Well, if it wasn't the last day of Athren's training with Vegeta. It didn't have to be but the simple fact was, Athren really only wanted this one technique from him. Even if Athren had been aware of some of the others, this was really the only one that felt practical for him. It wasn't everyday he found a technique another had that he felt like he needed but the final explosion technique was simply top tier. Not only would it allow him to possibly defeat a very strong opponent as a last ditch effort but it would also prevent him from being absorbed if he ended up removing himself from the situation and he'd much rather that than allow a majin to use his power for evil. This technique was a preventative measure and he knew it was only a matter of time until he would need to use it, after all the universe was full of powerful individual that would come try to take the Earth and destroy everything that he had grown to care about. Though with this thought in mind, he was about to try this technique and surviving would be a challenge.
The pair of them had been at the Oozaru wastelands once more, it would be the final time they'd be there together and both of them knew it. Athren's purpose here was simple and he was about to succeed with that purpose. Though Vegeta couldn't help but make a quick comment before Athren got started. "Stay calm and focused. Control your Ki." They were very simple words of advice but Athren knew where it was coming from. If he put too much into this or lost control of how much he was putting into it, he figured that would be when he died and the goal wasn't to die here, he had to survive. He still had a few things to live for and a few more fights left in his system before he kicked the bucket.
Athren nodded his head at Vegeta and all he could say was a simple word. "Right." It was in that moment that Athren flew out to the Oozaru Wasteland and kept himself high in the sky. Even though his priority was to learn this technique and do it properly, he really didn't want the landscape to get destroyed as a result of it. He might've not been invested in the planet, culture or the race anymore but he had a lot of fond memories in this wasteland. It's where he had grown plenty of his techniques and really grew as a warrior. That alone was worth something.
Though now that he was in position, it was time to get back into his focused mindset and really get this thing going. This could very well be the end of his life, he knew it but it was far too late to back out now. This was everything he wanted in a fail safe technique, it was time to get it.
Athren would take a deep breather and collect his thoughts, he wanted to make sure that he was focused only on this technique and nothing else. Though the risks of this technique were very high, he wasn't going to think about his kids or his village. He couldn't allow himself to become that distracted. He needed to remain on point here, for the slightest emotional thought could be more than enough to turn this thing into a complete catastrophe. It was at this moment Athren focused all of his energy and sourced it to a single point, his mastery of Ki heavily assisting in this task. He charged it, focused it and prepared it for launch and while this took a few moments, it was still relatively quick for the type of technique and the amount of energy that was being put into it.
When Athren felt ready, he recalled Vegetas instructions on how to use this technique and followed it to the letter and when he was ready he finally released it. "RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" He exclaimed as he unleashed the massive final explosion technique all around him. The wave surrounding him got bigger and bigger as he forced all of his Ki energy into it and began pouring his life energy into it. He could feel the immense power that he was putting out and the destructive force of the technique. It was truly something else and it was the most powerful attack that he's ever managed to use.
He could feeling draining him, exhausting all his resources as he continued to put power into the technique. Vegeta would feel the massive blast of wind blowing against him as he spectated from a safe distance. He remained silent as he watched, hoping that his student would manage to survive. He had no doubt that Athren could do the technique, but he did doubt his chances of survival.
Though it didn't take much longer before the attack came to a close and Athren had expired just about all the energy within his system. His breathing was heavy at the conclusion of the technique but he was alive and he was drained. "Fuck.." He muttered from his lips before his eyes closed and his body gave out. He couldn't help but pass out from the exhaustion. His body would fall to Vegeta and collided with the planet for a rest. Though Vegeta would take him home and put him somewhere to rest until he could head back to Earth.
Now that Athren knew how to use the attack, he was going to be able to use it again. Though this time, he had survival in mind. Next time, he might not be so lucky depending on the circumstance but his goal was a success. He now had a perfect technique to use as a fail safe against a majin or just somebody extremely powerful. If giving his own life would protect his childrens future, it would be a price he'd be more than happy to pay.
