In fact, I only have one memory of her. I was supposed to get into a street brawl with her and another Earthling. She was probably the most powerful Earthling I met coming to this planet. Suddenly, I blacked out, and when I woke up, neither Anastasia or the other girl was there. I'm not sure what happened to this day...[break][break] Athren: So, as it turns out, Athren's a bit of an ass. He singlehandedly tricked another Saiyan and I into looking at the moon, turned us into Oozarus, and then next thing I remember, I was in the middle of bumbfuck nowhere, and Saiyans are now an outlaw race on Earth. Not the best day I was having, but when am I really ever having a good day? I haven't heard of or seen Athren since then. A part of me wonders what exactly was his reason to do that. It couldn't have just been just to do it or cause chaos. I feel like it was for something else, but hell if I know what it is.[break][break] Ayu: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS THING!!?? The first time I met her, she was nearly abouta get jumped by some random thugs. Then, I saved her, she did some shy, bashful shit, and now every time I look at her, my brain goes numb and I start doing shit I don't normally do! What special sorcery is she using? What scheme is she...scheming!? AND HOW THE FUCK DOES SHE HAVE ALL THAT POWER AND IS STILL SCARED TO FIGHT!? Oh, her grandfather's also kinda an ass.[break][break] Didgeridoo: *static*[break][break] Katrina: This was the other Earthling I was supposed to get into a street fight with. Strange part about her is I couldn't get a reading on her power level at all with my scouter. What the hell's up with that? Anyway, she seemed like she was strong at the time, or so I thought. I never really got the chance to fight her, since my vision blacked out that night and I woke up on the street without a single scratch on me. I'm confused, and I need a drink.[break][break] Plasma: *static*[break][break] Quash: The other Saiyan involved in the Orange City incident. I didn't get much of a read on him. At the time, he power level was weaker than mine, but considering everyone's able to lower and raise their Ki these days, I'm not sure if that was his full power. I could just be tripping, and he was just lowering his power level. Anyway, from the looks of it, he doesn't seem like a bad guy. I just hope I don't have to target him in the future. Seems nice, and I'd like to have more Saiyans to relate to on this alien planet.[break][break] Ryme: *static*[break][break] Tabu: *static*[break][break] Zero: *static*[break][break] Zerori: *static* [attr="class","dpenny"] [attr="class","dpennytext"] Freedom as a Nomad. Jorey never really felt free, as Athren had depicted in a thread with him. Athren stated that it must’ve been nice being nonexistent, since it meant, in a way, absolute freedom, yet Jorey somehow always felt shackled to something, unable to escape, always being held down. He always felt a slave to something, like he wasn’t entirely free. That something is his past.[break][break] Saiyan-hood. Jorey was happy that being a nobody provided him with a way to always be himself, and not have to live up to any expectations. He’s just a Saiyan to people. However, after the events of the USD base attack, he’ll realize being known as “just a Saiyan” to people on Earth would be a bad thing. There will be struggles with him trying to either accept and embrace his identity, regardless of what people try to do to him, or if he’ll try to hide it.[break][break] Hope is a foreign concept. Jorey needs to realize what it means to hope again, to have hope. It’s not just some priceless, pointless dream to hold on to; it’s a sign that shows resilience, determination, conviction, and the desire to always make a better outcome and future for one’s self, even if it may seem too dark and grim to get an improvement.[break][break] Ayu. There is a literal anomaly to his life. And that, is Ayu. If you read the thread Jorey is in with her, you'll see exactly how much she is literally fucking his brain. Her innocence brings out a side of Jorey that has long since been repressed and contained, and he learns how to be a little more compassionate day by day when he interacts with her. If anyone were to bring out Jorey's concept of compassion and mercy, that would most likely be Ayu. My boy is in pain...and I'm loving it. [attr="class","dpenny"] [attr="class","dpennytext"] Jorey Chapter 0 Jorey was the eldest son of two Saiyans who used to be involved in the military. He had one younger brother, and a family friend that was considered an uncle to the two growing Saiyan boys. His father was lax and taught the boys how to be proud, honorable, and hopeful. His mother was strict and taught the boys how to be smart in diplomatics and cunning in the way they interact with people. His uncle was carefree and taught the boys how to navigate the world and be sociable. All seemed well, until Jorey was ten, when his uncle was forced to kill his family because of a debt collector, trying to get him to kill Saiyans a part of the military in turn for the debt he couldn't pay. In despair of what he'd done, he killed himself after killing Jorey's family, not knowing that Jorey actually survived the encounter. For four years, Jorey tried to make sense of the situation, and for ten more years after those he still tried to do the same, but traveling through space. He'd done stuff in these fourteen years to survive that his family wouldn't be proud of, and he feels that he's at the point of no return. Murder, thievery, exploitation, genocide, slavery, you name it, Jorey probably did it for money. Despite all these things, Jorey's brain is still racked with the lessons taught to him as a child. Is it worth it to be compassionate? Is it worth it to have hope? Is it worth it to look out for the weak? The answer for a long time has been constant: no. |
