Since his last big talk with Opherla, after he’d read the first letter from his grandmother the young hybrid named Liek had been taking time to meditate and contemplate his place in the world in a level of detail he’d never considered before. His father was long dead, the only attachment he felt to his Saiyan heritage was out of a sense of Honour, which itself was born from his upbringing which emphasised the traditional Fury ideals. He felt the need to aid them in their hour of need with their home being destroyed, or very soon would be. The boy didn’t know for sure either way, but the he had reached out to the Queen to offer his aid. His mother was a Demon Lord who had seen him as merely a tool. While she still lived she was in the nearly unreachable in the Demon Realm. All the boy felt towards her was hurt and spite, hating that she had only seen her own progeny as a means to power. The idea of finding a way to the Demon Realm and claiming the crown she sought so fervently tickled his mind, and for that reason he’d recovered the remains of his Father’s space pod and had the Gau-la-Furia’s system running subroutines to recover and repair any data that may lead to the discovery of a way to reliably cross the boundaries between dimensions. Whatever amount of time it took, he was certain it would be worth it. And then there was the matter of Earth. What attachments did he really have to the world? He’d always thought it so easy, so obvious and straight forward. Of course he would defend the Earth without hesitation! He lived there. But was it even worth it? He was hated, shunned, by most of the world for the Saiyan blood pulsing through his veins. Imagine the response if people learned he was half demon as well? The Earth hated the Saiyans it seemed. The destruction of a city, the absolute debacal that was the assassination of the Saiyan princess, the unwillingness of the Earth government to accept any responsibility. Actively developing weapons for the express purpose of harming and suppressing Saiyans, passing laws actively discriminating against them, allowing common citizens to do the same. Was the Earth as it was now really worth protecting? Was it even possible to do anything about it? The only things on Earth Liek was certain he even cared about anymore where Opherla and her family. And he hadn’t even met them yet! Before confronting his Inner Demon the boy would never have allowed these thoughts to hold a place in his mind, these dark, bitter thoughts. He would have put great effort into expelling them and locking them away, not wanting the negativity to influence his outlook. But now he was allowing himself to embrace the darkness within, allowing himself to actually consider sides to the world he’d have dismissed out of hand before. And he was starting to realise he didn’t actually feel any loyalty to the Earth. He didn’t want the masses to come to harm, that hadn’t changed. But the system dominating it? He hated it. But he had no idea what to do about it. But there was one thing clear to Liek; if he was going to protect what little he did care about he had to get far, far stronger. He had to push into limits he’d never imagined before, push his Furiemshinken beyond just what his Grandmother had taught him. That was why he was currently floating inside Opherla’s Attack Pod, itself still docked in his Gau-la-Furia, with the Gravitron cranked up to a hundred and thirty times Earth’s gravity. His body strained against the massively increased burden he was placing on it, the intricate lattice of ki circulating his body, bones and organs being the only thing between him and being paste on the floor.
The boy took controlled breaths as he envisioned the technique he was trying to create. While it was based on the technique called Broken Arm, what he was creating was something he’d specially formulated while keeping his lover’s fighting style in mind. She was very aggressive, preferring to get up close and personal with her opponents. As such the technique he’d had in mind was designed to strike from a distance, overwhelm them with sheer volume of fire and, hopefully, leave themselves vulnerable to Opherla’s follow up attack. If not defeat them outright. The boy spread his feet and legs as he grit his teeth and summoned his ki, filtering it into the air around him and using it to draw energy from the Orgone Layer. The entire area around the boy began to glow and shimmer with the emerald light of Orgone as he continued to focus. He clenched his fists and roared as his power surged, engulfing him in his green aura before condensing and crystallising into twenty four distinct shards blossoming around him like the petals of a flower. The boy’s focused on the other side of the training chamber where he’d tied a target dummy, a sack stuffed with hay with a picture of Callion’s face pinned on the head. “FURIEMSHINKEN!!”
The boy crossed his right arm over his opposite shoulder. “FURY FANG FLIGHT!!”
He swept his arm around as if giving an order and the shards responded by taking flight, zipping and darting around the gravity chamber in erratic, hard to predict movements. Once they had closed the distance the shards began firing their onslaught from every direction, constantly moving and changing their angle of fire before moving again for another shot. By the time the crystals had spent their energy and dissolved the sack target had been reduced to a pile of singed rags. The boy smiled at his handwork, proud that he had managed to pull off the attack he’d envisioned. Slowly he lowered himself to the ground and leaned over, hands on his knees as he panted for breath. Sweat dripped down his face as he looked at the remnants of Callion’s picture, which had been cut through diagonally with a satisfied smirk. It was petty, sure. But damn if it didn’t make him feel better.

Opherla arrived back again to the Gau-la-Furia, as once again, she had another technique to show Liek today. After mastering Energy Materialisation, Opherla had taken it upon herself to train herself yet again, this time attacking a technique Liek had used on her during their first Gravity session, as Opherla had taken a real liking to that attack. The Broken Arm. It was so unpredictable yet so accurate at the same time. Opherla had to take a few tries to get it down in her usual training area outside of West City.
A few hours earlier...
Opherla could be seen back in her usual training spot, having mastered Energy Materialisation here before, she was now preparing to take the next step on her journey, which was to put that work on Mastering Energy Materialisation to good use. And to do so, she would learn the technique Liek used against her in their own training quite a while ago. The Broken Arm technique. Opherla first had to repicture the moment in her mind, when Liek first used the technique against her. He had utilized the Orgone Crystals in a very interesting manner of method, firing two of them forward, then proceeding to follow them, as if they wouldn't last if he wasn't near them, and used them in a great tandem with his own physical attacks, as Opherla wondered how in the world to replicate that. ...She didn't really have an answer, other than to just try and keep trying until she got it. Resolving to do that, Opherla took a deep breath and prepared to initiate her first use of the technique, patterning out in front of her the path she wanted the Orgone Crystals to travel, before she formed two of them to start out.
"Okay, here goes nothing..." Opherla declared, as she glared forward at a target in front of her, a rock mound, as she roared and sent forward the two Orgone Crystals, as she mimicked what Liek had done, not straying too far from them, but also moving in a way that tandemed with the movement of the crystals, as she did exactly as Liek had done to her in the Gravitron using her skills, assaulting the rock using her fist, then a crystal, then another fist, crystal, and repeat, as Opherla intended to leave quite the dent in this rock mound! And leave a dent she did, as finally, after the Orgone Crystals dissolved, she looked at the work she had done, and smiled to see the rock was smoking, and had quite the few impressions of where she had hit it on its form. Opherla nodded in satisfaction, quite happy with thisnresult, and would have been ready to show Liek, but, she wanted to experiment a bit more. So, experiment she would, as she began to try many more experiments with this technique, like forming more Crystals, seeing truly how far they could go before they dissipated, and just what kinds of combinations Opherla could do with the technique. Her training proved fruitful as she tried 4 and 6 crystals, and also tried sending them 100, or even 1000 meters in front of her. Those could potentially work out, as she found out, but she would have to learn more control in order to make more crystals, and utilize more distance between her and the crystals.
But that didn't matter for right now. It was time for another progress report to her lovely boyfriend. Opherla couldn't wait to show him just how much she had improved on her use of the Furiemshinken, as she now had her first official technique to show off to Liek. And boy oh boy, was she EVER excited!
In the present time...
"Welcome, crewman Opherla."
Opherla didn't think she'd ever get tired of hearing that. Unless of course Liek would eventually decide to change her title to something a bit more than just a crewman, but Opherla was just happy to hear the computer greeting her as one of its own, every time she came to the entrance of the ship.
"Computer, where is Captain Liek at the moment?" Opherla asked.
"Captain's Location is in the hangar bay, inside your Saiyan Attack Pod. Currently, he is undergoing Gravity Training, at 130 times Earth's gravity. Shall I alert him that you're here?"
"Go ahead, but I'll be there by the time he hears it!" Opherla joyously remarked as she began to start FLYING to the hangar bay, knowing she had ground to cover, but also just out of sheer excitement! What she had wanted was coming true! Liek was using her Gravitron she left for him! He was using what she had gifted him to better himself! Opherla couldn't help but hold that smile as she rushed to her own Pod, happy to see it in such pristine condition thanks to the robot mechanics that had worked to keep it in such good shape. Opherla was just so giddy about this whole thing! She not only had something to show Liek, but she felt proud that Liek was using her Gravitron to help himself! As soon as Liek would hear the announcement of her arrival from the computer, Opherla would already be running into the Gravitron, as she held the happy expression, and would hug Liek the minute she ran inside!
"I'm so happy you're using my gift, Liek!!" Opherla exclaimed like a little girl happy to give someone a useful gift, as she hadn't even noticed the target that had been placed with Callion's face on it, as Opherla soon let go of Liek and kissed him on the lips, just incredibly happy on this fine day for the both of them, as Opherla soon looked around Liek, now seeing the target as her eyes widened. "Ehhh.... what happened in here while I was away?" Opherla asked Liek, turning to him, but still holding her smile, though now it was a curious smile.

The boy hadn’t had long to muse over his little victory before the door to the Attack Pod opened and Opherla came barrelling in, meeting his surprised expression with a full on kiss on the lips before the Mobile Base could even finish announcing her arrival. The force of suddenly being tackled by his girlfriend and nearly having his lips sucked right off his face near broke the boy’s concentration on keeping himself upright, leading to him staggering a little bit. Despite nearly ending up flattened the boy couldn’t help but be ecstatic at the presence of the girl, wholeheartedly returning her affections.
“Of course.” He replied, “I wouldn’t want it to go to waste.” The boy smiled at his girlfriend before adding, “Although, I do want to install one on the Gau-la-Furia. There’s a lot more space in that main training room.” The room he was talking about was the one she had found him freaking out in when he managed to take control of his inner demon with her help.
Looking back at the shredded target the boy smiled, “I was working on something new. A Furiemshinken move that’s all my own.” He looked proud of himself, but not in a way that could be considered cocky, “I’m hoping it will complement you when we’re fighting side by side.”
“It’s an evolution of the Broken Arm. Only instead of a handful of large crystals good for melee strikes, it’s a heap of small crystals for long range swarming fire.” Liek explained, “It should keep enemies pinned down while you close in to give them a taste of your claws.”

"Ohhh, so you evolved the Broken Arm, huh?" Opherla asked with a knowing smile. Wasn't this just a big coincidence? Opherla was working on her own Broken Arm trchnique, that just happened to be the Broken Arm technique. She decided to show Liek what she had done, as she smiled brightly and put a hand to her chin. "You know, that is awful funny you say that, because...." Opherla would say, before suddenly shooting out two crystals that danced and darted at random patterns while Opherla followed them closely, as she took the smoldering target and began to bash and batter it rapidly with the crystals and herself, alternating the attacks as Liek would see... it was the Broken Arm! Opherla had learned the Broken Arm technique! She was doing the Broken Arm, right in front of him! Granted, it was an early stage version but she was STILL learning it!
Opherla soon looked at Liek and smiled brightly, her tail swaying a bit as she looked at him and folded her arms. "Weeeeell? Whaddya think?" Opherla would tease Liek as she waited for his approval of her Broken Arm. She was excited to have finished learning a Furiemshinken technique, and she hoped that Liek would feel the same way after seeing her do that. After hearing his words, Opherla soon pondered if the young boy had begun working on anything else.
"Say, have you worked on anything else, by chance?" Opherla would ask Liek with a tilt of her head. "I can sense your power level, and it's about where I was when I unlocked a new level of power... I wonder if you can unlock a new level of power yourself?" Opherla pondered aloud as she looked at Liek with a curious expression. The last thing she wanted to do was to cause the boy to snap and fly into a demonic fury again, like what Callion did, but she had heard from reading in one of the history books from a while ago that the next step after realizing the Super Saiyan power within themselves (like False Super Saiyan), was to get so angry that the Saiyan power evolves into the legendary Super Saiyan state. Opherla wasn't there yet, at least, she didn't believe she was, but perhaps Liek was....

Funny he should say he evolved the Broken Arm? Why would she say that? Well, Liek didn’t have to wait for very long as she proceeded to begin an assault of the thrashed improvised training dummy. Two familiar hexagonal crystals formed at her command and flew along side her before breaking formation. They darted to and fro in coordination with Opherla to strike at the target dummy over and over, reducing it to even more scrap. Liek recognised that attack, of course. He’d first used it in training back during the first time he’d trained under amplified gravity, the Broken Arm.
A wide grin broke out on his face as he looked at his girlfriend in admiration. She’d only seen him using that move during that one training session and she’d already managed to replicate the technique. Honestly, he was a little jealous how easily she’d learned it, while he’d had to merely go through the motions for the years it took him to rediscover the trick to Energy Manipulation with ki. Jealous, but not bitter. Seeing the Furiemshinken find a new home in such good hands made his heart swell with joy.
“Unbelievable! You figured it out without me even pointing you in the right direction!” he cheered before laughing, “Seems to me I owe you another hour long make out session!”
“I…” Another level of power. He was fairly sure that was the Super Saiyan his Grandmother had mention Callion was trying to bring out of him during their… incident. At the time the boy hadn’t heard of anything like it before, so he had done the only things he could, he searched the internet and went to the one person he thought could give him advice. The internet had been a hit and miss affair, mostly old legends of the Saiyans talking about some legendary power said to appear once every thousands years, though some conspiracy theory websites had hundred year old images of people with golden hair flying around, along with claims of these people being Super Saiyans.
But it was all old, grainy and half-glitchy footage and photos. Like most conspiracy theories it was better to just laugh and move on.
The person he went to for advice was old Master Roshi. The boy had gone in with low expectations on what the ancient sage may know, and ended up pleasantly surprised as the old man had a plethora of knowledge. Centuries ago a student of his had been a Saiyan named Goku who had become a Super Saiyan in a burst of wild emotions after his best friend was murdered. But what caught Liek’s attention was the tale of how Goku’s son, a human-Saiyan hybrid, went Super Saiyan; while training in something called the ‘Hyperbolic Time Chamber’ on ‘Kami’s Lookout’ on top of Korin’s Tower (three things the boy took note of to investigate later) the father and son decided to push the son by placing him in a desperate, life or death situation. At that time Gohan managed his first transformation not through rage, but through resolve, determination and desperation.
Thinking back on what he’d learned he looked back at Opherla with a serious expression, “I have been thinking about that, that Super Saiyan. I spoke to Roshi about it and after hearing about his past students who reached that level… I had an idea.” He paused before taking a deep breath, “And I don’t think you’re going to like it.”
He turned to the love of his life and with the most serious tone she ever heard from him before he said, “I need you... to try and kill me.”

Opherla's mind screeched to an immediate halt, almost like scratching a record player to abruptly stop it, as she looked at Liek with a face that portrayed not only shock, but bewilderment. The comment Liek made about a make out session was completely gone at this point. Opherla looked at Liek as if he had something horrid on his face, as she tried to process... just what he had said... did... did he just ask that? Of her? Like... there was not even an explanation to it, he just straight up asked her to... to... Opherla's mind was racing trying to process how to even respond, as if it was on the fritz from being asked such an out of the ballpark question! Opherla blinked and stammered, trying to formulate words, but, she couldn't! How in the world could she even respond in this moment!? What could she say!? What WOULD she say!? Opherla could only stammer and stutter before finally gulping down her emotions at long last to finally speak.
"Sorry... ah... uhm... I'm uh... not... sure... I understand... uhm... can you give me just a second?" Opherla asked Liek as she tried to get everything under control to even comprehend what she was just asked. Now it came clear to her after taking a moment. Liek, just asked her... to kill him. He asked the love of his life, the woman he loved so dearly, TO KILL HIM! Why, how, and more importantly WHY!? Why did Liek think Opherla trying to kill him would do anything to help him get to the Super Saiyan level!? Was there something to the process of Super Saiyan that Liek knew that she didn't? Just what in the world was he asking of her? He asked the woman he loved, HER BOYFRIEND ASKED HER, HIS GIRLFRIEND! Outright, full seriousness, to KILL HIM! Opherla took some shaky breaths as she tried to collect everything so she could respond to Liek. She had to be sure, she had to be absolutely sure she wasn't going absolutely crazy!
"Liek... did... you just ask me... to kill you?" Opherla asked, as she looked at him with a tone of complete disbelief and bewilderment, as she couldn't help but still be absolutely beside herself in trying to figure out just where this came from. This was COMPLETELY out of left field, as she was scratching her head in absolute confusion and a confliction of emotions as she walked around for a moment, collecting herself STILL, as she didn't BELIEVE what she was hearing as she turned to Liek and sighed.
"...I can't do that, Liek." Opherla finally said with a solemn tone to her voice as she looked at him as she said this. "I love you... I love you too much to even... to even bring myself to harm you. Last time you had a demon controlling you and that's different. You're the man I love. And you're asking me to kill you... why do I need to KILL you!? What's the point of that!?" Opherla exclaimed as she couldn't understand it. WHY did Liek need her to try and KILL him!? That was still buzzing in her mind like a rabid bee, just WHERE did this come from!? Just WHERE did Liek get the inclination that killing him would do any good to bring out the Super Saiyan in him? Was it something that Opherla was missing? Could she just not see it? What was the whole reasoning here!? Opherla was still buzzing with emotions. Betrayal, bewilderment, confusion, a bit of heartbreak even that Liek would go to HER and ask her, his girlfriend, to KILL HIM!
"I... I'm lost here, Liek... I... I... I don't WANT to try and kill you! I don't even know how to do it! I don't even WANT to do it! WHY!?" Opherla exclaimed at Liek, absolutely in confusion and almost betrayal, not understanding any logic behind this!

“Master Roshi told me something interesting. One of his previous students was a Saiyan who reached Super Saiyan, and that student had a son.” Liek began to explain calmly, even though he knew what he was asking was the pinnacle of outrageous and something Opherla would absolutely not what to even consider under normal circumstances. But becoming a Super Saiyan for the first time was far from normal circumstances, it required extreme measures, one way or another. The boy knew there where others he could probably ask, Callion even. At this point Liek still thought Callion may actually just go ahead and kill him intentionally.
But he wanted Opherla to do it because he trusted her.
“But just getting the son angry wasn’t cutting it. So after discussing it the father threw a fully powered Super Saiyan Kamehameha at the son. And it worked, the kid found the way to transform.” Liek retold the story, “Not through anger, but through resolve, determination, and desperation, spurred by the life or death situation he was put in.”
He reached out and lightly held Opherla’s arms and said, “I want you to do it for me because I trust you with my life.” With a weak smile he added, “You’ve been out there longer then me. Seen things I’ve not. Been through things I’ve not. All I’m asking is for you to push me with an experience like that…” The trembling in his voice made it clear that he wasn’t without fear, he was terrified of failing, yet he was still willing to take this dangerous of a gamble. “Push me with something I can’t begin to imagine, but I can only guess you’ve seen… so that it never happens again!” He knew he was asking a lot of her, but he trusted her completely. Did she trust him? He wouldn’t think any less of her if she didn’t, even if it would sting a little.

Opherla sighed as she heard this from Liek. He was really serious about this and Opherla couldn't sway him away from it. She grit her teeth as she shed some tears through the fact that this was likely going to hurt Liek, but if he was adamant that she do this... then who was she to stop him.
"...If this is what you want... then I'll take you through a nightmare, that plagues me every night." Opherla declared as she began to paint the picture for Liek. "Months ago, I was in South City, wanting to try and help defeat a massive bad person who was destroying everything around. Her name was Liari, yes, the same Liari that we're fighting with to protect Earth. She was much more evil, back in those days.... I was there in South City, as it was being destroyed around me, trying to help civilians, trying to escort people away, doing all I could to help... when I finally let fear take hold of me, and I escaped with my life in the sight of all the strong powers around me. I was nothing in the midst of them... a small puppy in a horde of wolves." Opherla declared as she shed some tears remembering her weakness. "That... was the true ending to the story... but my nightmare is so much worse."
As Opherla said this, she began to charge ki in her hands, making it red to mimic the color of Liari's ki. "Everyone around me was dead... I was helpless to stop anyone from dying. And in the end, I was being stared down by the monster who killed them all. She looked at me with a wicked grin, a wicked smile on her face." Opherla declared. "Ask yourself this question, Liek, as I prepare to send this attack at you... 'Are you truly strong? Or are you just feigning strength under the weight of your fear?' That's what Liari told me in my nightmare. Before she fired her attack to kill me. Picture all of this, Liek... and tell me..." Opherla declared as she formed a Kamehameha from the red ki, before she fired it with intents to kill Liek where he stood.
"CAN YOU STAND IN THE FACE OF DEATH!?"
The words Liari used in the nightmare Opherla reiterated in her most fierce voice, as with tears in her eyes and trusting in Liek, Opherla fired the red Kamehameha, mimicking the large red beam of her nightmares. Opherla always died in her nightmares, so she closed her eyes while pouring all the power she could into the beam... she hoped and prayed Liek would be different than she was. She hoped that Liek would unlock his new power... she hoped... that Liek would survive.

The boy listened intently to what the girl had to say, absorbing every word, internalising it. As she charged her ki she told him over her nightmare before screaming out the words that had plagued her at night since she had experienced all those hardships, sending the crimson Kamehameha towards him, the wake of the beam engulfing his vision.
Gritting his teeth he threw all of his power into an Energy Cloud and thrust his arms forward to reinforce the impact point with fresh Orgone. The beam made impact and began to rapidly eat away at the Cloud, even with Liek actively re-energising it the crimson beam, a beam that could easily kill him, shredded through it easily, pushing the boy back and forcing him to brace himself harder with his legs, channelling ki through them to act as anchors through his feet. All the while the weight of his clothes and the hundred and twenty times gravity forced him to dedicate focus to even remaining standing.
In this moment his mind turned back to what Opherla had said.
She had been through so much. Objectively, if he compared it to what his grandmother went through it may have seemed like nothing, but to Opherla it was clearly massively significant and life changing. It reminded him a little of how he felt at the meeting where everyone discussed the plan to deal with Arctic, where he had been surrounded by such massively powerful people while he’d been but an insect in comparison. So small and insignificant standing among giants.
And she had had that feeling while fighting to keep people safe. His mind went back to that time, when he’d been younger and still under the care of his grandmother. His senses had allowed him feel what was happening, each of those battles and every life lost. Powerless to intervene or do anything as his grandmother held him in place. He’d wanted to help, wanted to rush from his forest home and aid as many people as he could, but he wasn’t ready, he hadn’t been strong enough yet and his grandmother too old and troubled by the wounds from his first release of his Inner Demon.
He so wanted to desperately hold Opherla to keep her close and let her cry out all the agony she must have buried deep within. He hated that such pain was hidden within his girlfriend…
And he hated the ones who put her through that…
He had no idea what Liari looked like, he’d never seen her before. Without the time or capacity to imagine up what Liari may look like his brain substituted her for the first thing it could come up with, a prime figure to play the role of heartless villain who most fit the role in Liek’s heart; Callion. In the moment it was Callion firing this crimson Kamehameha at the boy, not Liari, and definitely not his lover.
No, in this moment the location of his lover was behind him. Just as she had described she was defenceless against this overwhelming power, one that could easily kill them both without a second thought. Even as the boy felt the burning sensation of the beam across his body his mind filled his ears with the imagined sounds of her screaming in pain and for mercy.
His mind tried to reach out through the Orgone Layer, instinctively searching for Opherla to offer her comfort and prove to himself that the genuine fear of losing her in this moment was just his imagination playing tricks on him in the moment. But the connection was intercepted, something interfered. While a connection was established there was something in between, filtering what was sent and received. Opherla could feel that Liek wanted to comfort her, she could also see what the struggle had become in the boy’s mind, to the point she could see her imagined self behind him and his internal pleading for her to be ok. But Liek couldn’t receive anything from her, everything from her end was being blocked out and replaced with sensations of despair and fear further driving the boy more into a panic.
Was he going to fail? He wondered. When all the cards where on the table and it all came down to the last moment, would he choke and let most precious thing in the world to him, the one and only thing that really mattered to him die? Was he that much of a failure? Was he that useless?! He began to tear up. He was just so sick of it! Sick of being weak! Sick of being useless! Sick of people looking at him as something needing protection! If he couldn’t do something like protecting his woman did he really deserve to stand at her side?
As the beam looked to be fully engulfing the boy his power spiked as he began to bellow his lungs out. At the same time Opherla would have seen a vision of the same black dragon she saw during the confrontation with Liek’s Inner Demon appear again, this time the creature’s colossal jaws opened wide before slamming shut around Liek. The vision dragon then changed from black to gold and swirled into energy, flowing into Liek.
The beam shifted from engulfing Liek to scattering around him as his yelling grew louder and louder, golden energy erupting from all around the boy. His hair was being blown wildly by both his own energy and the crimson beam from Opherla, at first it took on a crimson tinge of it’s own before flashing a deep gold, then back to black. His eyes turned crimson as the lines from his eyes formed. He stopped yelling for a moment to inhale before positively roaring as a massive wave of golden energy surged over his body, turning his Energy Cloud gold along with his hair. The lines form his eyes BULGED near the eyes for a moment before a glowing light pulsed from his irises and down the lines, making them wider. Both his irises began to shine and shift, roiling and flowing like molten metal.
With a final roar the boy unleashed a final burst of power in the form of a counter Kamehameha which brought the struggle to an explosive end.
As the dust cleared the boy stood panting, smoke and steam rising from his body along with the new brilliant golden aura that enveloped his body. He was hurt, his face and hands showing signs of burns while his gloves where pretty much destroyed. After a moment he looked at his hands and the golden aura around him. “Did we do it…?” He wondered, his voice taking a slightly more aggressive edge thanks to the transformation, “Is this a Super Saiyan?”

Opherla watched in fear as the beam slammed into Liek, as her eyes immediately teared up upon seeing it hit his Energy Cloud. Every part of her wanted to pull back, wanted to stop, but she knew she couldn't. That went against what Liek wanted in this moment, and so Opherla had no choice but to continue pouring energy into the beam, tears streaming down her face as her mind ran rampant. What if this didn't work? What if she ended up killing the man she loved? If that happened... then Opherla knew exactly what she would do. She would kill herself, just to go with him to the afterlife. Because Opherla loved him that much that she would die with him and be with him even in death's embrace, wherever that would take them to.
As Liek was holding the beam back, Opherla's fears continued to well up and swell within her. Perhaps the cries of pain and fear he was hearing from his lover... was the pain and fear within Opherla herself, of her hurting Liek, and her being afraid he was going to die. She was shedding massive amounts of tears for Liek as she suddenly had widened eyes when she saw the Energy Cloud begin to crack and shatter, as Opherla's tears flowed even more, watching Liek falter under her attack, as her heart begged her, PLEADED her to stop! To let Liek live! To drop the beam and find another way! But in the end, Opherla could only think of what Liek might shout at her if she quit on him early. It was a damned if she did, damned if she didn't, situation... Opherla would keep her heart from stopping her, which prompted her true self to materialise next to Liek, grabbing on to him, and shouting out those cries of fear and mercy as it clung on to Liek tightly, while Opherla kept pouring more and more energy into the beam.
Then the Energy Cloud shattered, as Opherla's eyes widened more in fear, as every ounce of her body begged her, YEARNED her to stop, but Opherla continued onwards. Liek would be so upset with her, if she pulled out now, she COULDN'T pull out! She HAD to finish this, whether it meant she would see the golden success of her lover... Or if it meant she would bury him. Opherla was shedding more and more tears, audibly crying now as it couldn't be heard over the beam just yet, as Opherla's eyes shut tightly in worry and fear, daring not to open them and see Liek's corpse left where the beam had scorched him to death. Opherla was an absolute emotional mess, and yet, she kept the beam going, just as Liek wanted her to.... even if Opherla didn't want to. At all.
Suddenly, the vision of the black dragon reappeared, as Opherla's eyes widened, looking at him, as he seemed to stay for a while in her sight while Liek struggled behind him, as she looked at the vision with tear filled eyes, as she gazed upon the dragon.
"...You are the one the Inheritor trusts with his life. I can sense why, even in this moment while you appear to be attacking him." The dragon spoke to Opherla only, as her eyes stayed wide upon hearing the voice of the dragon, though they seemed to narrow a small bit. "What troubles you? Is it the fact you're attacking the Inheritor, the one you love so much? Perhaps it is doubt that he can complete his trial he has put himself through? ...Or perhaps it is worry you will be burying him once this is all over?"
Opherla said nothing, only slammed her eyes shut and sobbed, shedding more tears at the words as the dragon seemed to hum in understanding.
"It's all of them. I see." The dragon remarked as he soon moved to where Liek was. "Young girl, I want you to understand something regarding the Inheritor. He is not one to lose sight of his goals so simply. Even in this trial, do you believe he will fail? Do you believe he won't be able to achieve the next level of his growth?" The dragon asked Opherla.
"I just don't want him to die because of me..." Opherla said softly, yet the dragon heard it loud and clear as he inhaled a bit and nodded in understanding of her fears and concerns.
"I see. Perhaps... I can put your mind at ease. Observe, young one." The dragon declared as he moved over to Liek...
And proceeded to chomp down on him to swallow him whole! However, as he did so, he changed from black to gold, and suddenly swirled around and entered into Liek!
And that's when Opherla heard it, Liek's screams of power as her beam began to falter underneath the weight of the transformation, as her eyes widened, watching her beam start to rattle and shake....
Before with one more powerful scream, Opherla's beam was shattered, and she was sent off her feet, landing on the ground as she gasped, looking to see just what became of Liek, before she was greeted with something she had never expected. Right before her, in the here and now, Liek stood... standing in a golden aura, a golden light, that shone all over the Saiyan Pod... as Opherla's teary eyes looked in awe and amazement as she stood, just in reverence, of what she was seeing before her....
She witnessed the birth of a Super Saiyan. Within the man she loved, as she soon smiled brightly, and suddenly rushed at Liek, hugging him while he was in his golden glory, as she cried loudly in his arms, and clutched him tightly, holding on to him with her all as she gripped him and clutched him, yet another moment of never wanting to let him go again.
"Oh my God, Liek... Oh my God you're alive... You're okay... Don't you ever make me do that again! Don't you ever!" Opherla cried as she held Liek for a long time, kissing him and holding him close to her, before she looked at him lovingly. "You did it... you did it, Liek... you're a Super Saiyan! You've become a Super Saiyan!" Ophrrla declared with a bright smile on her face, continuing to hold Liek tightly.

The boy’s lips trembled as they curled into an uneasy smile, waves of relief and exhilaration rolled over him as he received the confirmation that he had indeed succeeded in breaking through the Super Saiyan barrier. His whole body ached, several parts of his body burned and despite feeling power beyond anything he’d felt before pulsing through his body he doubted he had enough left in the tank for any kind of serious training.
Between executing Fury Fang Flight for the first time and the strain he’d put his body under unlocking Super Saiyan he was pretty sure he was near his limits.
His smile widened as he felt Opherla’s warm embrace around him, something he returned in kind, wrapping his arms around her and squeezing her just tightly enough that she could feel. And this time she really would feel it as, for the first time when embracing, their powers where comparable to one another.
And that was a fact in itself that boggled the boy’s mind. It hadn’t been that long since the two had first met and he could still vividly remember just how wide the power gap between the two had been even then. And then he had learned the gap was even wider then that when he first saw her full werewolf form. Then the gap widened again when she unlocked the new form she was in now…
But now that gap was nearly closed!
He was just that much closer to being able to protect Opherla properly. Tiredly the boy said, “I promise, I won’t make you do that again. I never want you to have to do that again.” Gingerly reaching up, not fully trusting his control of this power just yet, he lightly stroked her hair, “This for you, this is all for you. I can finally stand as your equal! I can finally fight at your side for real!”

Opherla could only laugh and smile as she grabbed Liek with all of her might, and kissed him passionately on the lips, soon letting out to just hold Liek in her arms, as she soon saw the dragon vision again, smiling at the dragon who helped her to not give up hope on Liek, and help her to keep going despite what things may havw seemed like. She soon looked at Liek, before deciding to ask about that vision.
"Liek... while we were doing that... I saw something... a vision of a dragon, a black dragon... he assured me to keep going... Liek... do you know who that is?" Opherla asked, wanting to know the name of the dragon vision for future reference.

“A black dragon?” Liek wondered, visions of a black dragon? He blinked and remembered what he’d been seeing since first experimenting with telepathy, “A black dragon with molten looking eyes and flowing lava like flesh under the scales? I’ve been seeing him a lot too. I think I know who it is.”
“First time I saw him was when I was practising telepathy with Master Roshi. I was trying to use the Orgone Layer itself to transmit the telepathic messages when he appeared and scared the pants off both of us.” The boy explained tiredly, “When I tried again I saw him again, only this time he spoke to me… and so did a white dragon.”
He paused for a moment before saying, “Remember what I told you about Fury mythology? That there where two Dragon Gods who gifted Orgone to the Fury?”
After letting the thought hang in the air for a moment he continued, “I have no doubt in my mind that the black dragon is none other then Volda, God of Darkness.” That revelation lead to another pause as the boy considered it all, “It makes sense, looking back, that Volda would take a particular interest in me given my heritage. Darkness, death and destruction are all domains of Volda, and my demon side is drawn to those things.” He smiled before adding, “But he’s not evil, he doesn’t seek to bring harm. His domains are necessary parts of the cycle of life.”
“Remember the words I said before? ‘Do not fear the Darkness. All things in balance. Just as all things must die, so to, by the Light, does all life begin anew.’” Liek asked about the mantra-like statement he’d made after gaining control of his Demon Within. After a pause he explained, “Those are from the teachings of Volda and his twin, Basireous. Two Dragon Gods with opposing Domains working in equal balance to bring prosperity to their chosen people.”
The boy smiled, “I suppose I inherited their attention when I inherited everything else about the Fury, huh?”

Opherla was in slight surprise that Liek had described the dragon in near perfection to what Opherla had seen! Then again, she shouldn't be that surprised, right? Liek was the best expert she knew of when it came to this stuff. So it was only natural that he knew about who the dragon was in absolute fullness. Opherla could only have a very warm smile as she listened to Liek's words carefully, just happy to hear him talk to her in another history lesson once again, instead of demanding of her to kill him to unlock some new sense of power. Opherla couldn't help but be relieved hearing Liek speak the lesson so clearly to her for her to understand it all.
Light and Dark, but not good nor evil. Opherla understood these two gods as if they were gods who co-existed, and truly had humanity's best interests in mind, but also understood they had to do their jobs in order to keep the balance of all things, as Opherla understood clearly that she now understood why Volda wasn't evil, and why he gave her comfort in the midst of her attack. He wanted to ensure Liek had more destructive power to him, and Opherla thanked Volda mentally, that he appeared to help her through the entire thing.
"I see why Basirious has been following you for so long, girl." The familiar voice spoke, only Opherla and Liek BOTH would hear it, as Opherla soon saw the black dragon reappear, with something else, likely the incarnation Basirious decided to take, next to him as he spoke his words. "It's as if I look at the two of you... and see ourselves. The Inheritor, the embodiment of destruction and carnage with that lurking demon within you... and you, girl... you are almost a mirror to Basirious, in your ways and your thoughts."
"V-Volda...!?" Opherla exclaimed. "Why... why are you here again? Why are you here? And... is that Basirious next to you?" Opherla asked. "Why are you both here?"
"The times are dire, young one. The being that approaches the Earth is threatening the very balance of the natural cause of nature itself. Basirious and I have come to impart crucial knowledge to you both of this being, so you are prepared. And that knowledge is as follows..." Volda remarked, his eyes flaring as he spoke.
"In a matter of a few days, the one known as Arctic will arrive on Earth. And neither of you are strong enough to combat him yet." Volda declared with a serious expression.

The second dragon was indeed Basireous. Where Volda was obsidian scaled, Basireous was purest white. Where Volda’s eyes and flesh roiled, churned and flowed molten magma, Basireous’ where a turbulent deep blue. Although they appeared before the two now in a much more compact size the teenage boy clearly remembered how they appeared in the Orgone Layer, their great wings stretching from horizon to horizon, the bodies at a scale that was mind boggling to behold.
Liek remained silent as the warning came. He had already suspected in would be the case that they where no where near strong enough. But there was one thing he knew he was absolutely certain of: this was completely unprecedented. No Fury had ever been contacted directly by the Twin Gods, none had even heard their words clearly. He was certain this was because of his Orgone Telepathy.
It was Basireous who spoke next, “We do not presume to command either of you, or make you decide one course of action over any other.” The dragon’s voice was gentle and maternal, and although her words where directed at both it was clear the Dragon of Light was focused more on Opherla, “If you wish to further your training to defeat Arctic you must seek means to accelerate your training beyond the bounds of time.”
She glanced up, glancing out the entryway of the Attack Pod before adding, “Or, perhaps, you may choose to flee? There is valour in choosing to fight another day. There is still time to gather all you can, loved ones and strangers alike, on board this Arcship. They could be ferried to a new home. A new place to settle and bide your time until you are ready to face Arctic.”
“Accelerate our training beyond the bounds of time?” Liek muttered, “The Hyperbolic Time Chamber! I remember Roshi saying it allowed people to do days of training in just minutes, a year’s worth in a day! Is that what you mean?”
“Indeed.” Volda replied with a nod.
“Know this.” Basireous spoke up, “Which ever path you take, you will have out blessing.”
Liek nodded in understanding. Neither had been known for condoning reckless abandon or dying out of pointless pride. The boy replied, “Whatever course we take…” He rubbed Opherla’s shoulder, “We’ll take it together.”
