With the search for the Dragon Ball carrying on, the soldiers had started to get worn down and tired. They had been searching for days with little breaks, short sleeps and their moral was far beyond the lowest levels. It was something that they hadn't been used too. They weren't often worked this hard, this steadily and they were starting to feel it. While the shifts were long and they had been swapped out regularly, they had still been brought to the point of exhaustion. They had been digging at the same spot for weeks and the Radar hadn't changed, the Dragon Ball was here somewhere, it was so damn close and all the soldiers knew it but none of them could locate it. None of them were lucky enough to shift the dirt from the Dragon Ball and pull it from it's spot and Arctic was more than frustrated. They had all hoped that today would be the day it was going to happen.
The landscape was heavily excavated, the holes were deep and far and it was looking more like a mine now than anything else. The efforts into the planet was very deep and extreme but it was all worth it. The planet was going to die after this search so Arctic didn't care what state it would be left in by the time he got his wish. Arctic would once again be observing from the sky, though his attention would go to one specific area.
"Nameki--- UMPH!"
With a loud call from one of the workers, Arctic glanced over to watch a group of soldiers quickly getting kicked unconscious by a small group of Namekians and very quickly, one of the Namekian's would've stretched out his arm and direct it towards a very specific spot. It was evident that the Namekian knew that the Dragon ball was there. Clearly, they had been the ones to hide it. Pulling it out of the Dirt the group of Namekian's blasted off in efforts to make their escape with their legendary Dragon Ball.
Without a second thought Arctic would blast off after them. He didn't want them to get away, he needed to stop them here and now. He knew they had the Dragon Ball and he needed to stop them. This very well could've been it. This could've been the moment he was waiting for, all he had to do was stop them. As he started to gain on them the group of five Namekian's would've split up and each went their own way. Arctic quickly stopped and brought up both his hands and extended his pointer finger on each. He'd take aim on two Namekian's that had been attempting to split up and fire his death beam upon them.
With his perfect accuracy, he managed to blast the Namekian's out of the sky and by time he brought his aim to two of the others, they had already been too far out of range. "These Namekian's are going to pay." Arctic mumbled to himself as he found himself in a rage. How DARE they try and stall his progress when he had gotten so close to everything he wanted. He was truly right there, the Dragon Ball had almost been brought to the surface and they stole it right out from under him.
With the three Namekian's escaping, Arctic knew the only thing he could do now was to go inspect the corpses of those that he downed.
He could only hope that one of them would've been holding the Dragon Ball that he was after. Flying over to one of the corpses Arctic would inspect it and of course, it hadn't been carrying the Dragon Ball. This would leave him with one more corpse to examine. Though, he knew that his chances were low on the next Namekian. Whether or not his chances were low, he couldn't help but hope that it was carrying the last of the Dragon Balls.
Arctic would take a deep breath and make his way over. He had hoped that it would have it, that everything he ever wanted was about to come to pass. He made his way over, rather calmly and slow. The anticipation was killing him, the hope and the dread conflicting as part of him hoped it would be there while the other part knew that it wasn't. This was just his luck, being so damn close to it and losing it right out from under him.
