“Heed…”

Words that came from seemingly nowhere once more invaded his mind. Once more? Wait, why so? But of course, such a soothing and yet dramatic voice in his head, it was not the first time that he had perceived it. Back then, not too long ago when Nasu was yet wandering the cities with nothing more than his sword as companion, something tried to call out to him moments prior to the Majin’s attack on the East City. The thoughts of that day were still cloudy to say the least, he was not sure if this was meant to be a dream, a memory or what else. He could only assume that something was up.

Why else would he experience this once more? He had never had this kind of episode happen to him. Perhaps once in a while his sleep would often be disturbed by images of his past, that very old distant past where as a child he would witness his world burn to ashes, people crying and soldiers dragging away those few that managed to escape their rifle shots. A terrible sight that was still engraved in his mind, one that would still visit him every now and then as part of his own nightmares.

How much did he indeed long for… what, exactly? He spent plenty of years out in the world, but why? Back then, he would immediately admit or speak of a journey, one of self discovery, one that could potentially try and help him find his path onto realization; something that could help him become someone rather than something, rather than an instrument of war. He knew full well he did not have to fight a single battle with the rebel cell, for they cared after him and yet he felt just like a freeloader. Someone that could not help, think or act for himself.

So he left the cell back then, to pursue destiny, in his own words. Oh, how many hours and days he spent out there in the forests and deserts, just how many creatures and living beings he encountered. Sometimes he helped them too actually, he lended them a hand in times of need, he helped them build their houses once more after tempest and rain had wrecked them apart, he helped them gather enough supplies for the winter and furthermore. Looking back, he did a lot of things in his own right, without anybody else’s pain.

Then what was this feeling? He felt like he lacked something, or perhaps someone. A feeling of belonging, perhaps? Almost as if something was missing in this strange puzzle, however was this always how he felt in the past or was it something that had spawned in his mind after what happened last time? After the whole Liari incident. Nevertheless, such words woke him up once more, the man that had stayed underneath the shroud of the trees that granted him protection and cover from the blinding light that shined upon the world at this time.

“Heed… heed what?”

He said, muffled under his breath, while he cursed such an enigmatic occurrence. Soon his onyx eyes looked away rather and attempted to sight something, perhaps a creature or anything. Last time he remembered quite well that he had spotted some kind of monster that lingered around, that warned him of the incoming danger… and yet there was nothing right now. Ah, what a headache! To think that he was getting all worked up over something that had no reason to even be part of his concerns, and yet now he could not help but feel unable to shake off the feeling that something was not right.

“...Where am I anyway?”

Some of that early morning confusion caught him, unable to really remember much until a few minutes passed. His gaze looked over only to find a small firecamp and some supplies he had brought along, part of him began to really feel bored with the entire… vagabond stuff. Maybe he would have had to settle down one of these days, but first he felt like he needed to grow stronger, perhaps even find a teacher. Nasu did not know where to look, he had heard a couple of things about an old dude on an island, but as far as he could tell, he was not sure if that was even his style.

“Ah whatever, time to go check out the… wait, what?”

Nasu was suddenly stunned to feel something quite particular. No, it was not just particular, it was immense. At first he was not even sure if it was real, an energy signature that nearly matched his own in full power. No, it did not match it, it probably surpassed him. Insane. Was this another of those nutcases he met during the East City attack? He could not recognize the signature, so he was not really sure, but in any case, his senses warned him that whatever it was, it was getting closer and closer.

“Well, here goes nothing…”

He sighed and chose to approach the signature too, himself, he blasted off in its direction as now both of them pretty much crossed paths much sooner now, and at once the man stopped when he found the stranger ahead with his own two eyes. First, there was no shot she was there that day, therefore he crossed the chance that it was somebody with vengeance in mind or anything like that, rather he found her to be somewhat familiar and strange altogether. Was she a Saiyan too?

“Cool.”

The man blurted out with his eyes shocked at her hairstyle. How cool was that? Black and white, tall and spiky… now that was a cool hairdo. Oh, but he noticed he actually said that out loud. Soon his features shrunk and one hand pinched the bridge of his nose, he exhaled.

“Sorry. I meant to say hello. I am Nasu, who are you? It is not everyday I meet someone with your kind of power.”
