For once Ryme felt very comfortable as his ship approached this planet. It was a planet largely made of plains and lakes. It would make hiding his ship hard, he knew where the temple was. From what else he read this would be the secondary headquarters of the organization. By now they had to notice those members who didn't report in. Hopefully, they didn't identify his ship, but Ryme had to have a backup plan just in case. He saw an area around a lake that had a big dead tree. It was more than a couple of miles away from his target, but that'd be his best bet. Plotting his course he'd go back to sleep praying that no alarm went off tonight.
He'd wake up to the planet staring at him through the windows. Yawning Ryme would walk over to the captain's chair. Ready for any kind of problem that could come up with landing. It was his least favorite part of flying this ship. Still, after a couple of days of practice, Ryme felt more confident than ever as the dirt blew up at the ship's entrance. There was no one in sight from miles, Ryme didn't even see movement in the treeline before they landed. It seemed like a peaceful day in the middle of nowhere. Hiding his ship Ryme would take off flying through the air. He had some distance to cover, so that'd be his cardio for the day.
There were signs of life down below, but it was less populated than Ryme expected. If he had to guess there were maybe a couple of 10,000 in the area below him. Ryme was getting soggy as he flew through multiple clouds closing in on the destination. He'd stop in a cloud not far from the temple. There were multiple guards positioned outside, Ryme would get comfortable as he floated, watching the individuals for around 30-40 minutes. He had already found his opening, but he wanted to make sure it was repeatable. Ryme would dive down, slipping into one of the side entrances to the temple. There was a cleaning enclosure to his right that Ryme would hide out in. Listening to his surroundings to get a better feel. It didn't sound like there were many guards on this level. He'd walk carefully avoiding any others, as he explored this floor. Ryme would find himself in an office room, luckily it seemed they were all away at the same time.
He only found one thing of interest in the investigation. That there is a rogue agent that possibly might be causing these deaths. His thoughts would be interrupted by the tome. He had seen so many variations, his eyes always seemed to pick them out in the room now. Ryme would lodge it in his weighted clothing. Now he just had to find a way out of here and back on his ship. He'd peak outside waiting for an opportunity.
His egress from the building went smooth, but as soon as he walked out the door someone saw Ryme. He'd take off flying hoping he'd be the fastest on this base. It seemed his wager paid off as he launched off into space. Ryme wanted some distance to translate the tome.
