Kamae's journey across namek was a bleak one, the demons temperament reflecting his feelings at that moment. Things had kept going wrong, from unforeseen interruptions, and various other annoying events lead to him being stalled in almost all but the most basic of searches. This left much to be desired as he simply wanted to be done with this search. His frantic looking had only lead him to be more disinterested in the accursed things. He doubted he would ever want to search for them again after this. Searching a world for something so trivial made it almost impossible to care.
But still he searched on for this wish granting orbs. Liari wanted her seed of might, or whatever the hell she called it. Kamae could find no interest in it, or in anything for that matter. He felt deprived of sensation all of a sudden. After he had left Liari's presences, the world grew dark and bleak. Color began to fade into greys and duller greys. This left more and more bitterness in the demons eyes. His face was smiling, but the misery in his eyes spoke volumes. Kamae was dying inside.
This was not attributed to the search nor Liari herself... But rather a bleakness had settled over Kamae as he fully brought about his mind to solving a question he had not thought to ask. He knew both Liari and Artic would want to rule the galaxy, Kamae had begun to question if he wanted to rule it... Then it came the other question of why would he want to rule sentient things? Betrayal, dishonesty, greed, despair, anger and so on... So long as mortal kind existed, so too would sin... so too would another Kamae come into existence. Pain was etched into Kamae's heart as he began to witness his true nature in full force.
Kamae had become a minion of liari and relished in the feelings at the time. Years of mental suffering, physical fatigue, and as one man put it so elegantly, "life damage" was taken. Now he was beginning to peer into the philosophy of his actions, seeking acknowledgement that he was indeed on the right path. Failure had always been his constant companion for the eons, and now... now he was subject to anothers will. He had power, but what did he care for it all? He could torment the weak just fine without it... he could destroy worlds with diseases and plagues... he could undo a person by unravelling their very being and genetic codes... What GOOD was power beyond making things explode?
Money? Kamae could literally make it on the fly! Political Power? The demon had grown weary of the constant lies and bitter truths that came after. Immortality? Kamae's physical form was not immortal or important to him... It was but a means to an end... So with so many bleak answers... what was the last question? As Kamae came into the next village, his eyes half lidded in disinterest and sadness... He asked them himself.
"To what purpose do any of you live?"
Many scrambled with answers of family, friendship love and other dribble that was like watching someone drool onto the floor. All the answers they gave was as repeated as a lunatic writing upon the wall. A copy and paste of reused answers with no soul behind them. Though the demon's face was twisted into a smile, he was anything but that. To them, he looked like a smug uninterested demon... but in truth the demon's black heart wept for their simply life... He wanted that to be his... He wanted what they had and he had sacrificed everything for... He wanted to be a simple being...
Even as their bodies broke beneath his assault, as he splayed their gore across the village in a profane display... He wanted to be them, to be that simple being who didn't deserve to die. Because he wouldn't have to keep seeing it happen again and again. Joy had turned to bitter sorrow. Now as he left the village in a disturbing display, it was evident that Kamae killed out of pure hatred of the living. Monsterous and deadly, he killed anything he came across. Birds, bees, deer and namekian all suffered the same fate of brutal mangling. Kamae had broke upon going back into the world as his marked self.
Seeing May come back only made the demon even more aware of the limitless cycle they were forced to live in. An eternity of empty promises of a good death, of a simple life. Everything he killed would be reborn one day.... and it sickened him. How much more pain and misery did this universe wish to bestow? How many more times would Kamae repeat the same mistakes? Bearing down on namek in his search, before he even realized it the demon had carved a small black path of death. It would recover in time, thankfully he had not done lasting damage... But as he turned to look at the broken landscape behind him, he could sigh in defeat. He wasn't suppose to be searching this way, Liari didn't want to rule over a dead world... She really chose the wrong man for the job but he was forced to obey.
Turning on a more delicate touch, Kamae moved through the fabric of reality like a shade swimming through shadow. His search spanning far and wide across the world, purposefully avoiding settlements now that his mind was more focused. But still he could not seem to locate this accursed things. Perhaps in time, he would be done with this tedium and return to his lab. He just wanted to be left alone now, to rest and recover... But that was never going to happen, he was not allowed to rest, not after all he had done. He knew deep down the only way this ended was him in a gutter with no one to mourn his passing at all.
