“So what if my views are flawed?” Liek grumbled, he never claimed to be a philosophical powerhouse. He was just a teenager taking his first independent steps in the world. He was probably wrong about a lot things. But that didn’t change the most important part to him, “At least when I fail to save people I won’t be lying to them when I say it was because I wasn’t good enough. At least I wont be lying because I left people to die to make the next fight easier.”
“And if someone made a threat like that I’d pick a third option. I’d do everything in my power to stop them, or failing that slow them down until someone stronger could arrive to help!” The teen looked down in frustration knowing that the bio-android would probably have some kind of counterpoint. It was abundantly clear that larger creature was far better at logical arguments then he was, which frustrated the boy to no end.
Though, in the defence of both parties it is entirely possible that the greatest philosophers who ever lived could debate endlessly on this exact topic and never reach a conclusion on which held the greater merits. Even Liek, as stubborn as he was being, recognised the reality that people would inevitably be killed the next time a threat, inevitably, attacked.
But that didn’t mean he has to like it.
And that’s exactly what motivated him to reject ABAS’ position so passionately. It wasn’t right, it wasn’t fair. No one had the right to take away the life of another. So long as no one was interfering in the freedom of anyone else Liek was all too happy to let people live as they wished, even if others would call those lifestyles immoral. But if someone tried to ruin people’s lives or kill them, then it was only the right thing to do to intervene and stop them.
On top of that every life was precious. Every single one. And it has his freedom to choose to protect them.
Shame he couldn’t find the words to speak these ideals…
At Opherla’s suggestion that he direct his attention to training the boy simple nodded and sighed, “All right.” The whole ordeal, short as it was, was actually pretty emotionally draining for him. After a moment he then added, “I don’t think sparring over the city would be a good idea. Is there anywhere nearby that would be better?”

"You are right of course Ms. Opherla. I apologize for my outburst: I truly only meant to help and it seems I got a bit carried away. Please, interrupt me in the future if I get carried away again. It is much more important for us to hone our strength and powers for the trials ahead." ABAS said, bowing his head once more. He tried his best to sound appropriately contrite: it was obvious both of them did not wish to continue this conversation, and forcing the issue was more likely to alienate him from two possible training partners rather than do anything productive. It was annoying to be cut off in mid-rant, but annoyance was preferable over ki wastage. He turned to Liek then, extending a spindly hand to shake. "Please, accept my apologies for how harsh my words were Mr. Liek. I only meant to prepare you for the wider world. I will consider the worth of your words at a later date." He said, clicking his beak in an approximation of a low chuckle. "As for a specific training field, well, that would be a question for you two. I don't think I am permitted to bring you to the training facilities I know of nearby. Their locations are classified and I don't think anyone is particularly in the mood for paperwork right now. Should we adjorn to that training field you mentioned Ms. Opherla? That would probably be for the best."While such a sparring session would have perhaps been more fruitful in a Blacksite training room, ABAS had no intention of letting either of these heroes see where he really came from. If they thought him harsh, the Blacksite itself would probably send them into fits of anger. If they didn't try to destroy it first of course. And while that would be darkly amusing, he was more interested in testing the pair on the battlefield..... "I fully agree, ABAS." Opherla nodded in regards to his comment about them moving to the training field to get started with their group training that all three of them severely needed at this moment. Opherla could tell that Liek especially needed it, and that ABAS was nowhere close to strong enough to take on heavy hitters like Liari or anyone who might have been a heavier hitter than her. So the fact there was an opportunity for all three to train was a welcome one, however, it was at this moment that Opherla noticed a streak across the air, as her eyes narrowed.
"Huh...? What was that...?" Opherla asked as she watched the streak head to the Tangled Forest, where an event that happened later that day was to take place, as she looked at ABAS and Liek. "Hey, listen, we may need to postpone group training for today, I need to go check that out. Tell you what, on a day we can all get together, we'll train just as I promised today!" Opherla swore to the duo before she headed off after the streak of light in the sky to see what it was.
If it was a threat that was coming to Earth, Opherla needed to be there on rapid response to deal with it. Otherwise, things could get very ugly going forward, and that was not something Opherla needed for Earth at this point and time. Sure, it was postponing a great chance for her and the other two to get stronger today, but Opherla knew that one day, they would meet up again and start training as one unified group once more.
Oh poor Opherla, if only she knew the mistakes she was about to make... and how it would impact her on the journey ahead. But fear not, young wolf, your future is still bright in your darkest of dark hours! With conviction, Opherla rushed off after the light, ready to defend her planet at all costs.

To say the beginning of Liek’s working relationship with ABAS was getting off to a rocky start would definitely be an accurate way of describing things. While it seemed the views of Opherla and ABAS mostly aligned, with Opherla having a more middle ground approach between the two, Liek and ABAS where on opposite ends of the Optimism versus Pragmatism scale. That, at least, was the impression that the youth got of the entire conversation.
Still, even with the conversation over the boy couldn’t help but pout at ABAS. While he wasn’t against ending the debate there and then it didn’t mean had to like it one bit! Even so, that didn’t mean he couldn’t let things go. He wasn’t fixated on Pride like a full-blooded Saiyan would be, nor so much he couldn’t speak the words that came from his mouth, “I’m sorry too, ABAS. I shouldn’t have gotten so worked up.” Surprisingly his tone was humble as, despite his passion, he thought the bio-android was older then himself and was thus inclined towards offering a little respect for his perceived greater experience.
The boy also noticed the streak falling from the sky. While ABAS elected to take his leave the wolf-girl chose to fly in the direction the falling star had been headed. Noticing that he could sense life coming from the star the boy considered his possible actions. Following ABAS seemed like a bad idea, something told the boy it was best to leave the armoured warrior be for the time being. There was the option of just staying and exploring the city like he’d originally planned. On the other hand following the girl with the pretty eyes sounded like a great idea! Not only would he get to see more of her, but he may just get to be involved in keeping the planet safe sooner then he expected, which was an exciting prospect.
With excitement bouncing around inside him like electricity the boy made his decision and flew off in the direction Opherla had been headed.
