Athren had once again found himself with Pybara and working towards a new technique and this technique was even more special than the ones he had learned previously. The Spirit Fission would allow Athren to forcefully separate an opponent's energy from their bodies and manipulate it to do his own bidding, with this he could revive the recently deceased, break apart fusions and absorptions and even add that energy to other attacks. It was a technique he really didn't think he'd use all that often but one that he really wanted to have. One would never know when it'd come in handy and with the fact of revival in mind, he wanted it. If he had something like this when his kids died? Maybe things could have turned out differently and though it was a very big if, it wasn't something that he was going to let settle in his mind. The big what-ifs were always among the top things that haunted him about the tragic events of Earth.
Not only was the Spirit Fission more unique in its abilities on the battlefield but it also came along with being the most advanced of the Yardrat techniques and by nature, it was the most difficult to learn. Even though Athren was told this he still had a very sharp sense of confidence about it all, he was learning things so fast and progressing so rapidly that he didn't think that this technique could take him all that long. After all, even Pybara had taken a moment to praise his student and give Athren a massive pat on the back for adapting to and learning all the new techniques in a very quick time frame. Athren was ready for it, prepared for it and ready to get off this rock. Though Yardrat had brought him a lot of benefits and unique abilities, his time on the planet was coming to an end and he couldn't wait to start the next chapter in his life.
Whether the new chapter would keep him on Earth for a short period of time or lead him to Namek rather quickly, he needed to get to it. All this work had been guiding him toward that and he was eager to get to it but a little break in between wouldn't hurt anybody. Even if it was only a months time added to Cress and Celric coming back, surely they could understand. They were both smart kids, though maybe not patient they'd have to understand what their father had been going through, pushing through to make this work. Surely, they'd just be grateful to be back to the land of the living. Along with the understanding for their father, they wouldn't have to understand for long as the intention was for them to forget who their father even was, he'd be nothing more than a stranger to them and all memories with him would remain, they'd have no idea who the individual was that was with them all of those times.
Yet it was still a very bitter pill to swallow for Athren as he thought about his solution to all of this, he still deemed it the most appropriate one. It was the best way to insure that Athren's mistakes, his past and nothing he ever did to anybody else would ever arise and haunt his children, they'd never be put under threat because of the brutal warrior lifestyle that he used to live out. Even during his Crimson Nova days, he did a lot of things he wasn't necessarily proud of for money and even that could creep up and do some damage.
Whether his plan was right or wrong, Athren knew that the bottom line was keeping his children and his kids safe, that was the most important thing to him.
Regardless of all that Athren had to keep his focus in the moment and push through another one of Pybara's training. Though today was all to prepare Athren to truly master the technique. It was mostly theory. Pybara would speak to his student about it all. "The forced spirit fission technique is a technique that allows the user to manipulate energy from an opponent. Though the technique can be used from a distance or through physical attacks, the damage must be inflicted in order for it to work."
Pybara couldn't help but pause as he paced back and forth in front of Athren. "Though the attack is initiated through inflicting damage upon your opponent, you must rely on your Spirit Control in order to make it work for you. You have to reach in and extract their Ki with every attack that you land and expel it from their body. The focus isn't about the damage dealt, but the focus behind it." He explained it to Athren the best he could, though he had discussed the technique before it wasn't in detail. Before, he only explained what it was but not how it would work.
Athren had listened intensely, he didn't want to miss a single word. This wasn't a technique he'd openly get to rehearse and practice on his own. He'd need a willing participant and something about splitting somebody's energy from them just didn't sound right if it was a spar, that wasn't what he was about. This was something he might just need to learn how to do and trust he could do it and do it when he was ready. It was unfortunate but it might've been the only path for this one. Unless Pybara himself or somebody else would volunteer, it'd be tough for Athren do to it.
"Alright, so basically rely on my Spirit Control and that ability. That doesn't sound to difficult." Athren couldn't help but shrug his shoulders lightly. Athren believed in himself when it came to Spirit Control and if all he really needed to do was control somebody elses, he didn't think it could be that hard. In theory, he'd have to sense their energy and really feel it and from there he'd be capable of manipulating it through physical damage. "Though, I've got to say without somebody to practice it on, it might be a little hard to get the hang of."
Pybara nodded as he fully understood Athren's concern, it was one of the hardest techniques to learn and that wasn't a secret and trying to learn something only through theory could prove to be very difficult. "Next week we'll really begin lessons, I'll allow you to attempt it on me. I only expect that you do it through distance and save me the pain of physical blows. Understood?" Pybara was more than happy to offer himself as the training dummy in this scenario, though as long as he wasn't actually going to receive a beating. If his student needed the help, Pybara would do his absolute best to provide it. It'd be a shame to watch the demon-saiyan hybrid get caught up now, especially with how eager he was to continue his path.
Athren couldn't help but crack a light smile, Athren was always so much better with getting a more hands-on learning experience. He wasn't the type to learn through getting told, or even reading a book on how to do something. He learned through instruction and guidance while he actually attempted to do it, or he simply did it himself through action and there really wasn't an in-between. With Pybara's help, surely it would increase the speed of the entire process and he'd come out okay. "I'd appreciate that, but what else can you tell me about this technique and how to do it.. I want to be as ready as I possibly can for it." Athren stated, asking for any more pointers and guidelines. The faster this went, the faster he was free and off planet.
They'd spend the rest of the afternoon with Pybara telling Athren all the tips and the tricks to master the spirit fission technique in the smallest amount of time possible, he'd reveal all of the trade secrets and treat Athren as if he was one of their own, if he was a Yardrat trying to learn this ability. There were no secrets, no riddles, nothing but the entire ruth and best wishes behind his words. He wanted Athren as prepared as he wanted to be, he wanted Athren ready to face whatever challenges were ahead and he truly believed that all of this had set Athren on the right path, the path of a good man. Only time would tell that but Pybara truly believed that even this discussion would help slingshot Athren in the way he wanted to see him travel. He didn't want anymore secrets held from the saiyan, he didn't want the saiyan to feel locked up in his own world with nowhere to go, as long as Athren could prove himself to be a good person in the future, he'd always have a spot on Yardrat.
