This was the first lovely day she had in awhile. May was utterly exhausted from the week she had been having. After cleaning up, having a bath that was long deserved she felt refreshed. Still, that didn’t make it easy to escape the breakdown she had. Coming back from something like that had sent a shock through her body. She was still recovering physically and mentally even if her mood was calm for once. Maybe that calmness was a sign of how damaged she was. Was it the start of healing? May couldn’t be sure, she just knew that she wasn’t going to be taking abuse anymore, not even from herself.
“Whew,” she would sigh, she was even keeping her thoughts inside her head. She had gone two whole days without raving out to herself like a mad-woman! The hybrid just deserved a moment to unwind, west city seemed like it would be the place. She still had to find a bed for sale, the main reason that she was in the this city. Still, she found she needed to work a couple odd jobs in order to make ends meet. She could afford bedroll, but there were other necessities she found she would need for the new home she was building. Some proper insulating material, tools for extracting ground water, a cooler and drying rack. She could maybe get a generator if she was lucky. It would be convenient to have a fully functioning home in her mountain base.
The sun was high and so was the heat. She preferred the climate of the south more but then again humidity could be killer. The dry heat felt more akin to blistering temperatures of her other home. It felt wrong to call it that, but one day she would have to return to hell. May was aware she would eventually have to come and face the demons of her past, the demon that was her mother. Struggling to snap back into her sense she gave herself an awakening slap. May was smart enough to not do it when prying eyes gazed upon her. People really did love to stare, they didn’t care what effect it had on other people. Words of her had to have been traveling to local line of gossip, just the other day she stumbled down the streets painted with own sanguine ichor.
No, now was not the time to agonize over what had been happening. Learning, growing from the experience was the only way to move on, to actually become stronger. Awareness was the first step, ironically enough she was rather lacking in that at the moment. May had been wandering for more than a few minutes. Now she was in. A section of town that she was unfamiliar with, and there was always trouble in the unknown. She had to be cautious, to turn back from whence she came. Confusion began to wash over, where did she come from, what direction had she been walking. She wasn’t just lost in though, May was stranded.

Zerori was never known to take uncalculated risks; everything had a chance of success, failure or simply turning into a different opportunity. East City was typically her turf but branching out (especially if the people she was investing in were talking with the new owners of the city in town) meant that she needed to make riskier decisions or potentially lose it all. Money was going to be tight, either way, and if things really got dicey? She could take what she had in secret and bounce to the stars with a lot less grandiose digs.
Until such time, however, Zerori cautiously slinked around West City for a while. She’d just arrived with the intention to keep her ear to the ground and see just what Zero and Ryme were up to. While she didn’t really see Ryme as a threat in comparison to his brother, she knew what loyalty looked like. It was during her walk around, head covered in a hoodie she’d bought at a store nearby that she caught sight of someone interesting. The black hair was normal - the blue skin… not so much. She’d paused, looking the figure over as she tried to get as many details as she could before it occurred to her that they appeared pretty lost.
How? Who goes out to a place like this and gets lost? Zerori thought, equal parts curious and judgemental. She snorted softly through her nose, stepping away to continue onward and leave the woman to her fate when the sound of gunshots rang out through the air. Very close by. Beneath the hood, Zerori turned to look around and see if it was anything she should worry about; gunshots may not bother her much given she was a Saiyan but people could always get lucky.
She turned back to where the woman was, a grimace on her face as the familiar (and honestly TIRING) tug of her conscience encouraged her to stay just a moment longer to see if this woman was going to get into trouble. By the sound of quickly approaching footsteps, the likelihood of it was becoming higher and higher. In mere moments, the area the woman was standing in was met with at least four to five street-wear dressed individuals and surprise surprise-
They were armed with weapons.
"... Damn," Zerori muttered, looking away for a moment to curse her luck before gradually approaching quietly from the shadows and into view of the woman. While she might intent to make sure this lost little lamb would find their way home out of the 'goodness' of her heart (she'd ask for same cash, for sure), the lack of words or a response paired with the crew approaching her might actually have the opposite intended effect.

"Hey little thing where do you think you're going." A voice would say, snapping her attention, one of a group of five. It really seemed like she had bad luck with groups in this city. They looked to be armed, but their agenda could've anything. She would start to speed up, acting as she couldn't here them. Of course that only seemed to annoy them further. "Come on blue bird we don't any trouble we just wanna talk, but if you ain't gonna give us the time of day we'll take what we want." The seeming leader said. May turned to face him, the bully was seemingly thick like a tree, but he had buck teeth and a rusty pompadour. Seemed like West City was behind on style.
"I don't want any trouble either, just looking for a a furniture store, or a mattress store." She noted, edging away slowly as she spoke. Their power levels weren't very high, but she didn't want to be causing trouble. From what she was learning there were quick ways to get killed. Rusty, as she now knew him, would continue his chatter. "Well I can show you to my mattress of ya need a place to rest."
Real smooth talker she would think to herself. "No thanks, I don't like to nest with rats, I think I'll be able to find my way to a more suitable place to sleep. A gutter may a bit cleaner." She was lonely, but not that lonely. She did think she was pretty funny, they did not. May was ready to fly, but the rusty rat gang was slick and on her like oil
Each of them would grab May, she would in turn stomp on one's knees, she would crack Rusty right in his beaver biters. "Here's some smack if you wanna talk it!" May say to him, flying into the air to kick two more in the face. A bit of her demonic rage flickered, she had to hold it in. This wasn't here place, there was no safety, no retreat. May had to pick and choose her battles, this would one she would happily take.
"You bitch!" Rusty would whine as a tooth feel out, picking up a lead pipe he would slam it into May, bending it over her head. That hurt just a little, enough to aggravate her. If she was gonna fight, she was gonna put some fear into them. She would go into Demon Blight.

As Zerori approached, only just barely able to hear bits and pieces of what the low lives of the area were saying, a cold feeling of dread seemed to grip tightly to her heart as the woman seemed to try and dissuade them with her own words as she backed away. The feeling that bloomed in her chest after that was almost visceral; a hatred so intense that it actually caught the hybrid off guard. Here was a stranger, someone she didn’t know a DAMN thing about, obviously in trouble and about to potentially be assaulted and she was already emotionally held hostage by her anger. Already, Zerori could feel the tendrils of darkness begin to seep from around her - black and red miasma-like energy visible to anyone that would look her way.
It wasn’t quite rage but the wrath that she felt was familiar.
Briefly, before she could stop the vision, Zerori saw the flash of a familiar face from her past. Any chance she had of controlling herself was gone with the wind as they converged on her. She could see the woman defending herself adequately and the fight she gave to them had given her enough pause to see that she wasn’t just a helpless victim… only to watch the apparent leader slam a pipe over her.
She reacted without thinking, her casual footsteps now rage-filled stomps that heralded her intervention like an unstoppable tank. A couple of the scum had turned to her, ready to attack whoever was bold enough to stop them, only for Zerori to swiftly spin kick one INTO the wall in a span of a second and turn to the other with a feral snarl upon her lips and front kick that one into the dumpster. By the way the metal was bent and curved around his body… it was easy to tell that many bones were likely broken upon impact.
Her gaze immediately was turned onto the leader, however, her gaze no longer bearing the blue hue of a controlled woman. Instead, her eyes glowed red with the rage of a Demon crossed. Briefly, she noted the magenta glow of the woman’s eyes - a connection was felt for a second. The same as when she met Athren before it returned to glaring at the man that slammed a pipe over her head. She held out her arm, fingers curled menacingly as she called out to him, “Hey.” It was a firm command, meant to catch his attention. Whether or not she did, however, wouldn’t matter in the least as her black and red energy molded suddenly into a terrifying vector of a clawed arm behind her.
With nothing else left to say, she savagely swung her arm across in front of her and - in that same moment - the command of her arm would swing into the man’s side with the intent to launch him like a rag doll into the wall on the woman’s left. Whatever hit the wall, however, wouldn’t be a full body; his head and legs completely separated from his body before it ever hit the wall. Her gaze would have followed his body, the blood work painting the ground and wall before she turned her gaze to the woman and lowered her arm.
The warp of demonic energy hadn’t quite abated as she spoke, “You okay?”

Getting help was already a foreign concept to May. Even the only true friend she had failed to be kind, helpful when the bullies of her family hunted for. Someone stepping into to fight for May, to stop her from being treated like scum now that was absolutely bewildering. Fury had beast against the walls of heart, of her mind. Ready to tear this man apart, someone a soul beyond her power strode right in. With a strong ferocity her Ki had cut through the man’s skin like butter. If he wasn’t afraid before he surely was now. The others would seem to catch the hint as the crowd started to scatter away. Leaving behind two demons, one of which had no idea how to respond.
Kindness was always a scary concept, it was a helping hand or betraying knife. With all the anger now pouring through her as demon blight took her over it was hard to think. This woman was not hear to hurt her, if she was it wouldn’t be hard to take out May. No she was a flea compared to the people she was beginning to meet, maybe they saw something within the Hybrid, but panic was starting to take over. She wasn’t sure how to act, to react to this stranger that had showed up. Fighting wasn’t the best, fleeing would be hard as well. Lost and scared, now this was a more familiar feeling than anything else. May was trying to grow, she couldn’t let fear guide every decision. With reluctance, she would stay, but her guard was up. It was hard to let go of the raging power that pulsed through her veins.
With a soft growl she spoke “Yeah, I’m okay now, I’m used to being treated like this. It’ll just take a second for me to calm down, its been a few emotional days since I arrived here. Some have been welcoming, but I guess some people still feel they own strangers, or women.” A look of disgust shot through her eyes as she looked towards the fleeing punks. Boiling blood and eye color changes weren’t easy afflictions to temper down either. Fight or flight was active in its full bloom so May had to be cautious about what she thought about. Getting too riled up would end up in someone putting her in her place. It was at that point, that she truly felt the energy of the woman before her. Fear and respect were still in their lanes but this was a different feeling. It was curiously, she wasn’t sure why exactly but the Ki of this woman reminded her of her home. Well her other one, but she didn’t seem demonic. Then again, demons came in all shapes and sizes.
“I don’t mean to sound rude but, you feel familiar, you’re not exactly normal yourself are you?” she asked. That was incredibly rude, but she couldn’t back peddle. Doing that would make things worse, May had a good habit of turning a simple response into a speech.

While Zerori was sure she had an idea of what this woman meant by being treated in such a disgusting manner, it didn’t deter the hybrid from giving a scoff and rolling her eyes, “Not something you should be used to… but I ain’t gonna argue. Be glad I was here, though I imagine you might have had that handled well enough,” She gave the woman a once over, the red of her eyes still bleeding a malevolent shine before she tried to meet gazes with the woman. She also needed to calm down before she reacted even MORE aggressively than she felt and with a slow sigh through her nose, the glow of her power began to fade.
When she opened her eyes, the red was replaced with the muted light blue that was so outlandish for her race. All at once, the sudden use of magic in such a short time had her a little dizzy but she did her best to hide it behind a smug smirk at the question being asked, “Me? Normal? Whatever gave you that idea?” Zerori teased, turning away to walk over to one of the other fallen punks she kicked into a dumpster and rolling them over onto their back with her foot.
They were in pain but alive - some of them, at least. The ones that tasted her claws were hardly considered bodies with how she’d ripped them to pieces. She turned back to the woman, taking this moment to ask, “You want to finish these guys off or let them live to tell the tale?” While it wasn’t exactly a difficult question, the morality and nature of it’s reasoning remained. “They’ll either learn their lesson if they live… or tell others about you and bring more and I won’t be around to help you. Or-” She casually raised a leg to the groaning body on the ground, pressing the sole of her boot against his throat.
“I can clean the mess up. I intervened so, naturally, I’m offering to prevent this from happening again. Again - you’re choice…” She realized she was offering to kill trash to someone she didn’t even introduce herself to. “Zerori, by the way. Late introduction but better late than never, yeah?” In spite of her threatening posture, Zerori smirked before speaking with the teasing tone of curiosity, “Do I get to know your name?” She knew they was more to this woman than met the idea and it wasn't like she was trying to withhold information about herself, either. They were two unknowns, similar in nature somehow and meeting for the first time. And both were cautious.

"I'd rather make an example of them, I've been to hell I know it doesn't teach their type much. Creeps like them would probably find some way to fit in. If you let their peers do the work the shame will follow them much longer. I think there are plenty of ways we can approach that. I'm not generally in the habit of taking lives well intentionally that is. They managed to survive a little messing around." May said, rage still seething from her. It would take a moment but the temper inside began to calm down. With a deep breath the magenta tint to her aura. The trembling feeling in her aura would calm down as well. It was hard to tame such bloodlust but she put her best work into it.
"I'm calmer now, I'm sorry for being rude and not sharing my name either. I am Maycair, I gotta say it's nice to meet you. Not many would step in to help a stranger. Even those who would want to have their fun with scum like these don't say much. We could have some fun showing them a lesson if you want? I find it rather fun to take people on a flight. I'm sure they would love to have a few of the city. I hear it's rather pretty this time of day. You boys wanna go for a flight?" May would ask them, looking down on the men with a bit of a smirk. It was easy to hold contempt in her heart, the real challenge was letting it go. The power she had on the inside only was fed by these emotions, it fed into them much stronger. That fuel, that encouraging rage was almost intoxicating. She wanted to give, to make people pay for their actions. Consequences should come when people take wrong actions. No that sounded like the natural punisher her demon side craved to be. Was that her place to say, was that the proper way to do good? May didn't like putting herself in such a spot, to make such decisions. Yet, that's what it meant to form a set of morals, to teach yourself what was right and wrong when no one would teach you. May wanted to learn to make the right choices, what would her new friend persuade her too do. She looked at Zerori, wondering how this day would progress,

Of all the things Zerori had expected the woman across from her to say, ‘I’ve been to Hell’ wasn’t one of them. With her foot still over the guy’s neck that laid on the ground, Zerori narrowed her eyes in thought as Mayclair finished her reasoning behind not desiring her to finish them off. Upon hearing that she didn’t typically take the lives of others, Zerori would give a half-hearted shrug before taking her boot off of his throat, “That’s fine by me. Can’t say I exactly agree on the sentiment, but I suppose I can accept that the context matters,” She briefly glanced down, a look of disgust crossing her face before she redirected her energy and attention back to more the interesting reason she was even here in the first place. She had a nice name, a little different than she would have expected, “Mayclair, huh? Don’t worry about being rude or anything like that,” She scoffed with laughter, “You’ll find that I like to fuck with people. Default mode, y’know?”
At the suggestion to have a little fun by taking some of these guys for a ride… Well, how could Zerori say no? She looked down at one of the other trash bums that hadn’t had her attention before and walked over to one, leaning down until she was nearly face to face with them - arms casually laying along the tops of her knees, “You know what?” She turned to toss a wink over to her new friend, “-I think I like how you think, Mayclair.”
Weakly, the one she’d set her sights on would try and save himself, “N-No, I don’t wanna-!”
Without much more preamble, Zerori was grabbing one of the men by the pant leg and floating up into the air, “Can’t hear you, let’s GO!!” She laughed, now nearly ten feet from the air and almost laughing loud enough for anyone to hear out in the main street as he flailed and screamed like… Well, like a little bitch. She looked over at Mayclair, waiting for her to grab her own amusing jackass before she floated up higher and higher. “Careful,” Zerori warned, feeling the slightest slipping from the grip she had on his clothes. “I might just drop you without meaning to if you keep wiggling around like a damn fish!”
Ignoring her dangling and very vocal victim for the moment, Zerori couldn’t help herself as the tidbit of information Mayclair had mentioned just would relinquish itself from the forefront of her mind, “Yo, you said something interesting earlier!” She called over the sound of wind in her ears the higher up they went over the city. “You really from Hell? As in, you, uh…” She struggled with how to word her question with her hand visibly moving in a ‘c’mon, what is it?!’ gesture before she finished, “-You came from there to here?” She hated the way that made her sound stupid but she couldn’t help it - the idea sounded incredulous!

It wasn't much to try and strike fear into these average good for nothings. The one Zerori seemed to taunt at first was seemingly shaking already, maybe that was from the shock? She was an interesting individual from May was catching from observation. Her regard for life seemed to be different but she was a respectful individual. She could return that in kind for her as well. She was a bit delighted to find out she was up for her little game, seeing how quickly she had already taken to it. The thug May had chosen as a victim was in for a slightly different type of air transport experience.
"I hope you're ready, we're going to have some fun gentlemen. You wanted to show me a good time, so how about we return the favor? I hope you like a good ride." The playful energy Zerori had was refreshing, there was an almost manic saturated tone to May. She followed quickly after, dragging her prey off the ground slightly before turning to shoot straight up in the air, as fast as she could before taking an abrupt stop. The view up here was beautiful, she wondered what he thought as the force all hit his body at once. The young gentlemen surely had to be having a good time, as she looked at him she could see he was vomiting... "Well I guess I can't expect much, the view is absolutely breathtaking. Was there somewhere you wanted to go? This is a shared journey, so feel free to speak your mind. What about you Zerori? How are you and your guest, is he enjoying his time up here? I feel they're being a bit ungrateful."
She would love to continue joking but her new friend had asked an important question. It was a bit of her past, but if they were trusting one another to have such a fun time then it was only fair to explain some. "Yeah you have the right idea." she'd say with an exasperated sigh. "I was born down there, every 6 months I'd switch between worlds, it was a really great childhood you know, really easy to make friends. If you can't see from my tail I'm not a normal demon either, I'm a halfling. So both worlds had their own torments, I could go on but I feel this is a fun time." Maycair did her best to explain without going too much into detail. It wasn't very polite to drop your full backstory when making new acquaintances. She wasn't sure what the proper decorum was for frightening street thugs, but it didn't seem like the best situation for emotional revelations.

Whilst her victim didn’t get the ‘trip of a lifetime’ like Mayclair’s human had gotten, Zerori was making sure that the man dangling by his pant leg was able to feel every potential fall as she let her grip slip a bit ever so often while asking her questions. She laughed at her new companions’ teasing, playing along, “Hey now, maybe they just haven’t gotten to go fast enough?!” And that was all the warning she had to give for her guy before just straight up dropping him their current height. Keeping her senses keenly focused on the falling human, however, Zerori would cross her arms and respond to Mayclair, “Wait WHAT?! Go between worlds? That sounds really fuckin’ awesome,” She brought a hand up to her chin, still allowing her screaming captive to fall a bit long before she gave a sigh and smirked, “Gimme a sec,” and dove down at incredible speed.
It took her less than seconds to catch the screaming, crying and - if her nose was right - pissing crybaby with a jerky snatch from the air. Out of breath and practically whimpering from being so scared shit-less, the man in her grip wouldn’t be able to get a word out before Zerori snarled at him only loud enough for him to hear. “I don’t want to see your face again after this. If I do…” Her eyes flashed red briefly before she dropped him the rest of the five feet from the ground and watched him scramble away.
While she was having fun playing Mayclair’s game, Zerori would have rather learned more about that… ability she had.
As she flew back up to meet with her, assuming she didn’t fly down to meet her near the ground, Zerori would linger for just a bit before she got right to it, “Sorry I’m biting down on this like a dog with a bone, but-” She approached just a little bit closer, her expression showing just how increasingly interested she was about this, “I’m not normal, either. I know something about me is similar to something about you and if I can find out anything about myself, I-!...” Zerori stopped suddenly, her words sounding nearly panicked and rushed and THAT was NOT how she wanted to sound. Not to someone that was clearly a stranger and not enthusiastic about talking about herself.
Zerori wasn’t the type to sound desperate and she wasn’t going to start, “Forget what I said. You wanted to play a little longer, yeah?” She could play her games, get to know her - be Human even if it wasn’t in her nature. It was what she was good at, even if this nugget of something new was like a noose around her neck and piece of food on a string in her face.

"It can be pretty cool to switch between worlds, in all honesty, most of the time it's been a good tool for escape. I can transport myself between earth and hell. One of the major downsides is I have to let it recharge when I do, I generally half to wait a couple of weeks before I can do it again once I've done it but I haven't been to the underworld in quite some time. I don't really want to run into the family I have here, so I'm a bit on the run." Maycair said trying to explain her situation a bit. Her mother wasn't someone she wanted to talk to any time soon. It was unlikely to be a friendly conversation by any means. She shook it off, which would scare her traveling partner a bit. As much fun as she was having, she'd need to set him down.
Flying toward the ground Maycair would drop the thug she was toting around. He was shivering, fear had set into the point of paralysis for the young man. They had likely learned their lesson besides it was time for a little bit of girl talk. Returning back to Zerori she would respond to the further statements the young lady had made. They were feelings of longing that she felt all too well. It was only right to try and provide whatever comfort she could. "I'm more than happy to continue playing with you, It's nice to make some connections. But do not see my comfort as a reason to not say the things you wish to know, for the things you are searching. I value honesty, I haven't been given a lot of it in my life as all those I've trusted have stabbed me in the back. I do feel a kinship to you, I believe it could be in our blood. I've mentioned my demon half but I am also half saiyan. My tail is more than enough indication of my status but I do not hold pride in it. We can do what you wish, you stepped in and showed me kindness. If you don't want to relieve your feelings, to dive into the unpleasant I"m sure we can have fun. But every day leading up till now I've had the world at my back so the only thing I shy away from is friendship. Those are my plights."
Maycair didn't want to bore her with details of her life story, but at the same time, the discomfort was palpable. The desire to invest in this connection, and to ask questions was the most pertinent thing to her. Loneliness was a deadly road, she was filling it kill her from the inside out. This was the leap of faith, the trust she needed to place in people. It was risky, just as all endeavors were. There was something, that had brought them to this moment. They could enjoy games, or get to know one another. IT was a coin toss to the fates at this point.

The more Maycair had explained this power to shift between worlds, the more Zerori’s interest had piqued. An ability to escape in a dicing situation? Yes please! To know, however, that Maycair was actively avoiding her family that lived in Hell, however, was a bit of a shame. While she didn;t have any such desires, Zerori knew just how difficult a family could be to cope with. She was on a different mission, however, and if her mother was a Demon and lived in Hell of all places, well… it was a better lead than most she’d ever had in her life. After having gotten rid of her little captive, Mayfair had seemed to want to do the same and had released her own captive. Watching them scurry off was like watching a couple of mice run from a predator, but while it enticed her to give chase, Zerori wanted to give her full attention to Maycair.
And it was ‘time to get shit off our chest’ time. Fuck, here we go, it wasn’t that she didn’t want to hear the girl’s story - it fact, it was exactly what she wanted, but nothing in life came for free and that meant she had to give up her own life story. This woman was kind, though, and Zerori could put a money bet down on Maycair not having a forceful bone in her body to pressure Zerori in talking. Maybe it was because there was a similar connection, there…
Listening to the offer and, in a matter of moments, feeling silly for her aversion to talking about herself Zerori would give a nod after a few brief moments, “Honesty I can give, even if there are some secrets I have to keep… to tell you the truth, I thought the same thing, too. I only met one other person besides me and let me just say, it’s complicated between the two of us!” She laughed, adding in a moment later, “-he’s fun, though. Tough guy. Bleedin’ heart sort, even if he won’t admit it…” She swallowed, missing Athren. Clearing her throat, Zerori continued, “I’m the same, though we’re pretty different - you and I,” She cocked her head, getting a good look at Maycair before she crossed her arms with a smirk. “It’s kinda cool, honestly, since I’ve hardly met any other Demons that looked-... uhm,” She struggled for words, scratching the underside of her jaw. “Demony? Horns, little forked tongues - shit you see in movies honestly and yeah. I know. That sounds fuckin’ dumb.”
She was getting comfortable. Was that a good thing? We’re they ‘vibing’, as the kids said? Maybe she didn’t have to talk about her reasons? Taking a moment, Zerori would just throw her line out there. “I’m looking for someone. Not sure if they’re even alive but one day they were there and the next they weren’t. My old man is gone, I’m sure of that but my mother could still be out there. She taught me the magic I know today but there’s a lot I still don’t get,” Shifting uncomfortably from foot to foot, Zerori finally finished, “You’re the first lead I’ve had on the other part of me in 15 years. No offense, but…” Zerori grinned widely, “-I’m probably gonna annoy the shit out of you if it means learning how to get to Hell.”
It was a HUGE risk making her intentions honestly known but if Maycair wanted honesty and that would help her to learn whatever technique she had to get to Hell-? Pride be fucking damned.

It was weird, to hear not only had she meant one like herself, but the possibility that there were more out there. Demons and Saiyans could both be rather emotional bunches but maybe that was what attracted the pairs most of the time. Maybe it was that lust for power, but all those she had met seemed to be a mixed punch. The words of her kind only seemed to be true of extremes, it was what had sparked the idea to see her father's homeworld. She would eventually, have to return to her other home of hell. That was the one she was terrified of, of having to face her mother.
"It's good to know there's more of us even if it's just one. It seems to be of two different worlds so distinct can cause all sorts of problems. I'm avoiding hell myself because someone is looking for me. My mother, to be exact while she and my father never held any true love for each other, me escaping her there and killing him had definitely put a damper on our relationship. I was their weapon, that's all I was ever meant to be. Now, as my strength rises I know soon, that I need to confront her, to get past the rest of what they left me with. Under them I had no identity, I have spent more of my life as nobody than I ever have as myself. My name is even something that holds disdain I just try to reclaim it." May prattled on.
It could've been risky, telling so much to a stranger but she was reaching her emotional threshold. She could understand they both had potentially very different views on family. Still, being around another hybrid caused her to lower her guard, to let down the walls she had spent so much time putting up. Zerori wanted to return to hell, May wanted nothing more than to escape it all. Still, there was value in both of them journeying to the underworld. So, it seemed like there was a road trip to plan.
Her brow curled, weighted by the torrent of feeling that rushed into her skull. She didn't want to do it, to make that promise, but she always did what she thought was right. That didn't mean it always was. "The hardest thing for me to offer is my trust, all I've ever had was mutual partnerships. In me teaching you this, in me possibly taking you that requires mutual trust. For there is no other way back if we get trapped. I will take you to hell. First, I planned on leaving the planet soon to search for some answer about myself, but when I return it all starts. It may be for different reasons, but let's find our moms."

Zerori listened with patience, confident that Maycair was receptive to the idea of helping her out with her own goal. What she heard, however, had the hybrid woman’s smirk gradually fade away. To not only be treated as less but only considered a weapon? By her family?! It left a bad taste in her mouth, especially when aycair had made it clear that she didn’t want to go back to Hell while she was being searched for by that very same person. Could she afford to wait? Demanding something like making her go back felt like Zerori was making Maycair walk into a prison. “...I’m sorry. That’s not something anyone should have to go through. We don’t have to do this if you-” But stopped her words as she heard Maycair continue. Out of respect, she wasn’t going to tell her to stop or force her to ‘do her bidding’ because they were both half-breeds of the same race.
What was said, however, shocked even Zerori and made her incredibly uncomfortable. It wasn’t that Maycair wasn’t in the right by asking for trust… It was just a difficult step to take when this was their first meeting. However, just as quickly as the feeling had arisen, Zerori trampled them back down. If she was going to ask for May to go back to a place she’d specifically run away from, Zerori was going to pay the same value back!
“Hey,” Zerori called to Maycair, bringing up a hand to pat the side of her shoulder in what she hoped was comforting, “I’ll do you one better! When you come back from whatever planet your going to and teach me how to go to Hell, I’ll help beat the shit out of your mom if she tries to keep you there as her personal fuckin’ weapon,” Emphasizing her offer by punching her fist into an open palm for good measure. “Hit me up when you’re back, alright?” She held out a hand, offering her palm to shake, “It’s not very common and I’m not really used to this kind of thing, but… I trust you. Makes sense I do the same, yeah?”
She wasn’t going to Hell right away or being offered to learn this ‘ability’ to go to hell right now but Zerori was satisfied that they’d even come to an agreement at all. Besides, Maycair wasn’t the only one that had unfinished business to take care of. Before Zerori might try and take her leave, she took a step back and pulled both arms behind her head to rest them with the fingers interlocked. Casually, she dropped, “So, before we end our festivities tonight, do youuu… wanna grab a drink?” She gestured with her head in a random direction, grinning at Maycair in an attempt to liven up the mood of their roller coaster ride of an introduction. ”No pressure, by the way. I’ve got some things to finish up tonight if you’d like some time to, like… relax and shit. Figured drinks were a good option!”

"I can't think of anything that sounds better than that, It'll be some time till we see each other again so I think it'd be great if we could make the best of it together. I'm sure even with her goons and iron heel that we'll be able to stand up to knock her down a peg." May would say, a small burst of confidence coming up. Having someone by her side, a friend was more inspiring than all the training she had been enduring up to this point. It was all actuality, nothing but a fraction of the pain she was going to endure. The things Vegeta would bring, the trouble, and the power it offered were turning points. Maycair was ignorant of the woman she would become, benign naivety. The world waited for no one, so she deserved to enjoy a day on earth.
"I think I'll join you for that drink, I'm sure we can at least enjoy our night. I have to make a quick trip over to East City after today, and then I'll be prepping to leave the planet. I hope we both have good stories to catch up on when I return. I have a few that I'd be willing to share as long as the beverages are hard enough." May spoke offering up an attempt at humor. Just the concept that someone would be waiting for her numbing. The jovial sensation she felt sent fire and ice through her veins, she didn't wish to show it but excitement returned to her life. With it came fear, these were baby steps toward the person she wanted to be. The only fear, the only worry was would someone come to try and knock her down a peg? Were the people she met planning something to remind her that a beast like Maycair shouldn't be allowed companionship?
Anxiety wished to take hold, to remind the hybrid of the pain she felt. To remind of the bruises and scars left behind only days ago because of a simple mistake. Maycair only had so much longer before a snapping point, one that would be met with icy cold and cries of anguish. She was not a fortune teller, but the dread of something coming sat on her shoulder. This day was needed, this distraction was needed from whatever lingered on the horizon. "I've never been able to find true trust in the world, I've only been bit when I've given it up but we both seem to be hanging from a limb. We must hang on tight to weather the storm, so when my journey does end you will be the first I find. I just hope, no I will be able to extend a stronger, more reliable hand when I come back. I believe even the Makyo star will rise for us when my mother senses our presence in hell. It is a day I anxiously anticipate."
