"MAKAIOKEN!" Liari ROARED! Her arms shot out to her sides as her aura suddenly DOUBLED where she stood, her signature, for an instant, BLASTING OUT across space like a signal from the world's largest radio-antenna! The air, in time with the tint of her aura, flashed a DEEP, threatening blue, the ship around her trembling as if a new center of gravity was established within! Liari gritted her teeth, shut her eyes and FOCUSED on the sudden surge of power, imagining it as a sudden flash flood, threatening to sweep over the boundaries of her normal ki-network... or the would if she wasn't ready for it. She quieted her mind, silenced the anxiousness summoned by the sudden upsurge, guided, instead of forced, the ki-surge in an almost circular motion within her network, allowing it to pass in and out, through and back across her body. The sweat forming across the majin's rubbery skin hissed off her form in steam, clouds of it puffing out of the holes lining her arms as her muscles bulked slightly... yet noticeably. Nerves bulged along the Majin's forehead, down her neck and biceps, pulsating with a sudden flow of blood, regular and steady. Liari slowly straightened her back and rose her full height, her silver eyes glowing a deep red as she locked eyes on her master.
Zamasu studied the Majin with a small measure of amazement. The kai was hardly the sort to second guess his own plans, not least one as grand as the salvation of the Universe... but when it came to Mortals, even the magically inclined such as this one, they were all so repulsively... limited. They simply didn't understand their place in the universe... or even less so their lack of it when Zamasu's plan had fully come into focus. After that monumental failure all those years ago, the thought of even consorting with mortals was... repulsive. UNTHINKABLE even. ...But it was necessary. The Super Dragonballs were nowhere to be found and, more importantly, it seemed as if the mortal-level of Universe 7 had declined rather substantially since those days. Things were... manageable... but he had needed to be cautious. Zamasu had learned that arrogance, true unmitigated overconfidence in oneself was the reason for his downfall. He underestimated mortals, to the lengths they would go to defend their heresy...
So what better way to exterminate their filth than to use one of their own?
When he had first noticed the majin, Zamasu was... less than impressed. She was but a minute cosmic rumbling in the universe, not unlike a passing meteor or a stream of space-energy. She was powerful, yes... but that was all. Not a thought in her head. Time had passed and she had grown. Not just in size and mind but also as an individual. She had... motives. Goals. Her destruction wasn't quite as wonton as it had been before. She seemed to have a purpose... something Zamasu could manipulate.
The Kai shifted to his combat stance, his hands straightened into blade-like shapes, his legs slightly bent in an anticipatory quat. Liari LUNGED for the kai, zipping from one place to the next in the space between instants. His gaze flicked from place-to-place before raising his hand, catching the majin's fist out of the air the moment it manifested in place! In the next instant, a boot swiped the place where Zamasu's face had once been, the toe of it nearly clipping the tip of the Kai's chin as he withdrew from the attack!
Liari could feel her body already starting to burn as she circled around for another angle-of-attack. Just TWO moves and her body was already starting to suffer, trembling at the seems like a shaken soda about to explode. She gritted her teeth and LUNGED into the air, cupping her hands behind her!
"Ka... Me..." Liari muttered, an orb of black ki cupped between her hands! Zamasu cocked an eyebrow, his lips curled downward in an uncertain frown.
"...You do realize that if you fire that in a space like this you will destroy your own ship, yes...?"
"Ha... ME..."
Zamasu narrowed his eyes further. What was she trying to pull? Surely she wouldn't destroy her own ship and risk her own death right? Majin regeneration was impressive, to be certain, but it wasn't great enough, especially in this generation, to survive the sudden exposure to space, the compression of the ship upon her and then its inevitable explosion. Zamasu's jaw dropped in shock as the majin's form began to dissipate before him, her body dissolving into cubes before his very eyes! Her aura, as vast as it was, disappeared in that instant as well, leaving the kai alone in the ship!
"What's this..." He muttered, looking about slowly... but seriously. "How did she..." His ears perked up as an ethereal groan reverberated through the chamber, the god wheeling around only to see... the hands of the majin... and the sphere between them... an inch from his face.
"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!" She screamed, the blast CONSUMING THE SHIP... or it would have had she not opened a portal behind him! The excess energy was blasted SAFELY out into the vacuum of space, erupting into the deepest black anyone would ever know! Liari's aura flickered back to its normal color as the Makaioken faded from her body, her chest rising and falling heavily as her arms fell to her side.
...From the smoke, the Kai's face poked out, almost as if it were spawning from the cloud a chunk at a time! He stared at the majin silently, his expression unreadable from the smoke he stood within... before, with a swipe of his hand, he cleared it.... He was smiling oddly.
"...I would have never thought a mortal would have been able to master my techniques without years of study... decades... that which the gods themselves needed to create these powers..." The kai muttered, crossing his arms. Liari, her eyelids drooping from the exertion of the blast, nearly stumbled, barely catching herself at the last moment.
"Then... I.... did it...?" She mumbled.
"You did... And there is yet more for you to learn..." Zamasu acknowledged, cupping his chin in his hand. "...Though I am skeptical teaching what comes next to a mortal..."
"I can do it..." Liari muttered, once again nearly stumbling to her knees! "Teach me.... I will... I will do it..."
"Hm... Perhaps..." Zamasu muttered noncommittally. "For now... Rest, Mortal. Your body has tasted Makaioken for the first real time... No doubt it is suffering from substantial shock." In that moment, Zamasu would disappear... and Liari would collapse in a heap.
