"The Calling Of A Lifetime"
The location was earth.
The time was about 12:47AM.
Gemikai has started to make big moves in the USD organization as far as making a name for himself. The confidence, power, and commitment has been showing off lately. These last few weeks have completely taken off in the best way possible. The living quarters were still not where the hybrid wanted to live - but the man was saving money. Gemikai at this time wasn't home however, the location was more mission based. A few days ago Gemikai was appointed a rookie trainer. It was - described by Gemikai - a weak ass party to try to convince Gemikai to teach a lot of the "gun only" crowds how to do some of the things he accidently showed he was capable of. Sometimes Gemikai just wanted to be around strong fighters instead of watching weak folks scam training. Asking to teach nobly is one thing; however, trying to subtle force his knowledge and skills felt rude. Renso had been telling Gemikai leadership was helpful in a man's growth. Whatever that meant. The weather was hot around this time of year and time. So today Gemikai was rocking some green cargo shorts. The shirt was also of a shirt sleeve variety muscle shirt with the same color. Usually the man is always nicely dressed, and Gemikai was outside today. Gemikai was sent farther out away from his usual training and living quarters. An official order to assist a different section of rookies in their training. The arrival was just as expected - the rookies were full of guns, technology, and arrogance. The training courtyard was full of dozens of want to be agents. A small few could fly - a better portion had decent martial arts training - but most of them chose weaponry. The superior in rank types started to introduce Gemikai the praise made the other agents suck teeth. Renso felt like this base was close to something interesting. A faint feeling that can't be described at the time - so it was shared but told proceed as planned.
Gemikai was curious but didn't push his teacher on it - the focus was helping the agents train. A tour was given to show the exchange agent what kind of training equipment everyone was dealing with. Once all that was done, everyone headed back out to the courtyard to train. The training mechanisms outside were spread out, and on the side of all of it - like a football game - investors, corporate types, and other important money people were watching like some damn amusement. Gemikai noticed this information almost the moment he got outside. Lame. Maybe it was in the email? Still. The thought of being watched like an entertainment play thing. Gemikai was on the sidelines letting the new types show the senior rookies their moves. The gun ranges, workout stations, spar stations, armory, and more - everyone was spread out trying to impress the viewers. It's been about an hour and half in this outside helping session. Gemikai wasn't exactly working out himself - the entire time he was moving around the field assisting other people. Humans were intelligent - but not as durable. Gemikai pretended he didn't know how to teach flight everytime he was asked. Reason being: He wasn't going to be a flying ticket to every human that heard Gemikai could. No way that was happening.
"Alright. I'm taking my lunch break."
Gemikai had made sure the team outside worked a great deal before the expert agent was ready to eat. The hybrid was never questioned or spoken against when it came to the seniors. Everyone else already ate, so Gemikai also acquired himself some alone time. Gemikai was approaching his locker with intent to check his fitness bag for something, when the hybrid felt something strange. A strong but subtle tingle in his senses - then agent Gemikai could have sworn he heard something. Gemikai scanned the locker room and found no one. Renso didn't wait long - the inner demon spoke quickly.
"Something has been trying to get through to you today."
Now that Renso spoke it the curiosity increased within the agent's body. This sensation wasn't exactly fear but it caused for extreme alert. What could be really happing inside this particular base? Why now? Gemikai finally started moving again towards his locker. The moment the hybrid was about to close his locker - he felt it again - and stronger. A muffled sound came through and it felt like a - well like a hello. "Hmmm." Gemikai wasn't going to waste words on something he couldn't see - but he was going to concentrate. The brain was saying communication but the body feels sort of new to it. Renso is deep within in his chambers looking intently in the eyes of the warrior. They could both feel it. Silence is how you hear something. The silence laid the air for a couple of seconds before a stronger sound pushed into a space of the air - and into his brain.
"Hello. Can you hear me?"
A voice he's never heard of before - in his head! Telepathy was one of the many talents he'd heard about but never tried to learn himself. Witches were capable of it - yes - but this sensation felt very different. Goldly like. It made Gemikai full on froze. No ki in the area but a presence that felt like it encloses the entire earth. Gemikai made an attempt to reach out with his mind and make a word send. "HELLO!" The dying urge to be heard was felt as his mind went quiet. Renso denied himself the rumor of saying something - besides, they were both too busy try to figure out who was trying to contact him. Renso was familiar with this but didn't think Gemikai was ready for it. Renso was wrong - but he was also right. Gemikai's nose started to bleed a little bit during the sending process. This was coming out rough but fortunately the new voice was friendly and knowledgeable.
"Take your time child. This form of communication isn't meant for you to strain or blast your energy. Use the energy coming from my communication to create your own communication on your end. Don't strain. Let your communication be loose and free. Now let us try again. Shall we?"
The voice was so fatherly to Gemikai. The training outside must be getting promising - because this locker room incident was unnoticed. Gemikai went to the sink to handle the blood, and as his hands moved in productive fashion - his lungs cleared as the warrior thought to try again. Nothing hurt exactly - but his mental muscles weren't used to that level of communication yet. The brain can develop and evolve if you allow it. Questing the presence seemed foolish, but a random technique lesson don't just drop in your head everyday.
"Okay ... I am attempting communication again."
Another telepathic blast shot through Gemikai and into the communication that he felt was connecting to his mental realm. Magick that Gemikai easily dismissed years ago was now so interesting to him. Awaiting the mysterious strangers response - the agent was now sitting on a bench trying to listen. It took a while but finally an answer returned to his mental realm.
"Better! It's more clear. The energy took it's time to get up here but it appeared gracefully. Good job. I can't help but noticed your lunch time is over. I will contact you when you are done. We have much to discuss, Gemikai."
Gemikai felt the mental disconnection a few seconds after that. Gemikai was sure he'd never forget the sound of his voice.
... Meanwhile, Renso and Gemikai's Conversation From Within ...
"Well, what do you think?" Asked Gemikai internally to Renso - the only person he really could talk to about these things. To ask that dog demon usually felt bittersweet, but the energy was so reassuring it was no way to say no. Still, Gemikai was sort of a package deal.
"I don't think it's malice. The energy felt ancient and honest. Telepathy isn't a side of bad news, but more a sign of technique. It's unique. Felt like the message was coming from everywhere. I think we are dealing with real power here. We should at least ask him - he has your number and your name. So he's at least somewhat interested in you."
"Well I don't think it's USD related. I can feel real power coming from the end of whatever line we were connected to. I don't know why but I want to take the risk and find out who that was and how they knew me!"
"Of course. Just be careful. You aren't half as strong as me, but a power like yours can still be sought out by others. Others with bad intentions. Showing your presence and voice but not your face isn't very honorable - not to mention they didn't introduce themselves. Just be careful." The dog demon had his arms crossed as his tv monitor showed the king everything around Gemikai. Someone had to be at least a little bit skeptical of the random appearance. Like dude who or what are you.
"Thank you. I will."
Points for the advisor.
The agent considered these things playfully as Gemikai took off back outside to finish the training with the real rookies. This particular part of the day wasn't important to viewers. Cheering on the agents as the senior members schooled the newbies, the warrior was still stuck on his random new telepathy teacher. The demon accepted all the fake ass compliments the officials gave him as the training session for the day had ended. Gemikai was asked to stay longer - all expenses paid. It was convenient because Gemikai was itching to see if the reason why he was doing telepathy earlier was the place. Gemikai was all alone at home, by home now bored in broad daylight. Did the fatherly man lie to him? Get held up? Gemikai was starting to think he was being stood up and the thought almost made him pouty. Gemikai was staying patient at home looking through some old magic books he brought with him for the trip. Renso took this time to lightly explain the teachings of telepathy as a form of training to prepare the warrior next time it's prompt. Telepathy probably works better with a partner - which makes sense why Gemikai never thought to pursue it.
"Hello Again. Gemikai." The voice.
It came in so clear. This birthed a strong smile that lasted forever. Super geeked - physically almost jumping how giddy the man felt. The voice felt more like an up close phone conversation, and the reception wasn't nearly as painful. The body wasn't using these muscles, and now he must catch up fast. Now that he was catching up to communication - it was time to have some. Fortunately no one was around him to see the looks on his face. It was clearing up - the connection. It's been a long time since Gemikai learned a new move. But the conversation needed to continue.
"Thanks for the lesson. But since we are here .. who are you and why did you come teach me that? You say my name as tho you are familiar."
Straight to the point. He met a few interesting people recently, but none that pulled this kind of power. Let's not beat around the bush. Gemikai was obviously grateful but the mystery and arrival needed to be addressed.
"I have been familiar with your family and their magick for a long time. I am Kami. The Guardian of Earth. I watch over our planet. I am.more than familiar with the magic you are awakening. I'm aware of the energy your families bloodline hold. And the Demon Witch-King connected to your power. I watch a lot up here actually. As for why I taught you that is simple."
Getting straight to the point didn't seem so far fetched. Nevermind the boldness of the Guardian - Gemikai was starting to remember pieces of his past. Lately the memory has been working much better than usual. There were definitely a few books back in the day Gemikai read about powerful figures that psychic witches believe exist. Kami was one of them. Nothing specific on them so Gemikai passed it off as a mystery not solved - well not solved by him. If you were in his house with him you could tell a realization was coming. But this was a pause because Kami wasn't done. The godly figure allowed the mortal to grasp his own history to put together pieces of a road. A road onward towards a greater destiny. Kami the almighty spoke again. Beautiful were the words as he spoke them.
"I am looking for protectors of our planet earth. Your spirit and power has shown me you will become a great leader in time. The Universal Syndicate of Defense isn't equipped with the knowledge, power, skills, or techniques to build and polish your kind of power. You're entire life has been leading to this. From martial arts, to magic, to even security. And now the Universal Syndicate of Defense. I would like to call this a calling if you will. You aren't like those other humans. Your power is different, and difficult to understand and control. They won't prepare you for fighters capable of mass destruction. The recent attacks on our soul don't feel like they have stopped forever. When it comes, I'd prefer a young warrior like yourself to be ready. Allow me to train you. Be my Pupil. Help me defend earth?"
This shit felt like a movie. The words felt so true. More memories started swirling through the youngsters mind. It's always felt like a direction was pulling the strings. The ability to see an attribute and go with it felt convenient, but maybe fate had a greater role to play at hand. Gemikai spent quite some time helping the humans survive and train - but no one to help him. In fact - it always made him feel more alone, but Gemi makes it look good. Renso is his advisor, but can't help him physically. So, stronger individuals are a must to really bring him out of his limits. Gemikai felt like asking what was in it for Kami, but the urge was killed by grace. If Kami was real Gemikai would totally want a guy like that trying to help out. Gemikai chose gratitude. Some time was took though before Gemi made a statement, fully intent on opening himself to a bright new positive opportunity and not allow fear or doubt cloud the mental realm. Finally, the mortal took a bow. A bow of respect.
"I accept this calling. Thank you for taking a chance on me. I won't let you down. I'm ready to reach greater heights and defend my planet better. How do we get started, because I'm ready."
Gemi was getting excited. No expectations of course, but a few ideas are always burning in the back of his mind. Moves he might not be ready for today, but Gemi is always patient for tomorrow. Growth is everyday. Also Gemikai didn't want this opportunity to waste or his enthusiasm for his decision be swayed by any form of self sabotage. Self sabotage will not be the downfall of a warrior like Gemikai, and for him it felt like now or never. Besides, he was off work with nothing else to do off duty. Might as fuxking well.
"Excellent. You may call me Master Dende. We have already started. You've been excellent at telepathic communication towards the end. You learned it by just talking with me. Amazing. Just like I knew you would. Come to me. I'll send you the location telepathically. You'll strengthen this skill on the way to me. I can't wait."
Mind mothafreakkin blown. Gemikai was so invested in the conversation he had forgotten how easy telepathy was for him during the conversation. Maybe the moment was so intense that communication was smooth or - Gemi was stronger than he thinks. This realization came with a smirk. This was a lot to take in - the psychic mind communication link was disconnected but his shock was still present. Eventually after containing himself from joy and stardom, Gemi smoked a little bit of weed and did more yoga to stay sharp. Afterwards he remembered the energetic essence leading him towards the Guardian of Earth. Gemi was off with one objective once again - Get Stronger.
