As the two where instructed to leave, first by Arctic and then by Liari, the boy breathed a quiet sigh. In part because the part of him that was the most influenced by Liari’s magic was insulted by the idea of being ordered around by Arctic, he was supposed to belong to Liari, not the Changeling. The other reason being that a tension that had been building in his shoulders was released, a tension born of the possibility of Arctic choosing to just blow himself and Opherla away now that they where no longer of immediate use.

But no, they where being let loose. And Arctic was talking as if he was considering recruiting them. Again, the part under Liari’s magic retched internally at the idea, but the part of him that was the scheming Demon that lay within actually considered the idea from various angles. Taking the offer later could actually be beneficial to both himself and Opherla, allowing them to keep under Arctics radar by claiming to work for his benefit while seeking to undermine the tyrant. For the moment that thinking was swayed and influenced by Liari’s magic, making the plans mostly focused around replacing Arctic with Liari.

The boy stood and walked over to his girlfriend, who was clearly far more effected by the magic then he was, seemingly almost entirely lost to rage, and softly whispered in her ear. He whispered soothing words, assuring her of his presence and trying to draw her attention to himself. If he succeeded he would lead her away by the hand, flying away from Arctic’s under-construction base, and towards the eastern forests, towards the home he grew up in.
