Just when Callion thought that the Gizard Wastelands was the hottest area in the known continent, the world in all its glory just finds a way to not only prove him wrong but also raise the difficulty bar even higher than before, and by difficulty, the real word being unbearably hot. The name of the lands being christened the Diablo Desert has more than earned its name in spades; hardly any sign of civilisation, absolute zero drops of water, and not even a cover of shade in sight for there was none to be found in this accursed hellhole of a landscape. To put one’s body to the limits, combined with a super weight clothing that he was wearing only added the sheer strain and torture to the workout routine, and that by itself came the question in his mind: Just what kind of vigorous workout was the Saiyan about to undergo in this form of training? So far, he had managed to acquire a few, valuable set of techniques that he managed to create on his own in the different parts of the world, and now with more worthy warriors appearing left and right throughout the known world, how was able to handle his own against them.
Then it hit him: Ki.
Ki Energy was the sole, defining factor in this game of combat and fighting, but not one of the conventual sense. Sure, he could create himself yet another attack based on pure energy, but that will just be another form of arsenal under his belt. No, he required a way to think about this carefully as he meditated under the full, intense radiance of the Sun. This required actual thinking, delving deep into one’s subconscious and perhaps his own soul. Feeling the meditating technique connect with mind and body, spreading across the vast emptiness of the universe, and in that moment, he saw it: His own Ki. A flickering, soft candlelight against the many, many other warriors across the world… He saw the energy of other people. Of course, such a practice of being able to ‘feel’ everyone’s energy on the planet required the painstakingly hours upon hours of meditation with his whole body having to not only handle the absurd weight of the Super Clothing, but also the unbearable heat of the radiant sun, which span well into the night, and fortunately for his case, there was not a full moon in sight, but rather a gorgeous looking crescent moon.
Callion opened his eyes, and looked into his hands; besides the heavy sweating on his clothes and on the surface rock around him. He did have a success in feeling the energy of everyone on the planet that required dubious hours in being successful, and yet it was not enough, not by a long shot. Having realising that he will need to be able to fully sense and recognise the energy of living creatures whilst he is on the move, this will require a technique that he will have to put some true effort in doing so, rather than the obvious meditation. This will have to be an advanced form of such a skill, whilst engaging in traditional combat. Deciding to devote a full 24-hour training into the technique of being able to sense the Ki of not only himself but others around him whilst he engaged in combat, Callion used himself as a punching bag, devoting effort in creating a total of 20 Ki energy balls and scattered them all across the open land, making sure that they were carefully planted and held their form without exploding or making contact with any living or non-living entity.
Once the ki energy balls were at their location, The Saiyan Monk closed his eyes and began to train tirelessly in the start of sensing Ki. One by one, with adverse speed and strong velocity Callion set forth in practicing the ability of sensing the energy of the incoming balls. It started slow and honestly painful, the strong force of the kinetic energy, followed by the painfully slow dodge of the Super Weighted Clothing, made it hard to get out of the way. There were, of course, times where the Saiyan monk was able to dodge out of harms way and deflecting the energy blasts back to their original position, but again and again he was hit by the incoming Ki, causing an explosion again and again, sending the injured Saiyan flying back from his own attacks, and he punished himself by creating more and more across the plains in the attempt to focus even harder.
Yet there was progress for the Saiyan, he could not exactly put it himself, but in the moments of preparing his body to either dodge out of the way or deflect an oncoming ki ball, there was a ‘spark’… A signal that caused his whole body to be alert, that gave him the time to ready his sluggish body and start to counteract the attacks. There was something in this training after all, but clearly there was multiple stances to grow and truly turn such a skill into such a vital skill that could save his own skin, alongside anyone that were to get hit by a surprise attack, not to mention even allowing the likes of the Saiyan to catch an unsuspecting opponent by surprise. Callion’s mind was made up; he'd keep pressing onward to truly unlock the skill to his full potential. It was there, but it required more time, and such time he was going to spend wisely in securing this skill.
Moments of sensing the ki appeared now and again, the Saiyan’s body adapting a little bit more in advance, in exchange with his body taking more and more hits, the clothes getting beaten up by the exploding attacks. They were clearly taking its toll on the body, realising that this was certainly one way of unlocking the power, but at the same time, it was really taxing on the body with the Super Weight Clothing doing its fair share of nothing making such a time easier for the Saiyan. Yet, that was the purpose of such training! The Challenge! The Thrill of getting stronger and being able to surpass his expectations, and soon enough, he’d soon show signs of improvement…
Improvement that was vital for such an important supporting technique.
