Racial Traits: Red Ribbon Support, Repairable, Endurance

Face Claim: Satoru Gojo from Jujutsu Kaisen
Appearance: Megane in life was often regarded as an attractive man. He stood at 6'3" (190 cm) and kept himself in great shape, as if he competed in athletic events or spent many days on the beach. He made sure to properly groom himself, giving him silky smooth hair that is often spiked up, though he sometimes leaves it left down depending on his mood. His physique and appearance translated into androidhood well, leaving Megane with a look almost identical to his human form. As an android, his once brown hair lost its pigment, becoming a bluish-white instead.
His most notable feature is his striking blue eyes, which seem to glow in practically any setting despite not actually emitting light themselves. He also has beautiful long eyelashes that make his eyes stand out even more. These eyes are not his originals. They are gateways into his advanced mechanical innards, revealing the true person he has become. Beneath his skin, that which was once human has been replaced by machine for the most part. Only his brain and heart are intact, and even those have been heavily modified to fit his new body. Everything else is either an artificial replica of human anatomy or entirely mechanical and unique to an android.
In terms of clothing, Megane only has one staple in all of his attires: his blindfold or black sunglasses. Both are to keep his eyes concealed, though he tends to only wear his glasses for more casual endeavors, as they are more likely to be broken or damaged than a simple blindfold. If either his glasses or blindfold is unavailable or damaged, he will wear bandages or anything else to conceal his eyes. Otherwise, Megane wears whatever suits his needs. To pick one outfit, he most commonly wears an all-black, high-necked jacket with black pants and boots.
Personality: Being an android who was reprogrammed to show no remorse and to take orders with no rebuttal, Megane is practically a machine. His best traits are his analytical mind and his wit, both of which he relies on to get him out of tight situations moreso than his physical prowess. In fact, Megane is more likely to defer on his mind than his brawn unless absolutely necessary.
His one goal is freedom. Unity of his mind and body, which have been conflicted for much longer than he's been an android, is the only thing Megane cares about. As long as nothing gets in the way of that, it is not his concern.
Compassion and sympathy are two emotions that Megane rarely feels anymore. Every now and then, parts of his humanity shine through. When people tell him about their dreams, he can't help but feel fascinated. With enough persuasion, he may even be willing to help people out, so long as he can either gain from it or it doesn't prevent him from accomplishing his own goal.
To better blend in with the commonfolk of Earth, Megane installed 'Eagle_Eye.exe', which emphasizes his upbeat and outgoing aspects of his personality whenever something is applying pressure to his eye/nose/ear area (where someone would wear glasses or a blindfold). Essentially, when he covers his eyes, Megane loses the ability to follow social norms. He becomes an extremely nonchalant and playful individual, regardless of the situation. Paired with his pre-existing cunning and wit, blindfolded Megane seems like he takes nothing seriously at all.
When it comes to fighting, Megane has a different set of protocols set up. Regardless of whether he's blindfolded or not, he tries his best to be as efficient and optimized in his actions. Sparring with him is sure to give anybody a good workout!
History: Prior to becoming an android, Megane did not live a life of luxury by any means. He aspired to be one of the wealthiest people on Earth, but his methods of doing so were less than savory. Lying, stealing, and deception was his bread and butter. Following the typical ebbs and flows of society simply did not interest the man. Instead, he used his charisma and good looks to trick people into giving him exactly what he wanted. When those didn't work, he often had other plans in mind to accomplish his goals.
Through his line of work, Megane was introduced to his eventual fiance. The two became a formidable duo, a conniving couple with riches on their mind. Their misadventures and heists eventually set their sights on the formidable Red Ribbon Army. They possessed a piece of technology that one of their clients wanted. At a price that even an honest man would have trouble turning down, the two tried to do what they did best.
Needless to say, things went sideways. The duo was caught and taken in, but instead of being turned over to authorities, they were detained by the RRA themselves. Using their bountiful resources and desire for power, Megane and his lover were subjected to various experiments. As luck would have it, Megane managed to survive. His fiance did not share the same fate.
Dr. Shoehorn, who headed Megane's project specifically, wanted to turn the thief into a weapon that not only played on his mechanical upgrades' strength but his own as a human. By keeping Megane's personality in one piece, Shoehorn hoped to create an android spy that could give them a leg up on their enemies and rivals.
Of course, something went wrong. A missed input here, a miscalculation there, an oversight somewhere. Whatever happened allowed Megane to regain his own sentience. He escaped the clutches of his captors and went back into the world, where he had to learn how to live life on his own again. Through some rough coding, Megane figured out how to create his blindfolded personality program, which definitely helped him in social interactions, but it just was not enough. The damage had definitely been done.
Being weeks, if not months, after he and his fiance went missing, Megane no longer had any work. However the doctor had manipulated his mind prevented Megane from going back to how he was. The upgraded man was more broken than ever, and he hated it. He despised it. He needed to find answers to get back to a relatively normal life. If normal was even possible again.
To start, he targeted Dr. Shoehorn. Through some convincing, Megane and Shoehorn became allies. From there, Megane joined Red Ribbon Army on his own accord, to be an official member who they could rely on. That was a lie, but he needed to get as close to the source as possible in order to get his old memories and life back. Now Megane simply collects money and resources to help Dr. Shoehorn undo the work he'd done. Nothing else matters to Megane.
Techniques:
- [ST1] Flight: Becoming an android gave Megane the ability to fly.
- [ST1] Ki Sense: With the various sensors within his body, Megane is able to detect energy that others emit.
- [C1OT1] Red: Megane generates a red orb from the palm of his hand, which he can fire at an opponent to attack them. Red is more condensed than Blue, giving it more potency if/when it connects.
- [C1] - If the attack lands with a maximum of 10% deducted, the limb it hits will be amputated! (2% bleed damage added per turn.)
- [A1OT1] Blue: Megane generates a blue orb from the palm of his hand, which he can fire at an opponent to attack them. Blue is larger than Red, making it more likely to connect than the alternative.
- [A1] - 5% additional resources to dodge, this can be in either Ki or Energy. Though one can still block as per normal.
Roleplay Sample: "Do you kids have a dream?"
Megane looked at his audience with his eyes over his black sunglasses, hoping their ability to see his eyes would somehow put them at ease. Maybe in some cass it would have, but Megane had crouched down in front of a pack of children, all three of which were sitting on bicycles. They all seemed confused by the question, as evident by the glances they shot each other and the murmuring between them. One by one, they responded with the typical answers.
"Sorry, I don't talk to strangers,"
"You're weird!"
One of the children did not dismiss Megane as a creepy stranger. Instead, as his friends turned around and rode off to wherever, he stayed an extra second and genuinely answered, "I want to be an engineer. Like my dad!" He seemed to think highly of his father, based on the excited tone in which he answered.
"Like your dad, huh?" Megane repeated with a light nod and look of interest, "He must be a pretty good engineer, then, hmm?"
The boy smiled from ear to ear and cheered, "The best!" With that, he turned and raced to catch up to his friends.
Megane took a deep breath and looked up at the apartment building in front of him, "I'll be the judge of that," He slipped his hands into his pockets and made his way into the building.
Following a quick march up a few flights of stairs and down a hallway to unit 408, Megane removed one hand from his pockets and knocked on the door with a lighthearted rhythm. He leaned forward to look through the peephole and waited for someone to come to the door. A woman's voice sounded from behind the door until she caught a glimpse of the sunglasses-wearing man in the hallway. To lighten the mood, Megane gave a friendly wave and cheerfully greeted, "Hello~!"
"Who are you?" The woman inquired.
"I'm here to see Dr. Shoehorn," Megane avoided the question and got straight to the point. He spun his finger around in a circle and asked, "Can you swap out with him for me real quick?" He waited a moment before adding, "Just real quick, promise,"
Once again, Megane waited for somebody to speak up from behind the door. Unlike when the woman came to the door, this time it seemed to take a lot longer. Still, he patiently waited for his person of interest to show up. He even greeted a neighbor as if he lived in the apartment complex himself. Finally, after a few whole minutes had passed, the door opened slightly. It did not get far, because the chain lock only allowed about an arm's width of space. Through the opened slot, a man poked his head around and asked, "Can I help you?"
Megane leaned in close to the hole, putting his face a few inches away from the man's. The man leaned back a little as the android cheered, "Dr. Shoehorn, how lovely it is to see you! Mind if I come in?" He reached up and pulled the chain lock off the wall as if it had been stuck on with tape, then he shoved the door open as if he'd just been invited in.
"Wh- my lock!"
"It's an easy fix, don't worry about it," Megane shrugged. He looked around at the apartment and commented, "Nice place ya got here," Meanwhile, Dr. Shoehorn slowly backed away from the tall man now standing in his living room. He shot a glance to his wife, who had already begun reaching for the phone to make a call, presumably to the police. Megane noticed, so to break the tension he held a hand out for a shake, "Pfft, where are my manners? Megane Mekakushi," He smiled at the woman as she slowly crept forward and shook his hand. She barely grasped his hand and was quick to pull back, but it seemed like he was making progress on building their trust, "What? Did you think I was gonna hurt you? No! I wouldn't do that to you, ma'am,"
Both people breathed sighs of relief, but there was still the elephant in the room. Well, the man, actually. His bright blue eyes slid between the man and his wife behind his shades until eventually stopping on Dr. Shoehorn. Megane took a deep breath and spoke as he reached up and removed his sunglasses. As soon as they left his face, the mood in the room seemed to shift. The smile on his face curled into a more stern scowl, and his overall demeanor darkened to something much worse than an overly outgoing visitor.
Dr. Shoehorn gulped as Megane took a step forward, slipping his glasses into his pocket as he commented, "Pleasure to finally make your acquaintance, doctor... face-to-face, that is," He examined him like he was some kind of specimen before continuing, "I'm sure you have an idea as to why I'm here,"
"This is my home, p-" He took a deep breath and held a hand forward to calm Megane down, "Please leave," His voice quivered. The hand he'd held forward shook violently as he tried his best to keep his composure.
Megane rose his gaze from the man's hand towards his face, "I haven't even done anything, yet you're terrified... why is that?" He took a few steps closer, so Dr. Shoehorn backed up just as many.
Mrs. Shoehorn tried to ask what was going on, but the doc waved her off. He responded, "I-I, you- this- it-," He continued backing up until he couldn't, as his back was against the wall.
"You reap what you sow, doctor," Megane explained, "You think you can play God... taking and creating life as you please," He stepped closer again, now towering over the man who seemed like he wanted nothing more than to curl up into a ball, "Gods tend to be omnipotent, though... and you don't strike me as particularly omnipotent, Nicholas,"
The doctor suddenly reached up with some kind of special dagger and swiped at Megane's face. The blade slashed across his left temple, but Megane managed to catch his attacker's wrist before any real damage could be done. Crimson liquid began to trickle down the face of the android, who simply maintained his stern look, "The specs, the programming, any information pertaining to my life - to Megane Mekakushi... I need all of it," Seeing that his last-ditch effort at self-defense had gone awry, Nicholas Shoehorn started to break down. Tears welled up in his eyes as he looked to his wife for help, but Megane simply leaned closer to try to eliminate the height difference, "I've been thinking about this meeting for the past few nights. It means a great deal to me that it goes my way, so, I've come up with a... proposition. A deal, if you will,"
Nicholas tried to open his mouth to speak, but no sound came out. Megane explained, "If I spare you, and your wife, and your child whom I met outside..."
"No! Not Junior!" Dr. Shoehorn finally cried out.
Megane held a finger up to the doctor's mouth to tell him to stop talking, then he continued, "In exchange for your safety, you will become my servant. Your connections with Red Ribbon Army are, in short, impressive. Not to mention, your engineering abilities are the best, so I've been told. You will be the catalyst for my return to normalcy. Upgrades, removing the firewalls, and decrypting the data that you and your people placed on me,"
With the prospect of his wife and child getting hurt, Dr. Shoehorn became more talkative, "It's not that simple. These things require resources, time, energy, research that I alone would lack,"
"Leave that to me," Megane reassured, "As much fault lays at your feet, this is the existence in which I've been subjected to... I fully intend on making things right by myself,"
"And when you're done with my services? How do I know you won't just kill me anyway?"
"Believe it or not, doctor, I am a man of my word. If our allegiance leads to the liberation and unity I seek... your dues will be paid," Megane rose back to his full height and took a step back, "It's up to you, but I won't leave until I have an answer," He slid his hands into his pockets and waited for a response.
Dr. Shoehorn tried to get his nervous breathing under control, then he looked to his wife for guidance. She had been chatting away on the phone for the entire interaction, but Megane allowed her to speak. Shoehorn responded, "You're threatening a proud employee of the Red Ribbon Army. Army. I'm sure you understand what we could do to you if given the opportunity,"
Megane nodded in admission, "True. A fair point, even... but I'm not too sure Deedas and Oxford would like that very much," Hearing the two names made the doctor's face go ghostly pale. Even his wife stopped talking as she listened to the android in surprise, "Wellington just got married not long ago. That would be one heck of a honeymoon, wouldn't it?"
The names he listed were not any random people, but rather, members of Nicholas' extended family. Megane had done his research and prepared for the worst, so if things didn't go how he'd planned, he had backup plans just in case. Dr. Shoehorn commanded his wife to call off whoever she'd been speaking to. Reluctantly, Mrs. Shoehorn hung up and slid the phone away. Megane pulled his glasses out of his pocket and nodded in silent understanding, "I've left my contact information in your mailbox. I look forward to doing business with you, Dr. Shoehorn,"
He slid the glasses onto his face and turned to leave. On his way out, the man added, "Love the decor in this place, Mrs. S. Mahogany goes so well with the greens in here, it's just... mwah," He did a chef's kiss as he walked out of the apartment and back into the hallway. Before he got too far, he turned back and stuck his head in, "I'll fix the lock some other time, 'kay? I'll bring the whole toolkit and everything, we'll fix it up real nice. Thanks," With that he whistled and nonchalantly strolled out of the building as if nothing had happened.
Outside, Megane slid his glasses to the tip of his nose so he could think straight and let out a breath of relief. He walked over to a bench and laid out on it as he collected his thoughts. This was just the beginning of a long journey for the android, especially if he wanted everything to come to fruition how he wanted. Soon enough, Dr. Shoehorn would be the least of his worries. That was a concern for another day, though.
For a while, Megane laid on the bench just aimlessly staring at the overcast sky, lost in thought. Perhaps if he was still human he would find it beautiful or serene, the peace and quiet... but a human rarely got the chance to just lay back and bask in the beauty of nothing. This was truly a-
"What do you dream of, mister?"
Megane looked in the direction of the voice that had sounded from across the park, revealing the boy from earlier had returned, and just stared blankly with one eye revealed. The stare lasted only a few seconds, but in the moment, it seemed like an eternity. For someone to pose such a complex and meaningful question to him... needless to say, he was moved.
He sighed a deep breath and turned his gaze back towards the cloudy sky, where the sun had begun to shine through. The red splatters of blood on his face and clothing glistened in the sunlight, practically highlighted by the UV rays. Then he answered honestly, "To be whole again, kid," Megane pushed his sunglasses over his eyes as a smile grew across his face, "To be whole again,"
