While Arctic had come to Namek for one purpose and was relentlessly working towards that goal, he was also taking time to relax and enjoy his time here. Arctic had put a vast amount of time towards his plan throughout the last few months and it was all coming around, it was paying off. He wasn't just gaining numbers of soldiers and supporters but he was also gaining knowledge he never knew he'd have access too. The tree of might, the Dragon Balls. All of it was coming full circle and he was truly beginning to acknowledge and accept the rewards. He was tapping into resources he never knew that he'd ever have access too and it was making this entire plan much easier on him. He knew that with the resources, most of his plans wouldn't be as difficult as initially planned for.
Even now, while he had found himself in his ship he had soldiers out scouting and following the leads provided by the Dragon Radar. Whether or not they'd be successful wasn't something that Arctic was worried about. The fact that he had people out there looking while he didn't had increased the chance of this being faster. Though he was eagerly chasing the Dragon Balls he knew that it would take some time regardless of his resources but he was hoping that he'd have them soon. Though as he was in his ship and sitting on top of his throne, he couldn't help but think of the future that he was chasing and how perfect it was going to be. He would take the reins of the universe and be in full control of it. There would be nobody to rival his powers and he would be in full control. It was going to be a perfect universe, designed for him.
Meanwhile, all while he was enjoying his moments of peace he had a crew with a Dragon Radar running around the planet doing their best to seek out a Dragon Ball. Of course they were fueled by reward and lacked the knowledge to what a Dragon Ball really was but they were doing their absolute best. While they didn't have Arctic's power or the same effective measures of getting what they desired, their numbers had made up for it and they were more than capable of intimidating the Namekian's and getting their way. It may have been a slight bit more difficult but it was enough to get the job done. This crew of soldiers had been out for roughly half of the day now, flying around searching and following the lead of the Radar.
In an area to the southern end of Namek they had discovered a signal coming from a rocky area. There really hadn't been much around but at first glance the soldiers had assumed it was buried somewhere in the area. They had decided to spread out throughout the area and begin excavating the area in order to search for the Dragon Ball and it didn't take long before they came across a box that had been buried. Whether or not the Dragon Ball was inside was unknown to them but the evidence may have suggested that it was here. Given they had been more eager to get the reward and their IQ was rather lacking, the soldiers would immediately take the box and fly it back to where Arctic had kept his ship. Rushing towards their future Emperor, they entered his throne room and prepared to deliver what they had thought was the good news. Though whether or not it would be was still up for debate.
"Lord Arctic! We believe we found a Dragon Ball!"
The exclaimed as they formed up in a single line. The one holding the box now taking point in the conversation. Little did they know, if they had failed one of these men were going to lose their lives and it was going to be the confident individual who had decided to speak up and address the situation.
While Arctic was in his throne he couldn't help but slightly perk up. These soldiers had been the first to come back with something that was believed to be positive results and Arctic was actually rather pleased initial. Though whether or not this box had contained a Dragon Ball would be another story. It was at this point that Arctic would simply rise from his seat and walk over to the crew and the box. While pleased, his tone was still rather a questionable one as he didn't quite believe it. He wanted to see it first, for himself in order to confirm the validity of the situation.
"You best hope that you're right, for your own sake."
It was at this point that the soldiers had gotten a very nervous look on their faces. They didn't open the box nor confirmed, they had simply just assumed. Their wages hadn't been the greatest and they were rather weak soldiers so at the end of the day, their dedication to their job was rather lacking. Even if they knew Arctic's brutality, they weren't fully invested in the cause. While they say the benefits to Arctic as a leader, the pay didn't motivate them to be their best and that was a gamble that they were unknowingly about to take.
It was at this point that Arctic would flip open the lid of the box. It was going to give him all the answers he needed in order to make his decision as to whether these soldiers would be rewarded with zeni or punished with death. He had hoped it would be a Dragon Ball as he didn't wish to be disappointed but he wasn't counting on it. He knew his soldiers, he knew the weakness within them and knew that not all of them were dedicated. Though he was aware of their weaknesses, he had to admit they had their uses.
