It was the 9th day since he had left his brother, they had been relaying messages back and forth. There was going to be a large battle that his brother would stream to him. He'd have all his devices set to sound and the loudest setting for when Zero called. He was still on the ship looking out at the black void as he glanced over all the readings before sitting down in the captain's chair. He'd slouch down for a second enjoying the privacy. There'd be things he missed about this once he had an army, he'd rarely be flying his ship.
He still had more than a couple of days to go, but he had managed to not have any serious homesickness. The loneliness lingered, but Ryme felt as if he could act, unlike the last time. The next planet was a large collection of island nations, all governed by beast humanoids. The temple he was looking for appeared to still be standing in that location. Whether the nation was waiting for him or dead mattered little to Ryme.
As he docked the ship and there was no activity from the houses he assumed it was the latter. Stepping out, Ryme would walk out of the ship and walk up the large hill in front of him. Looking around it appeared that the hill continued to get steeper until the need for stairs. Ryme had a strong feeling that the temple would be at the top of these steps. He could fly, but that'd blow their cover immediately. Ryme wouldn't encounter any trouble on the way to the top.
Ryme would walk over to the former church and start to explore for any tomes that looked similar to the collection he had acquired on the ship. Every door he opened was a hurricane of dust as he moved about. He wondered when was the last time anyone visited this island and better yet why. Ryme would spend the rest of the day looking at the large collection of books in the temple. Eventually, he'd find the one he was looking for, walking out of the temple Ryme would get his anticipated call.
He'd watch the glory of Liari's two victories as well as her changes into a new form. She had grown larger than even he got in his taller forms. His brother had assured him that everything was under control even with her new powers. Ryme was doubtful, but he knew his brother would be quick to call if he lost control.
Ryme would get back on his ship stowing the book away in the cocaptain chair and doing his usual rounds. That's when he heard it, there were the typical made-up I heard somethings, where it was a natural sound or maybe something else. This was the opposite as the noise was made everyone in the vicinity was made aware of its oddity. The sound of metal ringing. If Ryme weren't on his own ship he'd start Ki blasting immediately. Lucky for the child as well, because that's who had stowed away on the ship.
Ryme would escort the child off the ship, where it would transform into some kind of sand octopus that wrapped up Ryme's left leg. His right arm charged up a Ki Ball then flung it straight at the creature's head. It would cause an explosion of goo as Ryme hit the ground still wrapped up in a tentacle. He'd take a minute pulling off suckers in a death grip before he was free. Ryme would double time back to the ship. He'd start typing up messages to send his brother regarding their friend's transformations. Ryme felt uneasy about it all.
