Callion had been punted clear of the battle after being humiliated. Even without Liari’s magic influencing him the boy felt a sense of satisfaction at seeing it happen to the self-riotous bastard. Yes, the boy was still quite bitter about the threatening to erase his Grandmother’s soul incident. While the older Saiyan had apologised for the for the act itself, he had undermined that apology by claiming the motivation behind it, to draw out Liek’s dormant Super Saiyan power had been completely justified. And yet, it hadn’t been hate or rage that drew out the power in the end. It had been his love for Opherla, the need to protect her coupled with pushing himself past his limits. But Callion wasn’t the only one getting kicked around, Zaks wasn’t much better off. After that last assault from Liari she was on the ropes until Ayu had fed her a Sensu Bean. For a moment it had seemed like the Queen was back in the fight until the green girl had used one of her plants to grab her tail and fling her away. An act that didn’t go unnoticed by Arctic who immediately gave chase, with Shiso and Gemini in toe. Liek didn’t stand still and gave chase immediately. It was a blur of activity but what stood out Liek was one act in particular, Shiso threw himself in front of the tail thrust meant to end the life of Zaks, trading his own for his Queens. Even threw the fog of Liari’s insidious magic the boy was a Fury raised. Honour and Duty where as much a normal part of his life as breathing. The sight of the General’s actions broke through the mind control just enough for Liek to stop in the air for a moment, stand at attention where he floated and raise his right hand to his in a Fury military salute, showing his respect for, and honouring the General’s actions. But as quickly as the clarity came the dark tendrils clawed back control and drew out his bloodlust, turning his attention to the surviving attendant. With a roar the boy’s power surged to new heights, all the muscles of his body suddenly bulking up. In an instant he went from moderate to lithe musculature looking like a body builder as his hair spiked even more wildly. The roiling molten lines expended further becoming wedges, with the wide end covering the entire lower part of his eyes while his eyes themselves turned entirely white. His power surged even further as he drew out the Makyo power of his demonic blood and threw that into his mastery over Orgone, a black and red flower of Orgone crystal blooming explosively beneath his feet, “FANGS OF THE FURY!!” He roared with his pupil-less eyes focused on Gemini, “RIP AND TEAR!!”With that command the flower shattered into twenty four pieces and swarmed and spiralled at blinding speeds and in nearly unreadable patterns before encircling Gemini and unleashing a flurry of beams from all directions.

Ah. Right. No one in this life plays fair. The events unfolded so quickly that Ayu could only watch, hearing her heart beating loudly in her chest. Callion wasn't here. Liek was still fighting though, Opherla took a chance to wake their enemy up and as of now, he was busy massacring Shiso, while Liari just left the scene. Zaks wasn't safe either. So, where was Ayu's place in all this mess? Trying her best not to cry?
Typical.
Ayu gritted her teeth. Her body moved quicker than she could ever suspected she'd be capable of. Two hot blasts formed in her hands that she hurled at Opherla and Liek - maybe out of frustration, maybe to keep them occupied one second longer. It wasn't time to think, but to act, so reasoning was pushed aside.
Ayu's aura exploded, sending an enormous blast - like a seed, toward their enemy. The mass of energy that burst from her body solidified in the shape of twisted, sharp twigs and roots, lianas and trees, every razor edge of it was aimed at the Changeling, at that moment occupied with whipping Shiso's body with his tail. The area where they landed was wide and seemed erratic but it didn't matter as long as it could do some damage. As the deadly jungle was growing and coiling, an ungodly amount of beautiful flowers blossomed on the plants' surface, opening, and leaving a subtly sweet scent in the air... And a cloud of thick, yellow pollen to obscure everyone's vision. Well, as much as possible it could be.
The green, bamboo-like stalk sprouted from the ground - as did many around - pushing her up in the sky in the same direction she threw Zaks a moment ago. Ayu did the same, she hid her energy. She was desperate to reach Queen, knowing well that with Artcic awoken now, the time bought with Shiso's sacrifice was running out. Blasting the air to gain more speed, she was looking frantically around, sensing her energy being hidden... Then she spotted her. Fighting against the wind and snow, using blasts to maneuver and to reach Zaks, finally, she wanted to grab her arm and pull herself closer to her. Ayu created a sphere that concealed their presence, blocking the perception of everyone around. And they have vanished, just like that.
It looked like they had indeed disappeared. As far as she knew, no one here was aware that she did not possess the ability to teleport - or that she could have one. Pray to all the gods forgotten or not, that Arctic would think they have indeed teleported out of this area.
Making the plants on Zaks's tail loosen up, Ayu held onto her elbow with one hand, using the other to maintain the Energy Barrier. The quiet bubble of energy made by her was following the previously used force she utilized to throw the Queen out of harm's way. But not for long. Now she should be able to fly as she pleased, with Ayu dangling on her arm... Still inside the energy shield.
This Barrier makes us invisible. Please, go. Hurry. she pleaded. We cannot hold him any longer.
As long as they couldn't be sensed, heard, felt, smelled or seen, they had a slim chance. It was time to leave. And quickly.

Opherla couldn't help but feel a bit sorry that the Saiyans had met their end like this. All that had to be done was to just kneel before Arctic, and they would have a chance to survive and push forward to another day. Alas, Shiso laid before Opherla and Liek dead, as Opherla had satisfied the command of her benefactor Liari. She had killed Shiso, completing the task Liari put before her to satisfaction, as Opherla nodded with affirmation at seeing Liek salute the dying Shiso, as Opherla knelt and prayed for Shiso silently, before her senses flared the minute she felt an attack coming in, as she would quickly lean her head back, as Ayu's ki blast soared past her head, hitting no target as Opherla emotionlessly looked up at the fleeing Ayu, as she scoffed at her futile attempt to end the Lycan Saiyan. Opherla was at a position where she couldn't lose now. She would one day break free of this wretched control by herself. The moment she would, she would personally end Liari herself in cold blood, no thoughts otherwise, and she might do the same to Ayu, Callion, hell, anyone who ever shoved her the wrong way. Maybe even Athren was on that list. The swirl of negative thoughts in Opherla's mind didn't help these predominantly devilish thoughts from going under, as her subconscious tried to scream at her to return to humanity, to absolutely no avail as Opherla simply decided to do the only logical thing, she would step back into a neutral zone of the battlefield, arms folded, waiting on orders from either Arctic or Liari on what to do next, as Opherla tried to quell the mental war in her mind so she could focus on what she was required to do.

This situation had been getting more and more on Arctic's nerves the more it had developed. It had seemed that the one he wanted to fight the most wasn't willing to fight him and now everybody was attempting to stop him from his goals of executing the Queen. For the Queen of the Saiyan warriors, she was surely full of disappointment. Their reputation as a warrior race was crumbling within his own thoughts. While he thought that the saiyan race had been nothing compared to his own power, he expected them to be more like the one he just defeated. Against all odds, the warrior known as Callion had stood up to Arctic's might and made his attempt to give it his best shot no matter how hopeless it seemed, yet the Queen? She refused and Arctic simply wasn't going to tolerate it, he simply wouldn't allow her to flee from him like this. She was going to die today and nobody could save her. One of his attacks had been interrupted by one of the Queens soldiers and his tail impale had landed on another. These foolish warriors were really laying down their lives for their Queen when she had refused to show her worth as a warrior. They were throwing their lives away for nothing and Arctic couldn't help but smirk as Shiso had made the attempt to actually hold onto Arctic's tail. "Oh, How desperate you must be to save your Queen. Yet, you will still fail." He stated this coldly before giving a very quick flick of his tail to remove the scum from his tail. He'd fling the warrior who grasped his tail off to the side. He wasn't playing around any longer, he was going to reach his goal and nobody was going to stand in his way. He didn't care how high the pile of bodies were piled by the end of this, he'd cut down anybody trying to get in his way. With Ayu's aura flaring up, it was more than enough to catch Arctic's attention, his eyes glancing over in her direction at the same time the plants had been sprouting from the ice underneath him. What was going on below wasn't an issue, what was an issue was the race for the Queen. One side seemly wanting to rescue her while the other simply wanted her to be killed and Arctic knew that he had to be By the time that the plants had been in a state to cause harm or to even stall him, he was already gone. Using his Sonic Warp technique he had appeared to teleport ahead of where Ayu was heading and he quickly locked his vision onto the Queen herself. He knew he was running low on energy and his endurance was fading. While Arctic had received little to no damage over the course of this little engagement, he was burning through his stamina and Ki in an attempt to end the defiance that had been brought to his encampment. While these fighters posed no threat to him or his current allies, they were starting to get very annoying. They refused to listen to his orders, they failed to acknowledge the situation they had been in and for that, they were all at risk of death. He was fully intending on killing every single one of them here and now. Due to his lack of energy, the only technique he could rely on was his Death Crash. Combining that with his natural speed, he could arrive to the Queen just as fast as the green woman and do some damage the second he arrive. "This is where you will die!" His aura flared up around his body as he launched himself down towards the Queen. Both of his arms extended forwards once more as he darted down towards the Queen with every ounce of speed he could muster. His body engulfed in a shield of energy and Ki as he raced Ayu to the Queen. If he arrived first, his attack would land and if Ayu had arrived there first, he may have to continue his fight just to kill off the Queen. It didn't take long for the conclusion of his decision to take place, as he was nearing the target Ayu had beaten him to the Queen and in an instant they had seemed to have vanished. Arctic couldn't help but raise an eyebrow out of curiosity but it was too late for him to stop his technique now. His momentum carried him through to the surface of the ice where he unexpectedly collided with the barrier that Ayu had created. It was in this moment he knew that they had still been here, they were still present in the fight. With his power being more than enough to crash through the barrier, his momentum and force had carried him through as he was aiming to collided into the Queen herself.

Post by Majin Liari on Feb 29, 2024 12:47:44 GMT -5
Liari was starting to lose her patience with this whole affair. So much talking, SO MUCH STUPID CONVERSATION! It was clear everyone had already made their choices and yet here they were. Ayu was making speeches like she was embodying her boyfriend, getting in her way over and over and over again. Where was this fire before? WHY would Ayu decide that NOW was the time to get active? Could she say "hypocrisy" any more obviously than her presence here? And what ever happened to her wild magic? Shouldn't it have begun tearing her apart from the inside like it had before whenever Ayu actually TRIED to flex her muscles?
All these thoughts and more went through Liari's head as Ayu BLASTED it... TWICE when the Majin attempted to awaken her master. OH! And once in the stomach too. Like a discarded leaf, the Majin was sent spiraling back into the snow, two gaping holes in her head where her eyes once were where she had been blasted. The Majin lay there, uncertain why... HOW Ayu was even doing this. Even IF Liari's raw might wasn't enough to kill her alone, Ayu had already made herself out to be unstable, a bomb with a hair-pin trigger. She SHOULDN'T be able to DO THIS without killing herself! Hell, her own naive pacifistic temperament should have been enough of a shackle to keep her chained her her lookout. Either Ayu had done a LOT of personal development and found a SPINE under that living-salad-she-called-a-body, or something more... radical had happened. Something so sudden and ugly, it caused a dramatic shift in what the little green woman was about:
In essence, Ayu had simply gone insane.
It was the only explanation, wasn't it? This wasn't remotely the same creature Liari had been discovered by all that time ago. There was no warmth in that heart, no sappy, soppy pain in those eyes. Even without her own, Liari could see that, No, Ayu looked like a woman possessed by a demon or something, one so self-righteous, it attempted to cast judgement over them all. One might say she was finally falling into her role as GOD OF EARTH... Liari would just say that whatever thin tendrils of rope Ayu had been clinging to had finally snapped entirely and that SOMEHOW fixed her magic problem. Maybe an internal conflict had caused that imbalance and now that she had chosen a side, things had finally settled down.
A pity.
"Oh, do shut up..." Liari groaned, sitting up. She would raise a hand up and SMACK the base of her palm into the side of her head, fresh eyes rolling out into the expanded sockets as the wounds knitted closed. Her belly would then SWELL UP like a balloon, the wound within it shrinking inside before disappearing all-together within the bulk before her form reverted to its previous proportions, healed. "I am so tired of ingrates like you trying to control ME. I am not your pet you can discipline any time you want... I am NOT going to listen to your stupid speeches and I'm not going to subject myself to YOU simply because you want me to! You aren't Callion... You aren't ANYBODY. You're just food with the audacity to bite BACK!" ...In response, Ayu bombarded the Majin with plants. Ouch. Liari was shredded to bits among the vines, thorns, leaves, grass-cuts, whatever else Ayu sent her way during her tantrum. Little bits of amorphous goop floated about the arctic mire Ayu was gradually creating... before reconstituting somewhere above it all! Liari's bits would SHOOT UP above the forest and reform back into the FULL MAJIN'S SHAPE, seemingly completely unharmed... were it not for the Majin's body-language. Slightly hunched over, her expression one of exhaustion and frustration, Liari glared down at Ayu.
This was getting stupid. Although her physiology made it so that shew as EXTREMELY difficult to kill, it didn't mean she didn't FEEL the pain of being torn apart, nor the exhaustion of piecing herself back together in a way that makes SENSE each time! Ugh... And what was she even going to do?
...Well, Arctic would, much to the Majin's surprise, make that decision for her! Looking down, it had seemed Arctic had awakened from his slumber at had called out the Majin, requesting that she take a moment to rest, to sit out the rest of this battle. ...He wanted it for himself. Liari stared at the emperor, her expression... unreadable. ...Huh...? But... why? Was... Was she a liability to him? Had she not been doing as well as he'd hoped? A flash of anger zapped through Liari's fresh and new eyes... before she huffed and crossed her arms. Liari would lower herself to what she considered to be the edge of the battlefield, watching with bemused interest as even her MINIONS kept the fight going!
She didn't understand... What was she doing wrong? THEY WERE WINNING! ...And yet... Liari's lips curled into a dissatisfied snarl as Ayu turned her attention upon her minions and Arctic, upon Zaks. With a FLICK of his tail, he had STRUCK DOWN the Queen of All Saiyans, the damage, paired with that which Liari had already done to her finally bringing down the hybrid monarch! Blast... That should have been HER doing the killing... But here she was on the sidelines, a mere spectator in the fight she had EFFECTIVELY helped instigate! Callion had fled, the irony being the only small amount of amusement the Majin could take from all this so far, leaving Liari with only the slightest flutter in her belly to soothe the bitterness brewing inside.
It was madness, so many fighters fighting for their lives, even Ayu attempting to escape under some kind of veil! ...Attempting... because Arctic was already on the move, SMASHING through her barrier and slamming at Zaks! It WAS chaos... Chaos Liari HUNGERED for!
"No... My Lord..." Liari growled under her breath, her body already starting to swell! "I don't think I will sit this one out. This is MY fight too... I want this... I NEED this! RAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Liari's body EXPLODED OUT INTO A 50-foot-tall ape-like beast, its towering form SUDDENLY BURSTING ACROSS THE BATTLEFIELD! Liari's scream caused mountains for MILES to EXPLODE into snowy, rocky dust, blasting aside EVERYTHING short of the ki-weilding warriors around her!
As Ayu hovered, potentially reeling from Arctic's sudden Death Crash, Liari would rise up behind her, fingers RAKING into the space between them.
"WHO SAID YOU COULD LEAVE!?" Liari ROARED, green crags, jagged etches in space-time slicing along where her fingers dragged. "YOU CAN JUST DIE HERE, INSTEAD!" With that last word, the crags EXPLODED into an ocean of glass-shard-sized dimensional fragments RAINING DOWN upon Ayu like a rainstorm from hell, a LIGHTNING SHOWER RAIN, persay! If not along with Ayu, everything around her would be completely riddled under this unnatural hailstorm, slicing them to ribbons, puncturing to an effective liquid, rendering the entirity of that portion of the battlefield a complete and utter mess! ...And it would simply not stop coming!
"DIE, AYU! SHUT UP AND DIE!"

Zaks felt helpless a she flew through the air and frustrated at herself. Gemini had even attempted to train her one weakness and she hadn't mastered it. Becuess of that she was helpless and forced to watch Ayu get further away. She had only been able to watch in horror as shiso Died defending her from the empoerer. It was all becuess she was stupid and weak. Stupid for ever trusting liari.
Looking up her golden eyes widened in surprise as she watched ayu raced to her and meeting her in mid air. What was she doing with her? Why didn't she run while she had the chance? The Emperor was targeting her! Not Ayu! She could have escaped. She soon caught Zaks from the air with surprising strength and pulled the Saiyan queen close to her. “” Ayu?”” Asked confused? At the smaller woman's actions. Even now she could feel both lairi and Athren closing in on them.
“” you need to go!”” She declared as life returned to her as she felt the plant release her tail giving her strength back to her. “wha?”” She barely got out before the barrier appeared around them. She could tell it wasn't The same as a regular barrier something about it screamed magic or some other trick. These thoughts were confirmed by Ayu with a mental message and what her plans were.
Of course they never got the chance to as by some miracle the emperor managed to hit them with his charge even though they had been traveling away from him. “” of course!”” She screamed as the barrier shattered and brought her left arm up to defend the both of them. She allowed the clash of there bodies and slightly tilted her body away from him. The pain was brutal but the emperor had not been in control of his speed or attack forcing him to sail past the Saiyan queen. It didn't matter that he had partially hit her as there was no resistance to his attack.
Turning back to ayu her her eyes widened in surprise at the assault she had suffered from liari. The green woman had far to tired to defend herself from it and the injuries were severe. Zaks grit her teeth and raced forward grabbing her friend and pulling her to her chest. An action she wish she had done sooner before Ayu and to endure liaris attack. “” Ayu I….ok.. “” Zaks seemed To be talking to her self for a brief moment before she fired off two blast at artics feet showering him with ice debris and freezing water.
Suddenly Zaks turned and shot off like a speeding bullet as fast as she could while she held Ayu close to her chest. “” I am so sorry Ayu… the best I can do… is make sure your sister..doesn't hurt you anymore. “” the words Were a whisper as she speed as fast as she could to her target. That Target being liari herself.!
As she flew threw the air she glowed a frantic silver aura that seemed to take a life of its own. The snow and ice melting to moment it touched and yet this silvery comment flared straight at the Majin warrior without the hint of slowing down. The scream of rage that Suddenly sounded from Zaks would be terrifying to most warriors as the sound caused the very ice below to Crack.
At the same time Zaks exploded in a giant silver light that would blind anyone looking at It and shook not just the battlefield but the entire world with its power. Deep inside the blast Zaks could only think one thought as she released everything she had and that included her life.
She had failed.
Gemini pov. —----
It was a losing battle and she knew it. After all, she could not stop artic despite hanging from him like a child. All she could was hold on and hold back her tears when Shiso gave his life for Zaks. But eventually even this mock resistance came to an end when she was hit by a blast from another. it Hurt but wasn't the end. No it was a series of smaller blasts that forced her to let go. Each one striking her as she fell to the earth below. “” no…”” She whispered to herself as yet another hit her. “"”NOOOO"” Suddenly her became even louder as she pulled her arm back for one last Attack And unleashing it. It was fired as another blast struck her chest ending her life. But not before a final Farwell had been sent straight at liaris face. The lunar wave white light brightening the world for a brief moment.

The boy’s pupilless eyes tracked the streaks of light that where Arctic and Liari as they flew off towards where Zaks and Ayu had been flying, at least as best as Liek could calculate. He quietly wondered if Arctic would realise that Liari was a loose cannon that couldn’t be trusted, not with authority and not with the potential for greater power. Even with her magic twisting his priorities the boy still could think such things, and he wondered if Arctic would realise that Liari would betray him the moment she thought she had a chance of coming out on top.
It would be in Arctic’s best interest to destroy the uncontrollable Majin before she even thought to make her move.
That said, neither Arctic nor Liari had issued any orders to either himself or Opherla. In fact, Arctic’s claim to wanting to personally kill Zaks could be considered an order to NOT interfere, which is exactly how the boy took the words.
His senses flared as the ki blast from Ayu sailed his way and the boy simple twisted his body slight and raised as arm as the blast sailed past harmlessly. He slid through the air as if he himself was a gust of wind over to Opherla, who was clearly having a harder time with the dark magic’s influence and placed a hand on her shoulder. Hopefully the touch would be enough to calm her enough to stop her from rushing off into the danger zone impulsively.

Please, kill me.
A quiet, gentle message appeared in Zaks's mind as Ayu was closing her eyes. Her eyelids were dry and the look on her face was almost apathetic and pale, devoid of any colors. She allowed herself to rest her cheek against Queen's arm. Among those frigid winds and snow and battlefield, Zaks was really warm... It was nothing but a tiny moment of closure in this hell.
The fear she felt before, twisting and turning her stomach around, the eagerness to save at least one life from this wretched place... Now it was gone. Her soul was empty - she couldn't save anyone, not even herself. The burning acid-like sensation corroding her from the inside out was numbing Ayu through and through. Maybe it was wrong to give up like that, maybe she should have struggled more to stay alive... But why? Why should she do that... For who? For what purpose exactly? There was nothing or no one that could have ever benefited from her presence. An excuse of a living being made on a whim, a powerful coward that turned out to have no strength at all.
... Look what has she led to happen.
So many people would be better off without Ayu, the realization was finally sinking in heavily, pushing her to ask for her death. The children were taken away, and she never got a chance to say goodbye to Cress and Celric... Perhaps that was for the best. They shouldn't mourn her. They should forget her. Terra and Acco stayed in the Lookout, one mindful of the dreadful situation while the other remained unaware of what was going to happen to Earth. With a bit of help, they will grow better without her feelings and memories will fade away with time... Yes, that would be better. With the last soberness of her mind, Ayu felt jealous of Athren's resolve which led him to ask for his wish. To be forgotten, to not hurt anyone anymore. She wished for that too, with a quiet prayer. What has she done? She hurt Liari, she put pressure on others, and her emotions were burdening everyone over and over again. She gave false hope to Dende that she could be a half-decent student of his... Ayu should have stayed away.
She should have never cared. She should have never loved. If that would lead to this pain, struggle, and disappointment... If she would be gone, completely, without a trace - they all would be better.
Ayu was tired of this hopelessness. Of everything and everyone around... Yet her own mind was wearing her out the most.
A second after she pleaded with Zaks to ease her suffering, the barrier broke easily like a bubble made of thin glass. The impact sent them hurling through the air and hurt Zaks so much Ayu could only stretch her arms and cling to her, wrapping her hands around her. She could feel Arctic's energy ready to strike once more. She could hear Liari's furious roar vibrating through the air.
Why did it feel like nothing mattered anymore? Not the Changeling, not the Majin, not Zaks, and especially... Not her.
No matter how much you love someone, there are times you just can't get through to them. She whispered softly to Liari's mind, only conveying the message, not listening to anything that could have been spoken back. She didn't have the focus to open the telepathic connection properly. The noises all around her, yelling, grunts of pain, gusts of winds, all blended into a background noise. Maybe... Maybe nothing of that mattered anymore and her consciousness decided to give in even before anything happened. You'll give me strength. You'll be my sister. You'll stay by my side, right? I'm not alone because I have you... Ayu didn't move when the rain of arm-thick needles pierced her back. Or perhaps, they had been stabbing her flesh for a moment now? She couldn't tell that it was hard for her to breath... She was only glad that Zaks wasn't further hurt by them, they all were only aimed at her strictly. Thin ends were digging through her muscles and bones, the wounds bleeding so much that the clothes on her back were soaked in dark rose ichor. I think I used to say that... I think.
Even her mind's voice was stumbling for words.
When it all went wrong that you have brought me nothing but tears and anguish...
Blood started to fill her mouth, dark in color drops flowing down the corners of her lips. Zaks said something. She couldn't hear her at all. Ayu's cling tightened so much, trembling because it was hard to control damaged muscles... The vines sprouted from her arms and shoulder to aid her, gently twisting and coiling around the two of them in a last, beautiful embrace. A very tight and secure one to that. It looked like an emerald cascade blooming with pure white moonflowers.
A funeral wreath for them.
... But I wanted to thank you. You were the first person that made me not so lonely anymore. You were the first person I came to genuinely love. Ayu felt that she was choking on her blood slowly, her breathing heavy. Even if that love turned out to be a curse in the end... I'm sorry about that. And thank you, Bluebell.
For so long she hasn't used that nickname and yet once she spoke it, the affection was still there.
Some things die hard.
The world around her started to melt in speed while Zaks moved, raising in the air, her silver aura gathering every bit of energy she had in her body. She could feel's Queen resolve and empathy... Even in a moment like that, Ayu was grateful but she felt so useless that she could not ease the bitterness that Zaks had. She could only imagine what pain the warrior had at this very moment. Losing so many to the cruel ambition, at least they could pass away on their own rules. At least it was cold comfort. Ayu just clung to Zaks, her wet from blood hand reaching hers and holding onto it as the silver light started to blind her. A webbing of thick vines burst from her back, wrapping around the needles and joining her with the new shield. A protective layer of hardened thorns was created around them - not to disturb them. Not scratching any flower or any bit of their skin, only the silver, blinding light was emitting from the cracks, so strongly that the sole ray could burn the eyes of those who were looking.
Maybe it was futile, but... Perhaps in her last effort, Ayu did not want anyone to see. Nor Liek, nor Opherla, not Dende on the Lookout - they could not watch this happen. She wanted to save them from the image of the very moment their bodies were going to be torn into specks of dust.
I'm going to free you from me, once and for all. Ayu said, and now... Her voice was relieved. At ease. As if an enormous burden was lifted from her shoulders.
Bury the memory of me deep Liari.
I'm not going back.
It was better like this. Even if the pained mind of hers was making Ayu believe in that, she felt that deep down, it was true. It was time to leave, to not burden anyone anymore, not in this world at least.
The energy emitting from Queen started to burn so much Ayu could feel her body crumbling away but strangely, it didn't hurt.
Thank you, Zaks.
With the remaining strength she had, she hugged her as close as she could.
The explosion shook the whole world.
I'll see you soon.

Opherla looked up to see the quick and decisive engagement between Liari, Arctic, Zaks, and Ayu, and it was rather short, as in the face of seeing the pursuers after them, Zaks and Ayu did, what Opherla believed was a very illogical conclusion. They blew themselves up. Ayu was with Zaks as Zaks unleashed all of her might into one massive explosion to drive away Arctic and Liari both, as Opherla could only be a bit saddened by this turn of events, even in her Majin state of mind. It was truly sad that they had chosen to go this route and perish for it, instead of choosing a route that allowed them to live. All they had to do was to bow to Arctic, and be given things they never could have dreamed of before. All they had to do was just be obedient, even if in the end, they might go on to backstab him later, and to the twisted mindset of Opherla, that was an incredibly sound plan, even she would do it. But alas, they chose to cling to their futile attempts of heroism, and die in a less than glorious splendor (even if subconscious Opherla was bawling her eyes out right now at Ayu's passing). Opherla was quite displeased by how much blood was shed today, but that was unimportant. She had served her master who gave her such a generous boost of strength, so that Opherla could not only live another day, but continue her one quest dominating her evil thoughts. She needed strength. No matter what needed to be done to get to that strength. She needed to be strong, she meeded POWER. Insatiable POWER!
However, she noticed in their dying moments, one of the minions of the Queen had fired a blast at her leader. This would not do at all. Sure, Opherla knew that her master could probably take the blow with ease and survive... but Opherla decided to go ahead and give her subconscious, futile self an entertainment. She would step in and defend the blue Majin. The vain hopes of the innocent and futile girl inside believed that deep down within this evil husk, Liari had some semblance of good, deep inside her, somewhere. Absolutely preposterous thinking, but of course, why not give anything a try, just once? Opherla rocketed up to intercept between Liari and the incoming blast, firing a Kamehameha that would easily swallow the attack whole. Majin Opherla didn't expect much from this... but at the least, she would get that nagging subconscious of hers to shut up a bit and allow her to see just the results of this futile labor. Perhaps it might work, perhaps it might not, that was all up to Liari in the moment.

With Liari opting to continue the fight, Arctic was rather grateful. Though he didn't think he required the assistance, she was another factor that would prevent the Queens escape and that was the most important goal here for Arctic. He had spent too long building it up, advertising it that failure wasn't going to be acceptable. He was too occupied to get caught up with Liari's own power boosting transformation but he could feel it and he was even further impressed.
Arctic's efforts were more than a success. Though it was unintentional, Arctic had clashed with the barrier and came out on top. He had broken through and revealed the warriors hiding behind it. He had even managed to clip the Queen as he so intended. After months of building himself up for the moment that he'd finally get to kill her, he wasn't going to let the moment slip away now. He wasn't going to let her escape. He had advertised it politically on Frost that he was going to remove the head of the saiyan Queen and while that might've not been the outcome, he was going to go back to Frost with the news of her death by his own hand. She was a threat to their ideals, her and her remaining saiyan's would be a thorn in his side if not dealt with appropriately and now was the best moment to try and eliminate the leader of them all.
Within a brief moment, Zaks had managed to gain a little bit of distance with the green woman and Arctic had intended to give pursuit. He flew forward only to see a defensive barrier being put around them in order to keep him out. He couldn't help but stop mid air as he chuckled to himself for initially, he thought that this was another defensive tactic in order to keep him away and to let them escape.
"I see you haven't learned, there is no escape from me."
Though Arctic paused and observed due to something interesting. The Queen herself was creating a very high output of energy, one that was very curious. The buildup of power, it had felt like the Queen was putting everything she had into a single move yet the barrier surrounding her and the green woman seemed to be rather counter productive to any offensives that could be launched towards Arctic. It was at this moment that he though maybe this wasn't an effort to escape and perhaps they were trying to do damage after all. He awaited it, his own power was more than enough to trump anything they could send his way. He was going to overpower them and if this was the way they'd die, so be it. They had both resisted him long enough and he felt that this was the moment to put this battle to bed and to claim this land as his own outpost for his faction. This was the land that he'd conquer the rest of Earth from and there would be no resistance in just a few short moments.
With a powerful explosion being released from the inner defensive bubble from the duo, Arctic watched as a large energy wave spread out from around them. It was quite powerful but yet, nothing compared to the own changelings might. He brought up his hand to help shield his eyes from the brightness being emitted as he felt the force of the blast pushing against him trying to push him back, though he refused to budge. The attack wasn't close to him and he was in no danger. If anything, he was nothing more than mildly confused by this point. By time the blast had ended, the power levels of the Queen and the green woman were no more.
It would be at this moment that Arctic slowly descended down to the surface of the Earth, his feet touching down against the snow covered ice. His posture once again became casual and calm as he crossed his arms behind his back. His tail giving off a little swing before he glared at what appeared to be the remains of the green woman.
"Oh, what a shame."
He chuckled for a moment,
"How I would've loved to cut off her head but this will suffice."
Before he gave his attention to Liari, he would acknowledge the effort of Opherla and Liek. His gaze going over to the two of them ever so briefly. While they had proven themselves capable here, they didn't quite hold the same weight that Liari did. If they were willing to work with him of course, that could change but for now they were prospects. Persons of interest. If he could keep them on his side, he very well may try.
"I'd like to say, the two of you did a fine job today. You chose the right side of this battle."
Of course he didn't understand the mind control but that hadn't been the point here. His head turned to glare up at the giant Liari. He recognized the form that it resembled and while he didn't understand why it was saiyan like, he surely understood it's power and it's value. "You continue to impress me, Liari. If I may be so bold to ask, is this the full extent of your power or is there more that you've kept hidden?"

...And like that, it was over. It was far more flashy than the Majin could ever hope to predict but, in the end, she was FINALLY victorious! Zaks, in all of her infinite wisdom... exploded, creating a wall of ki which had entrapped the green-skinned guardian between the dimensional hailstorm and itself in a wicked crushing vice of power. Her body, barely visible and half-buried among the ice, was as still as a corpse's, its energy signature fading and fading and fading until... it was gone. The Great Ape didn't even notice as Opherla had come to her rescue, intercepting and defeating an incoming enemy blast from Zaks' last surviving minion, slaying them as well in one fell swoop. She was too focused on the body of Ayu, that tattered little shape. For a moment, Liari felt a pang of sadness... guilt, even... then she realized, that this feeling was misinterpreted a moment later and was actually disappointment because you couldn't extract power from a corpse.
...Pity. At least she could make use of her grey-matter and potential. ...And speaking of disappointments, Liari's eyes then flicked over to the crater where the Saiyan Queen had detonated, her body having dissolved into an ashen statue-like object before having fizzled away upon contact with the ground. She was dead... and not in any consumable sense. For a half-second, the Majin considered consuming her ashes, perhaps figuring that there was at least SOMETHING worth absorbing in that pile of nothing... but on second thought, the taste seemed... repulsive. No, there was only one other corpse that littered this battlefield... and it was of that Gemini-creature. The massive ape's chest seemed to bulge... before compressing as it let out a massive sigh. In one hand it scooped up Ayu's broken, battered body, in the other, taking Gemini's. She held them up to her face, observing them both the way a child might when given only HALF the candy they had been promised.
...That was when Arctic spoke again, humorously lamenting that it WAS a pity, this scene, fore the monarch had denied him her head! Liari smirked, half-amused, still staring at her... prizes. Arctic would seem to notice this, first congratulating Liek and Opherla for their efforts this day, something the Majin took note of in passing. ...Yes, they had done well, keeping the pests off her back and fighting with dedication. Perhaps that was worth their freedom... Perhaps she would turn around and consume THEM out of sheer disappointment over Zaks' reckless detonation. Whatever she decided later, they at least deserved to live another day. Arctic would then turn to the Majin, now praising her for HER role in the conflict. In fact, he was curious if this was even the true extent of her power! Liari turned her head towards the Emperor, her half-amused grin widening in twisted satisfaction.
"NO." She bellowed. "...BUT THIS BODY IS NOT USED TO MY FULL POWER YET. I MUST... RELEARN HOW TO TAP INTO IT ONCE MORE." She snarled in distaste how this form had fought her, the power not yet under her full control. She would then lean her head back and open her jaws, raising the bodies of Gemini and Ayu over her mouth, holding them by the necks of their tops by two pairs of pinched fingers-and-thumbs. She would then drop them, the two dead corpses falling into the cavernous depths of the Majin's throat, Liari snapping her jaws closed behind them as they disappeared inside. Liari's long purple tongue lapped at her lips as the bodies reached her belly... and then were infused into her mind, ALL of Ayu's memories striking her at once... as well as all of Gemini's a moment later! Liari's mind expanded greatly as her wild temper... soothed, Ayu's personality, easily the more dominant in both power and influence, serving to... relax the Majin a bit... but not transform her... No, not yet.
Steam would ERUPT from the holes lining the Majin Ape's body, creating a massive cloud about her, obscuring the shape of the creature in it's depths. When it cleared, Majin Liari would step out in her more humanoid form and approach Arctic, kneeling before him the moment she drew close.
"A body isn't just a body." Liari informed him, feeling it necessary to explain absorption to the Emperor. "It's mind and knowledge are still useful, even as riddled as those were. I can make use of them and take it for myself... and, if they are still alive... well... I can grow even more powerful by taking a percentage as well." She would raise her head, should Arctic allow it, flashing him a grin. "...The woman I just consumed was the god-in-training of this planet. A guardian, you might say, and one of the most powerful creatures on this planet. I know she has an affection for Calliion, that Saiyan that had fled you, my lord. I can feel it inside." She tapped her head. "I know that Gemini, that little fly that my own minion had dealt with, was Gemini, servant to the Saiyan Empire. It is likely she knows where any surviving monkeys might be... if I search her memory thoroughly enough. You may not have been able to take the head of the Queen this day... but you may yet be able to destroy any Saiyans that had escaped your initial onslaught." Liari, should Arctic allow her, would rise to her full height, this time bowing her head in respect to the Changeling.
"I am yours to command now, as always, my Emperor." Liari schmoozed, her enhanced mind already starting to plan her inevitable... insurgence. Her face revealed none of it, not even her eyes which glistened with the kind of awe only a subject standing before a divine king might possess. "Tell me... What is our next objective?"

It was over.
Ayu’s desperate last attempt to get herself and Zaks to safety had been a failure with Arctic cracking through the green woman’s camoflaguing barrier and leaving the two exposed. The Queen had then used the remainder of her strength to generate and enormous amount of ki and turn herself into a living bomb, killing Ayu, vaporising herself and destroying a massive area of the landscape, in a last attempt to damage and spite Arctic.
Liek had been shielded, unintentionally, from the flash of the blast by the giant ape form of Liari when the attack went of. That was certainly something to keep in mind for the future. Even with the Majin’s magic influencing his mind he still intended to keep his promise of surpassing and defeating her one day. Knowing she could pull off a trick like that would definitely help the boy gauge how much more strength he needed to reach that goal.
But, now that the fighting was over, the boy sighed and released the form he was currently in, his hair returning to it’s normal mop, while retaining the red eyes and facial lines of his Demon Within state.
He flew towards the pair of Arctic and Liari, close enough and quickly enough to hear the conversation, mostly thanks to the booming of her ape form’s voice, hearing that Liari had a way to draw on even more power hidden away, that she would need to relearn…
Interesting. He wondered if he could learn such a technique.
He landed a respectful distance from the Changeling and Majin, wordlessly kneeling once more. Although Arctic had spoken to him, it had only been in the form of a possible compliment, it hadn’t been a question, and it hadn’t been a statement open to a response. The boy deciding it was wisest to remain silent in the moment.

With nearly all of his attention on his new Majin ally, Arctic would listen to Liari's answer. It was something he was very curious about after all and he was wondering if she was going to be completely honest. While Liari had a great amount of power within her, the Changeling emperor wanted to know if she was holding back or the limit to her power. After all, he might be the most powerful fighter in the universe now but he knew if he allowed it, that was something that could change quickly. He wanted information on every race and creature that would serve underneath him that had already displayed amazing potential and this was to protect his own power. If Liari could rapidly grow, she would need to be dealt with in the future while he could still handle her but for now, she was an asset to his cause and he'd play this out the way he thought was best. He wanted the strength in numbers, he wanted his forces strengthened by warriors such as her and maybe it wouldn't come to the alternative.
With Liari describing her absorption abilities and the benefits that come with it, Arctic couldn't help but think that this was going to be a very useful power to his cause. Together they had the power to defeat anybody and if she could absorb important individuals for information, he could gain a mass amount of knowledge that was hidden from the most.
"Hmm.."
His casual and calm posture remained as his hands stayed behind his back. His stance was tall and confident as he selected his words rather carefully. Of course he knew that Liari appreciated his words of kindness and his observations of his strength. While his words were true, he knew that it could fully be used to his own advantage and that was the main goal with Liari.
"It seems you are a warrior of many talents. Offering much more than just your incredible power. It seems I've made the right choice in my efforts to sway you to my side." He grinned, thinking back about his promise to Loki. Originally, he was going to demand that Liari free Loki and kill her if she had resisted but this? This was a much more logical path for the changeling emperor. He needed fighters like Liari. With her question in regards to what the next objective was, Arctic was going to continue his respect by being honest towards his new found ally.
"Now that we've eliminated the threat to my claim of this land, I need to give my soldiers time to set up an outpost. I want to be sure that they're more than capable of defending themselves against the soldiers of this planet if they launch an offensive on this location. I want to provide them with a place and time to rest to ensure they're at their fullest when I require their services." He paused for a brief moment before going on to the step after that. "From what I understand, West City is the largest and most populated city on this planet. We take that next. Let the people of this planet learn to fear me, let that fear spread throughout the planet." He knew that if fear had spread, people would be more than likely to simply fall in line once he made his appearance in the area they had lived.
He would now turn his body to the kneeling boy and his companion. The boy had remained silent yet he had taken the right course of action by taking a knee. It seemed as if he was much more intelligent than the other fighters that had come by. Two of them had lost their lives while another had been defeated. This boy and his companion had saved themselves that fate and while Arctic didn't know the truth behind it, it was still something he would acknowledge.
With his eyes on Liek, he'd speak once more. "As for the two you, you may leave. As promised, you shall leave here with your lives. I do believe you may have earned a place in my forces as something more than just a soldier. I'd very much like to discuss that with you, when this camp is complete." He would leave it at that, there wasn't much more he had to say to them at the moment. In fact, he wanted to get right back to supervising the setup of his camp and establishing his control of the area.

(Power Within: over)
"Of course, my lord." Liari agreed, Arctic having approved of her in his service. "Everyone we kill, everyone we keep intact," She emphasized that point. "...I can use to further our goals. Power, knowledge, techniques, I can take it all and put it to work in your service." The pride in Liari's voice, the way her chest swelled when she spoke of her abilities was somewhat obvious if Arctic paid close enough attention. It had been some time, if EVER, someone actually showed appreciation for her abilities. Even to those that weren't particularly sticklers about what might be considered common morality, the things the Majin were capable of were often seen as eldritch, frightening, something that really... REALLY shouldn't exist. Liari had to admit, it was isolating when someone didn't... fully appreciate the SCOPE of her talents, whether out of fear or hatred. Heck, she imagined those Saiyans and their giant monkey-forms were received more positively than Liari's own absorption. After all, when the monkeys ate someone, at least they were gone for good! When Liari ate something, they stuck around... as part of her. Somehow, ironically in her eyes, they always considered that last part as if it were some kind of abomination. She was saving them, her previous self would justify, and in a way, she wasn't wrong. It was uncertain how it worked, coming back from the dead, but some could and some couldn't. Those she ate, in the even their little souls couldn't claw their way out of hell, were preserved inside, their bodies and minds welded into her own almost like an additional battery keeping her powered up and increasing her intellect further.
Arctic, though, his first reaction was affection of all things! He LIKED what he was seeing and it filled Liari with pride. FINALLY, someone understood the value of her abilities on the practical level, at least! She could HELP him, she could do so much if she was just allowed to... And it sounded like she had his approval to do so. Liari's lips curled upwards into a wide, toothy grin, almost a child-like one. There really was no feeling quite like encouragement. She didn't NEED it... but it was like a particularly sugary sucker, your favorite flavor you haven't had in a long time: It was one of the most refreshing thing in the world to be appreciated.
Arctic would then relay his plans for the future, allowing his soldiers to rest here a spell but with his sights on West City. Liari's eye twitched. West City... she was pretty sure that's where she died for the first time, that blasted Athren... It would be a pleasure to have another go at the little city and this time... she will have brought help of her own, one she didn't need to strike an 'M' upon, one who appears to value her genuinely, one... whose power was UNSTOPPABLE.
"Oh, I think they fear you already, my Emperor." Liari mused, her smile growing more sinister. "Think of it: We let one of them go. He will spread the word, no doubt coming to the same conclusion as you: attacking the largest population center on the planet. He will spread the word, try to save people, convince them to leave while we gather our strength." Liari then shook her head, keeping her eyes locked firmly on Arctic's. "...But it won't matter. Even as fear and uncertainty spreads through the people like a disease, they will refuse to abandon their home, their stuff, their families. They will nest there and stew, waiting for you, my lord, and their would-be 'hero' will be left hopeless, unable to make a difference. He'll do your work for you." The Majin winked. Humans were contradictory that way. They were so easy to strike fear into, yet so stubborn to not run in the face of it. A meteor the size of a country might be falling on their planet and yet they will simply stand there and watch as if it were some kind of macabre entertainment program. They were so funny, sometimes.
...And that was when Arctic would turn to Liek and Opherla, thanking them for their service. He would dismiss them, allowing them to leave as promised. Liari's smile flickered somewhat at this overstep of her authority. While, of course, Arctic had the final say as to what Liari could do with her servants, they were HER servants as well. SHE should have first say on what to do with them, shouldn't she? After all, those were her 'M''s, her collars on their necks. She put in the work twisting their little mind to suit their purposes... but whatever. In the end, this was all performative, anyway. Plans were in the works, the gears were in motion. All she had to do was bide her time and wait. With a casual flick of her hand, Liari gestured for her two minions to vacate the polar region.
"Go." Liari commanded, looking to Liek and Opherla. "I will call when you are needed." ...If they left, as instructed, Liari would look to Arctic and bow once more. "Then, with your leave, my lord, I will aid your soldiers in setting up fortifications. I am... weary after this battle and need some time to recuperate before the next one. I can, at the very least, make myself useful here while my body repairs itself." Should Arctic agree, Liari would, once again, bow, before turning around and walking back towards the camp.
I'm still HUNGRY... A dark, rumbling voice reverberated through her head. STARVING...
