"I can't really say I ever got out. I did, still, in a way, I feel trapped by it all. I was freed from those who tried to control me, but after that, I couldn't rely on another person again. When the only love or trust you are shown is a cage then alone feels more liberating. With it, I found no stability, peace, or any real sense of belonging. I found it simpler to see the world I was denied, first, it was awe-inspiring quickly the honey in my mouth turned into ash. I found the places I went, where my presence graced, I was scorned, shunned for the way I looked for the presence I carried. I've been finding my way, this is my life after all."
May prattled on, talking more about her own circumstance. Derrick had managed to craft some semblance of a life for himself, she couldn't really say the same. That was her struggle, to find a connection to feeling safe enough for that. It was a pipe dream, or so Maycair thought. There was a certain kind of personal horror to it all, though these were the steps that needed to be taken to triumph. This was a battle that would not be lost, it would be her moment of resurrection. Beyond demon, beyond Saiyan, that was the true goal.
"I hope my praises can match up to your expectations, though the food will speak for itself." May spoke, looking just around the corner as the building would come into sight. It was a sight to behold, the place had been refreshed from the looks of it, the stall now turned into a full building still smaller in scale. What was absolutely grand, was the wood paneling, the same cloth banner with its' icy trees. Reborn in its own right, with the essence of what made it truly beautiful. Maycair's only question now was the food still the same?
"This is it if this is fine as I remember I saw we make lunch into a thing to go over business. A fun occasional thing to catch up on." It was an offer, it was also a good way to gather information. It was a show of trust, she was offering up plenty of it, though reservations weighed down on her. That was the point of it all, if she was going to help him, it would be a type of investigation. A study to understand the man she was protecting, his values, and how he saw the world. He might be a saint, a sinner, or somewhat of both. Maycair needed to understand more about the world. It was essential to understand herself, to form an identity.
Pushing past the veil May would greet the owners, and other patrons, it was time to chow down!

WC: 506 | TWC: 4,369 Given what he's already known about Maycair, it's not all that surprising to the mob boss that the demon would end up becoming a bit of a loaner and want to stride across the Earth by themselves rather than risk being in the company of those who would seek her own destruction due to a prejudice that they possess. Though given Derrick's own interactions with the worst of the worst demons, how has he become one of few people to not judge her? Perhaps it's due to his own sort of skewed morality, that he always wishes no harm come the innocent, even in the end of his schemes. Of course, that doesn't stop innocent like the police getting involved, but he's always justified it by believing that they were just in the way. Nothing more, nothing less.
"Being alone can be quite healthy to an individual in dosess, but one should never indulge too deeply into it," Derrick begins, "The world can be a cruel place, that much I know for certain, but I do hope you really do find your way in life. Companionship is what all desire. It's unfortunate that it isn't always readily available for those who need it the most." At that point, the two of them rounded one last corner and could now see the ramen stall, and the surprisingly shiny and colorful exterior of the place certainly caught him a bit off guard. He's usually anticipated all of these city stalls to be a bit more run down, but clearly this stall was on top of its game when it came to presentation. All the presentation in the world, however, can't save bad or even mediocre ramen, so there was really only one way to determine if this place really was worth it.
Maycair then extended the offer to make this whole lunch thing into a more regular thing between them, which certainly peaked Derrick's interest. More opportunities to learn more about who Maycair is certainly entices him, but exposing his own personal life could slowly reveal bits and pieces that she mustn't know. Maybe perhaps... "It certainly sounds like a wonderful thing," the boss agrees, "Though I do believe a certain someone else would be interested in joining in on the fun. Do you know of a demon by the name of Hazel? She's been rising up in the world as a popular singer and performer, and... Well... She's my wife. I'm certain the two of you would get along if you had the chance." At long last the two of them had arrived up to the stall, and Derrick goes up and asks, "Can I get a chicken ramen stir fry?" The server gives him a nod, and shouts to one of the cooks in the back about Derrick's order. He'll give Maycair a moment to get her dish as he places himself down on a nearby empty seat. Now thinking about how to pass the time while they wait for their meals.

"I'd love to have a chance to meet her. I've heard of her rising fame, though I don't get to enjoy music often I'm sure I've heard a song or two. From the way you talk about her, I can feel the sense of passion you hold for your partner. I don't meet too many demons, would be enjoyable to have a delightful conversation for one." May said in response to Derrick's comments about his wife. A good married man talked about his wife often, or at least that's what she saw in the couples she watched on the streets. It could be good to see some fine examples of love, her parents weren't good examples of that. It was a battle of trials and tribulations for May to even discover if she wanted anything like that. She felt attraction, but the romance was even more frightening That was a bridge she'd struggle to cross when arriving at it. For now, it was time to focus, focus on a fine meal.
"I'll have the Tonkatsu Spring Ramen please, a Ramune for each of us please." May thought it would be nice to wash the food down with a drink. It was always a good meal when you had a drink, or that's what she thought. "Sorry for ordering for you. It's a special kind of soda, you don't need to drink it if you don't want to. I can drink them both, I just think it's a nice addition to the meal." May tried to explain herself, she just didn't want to be seen as overbearing. She wasn't one who liked to overreach boundaries.
"It definitely sounds like your life is on a pleasant pace. Your wife does sound lovely, and you're carving a place for yourself. I've been getting stronger myself, gaining power but I haven't been able to be that strong. I feel it takes a certain kind of self to take those risks sometime, to put yourself out there in the world." Maycair was just trying to make small talk. Though it wasn't really a tiny conversation to be weighing opinions on how one should live their life. There was just something about Derrick. He seemed like a pleasant individual to talk to. Even if he could say mean things, or find twisted, hurtful ways to abuse that info, she was becoming resolute. Some would call it obsession, Maycair would call it persistence.

WC: 402 | TWC: 4,771 At least Maycair was somewhat familiar with who Hazel was already, so introductions would be a bit more brief than usual. Still, it would be rather interesting to see just how well the two demons would get along. Given his wife's own interactions with various other demons (more specifically her sisters), he didn't entirely know how she would behave around Maycair. "I'm sure you two would get along quite well," The boss continues to reassure her as he goes to order his ramen. After finding his own seat, Maycair takes the opportunity to order her very own bowl, though curiously enough she also orders two sodas, offering to give one of them to Derrick if he would like it. She of course apologizes if he didn't want one in the first place, but he merely just waves it off.
"Oh no, it's completely fine. I tend to just indulge in water and that's about it, but I so rarely partake in other drinks. Perhaps a bit of ramune is in order for myself," he reassures her as she too comes over to the table to continue conversing with him. The demon goes on about how it seems like Derry himself pretty much just about everything together while she was still trying to get stronger and trying to find a place she truly belongs. "There's almost always a risk involved in just about anything, Maycair," Derry explains, "You'd never know what to do about yourself if you don't take steps to see just what you're made of. You've already seen your fair share of scorn, that much I'm more than aware of, but to truly stand above and beyond them, you might just need to risk exposure once more."
One of the servers stop by over to their table to drop off their drinks, to which Derry reaches forward and cracks one of the bottles open to take a quick sip. He continues, "One has to be bold to be able to move up and beyond. Maybe this whole bodyguard deal could be what you need to move up in the world. Maybe it's something else that's possible due to the position. Maybe it's something completely unrelated. The important thing is that you take the shot, even if it brings forth scorn from others. I think you'll figure out very quickly just who you are when you do so."

Maycair would listen, there was some truth to the things he said. She had played it safe for far too long. If she was to actually grow in the world she needed to live in it, not hide. Wasn't life always a battle anyway? Some people had it easier than others, some had nothing going for them. The battle between the have and have-nots was one that was never-ending. It was time for her to take responsibility, it was foolish to live her life in fear. To break the cycle something had to break, if it didn't she was going to break.
Turning towards Derrick she would speak. "I think you're right, it's easier for people to hold hate on you when you don't trust anyone in the first place. Even if it's not true, I need to put myself out into this world. That first step feels like a mountain compared to scaling summits, an edge leading into the abyss. Sorry. not trying to go on, I just found some wisdom in your words. So to put it shortly, I'll follow your suggestion I appreciate it very much." While she gave out her thanks, they would both be blessed with their drink and food.
Steam carrying the fresh scent of scallions and roasted pork wafted into her nose. The ramen before her was layered with anise, chilis, and pepper. The floral, fragrant aroma lifted her to a happier place. It was a time machine, taking her back to the days she would often get this same bowl. The way the noodles bounced splashing broth, the rich meat flavor of the broth, and how the spices contrasted. The only thing more exciting was how the ramune would wash her palate. Such clear refreshing flavors were a true blessing from the gods.
"Dig in, let me know how you enjoy yours. Looks pretty good, I tend to stay pretty close to soups and the fried stuff like the yakiniku. It's pretty hard to pick favorites I'd say."

WC: 376 | TWC: 5,147 As Derry rambled on about taking risks in life and whatnot, it seems like Maycair was listening intently to what he had to share with her in terms of advice she could use in her imminent future. The demon gives his words a bit more thought before confirming that she would, in fact, attempt to take his words and utilize them to help further herself and give people a chance. She agrees to put herself out there and attempt to better appeal to those around her rather than sulk in sorrow from potential rejection. "So long as you try," he briefly comments as their food and drinks arrived at the table, steam pouring out from their bowls as moisture slowly trickles down the bottles of their drinks, waiting for the duo to crack them open.
The smell of his upcoming meal was certainly quite appetizing, though he is a bit curious as to the appearance of his ramen. It wasn't that it was presented terribly or anything, but rather that it all looked so plain to him. Still, he isn't so stingy of a man to deny a meal because it doesn't look like fine art one would find in an art museum or anything along those lines. The taste, after all, is what truly matters to Derrick, and he was intent on diving in and seeing just what all the fuss is about for this ramen. Chopsticks in hand, Derrick picks up a piece of chicken and a few stray strands of noodles and begins to partake in them. He must certainly admit that the taste was most definitely pleasing to Derry, and that this might just be the best ramen that he has had the pleasure of eating. "Well, it more than delivers on taste, that much I know for certain," the boss briefly comments in between bites as he continues going through his own bowl.
He makes it about halfway through his bowl before stopping for a bit and take a quick drink. He turns back towards the demon and decides to continue asking her a few questions, wondering, "What sort of other work do you perform anyway? I recall you mentioning that you were working another job already."

Maycair was so focused on her food for a moment that she almost missed Derrick's question. It was an enjoyable meal for both of them, for her it was a trip down memory lane. It was beautiful how scents and tastes took you back in time better than anything else. She wasn't in the past though, she was back in present, so it was only right if she enjoyed the moment she was in. It wasn't every day you made a brand new friend. "Oh I recently got hired into a job in West City, I work for the head of the city as a form of security. It was kind of funny actually, he came across me as I was healing from some wounds. Thugs didn't like my presence, I roughed them up but not before they got a few licks in. Once he heard my story and saw my potential he hired me only to his team to help look over the city and people. He's a ruthless business owner from what I can tell, he's savvy enough to understand there's profit in keeping your resources stable rather than breaking them down. So he's my first boss, but he doesn't seem like an awful one. I mostly work for side cash anyways but it's a good job I'd say"
May hoped the explanation didn't make her seem strange. She wasn't quite sure on the perception of such a job, but she didn't see any harm in it at the moment. In all honesty, didn't pry though, she'd learn that naturally. She found it was often better when people wanted to tell their secrets in their own time. Was it devious? Maybe, but it was also a form of self-defense. She already had a big enough mouth to cause trouble, so her actions didn't need to be any more agitating than they already were.
She would finish her bowl of Ramen rather quickly. It was generally best to savor things like that, she just wasn't very good at it. After finishing the bowl she would wash it down just a bit more of her Ramune. She could've eaten more, and thought about ordering more but she didn't want to take up more of Derricks's time. She was wondering if she was intruding on his day, but she was enjoying the conversation. It couldn't hurt to ask. "Do you have anything you plan to do today?"

WC: 438 | TWC: 5,585 Derry probably should've anticipated that Maycair had landed a job not too different from what he's looking to hire the demon for: Security. It'll definitely make it harder to commit any sort of business at that location, but thankfully it isn't like he's extending operations to West City anytime soon given who is currently controlling the area. However, he then came to realize that she was working security for the head of West City, someone that Derrick is more than familiar with. Perhaps his meeting with Zero was very fortunate timing. The description of his personality that she's giving to him is certainly quite accurate to his own assessment of the changeling when they first met, though he isn't quite sure how much of that is muddled with Zerori's presence.
"You are referring to the changeling Zero Ika, correct?" he asks, "He is actually a business partner of mine, or rather a very recent one. How awfully convenient." If she's working directly for Zero of all people, then perhaps she isn't nearly as benevolent as Derrick had initially thought. That, or Zero is very much keeping up appearances with her as well. Just to be on the safe side, he'll have to presume that the changeling himself is taking the same route that the boss is taking with the demon. "Most of that stuff is kept out of the public eye, at least for right now. Lots of people are still rather hesitant with the PTO and all that sort of thing, but I'm sure if the people just give 'em time, they'll get used to it."
As the demon finishes her own ramen, Derrick goes back to getting through his own bowl. Once he was almost done, Maycair asks if there was anything else going on today for the man. He takes a bit of time to think to see if he can remember much else during the day, but he can't quite think of anything. "Most of my own work tends to happen at night. I still have things I do during the day, but night's where the magic's at. Of course, that's when I have my own security detail as well, so adding you to those forces would be a bit overkill. For daytime, however, it'll work perfectly. Sometimes I have business to attend to, sometimes I have a few errands, and sometimes I need someone to show me where the best food is at." He gives a soft chuckle at his own little joke at the end. "I'm not going to be busy at work until late at night tonight."

"Well I have to say it's a rather small world, that's the exact man. Recently I had been hired into his security detail after he did me the amazing favor of patching me up. I had run into some ruffians outside his city who had treated me rather unkindly. He treated me right, and saw my potential to help guide me into something more useful. West city is quite prosperous and most of the people there have a good life so someone needs to help maintain order. If you are working together I'm sure he definitely won't mind me extending my services to you. He seems to care quite a bit for profit but there's more profit in a city that's alive and happy so I think he does relatively good work."
Maycair would listen to him further as he would explain the status of his own work. From the sound of it, he was more of a night owl than an early bird but he still had things to do for the morning. It would provide good consistent work for her if he didn't keep any detail during the day. Plus she liked the idea of being paid to be a friendly guide. It wasn't the most glamorous but she was desperate for whatever connection she could get. Derrick didn't seem like the type of man to abuse her kindness, even if she was wrong May kept walls up for a good reason. Standing up from the stand she would walk out a bit from the restaurant so the two of them could talk a little bit better. Business was better discussed away from where you ate, she found it often ruined the taste and atmosphere of great food.
"Well I know the day can be lost pretty quickly, if you have just a bit more time since you're not busy there's something I'd like to show you. If you're gonna be in East City at any point for establishing your business I think I might know of a great spot for you to use. That and I think it's just a lovely view, when I was younger and needed a safe place to feel secluded it was where I'd head to. It shouldn't take too much of your time, besides it should help you understand the city better. As much as I don't like it here sometimes, it was a second home to me for most of my youth so there are some places I hold respect for." Maycair spoke with a heart heavy and mind plagued with thought. If he was willing to go they'd both get to enjoy a refreshing view.

WC: 430 | TWC: 6,015 Boy does Maycair not seem to realize just how far the rabbit hole goes, since she's not only dealing with a crime lord right now, but that she's working for someone who isn't exactly the textbook definition of morally righteous. Derrick himself isn't aware of the full extent of Zero's own deeds, but given how willing he was to deal with a known mafia boss, then he's far more dubious that how he seemingly appears to the demon. Then again, he was apparently willing enough to patch her up after she was beaten down, an interesting scenario given how seemingly strong she was against the crook that she stopped earlier. Perhaps she decided to bulk up a bit in between those two events, but until he can get his scouter sunglasses fixed, Derry would never truly know.
"Sure it'll all depend on a few key projects that I'm working on, but hey, I'll always appreciate the extra security if Zero would allow it," he replies as he finishes up his bowl of ramen. He'd certainly have to come back to this place again to have some more ramen since Maycair wasn't kidding when she said that the food here was this good. Perhaps he could have a brief talk with the people who run the stall at some point and see if they're willing to part with just a bit of information regarding their recipes. The boss is certain that the boys back at HQ would certainly appreciate it.
Derrick thought that it would be the end of their trip at this point, but then the demon talks about wanting to take him over to a spot in East City. She was already starting to think a bit ahead for Derry, wanting to show him a spot here in the city for him to plant his business down on once the time came for him to further establish his own presence here, though she does continue to express her own grievances with growing up in the city. "Well, sounds like someone's already thinking ahead of time," Derry responds, "I still have plenty of time left to spare, so sure, I'd be interested in checking out this spot. It's always one of the more tricky things to find here in cities since it's so rare to find a vacant place that's willing to sign over the necessary paperwork for businesses to finally move in. Plus, competition can be quite fierce, so the earlier we can get a spot, the better. Let's take a look then, shall we?"

"I try to, I spend a lot of time thinking, it's not far from here actually." She would say, ready to guide the way to a potential local for him. She moved forward, continuing to talk to him. "Zero tends to be readily available to do what he can to secure safe, and reliable business so extending my security services would be something he would likely see prospects in. He has done good by me, so I do have a small degree of trust for the man. He cares for his city I know that, he's slowly erasing poverty something I never expected to see the rich do. Then again, with age, I only realize I know less and less of the world. Life's funny like that isn't it?"
Maycair started walking, when she said it wasn't that far away she wasn't kidding. It was only about half a mile down, and then hard left. See the ramen stall had done well because this was near the nightlife, and no one loved food more than late-night drunks, partiers, or just kids dumb enough to try and get in a club. That's what plenty of the buildings would be, but there was one, that she was sure would be devoid of all signs of life. There was fear, and worry around it, it was soon in their line of sight as well. A building that had steps leading into the ground, a basement entrance with decrepit signs broken, torn to the point of being illegible. The stone walls had moss creeping along, a thick carpet of it showing the lack of care. Graffiti was the only sign that it had been visited by people, most likely a hangout spot for young teens.
"I know it doesn't look like much, but no one will buy it. I remember when I was young there were stories that someone had been murdered there. It had quite a history as a cabaret club, which had so many figures and dealings most believed the rumors to be true. The mythos only seemed to grow, to the point they would say a whole family lives there, treating it as their afterlife home. If you're not scared of a potential supernatural challenge it would be the talk of the town if you got it up and running again. After all, they say no press is the only bad press. I'm not much an idea woman, but I think it's a good start for setting down roots." She tried to speak with confidence, it was still only a shot in the dark. The hybrid wasn't any less serious though, to her it really was a good idea.
If Derrick agreed,m if he was willing to take on the challenge, then the only thing left to do would be to go inside. Well, there would also be all the legal issues, and purchases to be made. That wasn't her area of expertise, she just had to try and give him a good offer. She didn't wanna let down new friends.

WC: 412 | TWC: 6,427 It really does seem like, at least on the surface, Zero is doing some good work for the people of West City, it seems. Lowering poverty is always gonna be real nice, and so long as the changeling can get a force dedicated enough to halting crime in the city and makes sure he doesn't blow anything sky high in policy, the rate of poverty will likely keep dropping. Crime is Derry's specialty, but he too knows what happens when there's just too much crime in one area. To truly reap the rewards, one must always be willing to spread out across the city. "Still, running a whole city is gonna be a real challenge. Hope he's brought out some real big help in that department," he comments, still thinking about his very own future ambitions.
Soon the two of them would move about the city, making their way past the ramen stall, which was now starting to be populated by all the young people who had just a tad bit too much to drink at the local bars. Derrick absolutely doesn't blame the shop owners for staying open so late given how business is booming for them right now. Eventually the boss and the demon make it to their destination, and he gazes upon the wreck that Maycair has decided to show him. The place was absolutely rundown, what with all of the torn up signs, graffiti, trash, and other deformities that give off the impression that people wouldn't actually dare to live in this place. At the very least it's sure to be abandoned. "This is the place, I presume?" he asks as he continues looking the place over.
Maycair makes an attempt to make it all the more appealing for Derrick to move a small part of his business here, but the boss' mind was already made up. He cared not for the supernatural given what he's already had to deal with. If the place just so happens to be actually haunted (as unlikely as it would be), he'd just have to get rid of them himself. "I ain't exactly afraid of the ghosts, if there even are any," Derrick replies, "Rather, it's gonna be the cost to repair this place. Perhaps with enough savings, I'll be able to safely move in within the month. Well, I suppose we'll need to take a look inside, so that I can really gage all of the damage."

Maycair would guide the way into the abandoned club. Of course, it wasn't exactly the prettiest sight upon entering but most of that was the signs of age. The damage had certainly been done to the place but its bones still seemed to stand tall. The walls showed the remnants of fine wall papering now covered with artworks of amateur artists. Furniture was torn up and not really usable, some could have had mold but the rotating signs of life were visible. No one had seemed to have been there recently but didn't exactly look like a murder site either. Not it was more a desolate teen hangout more than anything, she didn't feel right intruding on it but they didn't exactly pay for this property so it wasn't like the squatters had a say.
"Looks like whoever was here has decided to head on out, it'll still probably cost you a pretty penny but it's not as bad as I thought it'd be, but we still have to see the showroom and stage. Who knows what could've been there." She would say, walking passed tipped-over tables and the ruined dance floor. She wasn't the best when it came to money, but she knew the type of potential income this place could bring in if it was brought back to its former glory. She would cross through tattered curtains and cobwebs to lead to the backroom. Most of what they had seen was a dining area or a place for the people to enjoy themselves and discuss freely. It was past that small boundary that the world would seem so much more different.
People truly must have feared the ghosts, or whatever nested here. The backroom was persevered in time perfectly, the tables had plates set out as if there supper and a show. The lights were primed in position despite there being no power running to them, but something out of place did linger. The stench of iron, had seeped into the room, that sick scent of decay creeping around the corner as if to pull in more victims. Was it really just a murder that happened here? Something larger had to be going on, how else would such a place reek so bad yet it could only be smelled upon crossing the threshold? Maycair could defend herself, but the paranormal could always be strange so she had hoped she wouldn't need to pull out the demon magic.
"Well, I hope this could be worth your investment, it's a good thing the only work that needs to be done here is making it prettier and a good cleaning. Hopefully, a facelift comes with a steam cleaning too..." Maycair joked, trying to relieve the tension. It was also to ease her own sense of uncomfortability. She'd have to provide some type of exorcism if it turned out to be more than just rumors. It was up to them to find out, what else could go wrong.
"So what do you say, do you think it's worth the effort? You're much savvier than I could ever hope to be at this stuff so feel free to let me know if I'm beating a dead horse. I can understand with how it feels there might be someone watching us and I'm sure the red isn't coming out of the stage but you can smell the potential!" Maycair would encourage, as strange as it was she did feel drawn to the club despite the glaring negatives.

WC: 625 | TWC: 7,052 The first thing that Derry wanted to look at when he and Maycair entered the club was to check up on the integrity of the buildings itself. Making sure that the building was at least somewhat stable enough to actually host just a measly two people would be a very important step in, well, not having a building drop on top of them. Not that they would be in danger or anything, oh no. Derry has been through worse, and he's fairly certain that Maycair herself would be fine in that event, but just imagining all of the extra cleanup alone is enough to keep him on edge. Thankfully, it doesn't look like it's going to collapse at any second judging from the pillars alone, so it should be fine for now. "At least it's stable enough to house us," he comments as he takes in the rest of the room, "Can't say the same about the rest of the place."
As Maycair points out, it does seem that it hasn't been occupied in quite a long time at the very least given all of the dust buildup. It's still going to be a bit of a pricy investment, having to clear out all of this junk, clean the place up, and make sure it can actually host any sort of operation Derry's 'business' has in mind. "Real fortunate I don't have to go through the effort of chasing people out of this place, but it's gonna have a bit of a price tag tied to it, that much is certain." He notices Maycair move towards a room near the back of the one they were currently in and just stood there, gazing in as if there was something worth looking into. Derry too walks on over to look at what it was that had grabbed her attention, and noticed that, unlike the other room this one was far more neatly put together, and it almost looked like people could've lived here at one point had the dust not been here to say otherwise.
It took him a moment to realize what was wrong with this place, but eventually that all too familiar stench of blood and decay creeped up into Derry's nose. It's one he's very much used to, but it does have him a bit curious and worried that this place has housed a potential murder. Then again, perhaps he can get a mark down on the place when he eventually purchases it. Maycair jokes about steam cleaning the place, to which Derry replies, "Steam could probably get the ghost to come out, eh? Get ourselves a little buddy?" He gently nudges her with his elbow and chuckles to himself for a bit before turning back around and moving away from the backroom.
With their analysis done, Maycair was now left curious as to what Derry thinks of the place and if he could potentially get a good deal out of this. He rubs his chin and ponders for a few moments before looking back at the demon and responding, "It's definitely going to cost a pretty penny to fix the place up, but given how much bang I might be getting for my buck on top of being able to get a few potential mark downs in price for... Reasons... Yeah, I think I might be able to get this thing up and running with just a bit more money and some of my own elbow grease when the time comes. Good spot overall, I'd say." His gaze turns briefly back over towards the backroom, wondering if he's going to have to get one of the boys back at HQ to clear the place out just in case...

"Well I don't think there's much more for me to show you, I know it's work but I'm glad you have an eye for it. Well, more glad that I was able to offer some type of assitance." She wanted to be a good worker, plus it would look better to give useful propositions since May was going to be ditching the planet for who knew how long. She wasn't long for Vegeta, or so she told herself. It was still nothing more than a thought but the direction she was heading she felt it was necessary for growth. Maycair had to change if she wished to be useful to her employers, the people who extended friendship. The hybrid had no desire to ruin a good thing so early on, May took a deep breath, trying not to breath in the room too much.
"Would you say this has been a succesful day boss?" May would joke around. It was good to try and have some fun, she just knew she had to be moving on soon. She would see Derry again soon, most likely but she could only hang out for so long. And while he had extended kindness, he had a family that certainly he wanted to return to. If not them, there was always work, she doubted his schedule was really that free if he was such an enterpriser. This small buisness venture should be a good chance for Derrick to get a strong foothold in east city. With the buisness already going on in West City as well things were starting to look up.
The building creaked, it's gasps for air in the untouched space. There were no spectors or wraiths flying to attack them, just the presevered memory of tragedy followed by the smell of mold. It was a luxirous space in a state of petrified decay, trapped as it slowly died. It would be good to bring life into the place, even if the building itself wouldn't have the same sentiemnts. The biggest hassle would probably be convincing people, well no they did love their ghosts. The hybrid didn't know much, she only had a hunch with a bit of street wisdom. That only meant so much from someone who had been a recluse for 99% percent of their life because of abuse and anxiety.
"It's been nice sharing the day with you Derrick, I do hope to be of useful employ for you but I feel as if I need to get settled in finding a place for the night. I'd be up to have more fun, but it may need to wait another day. If i don't get some place, well then I'll be sleeping outside or flying back to my camp." Neither were ideal, but she wasn't sure if any hotels would properly accept her. Sometimes she seemed to sketchy, unworthy of trust to others, hopefully Derrick didn't think the same. May had spent too much in her thoughts recently, the young woman just wanted a moment of peace in her heart.
