Ryme woke up with his neck and back aching in minor pain. He had fallen asleep reading at the table. It had been the least dangerous planet so far, Ryme would muse to himself as he walked around the ship putting everything away. Ryme was definitely the brother you could find asleep over some new hobby or area of study. He'd just go until he couldn't, Ryme had to be sure to give it his all. That way all the people who are against them can never say he didn't try.
Looking over the pilot controls, Ryme could see that they were only minutes away from being at his next destination. This tome referenced the group that guarded the seed as well. Ryme had tried to find any of the references mentioned in other texts. There were no hits, but there was the chance they were called something different. With the lack of knowledge, Ryme would be on his toes. Sitting in the pilot seat, the next 30 minutes would pass uneventfully as the planet came into view. Ryme would head straight to the coordinates.
The beep of his ship's GPS would go off and startle Ryme. He had expected the coordinates to have a town or some kind of building. Instead, all that was below him was the grass on the plains of whatever land he was on. He'd need to land and double-check to ensure accuracy. He'd park a half-mile away from the plains indicated on his coordinates. Then he'd start to hike in, this journey was pensive. Ryme had time to float in his thoughts as he walked. There didn't seem to be any bad gut feelings he was getting from the surrounding area.
For the next two hours, Ryme would move around every obstacle in the area. He had just lifted a large heavy rock to check underneath it, there was a portal. Where the portal connected to wasn't immediately obvious to Ryme. He would take a deep breath and go through the portal letting the rock cover their escape route. As they started to fall Ryme would fly and etch a mark into the rock in the sky. He'd follow the trajectory of the others he saw falling around the same time as him. The track where he landed didn't have any officials around it. There were 3 others not counting himself, they seemed to be all from the same family. Either that or they traveled together for a while on slave caravans. They kept to themselves, Ryme had no cuffs or collars on him. So when he saw the first person leaving the area he'd zip off to them flying. Explaining his situation the employee scanned him with some kind of technology and then told me there must have been a mix-up. That they'd get it fixed soon, and they did even replenish all the ship's supplies.
Ryme would ask the leaders who helped fix his ship about the location, and one of them would laugh. They have the original tome in a museum people think it's one of the earliest recorded stories on this planet. Going to museum he managed to get a free copy of the transcript and see if his ship could work with it. There was enough accuracy in the transcripts that the ship could start to find the next planet on his schedule.
