“I’m not very worldly.” Liek admitted, it was clear just looking at the youth that he wasn’t exactly a beacon of wisdom and life experience. He was a mere teenager walking among titans, most of whom where at least a decade older then himself, if not older. Compared the to demon he was speaking to his entire lifetime may as well have been the blink of an eye. The boy leaned over and rested his chin on one of his fists, “I can’t say I’ve put a lot of thought into a lot of things. The role of protector, for instance. I chose it mostly because my adoptive Grandmother once protected the Earth, and it only seemed natural to carry that torch.” He paused and considered more recent events, “Now though? Other then just considering it the right thing to do, my lover is fond of this world.”
The boy was sure the old demon would understand the concept of a lover, even if he himself had never held such a bond, or was even capable of such a thing. But if the old man did understand then it stood to reason he would at least understand why Liek would go out of his way to assist his lover in competing objectives they wanted to achieve.
“Old age, huh?” The boy was actually caught off guard by that point, “Yeah, I hadn’t actually considered that.” For a long while the boy was silent as he considered the point, minutes ticked by as the boy pondered the point before replying, “I have no idea how long I’ll live. I may live to one hundred, I may live for millennia, retaining my youth thanks to my Saiyan blood.” He looked the elder demon in front of him, looking the man in the eye and for a brief, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment his eyes turned crimson, red lines ran from the ends of his eyes down to his chin and his hair tinted red, and then he was back to normal, “I only knew my Grandmother for a mere twelve years, to me that was most of my lifetime. Whichever lifespan I may have those twelve will remain some of the most important I have ever lived.”
“It’s not about the faceless masses I’ll never know, and will never care about me.” Liek continued, “It’s the precious memories I’ll share with my handful of loved ones, and the world we’ll share, no matter how brief that time together may be objectively.” Perhaps it was a coincidence, perhaps it was because Kamae was tied to a power inherently linked to death and destruction, while Liek was tied to a power intrinsically linked to life. But the boy looked at a conundrum that would leave most losing hope and found the proverbial silver lining.
“Everything else? Those are just a matter of planning and having the right successor in place when the time is right.”

Kamae made a satisfied 'hmm' at the boy's words, listening intently, seeing the boy change for a brief moment. He really liked showing his stuff off, and Kamae made sure to remember he probably had a transformation that he was proud of, or felt comfortable in. If so then Kamae would need to be ready for that, and he smiled faintly. Small takes from things often painted a bigger picture if put together correctly, and Kamae was nothing if not observant.
"Perhaps, but when you meet the second coming of those you hold most dear a century out... or you see the reincarnated faces of those you knew... but they no longer possess that spark that makes them who they are, the memories and experiences... But that is for those who are burdened with long lives."
Kamae had a problem with the reincarnation system of heaven, and its determined hold over their deaths. It was a system that prevented permanent rest and only spread the chaos of despair. In the demons eyes he viewed his long life as a curse he would not wish upon his enemies.
"If you live a short life, consider yourself lucky and pray it is the case."
Kamae had witnessed the end of countless civilizations, of friends and loved ones who grew old only to die then be forgotten even by the long lasting memory of Kamae. He couldn't remember his wife or daughters face anymore from his first life. He had never met anyone as long lived as he, and as such he felt a unique sadness... He came to realize he might have a view point that expanded beyond most people's understand and that... saddened him that Kamae was probably not able to able to give Liek advise that could probably be understood by someone so young. The ancient and the newborns, the bridge between them was always so large in life span, understanding was sure to be difficult.
"Perhaps you are correct and I will leave the subject. Only something to think about, as an being who could potentially outlive anything in this universe... you could be in for a long storied history of pain and misery. Cruelty would be to watch the young walk blindly into this trap... But after gaining the ability to walk this universe for as long as I have, I have come to see it as a trap others fall into. Be weary child, your blood carries curses you could not possibly imagine."
Long life, demonic influences, potential control from sorcerers and so on. Their blood was desired by magi, their desires dark or compelling to do evil. Kamae was no fool that the boy's journey had only begun as a potentially long lived demon.
"And consider this... Changing the nature of something that has existed since time began, the demon realm and its residents who call it home. Are you willing to accept the death toll of those who rebel and the potential innocence who would die there as well? Just as you exist others do as well, others who will fight for your cause and die as well guarding that which you cannot all the time."
Kamae's smile faded as he considered the fact he was asking this to a boy. But if he was to be the proclaimed demon king, why should he not be tested at all times if he seeks to conquer one of the first kinds to exist.
"Will you send those you love to conquer demon realm? Will you march in take control and expect all to follow? Will you be able to cut a path through evil and innocent alike to commit to your war of change? A future king must know all this, you will hold the lives of your people in your hands. Forcing nature from being fire to water is no easy feat and you would destroy a natural order of things for your own vengeance can you do so? DO you possess the drive to break a people and live with it?"
Kamae asked a serious question, the weight of a hundreds of civilizations deaths weighed in his question, as countless 'kings' or conquerors rose up only to make everything worse. Could Liek rule when he was so preoccupied with "good" and "right" when he was proclaiming war was coming to his own people. Because if Liek was planning to destroy the natural order and effect the old demon in his... retirement by destroying a function that had served its purpose for eons... He might have a problem with Kamae now.

Liek pondered the man’s words about maybe one day seeing the faces of past loved ones on new people, before deciding his answer, “I honestly don’t know. I suppose that’s a Future Me problem. Figure I’ve got like eighty years to figure out a real answer anyway.” And perhaps that was the wisest answer he could give, why burden his mind with possibilities he wouldn’t be able to do anything about one way or another until it became an issue?
The boy had no comment to make about the older man hoping he would live a short life. If anyone could pass judgement on a prolonged life, who better then the one who had lived it?
“If I do end up living such a long life then that’s just another Future Me problem. We could speculate and try to plan for everything, try and come up with every scenario that may happen that could hurt me emotionally… but we won’t know until I experience some of it. I only left my childhood home in the forests a month ago, I don’t exactly have a lot of experience to draw on.” The boy conceded, “Well, at least I’ve had someone as wise as you to point out that pitfall to me, so I’ll have plenty of time to figure out how I’ll handle it.”
“I honestly don’t know, Kamae. A little over a month ago my entire world consisted of a forest valley, my only family was an old woman and my friends where all forest animals. I left that thinking the worst I’d have to deal with was petty criminals for the next few years as I trained and built myself up.” The boy sighed, “Now here I am considering overthrowing a system that’s older then the planet we’re on to spite a single woman, able to throw power around I didn’t think I’d have until I was in my twenties.”
He shrugged, “Besides, I’m in no rush. Not like I’m planning to launch an invasion tomorrow or anything. Something like that… I’d need supporters, as you say, and I’d need them prior to any attempts. I figure it would probably take me a few years to even be ready to try.” He tapped his temple, “Both in here and logistically.”
“I’m definitely not ready to break a people, as you say, as I am now.” Liek admitted, “But as I embrace this inner Darkness, I’m starting to think that, someday, I will be… and I may just enjoy it.” The boy allowed the sliver of a sadistic smirk grace his face, “After all, how many Demons can truly call themselves ‘innocent?’”
