of the city, in her training grounds far from harming anyone in West City, or her own place, as currently, Opherla had her eyes closed, focusing on the Lunar Energies that gave her strength. Opjerla knew they could only do so much.... but right now, any help to be prepared to defend the planet was a good help.
Opherla's mind race to everything that was at stake here. Earth, its people, her friends, everything she was working so hard for to protect and be a beacon of hope for, it was now culminating to this, as Opherla's eyes narrowed as she soon began to slowly gain power, as if the moon itself was blessing her with the strength required to unlock the next step to more power, as Opherla's eyes narrowed, as she firmly planted her feet to the ground to ready herself for the process of unlocking the transformation, as she grit her teeth and felt the power rush through her.
A blue aura of lunar energy began forming around Opherla, as she began to feel the rush of power to herself, as she clenched her fists to brace herself further for it, as the aura enveloped her, beginning to increase in power dramatically.
"Haaaaaa.... HAAAAAAA!!!!!" Opherla yelled with the power increase, her adrenaline flowing while the transformation was taking place. Her hair began to fluctuate between its usual red, and a dark brown color, while her eyes were flashing a lunar blue from the aura around her. The lunar energy was coalescing around her as she was closer to unleashing the transformation in full, close to unlocking a new level of power. Regardless of what anyone thought, Liek, ABAS, whoever wanted to tell her of her superiority complex, this wasn't for that. This transformation was for the very future of Earth and its people, and Opherla was not about to let this world die on her watch!
"The world needs me... and if it needs me... then I need... to become.... STRONGER! HAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!" Opherla yelled as her power erupted, where those who could sense ki everywhere on Earth could feel that somewhere, somehow, someone had unlocked a brand new level to their powers, as Opherla now stood, in her similar physique, with a lunar blue aura coursing around her, complete with new brown hair, and blue eyes that seemed to radiate with lunar energy of their own. Flexing her muscles after transforming, what should have been elation... was only substituted by concern and disappointment.
'Callion said this threat on Namek was strong.... I doubt, I HIGHLY doubt, that this transformation is enough... I need to keep getting stronger. I can't let anyone down.' Opherla thought to herself as she closed her eyes and sighed. Yes, it was a step ahead for her, a stronger form on her path to becoming a protector of Earth, but she needed to unlock more of her power. This Mastered Fury... it wasn't going to be enough. Mastered Fury... yes, she still felt the urges of her Werewolf form coursing through her... but, as of right now, she had full control over them. And for the future, she needed to ensure she never lost control of it. Ever again.

Liek had knocked on the front door, which all the movies he’d watch told him was the typical thing to do when you visited the house of a friend. But after several minutes, and no one answering the door after a few repeated attempts, the boy decided another approach was necessary and went into snooping mode. First he peered into all the windows he could find and saw nothing but rooms with no inhabitants, then he tried the backyard where the space pod was landed. With no one in sight he even tried looking in the pod, only to find it empty as well.
He could have sworn she’d be here. Maybe his senses where having an off day? That message from Callion did have him concerned. While he had no concept of just how powerful Callion actually was, or what kind of threat would get him worried, he knew that he had to take the warning seriously. That was why he’d been so determined to meet with Opherla, to do all they could to prepare in any way possible.
Though his senses where off he could tell he was at the right place, it met the description and he could feel her presence all over the home and pod.
Then it slammed into the sudden bolt of power, far greater then what he felt during the Tossed Salad Incident The moment he felt the massive power he could tell it was Opherla’s signature anywhere, but was shocked by how much power she was putting out. Volda’s breath! There was so much!
But why was she suddenly putting out so much power? Wait?! Was she under attack?
His chest tightened with worry as he honed in on her exact location and flew off in her direction as quickly as he could.
It didn’t take the boy long to reach her and fly to her at top speed, immediately dropping into his mid-air stance at her side with concern palpable on his lips, “Ophy! Are you ok? Are you under attack?” He hadn’t even taken the time to take in her appearance before getting ready to fight. But now he did and he noticed the changes rather quickly; brown hair and glowing azure eyes. His own blue eyes widened as he backed away slightly, not in fear, but in order to look her over better, “What in Basirious’ breath?”
He wasn’t entirely sure what this was, but he was more then certain that Opherla hadn’t decided to go and die her hair and start wearing contact lenses. She really did not come across as that kind of girl, nor would it explain the leap in power, nor the aura.

The sound of Liek's voice made Opherla jump out of being startled as she leapt about 800 feet into the air thanks to her brand new power level. "AAAAH! WHOA!!!!" Opherla exclaimed in a mix of startle and shock as she quickly tried to get control of herself in the air, quickly managing to do so as she sighed and soon descended back down, shaking her head. "For Kami's sake, Liek, you scared the daylight's out of me!" Opherla exclaimed as she landed, her aura still flaring as she looked at Liek with a warm smile. "Still, it's good to see you again. And no, no I'm not under attack." Opherla reassured the young man with her smile, before it turned into a frown as she averted her gaze. "...No, it's me unlocking a new level of power. Another superiority scenario, I know. I get that it looks like that." Opherla said to Liek as she closed her eyes in solemnity, clenching her fists. "But unlocking this new level of power just might mean I can survive what's coming. I can't defest it. Far from it, given how concerned Callion seemed to be with his message. I'm nowhere close, just yet." Opherla explained as she looked at Liek with her lunar blue eyes. "You ought to know. You heard him, right? Namek is gone, or is about to be. I forgot. I just know it's doomed from what Callion told us. And if I can't get strong enough before that threat comes here... then everything I've worked for, to protect this planet and be its beacon, will be for naught. I'll have failed everyone who lives here... and especially, I'll have failed friends like you, like Serena, like Athren, Zaks, Tanya, Terra..." Opherla said as she spoke like a warrior who was carrying the burden of a city, or heck, at this point, a mountain, on her shoulders as tears shed from her eyes at saying this, as they evaporated away from the power as she suddenly yelled in frustration. "AAAAAAAH!!!!!" Opherla yelled as her power flared, as she dropped to her knees with tears of hot anger falling and evaporating down her face.
"Am I ever going to be strong enough...!? Am I ever going to be able to defend my home!? Will I ever... will I ever make them proud..." Opherla cried as she closed her eyes tightly, her emotions flaring heavily as her aura was still strong around her, but was slowly burning down, as if the aura went from fierce anger to sad burning of guilt and self-resentment, as Opherla had to shove that aside. She couldn't be weak in front of Liek. Liek was depending on her to help him get stronger. And she intended to do just that as she gulped down her emotions and got up, soon turning to Liek with a smile again, her aura fading for now, but the brown hair and eyes remained.
"Sorry... I can't let my emotions get in the way of us getting stronger, can I?" Opherla asked with a smile, wiping away any remaining tears. "You'll have to get used to my new look for a while, Liek. I want to train while I'm still in this form. If I can't maintain this level of power in everything I do, then it's not gonna do me any good out there in a fight. So, uhm... how do I look?" Opherla asked, flipping her brown hair a bit and posing for the young man, looking for an honest answer on how she looked to him, without her trademark red hair and golden eyes, as she suddenly laughed before he had a chance to answer. "Don't answer that, I'm messing with you. Anyways, let's go back to my place, I have something for you, as I promised." Opherla would say, gesturing for Liek to follow her back to her home once he got his thoughts in line after seeing her transformation for himself.

Was it because he’d arrived so suddenly? Was her mind so filled with thoughts that she hadn’t noticed him? Or was his power level so small now compared to hers that he was practically in ‘stealth mode’ to her senses? The answer didn’t really matter as the result was the same no matter what the reasons where. His arrival had send the girl zooming away in fright and, frankly, Liek couldn’t help but laugh a bit at initial reaction.
But she recognised him quickly and was soon back down at his level and explaining. He was glad she wasn’t under attack, in all honesty he wasn’t sure how much of a help he’d have been in any fight where she had to release her old transformed power, let alone the power this new form was outputting. He frowned a bit at the words that came from her next, though he didn’t voice his opinion right away. He had suspicions about what had her motivated to work towards unlocking this new power.
Most of the names she spoke meant nothing to him, but they where clearly precious to his friend. If he ever had the chance to meet them he would put his best foot forward in making the meeting a friendly one.
But there was one name he recognised; Callion. That and the message he’d sent.
“This isn’t a superiority scenario, at least it’s not in my opinion. You aren’t doing this to show off, you’re doing this so you can help everyone right?” Liek replied with a smile on his face. He’d have offered her a hug, or a hand on the shoulder but he wasn’t sure if they where close enough for either of those yet. He continued to try to reassure her, “Wanting power to help others is completely different from wanting it for your own self-satisfaction. I think seeking this power was a selfless act.”
As she suggested he comment on her looks he couldn’t help but give her another once over. While some sounds did manage to escape his lips they amounted only to incoherent mumbling. Meanwhile in his head it was absolute bedlam. At no point up until this point had he seriously thought about Opherla’s appearance beyond how pretty her yellow eyes had been (which he still considered the better colour). But now, at her prompting, the floodgates had been opened and his mind actively processed the visual information his eyes had collected since first meeting the girl.
Obviously he quite liked her base form’s eyes. But his mind honed in on other features he quite liked, like her rear, her tail, her thighs and her neck and shoulders. Deep within his demon blood stirred slightly and thoughts of puppies crossed his mind. The only suggestion of the thoughts running through his head was the growing blush lighting up the boy’s face.
Huh? Wait she said something? The boy’s lagging brain struggled to find the processing power needed to understand her words for moment but soon realised she was asking him to return to her place to get something she had for him? Surprisingly his mind immediately recalled the promise of training gear. Unfortunately his mouth still lagged behind his brain a bit, “Huh? What? Oh! Right! The… stuff! Yeah.” Was his oh so intelligent reply to the girl as he took to the air back towards her home.

Opherla couldn't help but find relief in finally hearing Liek's words of her not having a superiority complex for another transformation. After what she did to Salada, Opherla had wondered if every leap and bound she made would come back to her being seen as an act to make herself stronger by Liek or someone else. With this being the first time he admits she was selfless about doing something, it brought a warm sense of relief to the Lycan Saiyan's face as she finally felt things between her and Liek were at long last smoothing out for the better.
Opherla couldn't help but laugh harder at the young boy's stammering as he looked at her figure. The exuberant humor and joy Opherla felt during this moment of laughter was unlike any she had felt before. She had laughed, truly, for the first time in months. And honestly? It was lightening her spirits, making her focus on time.with Liek more than the impending threat that was likely coming to Earth as Opherla couldn't help but have a bright smile on her face now as they took off together for her home.
It wasn't long before they both arrived at her place, and Opherla entered the house for a few minutes, as Liek heard some shuffling around inside, before she would come back out, a box in hand where she kept the weighted clothing in as she handed it to Liek. "I tried to pick something that suited your style in my opinion. These are the heaviest weighted clothes on the market you can get. Trust me, it gets pretty difficult at first, but after a while of training in them, you get used to the weight." Opherla reassured as she passed the box on to Liek, expectantly watching him to see if he would try on the clothing, severely hoping he would as she held her gaze of excitement after handing him the clothes.

The flight back to Opherla’s place was mostly uneventful. Most of it was spent by the flustered boy doing his best to purge his mind of the intrusive thoughts the girl had, unintentionally and innocently, implanted in his head. A part of him knew it was only because of his young age that such thoughts ran so rampant through his mind, but that didn’t mean he was okay with it. The wolf-girl was a friend, and as far as Liek was aware not only would that be as far as things went between them his also didn’t think friends should think of friends the way he had been.
The fact he was filled him with silent shame.
To clear his head he practised a meditation exercise. Focus on flying, focus on the wind, hear the wind, feel the wind. Let the waves of the air crash over him as he rides along it’s flow. Be at one with it, allow it guide him through it’s currents, don’t resist and let it help him. The boy exhaled and relaxed into the embrace of Basirious’ winds. If Opherla looked back to see him in this moment she would have seen for herself on area where Liek was absolutely the superior.
As Liek understood it, when most ki users fly they need to keep a conscious check on the positioning of this body, keeping their arms, legs and bodies positioned just right to ensure they kept flying properly. There was always a level of tension for the majority of ki-fliers. In this moment, Liek had no such tension, his arms and legs where completely relaxed, his eyes where closed and he seemed to be less outright flying as just… floating… despite being horizontal to the ground and moving at high speed, just as she was.
Whether or not she looked he didn’t notice one way or the other.
As they arrived at the girl’s house he seamlessly transitioned from meditation, which had worked at clearing his mind, back to full awareness, descending along with Opherla and gracefully landing. He waited patiently as she entered the home, he hadn’t been invited inside after all. It was rude to enter other people’s homes, or so he’d heard.
When she returned with the box he smiled, “Thank you so much for this Ophy!” He said with genuine gratitude, his eyes lighting up at the sight of the gear set in the box, “I swear, I’ll pay you back for this some day!”
With enthusiasm the boy shrugged off his jacket and shirt along with his boots. He then pulled out the weighted shirt from the box and put it on along with the boots, before adding the wristbands. Putting his jacket back on he tried to stand up on to have to put his hands on his knees to push himself up with a grunt.
“Yup.” He remarked with some strain, “This will take some getting used to...”

Opherla smiled as Liek put on the Super Weighted Clothing after she had gotten them for him. As she watched Liek put them on, her own mind drifted some to visions of what her future might be like, and as of now, she had two future suitors before her for a man to be with. On the one hand, she had Liek, a kind hybrid who was training to defend the planet and be a hero in his own right. He wasn't far from Opherla's age, which made him a very likely candidate for Opherla's future man to be. In honesty? Liek and Opherla's hearts plucked the same chords when it came to how they lived their lives, so in reality, a future when it was them together wasn't completely out of the question.
But on the other hand, there was Callion. The man who took Opherla on her first date, and won her over on that date and, currently, was a perfect age to take Opherla for his own wife. Of course, a man like him made Opherla wonder if he was already married. That would be pondered later, since right now her heart was focusing on just what life with Callion would be like, and as far as Opherla cared.... life with Callion was a life she also looked very much forward to. It would just come down to, in this situation then, which man would take her as a lover first, and who would make the steps to secure that future with Opherla at their side.
Snapping back to reality after seeing Liek struggle after putting on the weighted clothing, Opherla chuckled a bit as she looked at Liek. "Yep, you'll have that. That happened to me when I first got the jacket." Opherla remarked as she looked up and down Liek. "But uh.... for the future, I would recommend only wearing one of those sets of weighted clothing, and not the entire box set of them? They give you the box set so you can choose which one article of Heavy clothes you want to put on. They weren't intended to ALL be worn at the same time." Opherla remarked to Liek, seeing he had changed outfits from his usual outfit to the ENTIRE Super Weighted Clothes set that came in the box, as Opherla chuckled a little bit at seeing this, trying her best not to bust out laughing at Liek for putting on so many weights at one time. If there's one thing she knew Liek could do, it was make her laugh.

Opherla’s laughter was like music to his ears. He much preferred this happier version of her to the version he saw after the Tossed Salad Incident, as he’d internally started calling the encounter with Salada. Seeing the Lycan Saiyan all mopping about and sad made the boy’s chest ache and the top of his throat feel tighter and icky. It made him upset and want to cry as well. He just wanted to wrap her up tight in his arms and stroke her back until all the bad thoughts where washed away.
But when she laughed it was like everything became brighter. The boy was sure that if the sky was covered in black clouds and there was a torrential rain storm that seeing Opherla’s smiling, laughing face could make it feel like they where out on a midday summer’s day. That’s how much joy and warmth that spread through the teen boy when he saw and heard her laughing.
And he knew he would do almost anything for that smile. He’d conquer the Earth and hand her the throne if that’s what she wanted. It was a crazy thought, but that was the kind of motivation that he felt pounding in his chest. And with it came the realisation that what he was feeling wasn’t just simple infatuation.
It was crazy. It was stupid. He hadn’t known her for that long! But he had seen her at her worst. And he liked what she wanted to be…
But what if saying anything only lead to embarrassment or rejection? What if she was already involved with someone? A girl like her probably had suitors lining up as far as the eye could see…
While what did he really have to offer? He didn’t think he was all that attractive. He didn’t have some presence that was naturally magnetic to the opposite sex, like mystery, maturity or raw masculinity. He was just a kid with high hopes and a childish ideal of how the world should be…
Being so young he wasn’t able to hide this inner turmoil from his face, though he tried. It was clear to all but the most socially challenged that he hate things he wanted to say, but didn’t have the courage to do so.
Instead he just grinned weakly, still trying to hide his emotions, “No pain, no gain right? The sooner I can handle all of them the sooner I see progress!” With great effort he lifted both arms up in a ‘flex’ pose, with his legs bowed, “I got thi-” he keeled over with an ‘oomph’ followed by a sigh and a, “I don’t got this...”

Opherla sighed as she watched Liek struggle underneath the weight of all those weighted clothes, as she couldn't help but hang her head a little bit. It was like watching a toddler take their first steps, but they try to run instead of walk, as Opherla shook her head. She hadn't considered if the entire outfit was even more useful to be worn for more training gains, but Opherla knew that she had only ever used just the jacket to get stronger, so she knew that it wasn't beneficial for Liek to even attempt training while wearing the entire set of clothes.
"Liek, buddy, I'm not wearing a full set of weighted clothes, never have been, and look at how far I've come by my lonesome." Opherla remarked, as she folded her arms and sighed with a shake of her head. "Think of it this way, would you have been able to focus on the gains I've gotten after I took off my weighted clothes for you last time, if instead of just removing my jacket, I had to remove it all?" Opherla genuinely asked Liek as, sure, it was a very naughty thought to put in the young boy's mind, but Opherla knew from the get go that he was looking at her and having very interesting thoughts in his mind. Opherla knew that Liek's hormones were prime to make him a stammering mess around probably even the mention of Opherla without any clothing, but it was a mix of teasing him along with the seriousness of her question. Opherla would laugh if he made him a stammering mess again, because she genuinely found it hilarious when she made Liek unable to form proper sentences to respond to her.
"Okay, okay, sorry, let's put this in a different context." Opherla remarked, as she thought for a moment and then snapped her fingers. "You think you'd really look professional in front of others in a fight, if to remove your weighted clothes, you had to take off your whole outfit? Kind of embarrassing, isn't it? I don't think anyone wants to see you take on the evils of the world in just your boxers." Opherla remarked as she snickered at the thought. Liek, the boxer wearing hero, defeater of all evils using just his undergarments! The entire thought made Opherla laugh again as she couldn't hold a straight face at all during this conversation, even though she knew Liek only really needed the jacket of the weighted clothes to pull off the same caliper of training she was, but she couldn't help but find so much humor in this situation that she just burst out laughing at this entire thing! She was feeling bad about it somewhat, wondering if Liek was getting a bit irritated at how much she was laughing at him, but hopefully she could explain herself after this laughing fit. She nevet imagined Liek could be this fun to hang around!

Dangit, why’d she have go and be right? The only weighted clothing the girl had been wearing from the day they met had been her jacket, yet her power levels where soaring in the short time he’d known her. He looked over at his right arm as he lay on the ground and ponder what he was even doing. Why had he jumped straight to putting on as many weights as he could? Was he being a hypocrite? Was this his pathetic attempt at showing off in front of the girl he was infatuated with? Why? Why would he do something so stupid?! And after he’d chewed her out for showing off previously?
Oh sure, his attempt was a complete failure. But that didn’t mean he had tried to do exactly the same sort of thing he’d scolded her for.
He was snapped out of his inner self-depreciation by the words ‘remove it all’ in relation to Opherla. His mind processed her words and, just as she predicted the silhouette started to dominate his imagination. His eyes glanced at her and the image grew stronger, filling in the details of her face filling his cheeks to burn crimson, but at the same time his face to fill with shame. As predicted he stammered and stuttered, unable to properly form his words of protest. His eyes quickly darted away as he started to roll over and get both hands under him to push himself back into a sitting position on the ground.
While he started to remove the weights he conspicuously did all he could to keep his eyes off of the girl all while trying to banish the thoughts he kept telling himself he shouldn’t be having from his mind. In his mind there was no way she was teasing him with those thoughts on purpose, this was all one hundred percent innocent and it was his own darn mind making something weird out of it.
There was a certain sense to what she said about having to strip to his boxers to fight, even if he wouldn’t actually need to strip is pants even with what weights he was wearing now. But at the same time the part of him that had absorbed old comic books and movies couldn’t just let knock at heroes showing their boxers slide, “Hey! Heroes wear their underpants on the outside all the time!” He replied impetuously, “Plus I know a certain bat-themed hero even had a practical reason! His suit was heat resistant enough to survive reentry, except his face was exposed, so he used the outside boxers as a face covering to survive!”
He instantly regretted saying the words because well… firstly they where epicly nerdy. Secondly the factoid was kind of disgusting.
Her words and teasing where upsetting. But he could tell she wasn’t being mean spirited. Or he was too infatuated to acknowledge if she was. One of the two. Plus he liked her laughter, it meant she was happy. That made him happy, even if it stung.
The boy removed the weights he’d put on, replaced his original shirt and boots, and folded his old jacket before replacing it with the weighted one. Getting back up was still difficult, but not the overwhelming challenge it had been previously. And, bonus, the jacket was black! Just like his old one!

Opherla couldn't help but smile and try her best not to laugh more at the entire scenario of Liek's situation, as she was glad that someone like Liek could make her laugh at a time where the world was at stake and people were in danger. Sure, Callion's words and instructions were still planted in her mind, but Liek was able to make her forget about those worries, even for just a little while. From his stammering about picturing just what an all natural Opherla would look like, to even jabbing back at Opherla with a comment on superhero trousers, Opherla smiled brightly as she watched Liek change clothes and put on only the jacket while the rest of his original outfit was put back on.
"Haha, I knew you had a secret side to you." Opherla laughed at Liek's nerdy side as she wondered if she should inform him and show him about her plushie emporium, or as some called it, a plushie problem, as Opherla still held her smile all the while. "You read comics too, huh? I used too, it was a phase of mine. But I moved on from that to better things." Opherla stated as she soon folded her arms. "But let's get back on track to why you're here. Training. We have a couple options present to us, since I now sense your power level is strong enough to handle it." Opherla remarked, before she gestured to her Gravitron. "You and I can head in there to start training in higher gravity. Or..." Opherla remarked, as she gestured over to the training area she had just transformed in. "We can head over to that training area and get in touch with ABAS so we can keep the promise of the three of us training together in one place. Ultimately, I'll leave the decision to you, since I know you want to take training up a notch." Opherla stated as she looked at Liek with a confident smile, knowing whatever choice he would make, would be a good choice regardless if they went to train with ABAS, or hit the Gravitron for training.

Liek wasn’t a super nerd when it came to comics. He’d read a few, those being from the combined collection kept by his grandmother, and even then the majority of them where inherited from her friend when they passed. For the most part she’d collected movies and manga. The super hero comics mostly came from the original male of the group (who also contributed to the fantasy novel collection, games and about half of everything else on his own) and the group tomboy (who also had contributions to other parts of the collection). The romance movies and shoujo mange where mostly the girly-girl’s contribution. The romance novel collection came from the older woman in the group. The late comer to the group only added non-fiction and historical fiction contributions.
The teenager had read or watched pretty much all of it since that and training was all he had for entertainment. Like most children he’d found entertainment where he could, even if it meant hunting through a fifty something year old personal library.
“‘Better things’ is subjective.” Liek replied, “As long as someone isn’t hurting anyone else then I don’t think it’s right to dismiss what that person enjoys.” He wasn’t offended, per se, by what Opherla had said, but she did seem to have a habit of talking down about things. There where probably interests or hobbies that Opherla had, that Liek hadn’t learned about yet, that the boy wouldn’t have any interest in, but he would never say her interests where ‘less’ then anything he cared about. If they where important to that person then that was that.
“The answer is yes.” Was the boy’s half serious, half sarcastic reply, “I want to do both.” He held both hand out to his sides, “Now, or later, it doesn’t matter. I want to overcome any and all challenges you can think of throwing my way!” He turned towards her and felt like his heart was leaping into his throat. His pulse pounded as his cheeks lit up with anticipation of what he was about to say, “I-I…” He gulped, “...I want to keep you safe! The idea of you getting hurt… I hate it!” Biting his lip he added while blushing harder, “I know your strong. You’re so much stronger then me… Maybe it’s stupid… but that’s how I feel…” he hung his head, feeling like everything he just blurted out was massively stupid.
Not exactly a love confession, but for a boy that hadn’t felt this way before, it was progress.

Opherla literally froze on the spot the moment Liek cried out that he didn't want to see Opherla hurt. The very words resonated in Opherla's entire being, her entire body, as she choked trying to get words out to respond to that. How COULD she respond to that!? Sure, it wasn't exactly an "I love you," and yet... the delivery, the heartfeltness of the words the boy just blurted out, all of it crashed into Opherla as her heart received it, and now, she had herself in a predicament. Affection like this... it was similar to the affection that Callion himself showed. And Opherla had already confessed her love to Callion! But now, here, in this moment... Opherla was being confessed to by someone else, this boy she was training! This young man who desired her heart! This... this hopeful soul who screamed out what he truly desired. "I don't want to see you hurt!" Opherla clutched her heart after the words resounded within her again, as she grasped her chest. Her heart began to flutter once again. Fluttering as if she had just spoken to Callion, as if she had just received words full of affection and care from his very lips.
"L-Liek..." Opherla gasped as she tried to find the words to tell him. Her mind was racing as she tried to grasp for a sentence! Should she tell him she confessed to someone else already? Should she deny his request of love? Should she reciprocate, even though she ALREADY confessed to Callion? What should she do!? What was the right call in this situation!? The boy literally just began to pour his heart out, Opherla couldn't just... just shatter it! Opherla blushed, trying to figure out how in the world to deal with this situation...
Before she finally took a deep breath. She needed to calm down and rationally figure out what needed to be done here. Rationally speaking, Opherla had heard Callion talking about a woman named Ayu before. Opherla wondered if that was already an engagement he had going on, and perhaps that was something Opherla would need to avoid for right now. Liek was pouring his heart out to her... and though her heart may be in the hands of two different men... Opherla couldn't just leave Liek's words unreciprocated.
"Liek, I don't want to see you hurt either." Opherla admitted, as she looked at him. "If I'm honest... that's the entire reason why I wanted Salada to focus on me, and not you. Because I knew, as a Saiyan warrior, if she had beaten you, Liek, she would have not hesitated to hurt you badly. That mental image flashed in my mind... and I had to step in and let myself be her opponent... that's why I tried to assert my dominance over her. But that was wrong... I know that, deep down... but I only did it because I didn't want you to get hurt... or worse, killed." Opherla admitted with a blush as she looked at Liek with an apologetic look in her eyes. "I know it was wrong of me to do that... but in the end, it was for you, Liek. That's why I want to train you. That's why I want to help you become stronger. So that if I can't prevent you from getting hurt, you at least have a fighting chance." Opherla remarked, as she blushed and looked at Liek. "And yet... here you are, wanting to be stronger so you can protect me... that's sweet of you, Liek. Truly, it is." Opherla remarked with a smile as she soon pat Liek on the shoulder. "So let's get stronger... together. So we can keep each other safe. How does that sound?" Opherla remarked with a bright smile and a soft blush on her face, as her way of reciprocating Liek's feelings.

The boy let out a breath he hadn’t realised he had been holding, tension all throughout his body, that he hadn’t noticed either, was released all at once. Relief, that was the word for what he was feeling. The girl that had dominated his affections since he’d met her, had, at the very least, not outright rebuked his words. That fear, the fear of total rejection, had been clutching at his heart with icy claws from the moment his words had left his lips.
He didn’t know what he would have done if she had refused him. Thrown a temper tantrum? Thrown the weighted jacket back at her? Something equally stupid and childish? Maybe. Flown to somewhere secluded to cry himself to exhaustion? Very likely.
But those concerns where proven to be without merit. Opherla’s reply had been, although not overt acceptance, had been favourable. And, in a way, they where reciprocal, or at the very least, an admission of feeling similarly. At least, in Liek’s mind, he did not read them as an outright acceptance. For someone who couldn’t say those exactly what he wanted to say, he was equally bad without hearing things directly.
She wanted to keep him safe. She admitted it was part of her motivation for her poorly executed actions with Salada, also admitting that it didn’t make it right. A correct assessment given she could have let him face the Saiyan, as inexperienced as he was, and intervened if the elder Saiyan had started going to far. Or just not gone in looking for a fight from the start.
The blushing boy stood up straighter and nodded shyly, his cheeks still burning. The shy smile on his face was none-the-less as bright as the girl’s own. “Yeah. Let’s bEcome the ultimate team!” he replied, pumping a fist in the air, his voice cracking slightly with the happiness he felt.
