This was it, the final step to take on Yardrat to get to the top where he wanted to be. He didn't know how long this was going to take, he didn't expect it to be quick or easy but Athren was motivated to see this through and finish it, he wanted to put Yardrat behind him. Even if he was super grateful for everything he had learned here and the hospitality of the locals, it was time to go. This place wasn't for him, though he camped out temporarily before, he had his faction with him and lots of people to keep him entertained but the Yardrat lifestyle? That just wasn't for him. He was a fighter at heart, he was a warrior and meant to do more than live and reside on such a peaceful planet. Though the Yardrats weren't necessarily against fighting, they only believed in it's cause when it served a higher purpose and hopefully, Athren would serve that purpose.
Whether or not he would, well that would yet to be seen. He had his own goals that came first and with all these new techniques, it was likely that he'd accomplish his goals and restore Orange City to what it once was. Along with that, he needed to bring his children back to the land of the living along with all of his faction. There was a huge list for him to do, and he felt he was ready to do it and with a quick visit back to Earth, he knew he'd be off to Namek to see it through. His children had waited long enough in the other world and even though the story of the Dragon Balls had felt like a childs fairy tale, it was the only hope he had, it was the one hope he could hold onto, even if he knew the end result would be for them to forget him. It wouldn't be an easy thing to do, it was something he'd be preparing for mentally, he knew he wouldn't even get to say a real goodbye. All he wanted was to see them before they left, where ever that would be, he knew they'd be safe with Ukare. Safer than they would be if they were to remain with him. He was a target for trouble, especially with his new found power. Somebody would find him and want to challenge him, even forcing his hand by targeting the ones he loved. It wasn't something he'd risk, his kids would be better off elsewhere, maybe even here on Yardrat but that choice wasn't his to make.
He knew that Ukare would make the right choice with his kids, they were almost like his own. That namekian treated them well, looked after them and loved them. Hell, he damn well gave his life in an effort to save theirs. He was a true friend and a good warrior, one that Athren would respect forever. He'd never forget that, and he'd pay Ukare that debt he owed.
Now wasn't the time to worry about all that though, it was a thought that always lingered in the back of his mind as it was the purpose for this whole trip and everything he learned here, but he needed to focus on the here and now for hours had already gone by with his master Pybara and the setting was rather plain, Athren and Pybara were in the field near his masters house. The same field Athren had almost destroyed just hours previously when training his new technique. It was a peaceful place, it was quiet and a light breeze providing the warrior's skin with a cooling, refreshing kiss.
Athren was completely focused on the here and now. His motivations pushing him to completely block everything else out, he was tunnel visioning on the goal, on successfully completing his training here on Yardrat. He was right there, focusing as he tried to reach in within Pybara and manipulate his masters energy for his own use. Though Athren had never successfully did this before, the week prior had been an amazing stepping stone for him, it really allowed Athren to understand the technique and how it worked and better yet, just how to grasp somebody elses energy for his own use and this time around, he dialed into Pybara's ki signature quickly and with his arm reached out to help guide him, he feel like it was up for grabs quite literally.
He felt the energy of his master pumping through his body and Athren couldn't help but feel even more motivated, ready to finish this thing off for good. It was right there, everything was right. He just needed to draw it out and use it for his own and it was in that moment that Athren got a grip, dug in deep and started drawing Pybara's energy from his body. Though this wasn't something Athren could do in a real fight simply by reaching, he knew he'd be able to draw it out with physical contact, by beating somebody down with his fists and it was a good feeling. Athren would draw out half of pybara's energy before his master spoke up.
"That's enough, You've got it. You've drained quite a bit of my energy on your own." Pybara stated rather calmly as his fingers interlocked behind his back. There was a light bead of sweat rolling down his forehead as he needed a second to catch his breath and bring back his balance. "You've done good Athren and it's quite apparent that you're a natural at this kind of thing, I have never seen somebody master all these techniques nearly as quickly as you have.. but given that you've completed all the techniques you have wished to learn, it appears that this concludes you're training. You're ready to go out on your own and apply these the way you need and even improve upon them."
It was a good moment for Athren, it was almost a little bit of light in the darkness he had recently been experiencing. Though all these wins couldn't make up for his massive loss, it was at least setting him up for a brighter future, for bringing everything back and the words of encouragement and praise from his master had actually registered with him. He couldn't help but smile brightly and even nod his head as he acknowledged it. "I really do have to thank you, you could have turned me away and If I'm being honest with you, I probably would have but for some reason.. You didn't, you guided me and helped me learn what I wanted to learn. You're making it possible for me to bring everybody I hurt back and for that, I'm always going to be grateful for that." Though it really wasn't Athrens style to be soft like that, it was well earned and every single word he spoke was nothing but the truth.
Pybara would smile back at Athren and nod his head. "You were a troubled soul in need of help, It wouldn't be right to say no at a time like that. It may have even been something that has changed your path forever, one that will set you on a completely different course than you expected, on that may very well lead you to be something this universe needs." Though he didn't quite specify on what he meant, he truly hoped that Athren would become a shining beacon for the universe, one that would help others and save them from harm. He felt that it was Athren's intention to do right from here on out but decisions made through pain and hurt were often left behind shortly after. He would have to wait and see, though he could only pray that he wouldn't have been wrong.
Their conversation was short and quickly led to some goodbyes, though Athren was grateful for it all it was time for him to go back to his own life and get back to Earth. He had promised to keep and people to see. He knew there was one that was awaiting his return, somebody who he cared about very deeply, somebody he needed to get back to and he even had a plan for her when he saw her, he didn't know how it was going to go but he couldn't hold it in anymore. After two and a half long months away, he felt it was time to make his move and with that thought in his mind he was eager, almost tempted to just instant transmission to her doorstep but he'd wait, it was only a few more days. Quickly, Athren blasted off to his ship and programmed it for Earth and very rapidly, it would have taken off and blasted off Yardrat. He would arrive on Earth in roughly four days, unless he was needed on Earth sooner. Until then though, he could train all he wanted.
