Liari knew not what drew her out into the open this evening. Beit having stayed inside all day, having nothing to do or just having the MASSIVE INTERNAL DESIRE TO SMASH STUFF! Whatever the reason, the majin found herself amongst the deep brown rocks and dead fluttering dust of the Diablo Desert. So quiet at night, so tranquil. Hardly a thing moved out here beyond that which the frigid, arid wind of the desert night could carry.
...Alright, enough beating around the bush. Liari didn't come here to enjoy the absolute NOTHING of this barren wasteland. She came here to sulk. It was the hardest thing in the world to reign in her impulses, as anyone with a STRONG DESIRE FOR ANYTHING would know. Desires to fight, to turn the IDIOTS of the world into candy, to find and KILL Quash, all these things were being reigned in every day... and she was losing her patience with it. EVEN WITH AYU, she was growing frustrated! She understood her sibling didn't want to fight and, given her personality and stuff, she understood why! She was a kind soul who would sooner bury herself in her plants than throw a punch in someone's direction... but that there was just the problem! SHE WAS STRONG! STRONGER THAN HER, EVEN! Liari had once been the mightiest thing on the planet, something she took pride in as a DOMINATOR of this section of space (as far as she cared to know)... and then she lost it to someone who doesn't even FIGHT!?
...But that wasn't even the big problem.
What REALLY boiled her majin blood was that Ayu... just wouldn't train with her the way she wanted! Sure, they could fiddle about with little energy spheres or throw weeds at each other all day but REAL FIGHTING, the stuff that REALLY got all 3 of her (Liari and her absorbee's) bloods pumping... was just off the table! She was TOO SWEET! TOO NICE! ...And now Liari was alone again, just like where she started. Bah, familiarity bred contempt, as they say and she had no love for this place. Look at it all, so barren and worthless, barely enough around for the animals that CHOSE to live here to live within, let alone live ON. Not a tree in sight nor an animal to eat. Just dust and rocks and lots and lots of sand.
"Hate this stupid place..." Liari grumbled, scooping up a stone and LOBBING IT UP into the sky. Who knows, maybe she'd knock the light out of one of those infinitely many stars up there... Without looking, she would just keep scooping stones and lobbing them upwards, seeking SOME MINOR AMOUNT OF SATISFACTION, SOMETHING TO GIVE HER A REASON TO WAKE UP TOMORROW! She just couldn't believe it... All this trying to be good and what did it get her? Oh, Ayu liked her, so there was that. Yes, she loved her very much and Liari felt so very much the same but... was that enough? Was the love of the strongest, sweetest soul in the universe WORTH all the boredom and frustration that came with it!?
"...Maybe not..." Liari grumbled, SHOOTING one of the stones as they came down with a finger-beam. What FUN was there in sitting around all day, waiting for something to happen? WHY were the good always prevented from making their own fun when the bad can do it all the time? ...AND WHY did Liari allow herself to be CHAINED DOWN like this anyway!? ...At least now, she had the intelligence necessary to make that choice. Before, it was all because Liari couldn't stand the thought of being alone. Ayu held her at night, during the day she made friends and beat up everyone she could! In the evenings she had more food on her plate than she would EVER HAVE HAD by herself. THIS was what she thought was "Good."
...Amazing how that changed when you had the intellect of at least two adults.
"I can't go on living like this." Liari growled, DIGGING her fingers into the ground at her feet, PRYING UP A BOULDER BIGGER THAN SHE WAS! "I have waited... I have watched... and all it got me were dead friends and traitors... I could have done so much more... if only I LET MYSELF TRY..." With a minor grunt, LIARI HURLED THE MASSIVE ROCK INTO THE SKY, a small smile reaching her lips at the sound of it SHATTERING against the ground! It was a wonderful noise, she reckoned, the smashing of stone against stone. There was very little in the ways of audible stimulation that could truly match up the smashing of rock. MAYBE running water, maybe... or the CRACK of her fist across some faces...
...Quash...
At the thought of his name, the Majin's smile disappeared, replaced with a vicious snarl. A perfect example of a coward. Liari had fought EVERYONE she had come across and had LOST every battle before she'd met him. He came at her with swords, blasts, fists and feet and he was UNABLE to match her... but he seemed happy enough to do it! Sure, he got frustrated with her antics quickly, as anyone dealing with a wild-child would have, but he didn't seem at all overly flustered when it came to approaching combat! Fighting, after all, was in a Sayain's blood! It was what they DID! EVEN NOW, the two sayains inside were PLEADING WITH HER to find an opponent! Hell, they would have settled for someone useless and pathetic even, just so long as they were FIGHTING... But Quash didn't come when it mattered. He claimed it was all her fault, that SHE should have done something instead, that HIS power was maybe only comparable to HERS int hat instant so what could he even have done!?
"You idiot..." Liari rumbled as she stomped through the desert, her form SMASHING THROUGH WALLS OF ROCK AND STONE, COMPLETELY UNIMPEDED! "It was never about you actually WINNING anything... I knew you were weak... You could NEVER HAVE WON... What mattered is that you didn't try. You FAILED by not even lifting a finger."
A coward's excuse "what could I have done." Maybe nothing. MAYBE EVERYTHING!? How could he possibly know!? HE WASN'T THERE! HOW DARE HE PROCLAIM HIS INNOCENCE, HIS COWARDICE AS JUSTIFIED WHEN HE NEVER EVEN STOOD OVER AND OBSERVED THE BATTLEFIELD, THE STAKES, THE PURPOSE!? Liari hissed under her breath as one of the rocks she had thrown CRACKED over the top of her head, her eyes flicking up and...
"...The Moon..." Liari whispered. Her sanguine eyes went as wide as dinner plates and her body fell slack, still standing... but as if suspended by a wire! All the stress, the frustration, the RAGE inside all seemed to quiet down all at once as she stared up at that full, bright, white orb int he sky, its silver light coming down over her like a spotlight, as if illuminating her in the darkness!
Bmp-BMP....
Bmp-BMP...
Liari's heart pounded HEAVILY but slowly in her chest as if it had been replaced with a base-drum, all the sounds of the desert fading behind that of the pulsating muscle! The world around Liari fell away as far as her perception was concerned, she standing within a silver void of pure, perfect moonlight....
"Bluntz... waves..." She whispered, a VERY STRAY THOUGHT CROSSING HER MIND! THAT'S RIGHT! KOMBU AND CALLION STILL HAD THEIR TAILS WHEN LIARI ABSORBED THEM! They KNEW what happened when a sayain went out at night and stared up into the moon! She... She could feel their memories digging themselves OUT of her hypnotized brains, flashing images of a GREAT MONKEY TOWERING AT LEAST 50 FEET TALL! Their raw power, UNSTOPPABLE as the rampaged through the land! She.... She had to look away! For a moment, Liari's majin mind regathered itself from that sayain induced hypnosis, Her eyes narrowing and her head turning away slightly as the impulse to turn away FLARED... and then DIED as a FERAL APE'S FIST SMASHED IT OUT!
"RRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAGH!" Liari SNARLED as her upper body began to BULGE, STEAM FLARING OUT OF THE HOLES LINING HER BODY IN MASSIVE FUMES THAT SCORCHED THE GROUND BLACK WITH THEIR UNFATHOMABLE HEAT! From the rear of Liari's pants, a LONG, tail-like appendage EXPLODED and grew with the rest of her body, the Majin's arms growing at a length asymetrical with her legs, becoming longer and BULKIER! Her head EXPANDED as did her tentacles, all of them ARCHING DOWN HER BACK IN WIDE, PULSATING MASSES that FLAILED as her body grew larger! Liari's eyes flickered a PURE SHADE OF RED before fading back into their natural blacks, two beady red hollow circles STARING OUT as a long, almost dog-like snout STRETCHED from her face, her teeth LENGTHENING into fangs that could tear even the hardest of metals into scrap! All clothes the Majin had worn besides her bracers, pants and armlets were quickly reabsorbed into the now hulking mass that was Liari, the ape-like majin now towering 70 feet TALL, her sheer weight CRACKING THE GROUND under her massive feet!
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH!" She ROARED up into the sky, her arms flexed up by her head as a thundrous SCREAM radiated from her throat! Inside.... it was just FLAMES! PRIMAL HATRED AND POWER FLOODING THROUGH HER VEINS LIKE A DRUG! It was overwhelming to a degree one couldn't even describe, as if the flames of HELL had replaced her blood... and the desire to DESTROY had replaced here mind! There was no reason, no logic, not even a coherent THOUGHT in that head of hers! Memories were buried under a million tons of primal super-weapon energy, identities recieving the same treatment as they two were smashed down and long forgotten! The madness of this form, this.... GREAT APE transformation must have been what the sayains were talking about when they mused about unleashing the "beast inside." THIS was the power that they were hiding... and unlike those sayains... Liari could remember. Somewhere in there, SMASHED DOWN with the rest of the irrelevant, non-destruction thoughts... was Liari. She could see it all through the eyes of this rampaging machine, its ruthlessness, its hunger for carnage. She could feel it PRESS down upon her like a 100-ton weight, as if the whole form itself was weighting down upon her! Its rears RINGED in her ears like a deranged, animalistic SIREN, CUTTING DEEPER THAN ANY BLADE, BASHING INTO HER SKULL HARDER THAN ANY THOUGHT... But all of that wasn't just due to the sayains within her. She knew that some of this madness... was hers. She could feel it inside, just as surely as any wound or gaping gash she had sustained in battle. Something deep inside, buried and split long ago, a VAGUE sense of something ancient and wild... crazier than even THIS! At least THIS thing ran on instinct, limited to what it was programmed to do! The madness this ape-like form drew upon was... something else, borderline eldritch! She couldn't even BEGIN to guess where it started, let ALONE where it ended! ...And it was all inside her somehow, buried underneath all that candy, personality and absorptions...
"RAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!"
The massive blue ape SLAMMED ITS FIST DOWN UPON THE MOUNTAINSIDE, OBLITERATING IT IN AN INSTANT, only the SMALLEST of fractional shards surviving UTTER DECIMATION as they collapsed in a heap! Her other arm WHIPPED AROUND soon after, SMASHING INTO A CLIFF barely taller than herself, SHREDDING OFF A CHUNK SO MASSIVE, the rest collapsed in on itself, falling inward in a crashing heap! The massive blue ape-creature let out a ROAR of satisfaction as it STOMPED and SMASHED through the desert, its hulking steps SHAKING the landscapes, its STOMPS, the continent!
Rearing back, Liari opened her mouth before letting out a MASSIVE ENERGY-BLAST over the horizon, the explosion of which setting off a series of CHAIN EXPLOSIONS as fractional pieces of her energy BROKE OFF the main burst, creating smaller domes of pink-red energy orbiting the MASSIVE ONE IN THE CENTER! The majin monster blasted SEVERAL MORE in sequence across the edge of the desert, leaving behind seemingly bottomless craters CARVED into the Earth's very skin! The massive ape BEAT its chest between each blast, letting out a VICTORIOUS ROAR with each and every THRUMMING SLAM of its fist across its chest before unleashing another FEROCIOUS BLAST!
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUURGH!"
...Liari felt... Unstoppable like this... but not in a good way! It was like she was a prisoner in her own body, forced to watch as the bluntzwaves affected the sayains inside her, forcing to take on this monstrous, alien shape! IF ONLY... SHE COULD CLAW THROUGH THIS FERAL INSTINCT... AND REGAIN CONTROL... The ape SNORTED before coming to a halt, its jaw, once SMOKING with the power it unleashed, would slowly clamp shut into a snarl, the ape slowly lowering itself on all fours as it moved through the desert! Liari blinked... shocked that it suddenly stopped! Granted, it was still CRUSHING through anything smaller than itself and straight up WALKING THROUGH any stone structure unfortunate enough to stand in its way but... at least the thing stopped OBLITERATING EVERYTHING IN SIGHT! ...Suddenly, Liari felt a TUG at the back of her mind, a JERK as if a string attached to the back of her head was suddenly tugged! Her eyes narrowed.... and her focus.... PUSHED THROUGH the feral instinct inside, her eyes slowly closing.... and reopening into the eyes of the primate she inhabited!
"RRRRRGH...." The ape rumbled, Liari raising her arm... to stare at its monstrous shape! Had she.... had she gained control...? Her beady silver irises flicked across the black sockets they glowed within, staring at a massive mountainside... And suddenly, the ape-thing had an idea! Either from the influence of the beastly body or perhaps because it was purely Liari's own curiousity but the hulking, LUMBERING APE would slowly meander its way up to the pillar of stone... before it reached up ONE massive, arm, grabbing the top of it... and the other massive arm to scoop under it! The ape let out a ROAR OF EXERTION AS IT RIPPED THE ENTIRE MOUNTAIN up off of its early hinges, the majin-ape RAISING IT OVER ITS HEAD as if it were a Donkey Kong Barrel! Stone and dust and whatever meager plantlife populated the rocky structure crumbled off under the stress of its separation! She felt the earth BLEED where she had TORN a PIECE into it, the heat radiating from the planet's blood stirring down below reaching and licking at Liari's bare chest.
With a sharp GRUNT the beast SMASHED THE MOUNTAIN FLAT within it's hands, earth CRUMBLING AWAY IN SHARDS DOWN OVER ITS BODY, harmlessly bouncing off its rock-hard surface as the beast let out a victory ROAR, beating its chest in PRIDE!
"RRAAAAAAARAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAH!" The roar... transitioned into something resembling a guttural, choking laugh, as if its MUCH LONGER vocal chords were attempting to contort into something resembling speech! This body... this POWER... Yes, this was what she wanted... The instincts still CLAWED at Liari's mind, threatening to RIP IT AWAY FROM HER AT ANY MOMENT... But what did that matter...? For this second in time, she felt like she could CRUSH ANYTHING, SMASH ANYONE, even that... mysterious energy... Yes... The Liari-ape turned its head upwards towards space, its sanguine gaze staring up hungrily into those million sand millions of stars. She didn't know WHEN she noticed it or how.... but there was a power out there, right now, that rivaled hers in a way that Ayu's didn't... It felt... familiar, perhaps a race she knew of, but she couldn't be certain. Only that... when she closed her eyes and focused... she could sense an energy unlike that she had ever detected before... Alien...? No... different than that... Something else entirely. Whatever it was, with THIS THING, she could....
....She could...
"RRRRRUUGGGKKK!" The ape SIEZED, HUNCHING OVER, its massive fingers CLAWING AT ITS HEAD! What... What was this...!? This PAIN... She...
Clouds of steam FUMED from the Majin's arms once again, enveloping her in a HUGE CLOUD OF STEAM! The beast let out one last roar, sensing what was happening, DENYING THE FEELING OF IT ALL GOING AWAY... but sometimes there were things that not even sheer, raw, animalistic determination could stop! Slowly, the beast would begin to shrink into the depths of the cloud, its arms flailing through it all, REACHING FOR SOMETHING, ANYTHING that could keep it like this... to keep it from SINKING INTO THE TINY, WEAKER form that it once was... but there was nothing for it to grab! It had DESTROYED everything around it, FLATTENED IT!
...As the steam slowly dispersed, inside was revealed Liari in her base form, huffing and puffing, collapsed to one knee... but she was SMIRKING
"This power..." She chuckled, raising a hand up to her face... and slowly clenching it into a fist. "...I have all the power in the world at my fingertips... I can do whatever I WANT!" Liari's eyes FLICKED back up at the moon, feeling her mind JERK to a stop for a second like before... before slowly resuming its normal functions... Whatever was going on inside of her, whatever that APE was, it wasn't starving for a fight anymore, too tired to come abck out again so soon.
"Hmhmhmhmh...NHAHAHAHAH! So this is what those sayains were talking about... If Quash had used this power against me any time before now, he might've stood a chance! ...And now it's mine... AAAAAHAHAHAHAHA!"
