Quash was currently flying high in the skies, trying to look for a particular place to train. He had been looking for quite a while at this point and was beginning to get impatient. Normally, he would just train at Mount Paozu, but this time he had to be alone. A lot of places on Earth were either too cold or too hot for him. One might think that he’d enjoy the added challenge of trying to perform under harsh weather conditions, but for this particular session, aside from the heavy weights he was wearing, he wanted to be as comfortable as humanly possible.
He flew over a Bamboo Forest, decided to descend into it to check it out. He couldn’t sense much of anything, which was a good sign. He found what looked like a dirt path and followed it until he found a clearing nearby. Satisfied with these conditions, Quash entered the clearing and got himself settled. He took a deep breath, knowing he was going to be hating every single moment that now followed.
Today, he was prepared to do the most uncomfortable training he had ever done in his entire life. He was going to finally get rid of his tail weakness once and for all. The paralyzing pain was a great hindrance in battle, and the fact that it was always hanging out made it a very exploitable weakness. No matter how strong he may get, his tail right now served as a constant “I lose” button., and he didn’t want to worry about playing “keep away” in the middle of a skirmish. He knew that his body would have to get used to having extra stress so the pain would go away.
He looked around at the bamboo trees that surrounded him in the clearing he was in. Quash walked over to one, creating a Ki Sword in his right hand as he did so. Next, he swiftly swiped it to the side to cut down one of them. He paused for a moment, thinking may need more of them. He cut down about four more, each one falling to the ground with a loud “thud”, Quash dissipated his sword and picked the fallen bamboo trees up with both of his hands and brought them back to the center of the clearing.
He laid them bunched up together longways on the ground in front of him. He turned around so the trees were behind him and awkwardly squatted down in front of them. Quash’s tail wrapped around the tree trunks. His plan? Well, his plan was to drag these trees across the clearing in the same way someone might tie a tire to their waist and walk across the field. The tension created in his tail would surely replicate a strong pulling force, which was the main thing he was aiming for.
Quash took a deep breath, knowing that this was going to completely suck major ass. The only way forward was through. He took one step forward before feeling his body instantly freeze. A sharp, paralyzing pain shot up his entire body, causing him to completely fall forward onto his face. This… was actually really bad. His tail was still pinned under the weight of the trees. When he fell forward, it only strengthened the tension even more, creating an even worse pain. Normally, he would pull his tail free, but he couldn’t even move let alone get up.
He grunted and gritted his teeth, wishing that it would end. It was practically unbearable. The only upside was that it was at least happening now instead of in the middle of a fight. If it were, he would definitely be toast by now. Still, how was he supposed to get out of this! There was no one around to help him. He didn’t have a scouter, so he couldn’t call anyone either! He soon started to feel himself losing consciousness. Was he going to be stuck like this forever?
…Wait. What was he doing?
Had he forgotten who he was?
Quash was the Captain. He was a warrior. A Saiyan Elite! And a saiyan never surrenders against obstacles. If they can’t find a way around it, then they burst through with nothing other than sheer force of will! If they couldn’t do that, they’d either try harder or die trying! In fact, they welcomed adversity! Surpassing their limits is what they live for! He never gave up against anything in his life, and he wasn’t about to start now.
Plenty of saiyans were able to overcome this, and so would he! He refused to be a disappointment! He tightened his fist, testing to see if he could still move. It hurt like hell just to move his fingers, but he could move them. And if he could move, then he could get up. He began to try to push himself off the ground. His body screamed with every motion he performed, but there was no other alternative. He would do it! He had to! He slowly managed to get on his knees. Good, but not good enough. Quash just kept telling himself that he was almost there.
Quash eventually made it onto both of his feet, his body still feeling a dull ache. Still, he wasn’t done yet. He still had to do his actual workout. Ten laps around the clearing, dragging this stupid pile of bamboo trees he gathered. He reaffirmed his grip with his tail, and took another deep breath. It was time to get back to it. Took the first step, feeling the sharp pain once more, but this time he had braced himself. He had already felt its wrath, and now was prepared to feel it once more. He took another step, this time hearing the bamboo trees move as he moved.
Realizing he was actually capable of gaining ground, took another step. And another. And another. Soon, he was off making his way around the clearing. He was only supposed to be there for a couple hours, but before he knew it it was sunset. When he released his grip on the bamboo trees and went to pull out his tail from underneath, it was then that he realized that he no longer felt the pain. He smirked, knowing that he had just eliminated a major weakness of his. He was only going to go up from here.
