Athren had once again found himself in the uncomfortable position upon a tall, slender pole. He was cross legged with his feet together and only his toes touching the pole itself. He was in a meditative position that he had found rather uncomfortable. Pybara was near him spectating at the moment but wasn't involved much, he wanted to leave Athren to his training, wanted to let him focus on what needed to be done. Athren thought about the words said to him a week prior about balancing ones body and mind and he still didn't quite understand it fully. Given he was learning Spirit Control, it could only be assumed that it was about balancing ones Spirit and mind, having full control of ones self and mastering your own energies but this wasn't exactly Athren's style. He was a fighter, through and through.
Though Athren was experienced with Ki, he never took it to this level. He was a warrior, he manipulated his own energy enough to do damage and avoid damage, there wasn't anything more too it. It was basic, it was easy and he truly did think he had it mastered, but here he was proven otherwise. He was shown that he had barely dipped his toes into what it meant to truly master ones spirit, ones energy. He was nothing but a novice and this training was going to change that.
Even if he truly hated this method of training, he didn't have much of a choice. He was here now and he committed too it and he wasn't going to quit, he'd see it through to the very end no matter how much he hated it. He needed the techniques that came along with this and that wasn't up for debate.
Given his emotional state on what he had recently gone through on Earth, he had found this type of silence punishing. All of the pain he had felt had stabbed at his heart and his mind, he wasn't distracted from any of it. He could still feel the anger, the rage, the hatred and the blame on himself for failing everybody he cared about. It was all on him and he damn well knew it. There wasn't anybody else to blame, nobody else he could point the finger at. He was solely responsible for the outcome and he truly hated himself for that.
Even if he wanted to forgive himself, he knew that would be impossible but he didn't know of any other way to shift his emotions or hide them. They were right there, just underneath the skin and ready to blow out on a moments notice. He was well aware of this and well aware of the issues it was going to cause him. The anger he could get out rather easily, but the pain and heartbreak? He didn't know how to manage that, how to make it disappear long enough that his training could actually be focused on.
Every minute he had balanced there, he tried to focus on himself and nothing more. His eyes were closed and he breathed nice and slow, steady. He felt the wind kissing his skin every so gently with it's cooling breeze, he heard the sounds of the nature and wildlife that were around him, he focused on everything externally trying to allow himself to calm down, to relax. He wanted to find peace in the moment, a peace that would give him everything he needed to focus on himself and though he was working it step by step, it had just seemed as if there was no use to it.
Every time he focused about everything internally, the emotions just came rushing right back to the front. The thought of his kids and how they went out, the image of that fresh and still right there. The way Ukare sacrificed himself in attempt to save the kids, the pile of corpses that Athren had arrived too. His moment of peace was ruined, like a wildfire destroying a forest, it just couldn't be stopped and his feelings were so intense, that he couldn't put them out.
Regardless of everything holding him back, he still stayed and did his best to focus. He spent hours there with Pybara nearby and spectating, supervising Athren to try and see how he does, but Pybara had wanted Athren to figure this out for himself, he wanted him to try his absolute best for getting any kind of assistance. Pybara could sense Athren's spirit, the deepest and darkness feelings Athren was hiding, he felt the pain and the anger, the rage. He sensed every ounce of it and he truly believed that the anger was the only thing hindering this. Pain could be the perfect motivator with the right intentions, anger though, anger would cloud ones judgement and lead them towards a very unfortunate path.
So long as Athren had kept the anger inside and kept dwelling on it, his thoughts would be clouded with a negative mindset. He needed to be free of it, he needed to let go of the anger and allow the pain to take him to his destination. He needed to do this for the right reasons, and even though he had good intentions, the anger was far too strong.
After a few hours of meditating the way he was, his ocean blues eyes finally opened up and he clenched his fists. He was finished, he was angry and it completely overshadowed everything. He couldn't contain it anymore, he couldn't let it go. "This is so fucking dumb!" He exclaimed aloud for all to hear, now drawing the attention of his master.
Pybara having heard this wouldn't take his time to come to Athren's aid, he believed in the demon-saiyan, he knew that he could manage to learn this. He just needed some guidance, he just needed to take a deep breather and reset the situation, he needed to let his anger out, needed to vent.
