Zaks could not help but look around as she entered the royal library of planet vegeta as countless books and computers stored countless amounts of knowledge. Zaks couldn't help but look around in awe and wonder just how many generations of accumulated knowledge was here. Thinking to herself that she had to have some of these books for herself she wandered the halls for more than a few moments until she spotted a wizened old man that seemed to be the caretaker of the library. She hesitated before she approached the man who was placing books up on the shelf and spoke softly in hopes of not spooking the old man.
**Excuse me sir, is there any way that I can acquire some of these books for personal use? I am more recent to the planet vegeta and will find myself lacking on many subjects. I would like a book on this world's history and that of the saiyans themselves if you did not mind. I would also like books on the greater galaxy and the different races that are out there in the known universe. Any legends you have I would also be interested in.**
The old saiyan had served in the Royal Library for close to 20 years after an injury left him unfit for most other positions. During his time here he had encountered many warriors, royal family members and even aliens that visited to learn what the saiyans knew. So when he heard the woman speak behind him he merely let out a sigh before turning to speak to the woman and was more than a little shocked to find out he was staring at her waist instead of her face like most saiyan females. Looking up at the woman he was surprised at more than her height. She craned her neck down to look at him in the face with a soft smile on her lips. He had always thought of himself as a good judge of character and it had been a while since he had seen an honest face like hers. Composing himself for a mere moment he spoke up to answer her inquiry in a grandfatherly voice or elder that had gotten themselves a child to speak to for a while.
There are many books here that i think would easily fit the bill of what you are looking for i will go pull them and show you the selection from there you can pick out whatever ones you like to purchase. I am afraid that the saiyans don't value knowledge the way other civilizations do so I don't have spare free copies for you available.
Zack followed along with the old man listening to him speak about saiyan culture as he pulled books off the shelf for her to look at and decide what ones she would like. She almost said yes to anything he put in front of her and what made the old man happy is that she honestly seemed interested in the books he showed her. It did not take much time before he placed a book that looked old and beat up from a little secret spot he had been storing it near the entertainment books. Not much was said as they kept walking though she did look at it oddly before following after him. Finally once all the books were collected on the cart the old Librarian began to add the total up before showing it to her. Through their conversation the old man had been observing her trying to judge her worth and even had probed her a little bit to see who she was. He had easily learned much about her
** This will be the total of all the books you requested for Miss Zaks but i do have a question for you if you do not mind me asking. Say if you could have any wish you wanted, what would you wish for me? Like myself I would wish for the saiyans to be free again…not to be what we have become but something much greater than yourself.**
Zaks could not help but tilt her head slightly at his question but still took the old man's inquiry seriously as he seemed pretty sincere as he asked her this question. She stood deep in thought for a few moments as of leaving the shell she really had not thought about too much what she was gonna do with her life outside destroying the tree that was slowly killing this planet. Thinking about that, she was surprised by the saiyans' response to the defense of their own planet after how much they took pride as warriors. After considering things for a little longer she spoke confidently as she smiled in a friendly way to the old man.
I would ask for the wisdom to bring out the spirit of the saiyans and myself to make us what we really could be. I would use that wisdom to show the galaxy how they have pushed us down unjustly and could use our guidance. I see the saiyans being the friends everyone turns to for help and guidance. I see the Saiyans spanning the galaxy on multiple worlds and being just guardians of it all. I know such a thing for saiyans would be hard as it stands and most likely lead to war but i still think saiyans have that ability.
The old man stared hard at the woman before smiling and placing in her bag of copies a book that had a copy of a large lizard on the front of it and waved her off. Zaks tried to pay for the books multiple times and each time the old man would interrupt her and wave away again, not even letting her speak. The old man hoped what she saw in the woman before him was the hope of the saiyans going into the future. While he doubted she would ever use the book he had placed in there he still had hope that she would. The story his father had told him and had written in that book was only of the few weak seeds he could plant to help save his people. Zaks stood at the desk for a few moments before a small smile crossed her features again and she pulled the bag full of her books and left the Library.
