Quash found himself in Mount Paozu yet again, this time having a different kind of training. This one was going to be more supportive than anything else he had managed to come up with so far. See, since he was on the run he needed a way to be able to hide and plain sight. At some point, he needed to get back into the city. There were a lot of resources he was missing out on as a result of keeping himself from those places.
The first one was obvious: Food. Mount Paozu was good, but there was only so much dinosaur meat and fish he could take. Plus, he was sure he was lacking in other ways. The vegetation here was not bad, but unless it was explicitly obvious that it wasn’t poisonous, he didn’t eat it. On top of that, there wasn’t a whole lot of fruit either. Plus, sometimes he’d spend more time finding different options for food than training itself on a certain day. With these cities around, he could just go basically anywhere and just grab what he needed. Not having to contend with the other predators in the area was a huge plus too.
The second was equipment. His armor was broken from his fight with Athren and the attack on the USD. He needed some brand new gear. Not only that, but there was special equipment for training that he wasn’t missing on too. There were training mixes, gravitrons, training dummies and more. There were even healing chambers and ships that he needed, especially since his own ship broke as soon as he got here. If he was going to eventually go back to Planet Vegeta, he’d have to tackle this issue eventually.
The third, and last, reason is allies. There were a lot of other Saiyans out there, and they were likely not hanging out in random places like Mount Paozu or the desert wastelands that appeared around this planet. At the end of the day, no matter how hard he tried, he was going to have to really get into the world and meet people. He couldn’t expect every situation to be like the one in which he met Callion, where he just so happened to be wandering at the same spot some other random guy would be in. He had to be able to make a real effort, and that meant going where the people were.
A disguise is not what Quash is worried about, as it’d be easy to simply redo his hair in a different style or even hide his hair. What he was really concerned about was the other ki users present on this planet. He didn’t quite figure out how to mask his presence yet, so as it stood right now, his energy stuck out like a sore thumb. The last thing he needed was to suddenly get bombarded by the wrong person at the wrong time. Plus, he didn’t doubt that there were other users who could sense conceal their energy. If anything, it was time to level the playing field with them.
Quash sat down on the ground and powered up, his aura enveloping his body and kicking up the wind around him. His energy was out, which was good, but now he had to work on trying to hide all that power. He closed his eyes and began to focus. He figured the process was simple, he just had to do what he already did when he powered up, but backwards? Easy peasy. If everybody could do it, how hard could it be?
He began to feel it, the power began becoming more and more suppressed. Quash pictured it like smothering a raging fire. He needed to tame his ki, to quiet it. His ki was erratic, and his aura began to fluctuate up and down. Taking note of this poor aspect of his ki control, he knew that he’d have to try harder. He had to remind himself to be patient as well, knowing that he’d have to catch up on everything the Saiyan Army didn’t manage to make sure he knew. He was making up for lost time.
Quash tried again, feeling his aura beginning to fade. His own energy was beginning to feel like a caged tiger, contained but wanting to be free. He had to remain calm and focused, making sure to not lose control. If he couldn’t even do this, how was he supposed to be able to call himself a warrior? He would be nothing more than an embarrassment, and there were already too many of those within the Saiyan Military. When he got back to his home planet, he wanted to show them just how far the Saiyans could go if they simply just applied themselves.
There were many other techniques he had in mind that he wanted to learn, and for that he had to have the basics down. Suppressing his power was beginning to feel easier now, but Quash had only managed to bring it back down to around half. He had to be able to manipulate it as he pleased. He had to be able to choose if he wanted to bring it to 100 percent, to 50, to 30, to 23.5, etcetera. Not good enough was the only phrase that echoed in his mind. Quash knew he was capable of more, way more, and he would prove it now.
Quash kept practicing for a couple more hours. It was boring and tedious, sitting in a single spot all day doing nothing but playing with your own energy. Despite how boring it all was, he made himself fight through the urge to procrastinate and do something else. ANYTHING else. Eventually, he got the hang of it. He kept practicing and practicing until it began to feel like breathing. Once he was able to completely control how high or how low his energy went, he felt satisfied. Another job well done. Now, what was next?
