Chapter 1: Forethought forethought: careful consideration of what will be necessary or may happen in the future The abandoned city of Nifara. It was once a prosperous underground city that flourished in a close knitted community, cautious of outsiders and protective of what the city stood for; peace and health, away from the corruption and evil that was unleashed on the planet and to build a civilization where danger is lackluster and true happiness will strive. It was a city that Shorette was familiar with. Her curiosity as a child for her father's profession caused her to snoop around his office and come across a file labeled "The Fall of Nifara". There were dozens of pages that noted the structure of the city, the culture, its inhabitants (mainly humans amongst other races), the food, laws, and most importantly, how it became perished. Every single piece of information that was tied to the city to learn more about how its society and how it functioned. A very prominent point that represented Nifara and what it was as a whole was its monumental statue that stood at the center from behind: their deity, Ittar. Ittar was their goddess of justice and order, standing in for balance away from evil. It wasn't often did she witness people who were religious or even believed in some sort of god, which was also a major contributing factor to Nifara, to learn more about the religion they practiced in. Unfortunately, not all of the documents in regards to the city was completed. Many pieces were missing, being under the assumption that her father was never able to collect all the information and eventually abandoning the project altogether. As she wondered why, Shorette felt it would be appropriate to help finish what her father started. Though it wasn't just because she wanted to help complete "The Fall of Nifara", but in addition to wanting to learn more about the city. Shorette entered a cave that was located deep below the snowy mountains, met with jagged rocks and debris scattered all over the floor. Around her back was a large backpack filled with "The Fall of Nifara" documents along with a few useful tools: her phone, a pencil, a screwdriver, a rope with a grappling hook, and a belt with a flashlight. She didn't carry much for the sake of being able to have more mobility, but these were all she needed for her trip. The cave itself wasn't too dark, so there was no need for the young woman to bring out a light source. Still, there was something... eerie about this cave. The atmosphere presented by the silence was almost too unsettling compared to most of the other caves Shorette ventured in. Mayhaps it had to do with the fact that she was about to explore an abandoned civilization for the first time and discover its ultimate downfall. It was exciting, yet at the same time the alarms in her head rung like no tomorrow, telling her to turn back. Was she going to turn back? Never. She already made an exhausting journey to reach the entrance of Nifara, and she wasn't going to leave now. So far, from the use of her Somatic Sense technique, there wasn't any form of life that hung around. She was only at the entrance, therefore the current range she could use this technique was all but extensive. Another thing she picked up was the silence. She didn't hear anything unusual and only left with the sound of nothingness and her own thoughts. Shorette could only hope such conditions remained consistent from the beginning of exploring Nifara to the end of leaving and concluding "The Fall of Nifara" project. "Alright, Shorette. Now's the time to get out of the diapers and get into your big girl pants. You've done this in slightly less unsettling caverns. This one will be no different. I hope." The young woman gave herself reassurance in a whisper. "...Although..." She trailed off as she looked ahead, the deeper part of the cave being pitch black. Before all else, it was better for her to be a little more cautious of what she might get herself into. Slinging her backpack in front of her, she unzipped and dug into her bag to pull out the belt with the flashlight accessory. Equipping the bag back on her back, she wrapped the belt around her waist and pressed a button on top of the device to turn it on. The flashlight's range was very limited, but she still had a light source to guide her in some way. Now was the time for Shorette to finally venture deep into the cave, being greeted with nothing but the sound of her own footsteps that bounced around the rocky area.

Chapter 2: Ensnare ensnare: catch in or as in a trap After what felt like hours of wandering around the dark cave that Shorette met with nothing but darkness and the sounds of her own steps, she came across a cliff that seemed to initially be a dead end. However, one closer look as to what was ahead of the cliff was the city's statue: Ittar, the goddess of justice and order that stood tall and proud. It appeared as though Ittar was striking down some sort of criminal with a sword; a breathtaking sight, Shorette would admit. Taking a few careful steps closer to the edge, she peered down at what was below... and there it was. The abandoned city of Nifara, drowned in rubble. "The city of Nifara... and it's unfortunate, eventual fall." She whispered to herself, shaking her head while her eyes scanned the area. Thousands of buildings have collapsed while some landmarks maintained their condition for who knew how many years. She's heard stories, viewed drawings of how Nifara was a practical utopia, safe from all danger and heavily guarded. Alas, their efforts on security fell flat in the end, or so it was thought. No one really knew what happened to Nifara or what caused the downfall, even more on how it became nothing more than a giant ruin. Many experts claim an earthquake unleashed mass destruction on the city, while others stated a civil war broke out. Whatever happened, Shorette was determined to get to the truth. The ruins of Nifara was strangely appealing, mainly from the idea that a city that vowed peace was transformed into abandonment, even though Shorette has yet to figure out what truly happened. Yet that wasn't the only thing that caught her attention. What really got her to focus were the illumination; it was surprisingly bright, especially when the city was located deep in the cave out of site from those that dared not to face any potential danger the cave may seemingly offer. She expected to be met with more darkness, let alone barely able to catch the stature of Ittar. So how or why was there light? That was when she felt a disturbance in the air. She felt movement. Multiple of them. "Ah, hell...!" She muttered. She knew it was too good to be true. Getting a closer look, Shorette felt her heart drop from her chest as she witnessed an unexpected view: armed men patrolling the area. Many of them were armored to the teeth with rifles and other weapons equipped on their bodies, almost resembling military uniform. She saw various tents and stations set up all over the city. "Son of a bitch..." She cussed, a hand reaching over the flashlight device to turn it off in order to avoid any attention on her. Of course there was an organized crime group lurking in Nifara. By the looks of it, it appeared that there were tens of them, if not maybe one hundred. It didn't even matter how many were below her, all she knew was there was only one of her and many of them. The risks were greater than the benefits if she ventured any further. She had to turn back. This wasn't worth losing her life over... but she ignored the churning sensation in her stomach. It was very unusual for Shorette to ignore her gut feeling, but it was far from being uncommon. She was going to go through with her plan. This wouldn't be her first time surfing through an area guarded with armed soldiers, even if it should've been her first and last. Her drive to continue her father's legacy and gain more knowledge about the city of Nifara was too strong for the young woman to tune out. She was going to go for it. Shorette kneeled down to better conceal herself from above and to reach for her backpack once again. This time, she dug around for her screwdriver. It may not be the most effective weapon with the heavy armor the soldiers wore, but it could always come in handy for other stealth related uses. Stealth was the only way for her to get around instead of trying to attack head on. That wasn't to say that Shorette was inferior in head on assault, but her cards would be played much better if she became one with the shadows. With a screwdriver now in her possession, Shorette zipped up her backpack and slung it back behind her. She was ready to go. Before she could stand up and get another view of what was below her, she felt something cold and hard pressed against the back of her head, no doubt a firearm of some sort. The young woman immediately froze in place, her breathing subconsciously held as a response. Her eyes were wide from the sudden confrontation from behind. Shit, don't tell me there was a soldier already patrolling around the cliff and I somehow missed him. She thought, mentally sighing in disappointment. "Drop it." To Shorette's surprise, it was a woman that spoke out delicately to her, trying not to draw any sort of attention from below. Under the assumption the mysterious women meant the screwdriver in Shorette's grip, the young woman immediately followed her command and slowly brought her hand near the ground, gently dropping it and putting both hands up in surrender. "Now then. If I were you, I'd be very careful with my answer to what I'm about to ask you." She purred, the mysterious woman's breath practically shivering on Shorette's nape. "By the looks of it, you're certainly not aligned with the Society of Welvth. Then of course... you may as well be one of them, just out of uniform. So tell me... what are you, exactly?" She asked. The Society of Welvth... if Shorette had to take a wild guess, the organization must had be the ones below occupying the ruins of Nifara. The mysterious woman even counted the possibility of Shorette being one of them. It looked like the young woman, with a gun pointed at her head, had to be real careful with her answer, as suggested by the mysterious woman. Though, nothing could stop Shorette from trying to charm her way out of such a drastic situation, even if it may cause some bruises here and there.

Chapter 3: Perceive perceive: become aware or conscious of (something); come to realize or understand What could Shorette do? She wouldn't know if her relations with her father could be played to her advantaged or become her own downfall in someway. It wasn't as if she had much to hide, but it was whether or not the mysterious woman would believe her. "Look at me and compare how I look to the average Society of whatever they like to call themselves. I'm far from being well equipped as a soldier. Though, I do appreciate the compliment that I'm as more tough looking than what meets the eye if you think I'm apart of the group. Truly." She jested with a small, but subtly nervous smirk stretched across her lips. It was a risk to be cheeky when held at gunpoint, but it was an attempt to try and relieve the grim scenario she was thrown into. The mysterious woman went silent as Shorette hoped to consider her response. Was she amused? Was she ready to blow Shorette's brains out of her head? What felt like a few agonizing minutes have passed, the woman finally spoke. "You still haven't answered my question." Her voice was cold, as expected that the young woman figured that she wasn't one to be charmed so easily. Tough crowd, she would have thought. At least Shorette's brain was still in tact and safe inside of her skull, so it was a start. "Alright, fine." The young woman sighed. "I'm a treasure hunter slash archaeologist. I go on trips to various regions and different landmarks to study artifacts and collect them to be studied. I do it for both the gain of knowledge to spread to the rest of the world to bring value and significance to what an artifact or location holds, and for monetary gains... admittedly." Shorette gave out the real answer. She'd only hope that would be a more satisfying answer, though she could imagine the treasure hunter profession may or may not cause a dilemma to the young woman's chances of staying alive and not getting a bullet pierced through her head. This time, instead of a pause, the mysterious woman made an immediate follow up. "So you like to steal ancient shit and only see its market value and nothing more, if it's worth a shit load of zeni?" She asked. It almost sounded like she mysterious woman was almost pissed with the fact that Shorette admitted she was a treasure hunter. That meant the young woman had to clear it up quick before the other woman pulls the trigger. "Not quite. See, other archaeologists like myself are very keen in learning about our world and what it holds. However, unlike these other archaeologists, they don't exactly have the skillset like I do to navigate through spaces like this. Especially when there's armed soldiers or other types of goons lurking around these parts. They request for my service for the artifact or location they would like to study, I go there, collect what's needed, then bring it to them in exchange for zeni. Often enough, we often switch notes on our findings and observations to publish for the public. It may not sound satisfactory on your end, but trust me when I say that it's for the greater good of knowledge. I even recover stolen artifacts as well." Shorette clarified. As expected, Shorette was met with silence, contemplating if she made the situation worse for herself, but it looked like her clarification was more than satisfying as the mysterious woman hummed at Shorette with intrigue. "Alright then... if I have to be honest, you do look like you're capable of some sort." She extended. "And I will gladly take it as another compliment." Shortette added. "But you're not off the hook just yet." The mysterious woman mentioned. Just when Shorette thought things were looking up to her end, instead Lady Lucky decided to flip her off and shit on her hope. What more could this woman want? She already had the upper hand just with the firearm alone. It wasn't as if Shorette could pull any funny move even if she wanted to. The young woman felt the back of her shirt tugged at, signaling the young woman to stand up. The mysterious woman then directed Shorette away from the cliff and forced her to walk forward under the mysterious woman's guidance. "And might I ask where exactly are you taking me?" Shorette asked, her tone still polite and calm. On the contrary, the mysterious woman answered with coldness. "No. What you can do is stay quiet and speak until you're spoken to." She instructed. "You know, somehow I find that last bit somewhat motivated by... you know what? Never mind. I'll shut it." Shorette retorted. "Good girl." The mysterious woman replied, surprisingly giving her own cheeky response. But before Shorette would try to get anything else in, it was wiser for her to stay silent and see where the other woman would take her.

Not too far from the cliff that held Nifara from below was a hidden path within the cave introduced by a crack on the wall that was large enough to slip and waddle through. While Shorette passed this crack, she didn't think much else of it and never guessed that it actually led somewhere. Throughout the travel, the young woman remained calm and obedient as evident with her hands raised in surrender. Whoever the other woman was, Shorette had to guess that she made some sort of camp near the edge, most likely to keep her eye on the Society of... whatever the hell the group called themselves. She kept her mouth shut as a way to maintain peace and abolish any further conflict until they've reached their destination. That was, until, they've finally reached their stop after what felt like a journey of walking. Presented to Shorette was some sort of camp, and it looked breathtaking, she'd admit. Surrounded by what nature have offered, it was kept tidy and well lit. The image was different from Nifara's ruins. These were houses, and by the looks of it, there were only two. It made the young woman wonder if the other woman had a partner of the sort with her and they were just absent. Shorette remained silent, but the look on her face spelled awe and fascination at what she looked at. The moment of silence was broken when she felt the other woman try to yank her backpack off from her back, resulting a quick protest. "Whoa, hey!" Shorette was quick to turn around and catch a strap of the backpack right before it was pulled off from the woman. "That screwdriver was the only weapon I had on me... if you even want to call it that... albeit it would've been smart to let me pick it back up from where you made me drop it so those goons wouldn't get suspicious that a random screwdriver was left lying around." She argued. Her grip on the strap was firm and she had no interest in letting go. She didn't want all of the documents to potentially perish right in the hands of this other woman. But as she turned around, that was when she was able to get a better look of her. The woman looked to be around Shorette's age, if not a year younger if she had to guess. Like the soldiers she saw from above, the woman was also armed and armored with a cap on her head, a skull face mask, and a distinctive lime green jacket followed up by a few other accessories. And like Shorette, she had the same facial expression; determination and dominance. The two women had a stare down before Shorette's eyes wandered onto the other woman's other hand that gripped onto a pistol, index finger lying comfortably on the trigger. Not a single word was uttered, but Shorette knew when to back down... and that was what she did. She eventually released the grip of her own from her backpack, now letting it be in full possession of the other woman. "Sit." The other woman pointed her pistol at one of the steps, which Shorette complied by sitting on the set of stairs. She eyed the other woman carefully as she unzipped her bag and began to ruffle her free hand around. She took out some of her items such as her phone, then began to look through the documents. After a moment of quietness, the other woman looked back at Shorette. "What business you have in exploring Nifara for?" She asked. It was evident that the other woman was aware of the city below the cliff, but what business she have in wanting to know why Shorette wanted to explore the area. Shorette fixed her posture, carefully calculating what she was going to say. "My father came to explore Nifara and learn more about its history and downfall. I used to read his work on the city when I was younger. He neve finished, so... I thought I could do it for him." She explained. She paused for a moment while she stared at the woman's unreadable expression before continuing. "I'd like for the world to learn more of what Nifara was and what it stood for. To honor it, if you will." She added. But she couldn't help but wonder... "What business you have in caring about what I do in relations to discovering more about its civilization?" She asked, almost using the same wording against the other woman. She wasn't sure if it was wise to do so, but her question remained: why did she care. The other looked down at the documents, carefully reading what was written down. "Duane..." She mumbled the name before she shook her head. "It all makes sense now." She said, closing a folder and shoving it back into the backpack. Throwing it to the side, she approached Shorette with the pistol remained in her hand. "So you're his daughter, Shorette. Trying to follow daddy's footsteps." She started, much to Shorette's confusion. There was no doubt that Duane was far from being an unfamiliar name for those who was at least familiar with archaeology, so it made sense that the other woman was able to make a connection. At the same, there was something else bothering Shorette. "That's pretty much the plan." Shorette admitted with a shrug. "But of course... looks like the plan's been halted for the time being with those soldiers infesting the area." She added. She watched the other woman sigh and shook her head once more, this time sliding the pistol back in her holster. Shorette's own expression was unreadable, but on the inside she was a little taken back that the woman was willing to let her guard down, momentarily it seemed. "Now, if you don't mind me asking... you're not with those soldiers, and it's clear there's some sort of connection between you and Nifara. A deeper one." She observed. Just from how defensive the other woman gotten, she could tell that Nifara meant something to her. Shorette quickly cleared her voice before continuing. "But of course... I may be moving a little too fast. I can always stick to the basics for now and ask for a name, since you already know mine." She recommended.

The woman approached Shorette, the latter making space for her as she went to take a seat next to her. "Yoguri." She answered.
"Yoguri." Shorette repeated. She had to admit, it was a very nice name; it almost reminded her of yogurt. Perhaps this Yoguri character wouldn't mind the young woman giving her a nickname. "That's a cute name." This time, her thought being vocalized into a compliment. "How about I make it cuter and call you Yogu?" She suggested. Judging by the deadpan expression and not a single word uttered by Yoguri, Shorette could only guess that her answer was "no". "Alright, Yoguri it is, then." She continued before she quickly switched the subject. "But my suspicion still remains. Why do you care about Nifara?" Shorette had her guesses, but she wanted to confirm them with Yoguri's answer.
Yoguri laid back slightly against the edge of a few upper steps before she averted her eyes to what was ahead of her, while Shorette's eyes remained on the other woman. She noticed an unsettling expression on Yoguri's face, as if she was uncomfortable in revealing any potential connection to Nifara. However, she heavily exhaled through her nose as she finally decided to answer. "This used to be my home, this city. I was born and raised here... before it fell." She admitted, her eyes still on the ground.
Shorette rose an eyebrow in confusion to Yoguri's answer. She was a native? According to her father's notes, Nifara fell around 110 years ago. Unless this was some sort of ancient specimen before her, Shorette had her doubts. "Forgive me if I find it hard to believe that you were actually a native to the city, but I find it hard to believe that you were actually a native to the city." Shorette said. Of course it could be possible that she must've had ancestors of the sorts that had a lineage with Nifara, which was far more believable than what was initially said.
"Don't blame you. Nifara was branded as a myth, a legend that crumbled nearly a century ago. That was what you've read or been told, right?" Yoguri asked. Before Shorette could confirm, the other woman continued. "Nifara actually fell almost half a decade ago. So its ruins is very much recent." Finally, she turned to Shorette to take note of the other woman's reaction. The bombshell just dropped on Shorette only lead to more confusion that was visible on her face. How in the hell did a city fall only 5 years ago? Her father's note was almost 20 times greater for the year. Yoguri was able to take in the visible confusion on the woman's face and decided to do a follow up.
"It's true that Nifara has lived on for centuries, but even when concealed from the surface, the city always had wandering outsiders whose curiosities gotten the best of them. More people from the outside world started to hear more about the city, and the more people we got, the more likely we'd have bad apples in our bunch, and that number kept increasing every time." She said. Shorette nodded, signaling that she was following along what was being said before Yoguri continued. "Back then, Nifara didn't have the... necessary technology to fend for itself. That's when we decided we needed help... outside help." She continued, her right hand curled into a tight fist while her teeth gritted in what seemed to be anger.
If Shorette had to guess, the "outside help" in quest was the group Yoguri mentioned earlier: the Society of Welvth. It would explain why there were soldiers in Nifara, but the question still remained: how did a city that was supposedly abandoned centuries ago only fell into a despair appearing state only recently? "So those soldiers that I saw were the outside help. I can only assume that they had something to do with being able to conceal Nifara's location, or more so close itself off and limiting the amount of people into the space." She speculated.
Yoguri nodded in agreement. "Yup. Society of Welvth." She confirmed. "I'm not sure how exactly Nifara met them, but all I know was that if it wasn't for them, Nifara wouldn't have lasted as long as it did. They were the ones that closed off the city and made up the guise that the city fell a long while ago. They had the concept of guarding the city in its 'fallen state' in order to 'preserve' the value that the city had; its valuables, artifacts, things of that nature." She said.
"That explains why my father wrote down that it fell over a century ago." Shorette muttered to herself. "But that just leaves another question out in the open... if it didn't fall long ago, how or why did it fall only recently?"

Another pause of silence took over as Shorette carefully watched the other woman. She could tell that a troubled expression was about to arrive, but Yoguri managed to return to her poker face... all the while giving out a subtle hint of what seemed to be... anger. "They had weapons; guns, missiles, rocket launchers... and we had nothing. It was natural of them to think they have the upper hand on us, so they called the shots of running Nifara under a dictatorship by the same man that ran the Society of Welvth: Tofoo Welvth. Every little thing had to come to him for approval or whatever other business that was needed for him. He did whatever the hell he wanted and no one could stop him." She said.
"And... I guess he also recruited-- or forced-- people to become soldiers for his numbers to grow, right?" Shorette assumed that was the case, considering the more soldiers he had, the better control he had on the people of Nifara.
Another nod was made by Yoguri while she sighed. "Me included. But to sum up what happened, eventually people got tired of the Society of Welvth... me included. Some soldiers that were forced to serve in his regime also revolted against him... so a war broke out. Both sides lost hefty numbers, but Nifara lost a lot more. They've either died by fighting to the death, getting caught in the crossfire while trying to escape, or escaped alive. Me, I was able to escape. Barely. My family... they weren't as fortunate as me." She closed her eyes while her voice became shaky, her attempt to keep her composure as she tried to continue further.
Shorette had to admit it, the trip to Nifara took a wild turn of events. She couldn't help but feel terrible for Yoguri, especially since she could somewhat relate to losing her family; her only family. Being alone was far from satisfying and harder to navigate the world solo. "Trust me... I know exactly what that's like... more so when they're killing right in front of you. When you're all alone with your thoughts, without a proper guide to help you plan your next steps... misery loves its company, you can say." Shorette attempted to comfort Yoguri by relating to how she lost her family; from her mother who passed away to Duane, who was killed right in front of her own eyes.
Yoguri stayed quiet for what felt like minutes, only for her to utter a quiet, "Yeah... it does." which seemed to work. "But after a while, you get used to it. Next thing you know, being alone works out much better than someone being with you. You get to decide how things pan out and work by your own rules. I've grown to like it." She admitted. Although, judging by the tone of her voice Shorette picked up that what she said was only a cope for her to work with; she didn't enjoy being alone too much as she claimed, but Shorette could very much relate, especially when she had selfish tendacies.
"Of course. I don't mind being alone or with others. With other people, though, you get to use them as meat shields and bail on them. Less blood on your hands and more on their bodies. Depending on where they get shot or stabbed." Shorette's response caused Yoguri to throw a questionable glare at the woman, clearly suspicious that Shorette would do the same to Yoguri should such an occasion arise. Shorette was quick to shake her head and quickly add, "Not that I'd do it to you or anything, if a scenario of us working together ever come up. It just happened to be with people that were... far less experienced and were only seen as liabilities under certain situations they couldn't sift through. Dead weight, you know." It wasn't the best clarification, but it seemed to somewhat satisfy Yoguri as she nodded in agreement... she thought. Hell, Shorette messed up and she knew it. That nod didn't look so reassuring.
"Anyway..." Shorette trailed off quicky into a new subject. "You were apparently forced into the army, presumably young I'd say. Then you ran away when this war broke out 5 years ago. What made you come back?" The million dollar question finally asked. Despite everything this organization have done, instead of staying away, Yoguri came back. But why? Was it for revenge? Especially when there were hundreds of soldiers and only one of her.

Yoguri took a moment to consider her answer, her eyes temporary averted from Shorette's own. It seemed as though she debated whether or not she wanted to explain her sudden come back to her fallen home. Resolution sparked in her eyes when she finally returned her gaze back to Shorette's own. "Follow me." She got up from the steps and traveled to the door across from where they sat, Shorette following the woman as expected. Considering there were two doors, she didn't get to ask whether or not someone was with Yoguri. Based on her response in regards to being alone, she had to guess that the armed woman was really all by her lonesome; plus, more room for whatever she had to store.
Her hand wrapped around the doorknob and pushed the door open, the woman brought Shorette to a rather messy environment with various items scattered all over; guns, documents, pictures, first aid kits, etc. "Someone here's a bit of a neat freak." A small playful jab at Yoguri's organization skills, but as such Yoguri ignored her smart remark. She waltz over the mess on the floor and reached over to a small table. She pulled off a paper from the table and walked back over to Shorette, handing the piece of paper over.
Shorette took the item from Yoguri and examined what was before her. It seemed to be a picture of an orb, and that orb looked to have a sky printed on it with clouds, a sun, and at the bottom, the lower half looked to be dawn with some sort of figure within the center. This was something foreign, but Shorette guessed it must've been some sort of artifact. An important one at that. "Right... and whatever this thing is, I'm assuming you must want it back, right?" She asked, her eyes teared from the picture and right at Yoguri.
The woman nodded. "That right there is Ittar's Vision." She explained. "It's Nifara's most sacred artifact. It's claimed to be sculpted by Ittar herself. This right here is meant to be a representation of Nifara's view of justice and order: 'All things balanced will sprout a world of fair justice and order'. As you already know, Ittar is a goddess of that, and with Nifara's concealed nature, fairness was above all else. It's how crime was practically nonexistent and corruption was nothing more than a mere horrible dream." She walked in front of Shorette to get another look of her own at the picture. "This artifact right here was as if Ittar was watching over Nifara... protecting us, guiding us to the right direction..." She said.
Shorette hummed in contemplation as she looked back at Ittar's Vision, subtly shaking her head. "Although... it seems like Ittar was blinded when Nifara sought out and accepted Society of Welvth's services. No offense, by the way." She quickly added the end. "But in Nifara's defense... if they didn't have the proper equipment for defense, then I couldn't blame them on looking outside for help. A civilization as peaceful as Nifara's as claimed wouldn't survive without some form of lethal force, if needed, to keep them safe." She explained. It was a way to cushion the blow, the way Shorette saw it. Nifara never stood with violence, but with how modern the world was, peace wasn't going to last forever. "So, you must want to get this artifact back then." She said.
Yoguri hummed in agreement. "It's Nifara's most prized possession, and it's most likely that Tofoo is going to sell it for millions. The greedy bastard. He took everything this city stood for. Its people, the culture, everything. The last thing I want him to take and even sell is something that is sacred to the city and deeply rooted in its origin. I can't stand by and let him sell off the only remaining item that connected all of Nifara." Yoguri was determined. She was ready to do whatever it took to get the artifact back, even if it meant that her life was on the line.
Shorette recognized and acknowledged the determination with an impressed hum. Shifting her eyes between the picture of Ittar's Vision and Yoguri, she casually shrugged her shoulders and rolled the picture up, inserting it gently in her pocket. "Alright, then you better scoot over, because you'll be having one more person join your rescue party." She announced.
"...Wait, what?"
