After his long and drawn-out training session in his gravity chamber, Athren had found himself doing another training session though this one was much more relaxed and didn't require constant and steady movements. He was with Pybara once again and preparing to take on the Spirit Fission technique. Athren was going into this well aware that this technique was the most difficult of the Yardrat techniques to learn and master, it would take the most focus and the most effort for him to get this one down. He really didn't know how long it would take him to even begin to pull this technique off but he knew that he had to get it right, though the issue was that he had never tried anything like this in his life.
He had excelled in mastering his own ki, it was simple and he had been doing it from the very beginning of his fighting career but to reach it and withdraw somebody elses? That was a new concept entirely, something he hadn't even ever heard of before in his life. Though he had faith in Pybara that he would teach him and show him the right path, after all he was a very good teacher, one with the best of intentions for his student. He wanted to see Athren succeed and complete his training on Yardrat, though the only real thing that Pybara would like to change, was that he wished Athren would take home all of the Yardrat techniques. Though he wouldn't try to force the saiyan into taking more than what he wanted too.
Regardless of what Pybara would recommend when it came to techniques, Athren didn't want the other techniques. Though he was tempted to learn how to heal people, that wasn't who he was. He didn't mind the Spirit Fission and using other people's energy to heal people, he didn't want to use his own. That kind of defeated the purpose of being a fighter, he needed all of his energy to be used in the fight, not for keeping others alive. Plus that kind of thing may distract him from the fight at hand and he really couldn't afford to shift his attention in a scenario like that.
Regardless of all the other techniques, Athren had to focus on the here and now. He knew this shit wouldn't be easy. The only real option he would have was to listen to Pybara's every single word, listen to it clearly and take it all very literally. He'd have to do exactly what Pybara instructed him to do and hopefully, then he'd manage to make some progress. Athren was very determined to get this down, he wanted to leave Yardrat as soon as possible, he couldn't wait to leave at this point. Though he learned a lot and got a whole hell of a lot stronger, the planet was beginning to bore him. He didn't have anybody he could really connect to here, nobody to spar with, nobody to hang out with that shared similar interests. It was time for him to go, at least as soon as he could. He had things to do, and it was about time he got back to Zerori, at least for a visit before he blasted off to Namek.
Though the time for thoughts about leaving had expired and he needed to focus on the here and now. He was with Pybara and standing there strong in his glorious super saiyan transformation as Pybara instructed him. "So, you've learned the Spirit Control and can now control every essence of your being, your body, spirit and mind have all been balanced and you can reach deep within to draw out your greatest power. You know how it feels, and what it's like to do so." Pybara would pause as he placed his hand on his own chest. "You need to reach within me, feeling the same level of control. Sensing out my energy, all of my being and pull it from within." Though it wasn't as easy as Pybara made it sound, Athren wouldn't have much of a choice. He needed to accomplish this, he needed to get it done.
Athren would listen to Pybara carefully and extend his right hand to help assist him with this. His palm was open and facing Pybara directly as Athren found himself closing his eyes to focus easier. He didn't need the extra sense of vision distracting him from what he was trying to feel. He didn't need his sight to feel Pybara's energy and with his Advanced Ki Sense ability, it was very easy to feel it. He could sense every ounce of Pybara's energy, now he just needed to manipulate it the way he needed too, he needed to extract it from Pybara's body and make it usable for himself. Though he wasn't quite sure HOW to extract it. "I feel your energy, though I don't know how to exact it.." Athren trailed off rather quietly as he remained focused on his goal. "Didn't you say this was easier by causing damage?" He couldn't help but joke lightly as one eyes peered open to glance over at Pybara. Obviously, he was hinting at beating up on him to pull off the technique, though he wouldn't actually do that given the level of respect he had for his master.
Pybara couldn't help but shake his head lightly and dismiss Athren's joke. He wasn't going to entertain that thought any further by even acknowledging it. "You just have to manipulate it as if it were your own energy, no different than how you create a technique for one of your own attacks." Pybara had said this rather calmly as he stood there with his hands locked together behind his back.
Athren couldn't help but think how that really didn't help him here but he had no choice but to try to listen to the words the best he could, he focused on the feeling of Pybara's energy being right there, exposed, almost as if it were on a buffet table. He just needed to grab it, manage it and control it. Though he was really struggling. As Athren stood there focused, he took a deep breath. In through the nose and out through the mouth, he absolutely allowed himself to feel nothing but the calmness within Pybara's ki, it was right there, ripe for the taking! He just had to grab it! "I.. almost got it." Athren exclaimed softly as Pybara stood there patiently, waiting for Athren to pull it off. Athren's words didn't require a response, so Pybara just awaited results.
Though it took Athren a few more minutes, Athren had finally managed to at least get a hold of his masters energy. He felt as if he could manipulate it but at the same time, no matter what he tried to do he couldn't. He struggled to shift it around and withdraw it, even though he had a grasp on it. He couldn't explain the feeling of reaching in and grabbing somebody elses ki, and it was something completely new to him, it was a technique that was going to allow him to do some amazing things in the future.
Athren would try for a while to shift and manipulate Pybara's energy, but even though he was so close he couldn't manage to pull it off. He was so close, yet so far away all at the same time. Minutes would become hours, and before he knew it the sun had set and it was dark.
Pyabara nodded his head. "You're close Athren and that's progress. I firmly believe that next week, you'll have this technique down with no issues at all. Why not take a break for the day, and we'll get back to it then." Even though Pybara was explaining how Athren couldn't pull it off, there was a certain comfort and motivation to his words that made Athren believe that he was right there and that next time he attempted it, he'd finally get it down pat.
Of course the saiyan didn't expect to get it effortlessly his first go, he didn't think he would but there was a little hope for it but with the failure, Pybara was right. It was wise to take a break and Athren had pushed himself far too much today. A good portion of the day in the gravity chamber learning a technique, to mentally trying to learn another technique? It wasn't easy work and it was rather exhausting, but the light was at the end of the tunnel and he wouldn't be here much longer. Soon he'd see the Earth again, see Zerori and Ayu again. It was all just a week away, and the best part was he wouldn't have to wait to travel in his ship, he could just teleport there instantly. It was all working out the way it was supposed too, with a little more work. He'd get there.
