It was yet another ordinary day on Frost, at least as ordinary as that planet could be since the idle had hit them and it seemed like all progress on new conquests had slowed down to a crawl. Of course the faction didn't give up on their current line up of planets and was still maintaining the planets they had conquered, but their reach for new lands had shortened. This wasn't something that sat right with Arctic, as a Changeling and life long member of the PTO he fully believed that they should keep expanding further and further out into the universe. No planet should be safe. Arctic couldn't help but think that all planets should be enslaved with few exceptions.
The biggest exception was any planet capable that had a large enough or powerful enough species to counter attack, break free or form a powerful resistance in the future. Those types of planets should be outright eliminated in the best interest of the PTO. Secure the future of his own faction without taking any risks and the Saiyan race alone was more than capable of matching them and with the reports of what was happening on Earth.
From the intel that Arctic had gathered through various resources within the faction, the Saiyan empire was either trying to build allies or consume them. He couldn't quite determine it given the recent events but this wasn't what had concerned him the most. His biggest concern from the Saiyan race aside from their numbers and fighting skill was the dawn of this new golden haired form that he hears so much about.
Arctic was very familiar with the great ape form that the saiyan's had and even that could be a threat in numbers. It was a transformation that all saiyan's would achieve under the right environmental conditions and that alone was dangerous to the PTO but this golden haired form? Reports state that it amplifies the users combat strength much further than the great ape form ever could and this was concerning. Arctic knew he has a long way to go before he would be a major player in this universe, and to him this 'Super Saiyan' would be the biggest opposition to his master plan and the greatest threat to himself. It would be something that he would have to manage to defeat though the reward would be very great.
Out of all of the warriors that Arctic had faced up until this point in his life, he had never faced such a powerful foe. His skirmishes with the saiyan's in the past were rough but none of them were capable of truly bringing him to the point of concern but this? This was concerning, even before meeting on of these legendary saiyan's. The extent of his intel was simply appearances, power amplification and feats.
He knew not a single thing more or a single thing less, but he knew that in order to face one of these warriors, he would need to be prepared beyond measure and surely, his true form would be required at maximum output.
Though the thought of battling one of these saiyan's brought some slight concern to him now, he couldn't help but see this type of warrior as a valued target. Through the years the Saiyan Empire rivalled the planet trade organization in both numbers and power capacity and being able to quite literally chop the heads off these golden warriors, would be a pleasure that Arctic craved, desired. It would be the ultimate way to know how far he's come, the greatest way to show his superiority over the Saiyan monkeys.
He couldn't imagine the fear in their eyes when they would learn that he was chopping heads off and collecting them as trophies, he would bring the Saiyan race to their knees if his plan were to accordingly, devalue them as warriors and show the universe who the absolute supreme faction was. It was time for the Saiyan's long lived run to end, and Arctic had every single intention to be the one to bring the Saiyan Empire down. With the heads of high value saiyans on his shelf, surely it would send a message to the rest of the universe exactly what he was capable of. It would spread fear as the rumor spread about his might and terror, bring those around to their knees to beg for their lives. Surely, it would encourage those to work as slaves to his grand design instead of to fight it. His overall presence and reputation would be more than enough to enslave entire planets, and that was part of the plan. He just needed to get there.
He was well aware that at this very moment, he didn't have the power to manage this massive grand design that he spent so long developing. He was going to have to train a lot more frequently and a lot harder if he wished for this to actually happen. It wasn't impossible, he was lucky enough to be gifted with great strength as it was and even luckier that he could gain much more at such a faster rate. When the great power would finally arrive, Arctic would have absolutely no issues running through the universe and going through with his plans and not even a 'super' saiyan would be able to stop him.
He would run the universe with an iron grip around it, his will would be acted upon and resistance would be met with death and that was the way he intended on ruling. Those in his good graces such as Daru would be lucky in the terms that they'd be rewarded greatly for their efforts and their loyalty, but everybody else would very much be at risk, for the slightest flaw or error in their ways would determine the end of their life with the swift lift of a finger. Arctic wouldn't tolerate anything less than the absolute best performances possible and failure wasn't apart of that.
It may have been strange for some to think of the reasons why Arctic wanted to remove the Saiyan race out of existence but it was truly quite simple. It wouldn't even take high intellect to figure it out. The simple fact of the matter was, they were far too great of a threat to leave alive and the only real threat to the Empire that Arctic wanted to build. The USD as a whole was once on their level, especially when the saiyan race had been part of their alliance but that wasn't the case anymore. The factions had divided and with the saiyan attack on Earth both last year and this year, the USD on the Earth was left weakened, almost ripe for the taking.
Arctic had known all along that Earth was a point of interest for the PTO, their native species were perfect for slave labor. They had people by the thousands and their planet was a perfect environment full of rich and valuable resources. It all made sense why the PTO would want such a place. Not only that but the native species was rather weak for the most part, there had been all but a few exceptions but they wouldn't be able to defend themselves against a PTO attack. There had been very much to gain from that planet with little to no risk, unless of course the saiyan race had been involved.
The Earth itself was part of his plan but that was much further down the line, it was something that he very much agreed with on how the Earth's population and resources would benefit the Planet Trade Organization. Not only that, but it was a very popular planet that could serve as a hub within the universe for the PTO. It was just far too good to pass up but before Arctic would even begin to reach that far, he'd have to grab what was before it and that wouldn't be easy. There was lots of work to do, and within the abilities of his own training potential and the abilities of the fruit of the tree of might, he might just be able to reach for these goals a lot sooner than later. As was the plan.
Though there were multiple concerns along the way with the Saiyan race being the highest one on the list, he knew that destroying the Planet Vegeta and removing them from his way wouldn't come without a challenge. The rumor had it that the Queen had displayed quite the fighting potential with her little skirmish with the Earthlings. It wasn't anything overly accurate in terms of exactly how powerful she was, but it was stated that she was far beyond the average saiyan which at this point in time, put her well above Arctic himself. Now if she were to come out an attempt to ruin their plans of the tree of might, they might have had a fight on their hands. This was something he would need to be over-prepared for, he wasn't going to allow this saiyan monkey of a Queen to put a stop to his years of planning. He was going to insure that he could defeat her himself with ease and with the added assistance of Daru, make damn well sure that the two of them together would have no problems if Arctic were to miscalculate.
Though he strongly believed he was superior to most and his arrogance often got in the way and clouded his judgements, he knew a real threat when he heard about it and these Super Saiyan level warriors were nothing to sweep under the rug. They would have to be dealt with accordingly, intelligently and swiftly and he couldn't allow them to multiply. He did firmly believe that it would be beneficial to have his own person squad of fighters at his disposal so that he always had the numbers on his side but even that may prove to be difficult, given the PTO's current state of soldiers. Powerful soldiers had become a rarity within the PTO and their ranks had been flooded with weaklings. They provided great numbers but as far as talents go, skill was few and far between. Most platoons of soldiers would easily be dealt with by a single warrior of the caliber that Arctic was thinking about, he would have to find the few that could withstand such opponent, ones with unique abilities of their own. Arctic damn well knew that none of this was going to be easy, but it would have to be done in order to accomplish his goals and he couldn't even think of all the unknown factors that could play a hand in his undoing. The universe was a vast and wide place and nobody could truly understand what was lurking in the far reaches of it. The only thing he could really do was make sure that after his initial conquest of the faction and the planet, is make sure he was prepared for everything.
Though being prepared meant a lot of things, right now the best place he could put his focus was on himself. It wasn't time to worry about having his own personal fighting squad or improving the military of the Planet Trade Organization, no. This was the time to focus on himself to prepare for what needed to be done. After all, he was going to be doing most of the work alongside Daru. She would help him but he wasn't going to count on her to be there for everything, after all she did have her own goals and her own life. This preparation that Arctic had in mind wouldn't just be on a physical aspect in regards to his own power level but he was thinking much deeper than that. He wanted to train his mental resilience, improve upon his technique, even improve upon the way he did fight to make sure that he could duke it out with even the most elegant fighters within the universe.
He was well aware that a fight was much more than power levels, it came down to strategy and techniques and those were things that Arctic didn't often have a chance to hone throughout his life. He had spent most of his life being above the rest in power and very few were able to even give him a warm up and this put him almost at a disadvantage. Though Arctic was a capable fighter in his own right, he never had the opportunities to dig deep and push himself to the win, he never had to work hard to out perform or out think his opponent, he was often just capable of overwhelming them rather easily. Not only did this hold him back from becoming a better fighter in general but it also put a chip on his shoulder which could easily be removed under the right circumstances.
Though he assumed to know better, he truly wasn't quite sure how he would act in the face of defeat. Would he remain calm and cool and focus on how to turn the tables or would he completely turn a fool in the pressure and act out with every technique that he could in an effort to win? There had been a lot of factors in this that would ultimately play a part on how he shaped his future and with the amount of unknowns, he had to reduce the risk of all these potential outcomes happening. He would somehow need to teach himself discipline after a lifetime or having very little and that may have been one of the harder things to learn.
He could easily design new and unique techniques that would assist him in his fights and he could also teach himself how to combine his Ki and melee strikes together to be a much deadlier warrior, but mental and physical discipline wasn't just something he could practice. That was something that needed real world trials to perfect, he couldn't simulate those situations but he could only mentally prepare in efforts to be ready for them. Regardless, power would be very much required and that was something he could begin to work on immediately. He knew throughout his conquest we would have to face off against few would would try to challenge him on their own, the fights would find him whether or not he would want them too or not and power would be the primary way to push through and eliminate those threats.
Today, was going to be a day to prepare for that. A lot of his preparations would take quite some time, including on gaining strength but the simple fact of it was that he could get started on that one immediately. It may take time to get to where he needed to be but starting now would be beneficial as his power would grow in time. This would bring him to a very rapid conclusion on where to spend the rest of his day.
He could've worked on researching the tree of might seed further or spent some time recruiting more troops to his own cause but the rest of the day was going to be designated to training up his own power and fighting abilities and he had just the place to do it. There was one massive benefit to being a higher ranking member of the PTO and that was access to the state of the art training facilities that the factions wealth could provide and being feared could make it even better. Arctic could essentially force everybody else out to make full use of the facilities himself, which would be very beneficial. Arctic didn't like being around the weaker member of the PTO, unless of course he had use for them and in a situation where he wanted to train, he was better off left alone or in the company of somebody he could trust around.
He had this mindset simply because he didn't want others to know about his abilities or how he would fight in a battle. Though he wanted his reputation of brutality to be spread throughout the ranks, he didn't want the high levels of detail being spread on the how or the why. His techniques would be his own and his fighting style would remain only for those who got to witness it when it was needed. The less people knew, the better off he would be and this was amplified when it came to his transformations. His current form was simply to hide his power, it wasn't a form based on amplifying his power like the super saiyan transformation he had recently learned about, but instead it was quite the opposite. His stronger forms were actually his normal state and what he was currently in was simply there to hide what he was truly capable of. It wasn't often that he'd find an opponent capable of drawing out his true form and for that reason, he much rather preferred to keep it hidden from the views of everybody else. He wanted to keep it a surprise and when he revealed it, those around would truly learn to fear him.
With the conclusion of what he was going to do today, Arctic would head over to the Imperial Divisions area of the Planet. This area typically held the barracks for the soldiers and the royal homes. It was a rather nice area of the planet that was well maintained and kept. It lacked entertainment options and attractions but it served it's purpose well. It was primarily here to house soldiers and the wealthy and that was the extent of it. Though it did house many soldiers and the wealthy, it did provide enough training supplies and resources for the soldiers to use during their downtime, including some of the top-of-the-line training facilities.
He would enter the building that housed these fancy facilities and make his way into one of the rooms designed heavily for fight training, while it did have a gravity chamber, the gravity chamber had been down for quite some time and pending some repairs. Nobody really knew when it was going to get fixed but Arctic hadn't been counting on that to happen anytime soon but that same room did also have robotic training dummies for one to spar against to hone their abilities and techniques. These robots were rather state of the art, capable of fighting at quite a very high range of power. Not only were they rather powerful for what they were, but they were also durable. These things were designed to take a beating from even the stronger of opponents and withstand to tank some of the strongest attacks that fighters could dish out, they were a true asset to the PTO and its forces.
Not only were they an asset to all the lower-level soldiers of the forces but they were also a very big asset for Arctic's training. Though Arctic wasn't one to commonly train he had used them previously in the past from time to time. He did enjoy what they were capable of doing and they did provide him with the bare necessities to get stronger. It was just a shame that they didn't have a higher intelligence with more tactical strikes. They had some moves, but even the AI behind them still had some learning to do.
He couldn't help but think that in the future these robots would advance greatly but for now, they would be a very basic addition to his training.
Arctic would make his way through the facility to the room with the robots and enter. It was a very large circular room that provided plenty of space and resources for an individual to get stronger and there had been about three others here using it to prepare for whatever their future would hold in store for them. Arctic would walk in with has hands behind his back as he observed them with his red eyes. Their fighting styles were rather unique and these few soldiers had actually seemed interested in standing out from the crowd of the average PTO soldiers but Arctic wouldn't have them here while he trained, after all he was superior to all of them.
This room was going to be his own and he wouldn't have distractions or these weaklings getting in the way of what he had set out to do. He'd simply give them their options and he'd do it rather quickly, though before he began to run his mouth he would sense out the individuals as they were training at full power and he could immediately tell that while they were far above the average soldiers, they were still far below his own power output. They wouldn't take much effort to deal with if they had so decided to resist Arctics simple demands, but he'd quickly see how that were to go.
Arctic would stand there at his short height, loudly stating to those who were busy with training with the robots in his very cold, serious tone. " Conclude your training, I am going to make use of this room for the rest of the day and your presence is nothing more than my own inconvenience." He couldn't help but pause for a moment as he watched all the eyes in the room turning to rest upon his own short figure. "Get out." He made it very clear what he wanted and he wasn't going to settle for anything less than that. These fools would have a very minimal amount of time to take his warning seriously and remove themselves from his own presence.
The one soldier immediately shut down his training dummy and made his way past Arctic and out the door. He was obviously the smartest one in the room and either knew of Arctic's reputation or just the reputation that his race had. The Changelings were typically very feared in the ranks of the PTO, for most were abnormally powerful beings with very short patience. They weren't afraid of slaughtering people in public and making an example of those who didn't follow their request. Regardless of why this individual had left early, he had certainly secured the future of his own life.
The other two individuals in the room though, either they weren't aware of whom was speaking to them or they simple didn't care. It was quite possible that their own ego was the thing that was preventing them from pushing themselves out of the room or maybe it was something else, regardless they both would stop their training but they simply watched the other fighter leave. It would be noted that both of these remaining troops were rather big and bulky in size, in fact they towered over Arctic. Though in his First Form, that didn't take much at all. It could've been there size over him that gave them the odd sense of entitlement and defiance but it was very well misplaced, these fools didn't have a chance even if they were much larger and only Arctic truly knew it.
The bigger of the two was the one to initiate the words on the actual confrontation, he was even so bold to approach Arctic and stand a mere few feet in front of him, almost as if he was going to try and face off against the much shorter opponent. "Who the hell are you to tell us what to do?" He chirped back as his glare looked downwards towards Arctic.
Of course Arctic wasn't going to tolerate this sort of behaviour. His instructions were very simple and very plain, he were to expect that somebody were to understand it and listen without trying to make a big deal out of it, though this would be over relatively quickly. Arctic's right hand would have sprung up quickly as he pointed his finger towards the opposing soldiers chest and instantly he launched his death beam technique right through his chest. While the other soldier's eyes widened in shock and terror, the one who had received the blast through the chest had gasp for air loudly while his eyes widened with the sharp blow of pain running through his nervous system.
Within a few short seconds, the soldier that had been struck by the blast took four and a half steps before toppling over. His body hit the ground with a loud thud as the soldier did his best to apply pressure to the wound in attempt to slow the blood loss. He was also gasping for air as he began to cough up blood. Arctic on the other hand would simply watch as he struggled to cling to life and he knew that this soldier had all but a few short moments of life left. The other soldier would have began to run for the door but this wasn't going to be allowed either.
Just as fast as the soldier had passed Arctic, Arctic had turned and brought his aiming finger up all but one more time and swiftly another blast escaped it. Though it was aimed at the back of the mans kneecap. The death beam collided with flesh and puncture right through the bone and came out the other side and with all his momentum the soldier hit the ground with a loud scream. He rolled over and began to grip his knee momentarily.
Arctic on the other hand would glare back at the initial soldier that he blasted and simply watched for the last few seconds before the soldier had finally passed on due to his injuries. The feeling of power watching the soldier die was great, it really added to the chip on his shoulder and the superiority complex that had already plagued his personality. It was most likely his biggest weakness but he could never see it as such. Now it was time to deal with the other soldier who had decided to cross his orders. The one that was whimpering like a coward on the floor. Arctic couldn't help but turn to face him once again, his hands now positioned behind his back as he began to pace over towards the fool. "Out of the three of you, there was only one of you with higher intelligence. Such wasted potential, If I do say myself." Arctic couldn't help but began walking over to him slowly.
The individual on the floor would begin to beg for mercy, he knew he was in a very bad situation. "Pl-please! Just let me go, I didn't think it was a big deal! There was more than enough room for all of us..!" He whimpered more as he winced in pain as the movement across the floor as he tried to retreat agitated the wound further. "I wasn't going to do anything..! I wasn't going to try and fight you!"
Arctic closed the gap in a few more steps and brought his right foot down hard on the mans wounded knee and through his loud screech of pain, Arctic would continue to talk to the soldier. "I'm well aware you weren't going to do anything because even if you were to make the attempt, you had the power to do absolutely nothing." It was at this moment that Arctic applied even more pressure to the wound, prompting the soldier to scream even louder. "All you had to do was listen and this whole thing could have been avoided and now, you're in your last few moments of life." Arctic couldn't help but grin at that statement, he was brought great pleasure when he was delivering pain to the others and it brought even greater pleasure to amplify their pain.
"Please..! Please just.. AH!" He screeched again as the pain rolled through his body. He was helpless, there was absolutely nothing he could here except hope that he would manage to survive this little encounter but by the looks of that, there was little hope to hold onto. This Arctic, was a very cold and brutal individual and seemed to be the type to finish off what he started and deliver on his words.
It was at this point that Arctic would bring up his finger once more and point it at the soldiers face. The grin on his own face getting much bigger as the soldier whimpered in fear even further. The best part of this? Was Arctic was very close with Aisu and there would be no punishment to be had here, even if he were murdering multiple PTO soldiers. He could twist the story, lie or outright tell the truth and still have absolutely no worries. That was the bright side of being one of Aisu's advisors. He could get away with a lot more than most and this was something he very well liked to abuse and he likely would abuse until he had managed to take over leadership of both the planet and the faction itself. He would continue to do this type of thing as leader and at that point, he would truly and fully be immune to consequences because at that point, there would be nobody capable of rivalling his power and punishing his actions.
It was at this point that Arctic fired another death beam at the face of the soldier. The blast easily cut through the soldiers flesh and bone and his torso would hit the floor with a quieter thud, given the distance to travel was a lot shorter. Now when Arctic had walked into this building, he surely didn't expect this to happen but he would have to admit that it was a rather nice surprise. He couldn't help but admit that he always did like this kind of entertainment. It might've costed a couple of pathetic lives but it was well worth the payment and now, the room was empty and Arctic could easily get to his training without any further distractions and to make sure it didn't happen, Arctic made his approach on the door and pressed the lock button, he'd even put his code in to make sure that nobody ranking below him could now access this room while he was in there.
The room was his and it was time to really get to work. He was motivated and rather happy with what had gone down. It almost boosted his morale to bring that amount of suffering to other individuals and to know that he was training to bring that amount of pain and suffering to the Queen of all saiyans made it even better. He was a very long way away from that point, but one could dream. Couldn't they? Though now that he was alone and the room was secured, he wanted to do this training session right. Though he had ideas on new techniques and improving some of his old ones, he thought it best he wait on those. He was better off starting off with a light warm up and working his way to more advanced fighting with the robot. They may have been rather basic but at his level, it should be more than enough to compete and give him a solid workout and opponent to work on his fundamentals.
Those would be the best thing to focus on for now, sharpen the basics and round himself off that way. If he were to throw in some basic combinations of attacks and improve upon his ability to pressure and combine his movements, he'd be a much deadlier warrior. He knew that in the future, he wouldn't be able to rely on just his power but his skill and strategy. He wanted to improve his power and that would come natural through practising what he intended too today.
He knew that sooner or later he was going to be facing down a super saiyan and though he wouldn't ever admit it out loud or even to himself, the thought of it was rather intimidating. Arctic had possessed a great power put to fight a warrior that had been lost to legend was something else entirely. How did the saiyans even come about such a transformation? All Arctic knew until a few months ago was that they were capable of transforming into a might great ape and that transformation was something that Arctic could keep up with now. It wasn't that impressive, it wasn't a big threat unless they were in numbers so where did this even come from? Arctic couldn't help but wonder if he too could break through his own boundaries and come up with something a whole lot stronger for himself. He didn't know if it was possible but he was already taking the right steps to get there, but for now that wasn't the priority. Growing stronger would allow him to maybe tap into something new, something much more powerful and something capable of overpowering a super saiyan but for now, basic power increases was the basic step.
Though before he was about to get started he couldn't help but walk around the room and look at all the robots. He was rather picky, he didn't want one that looked well used or was covered in blood from a soldier it had managed to hit, he wanted the best looking one in the room. He couldn't help but assume the newest looking one would be the best performing one with the fastest reaction time.
The planet trade organization was a very technological based faction and their planet was full of the universes newest technology. They relied on it so heavily for everything, from their scouters, armor, ships and so much more. It was almost a habit to think that the newest model was always the best, and though it typically was, Arctic wanted to make sure he was training with the most current option.
This wouldn't take overly long, even if the room had about ten of these robots he could tell from a quick visual which ones were in good shape. Even from a distance it was easy to tell which ones had the most ware and tear. The least used were obviously the newest additions, so he walked to those few options and when he was finally satisfied with the current model in front of him he would select it.
All he had to do now was activate the training robot and get to it, but he couldn't help but be a little thrilled that he was getting to do this. Though he had a habit of liking the dirty work done by those beneath him, he did enjoy the opportunity to get his hands dirty and get into a fight, it had more or less been about throwing around how superior he was to his opponents and showing the universe how helpless they were against him. This training session was essentially amplify his ability to do that and that would mean he'd get to do it in front of more people and against even stronger warriors.
He knew that in his future PTO plans, he was going to be the one making a lot of the bigger moves. He wasn't going to send an army to Vegeta, or Namek or Earth to conquer the planets under his name. Arctic had fully intended on making the trip with his soldiers and laying claim to those locations himself as the new emperor of the Planet Trade Organization. If Arctic was going to make his impact on the universe, he'd have to be there to do it himself. He'd need the people of the universe to fear his power, for those lucky enough to survive and be a slave to witness his power so the story could be told throughout. There was no room for error here, there was no reason for him to sit back and let the soldiers do his bidding at all times. He'd rise up himself and show the USD and the Saiyan Race, that he was the ultimate emperor of this universe with no equal to face him.
With the best equip training robot for the job now being selected, all Arctic had to do was give it the word and it would start it's offensive. Though before he gave the word he took a quick moment to mentally prepare himself for the fight to come. It was likely that this robot would outperform a majority of Arctic's former enemies, the ones he had managed to defeat rather easily and he wanted to brace for the impact that was to come. Though just to get some small distance, Arctic would hover off the ground and move himself back all but a few feet. The more distance that was between them, the more he'd be prepared.
When he was finally ready for the fight to begin, Arctic would say the words. "Activate Robot 117, Full Offensive Protocol, Full Power." and it was just after that, that the robots head titled up and scanned its target. The computer immediately registered who was the one that said it and list it as the target it was about to battle with and after that it didn't take very long for the the robot to press off the ground and rush Arctic with a barrage of ferocious punches and kicks at a very rapid pace.
When the robot had pressed him, Arctic was almost caught by surprise. He didn't expect such speed or elegance from this type of training robot, he remembered that the ones he used to train against were rather slow and sluggish. Though maybe that was quite a few years ago and the technology had just gotten so much better. Though when the Robot did attack, Arctic was more than capable of dipping and weaving his way around the attacks to avoid them making contact, though he had to admit that it wasn't an easy feat. In fact, at this rate it had been far more difficult than he thought and he knew that he couldn't try to counter attack. Within the first few moments of it's attack, the robot had pushed the Changeling so far on the defensive that there wasn't a gap for him to start his own offensive.
He spent his time moving around the room on foot and backing up. His primary goal at this point in time was purely defensive, he wanted to get himself into a pace where he could manage to start an offensive but that wasn't going to happen anytime soon. He had to figure out the pattern and pacing and in his first form, his speed wasn't reliable enough to just try to over power the robot that way and his power wasn't high enough to be able to tank blows from this robot either, he was in a very tight spot but this was the purpose of it all. Most couldn't pressure him like this and he truly did need real world experience to break through his own limits.
The only way he was going to be able to become a better fighter was create some kind of self discipline was these tough situations, he couldn't bully a fighter like that out of their attacks, he couldn't overpowered them when the situation such as this, he'd need to use his brain and think up something a lot better or create techniques to give him the edge to change the outcome of the fight. Though as he moved around the room and the Robots barrage of attacks kept him purely on the defensive, he was getting visibly annoyed. He couldn't stand the fact that currently a mere training robot was able to keep him on the defensive like this. Though, he was being pressed extremely hard he was still managing to avoid all of the oncoming attacks.
Now if this were a real live fighter made of flesh and blood, it was reasonable to conclude that Arctic could wait until they expended enough energy to slow down and then press his own attack when the opposition forced themselves to be vulnerable but that wasn't the case here. Not only was this fighter not going to run out of energy but he wouldn't stop until he was instructed too or enough damage was dealt that it would need to be repaired or replaced. That had put Arctic in a very difficult position with a decision to be made. Just how was he going to get out of this?
As he continued weaving, dipping and dodging all the attacks he just found himself getting more annoyed. He wanted to be able to dish it out just as much as the robot was trying too. That was the fun part about a fight, forcing pain upon others and watching them try their absolute best to resist. It wasn't fun or entertaining in the slightest when it was the other way around but that's what this was about, learning how to turn this negative situation into a favourable one, one that put all the power on Arctics side.
Though at this point it wouldn't take long before Arctic would make a mistake, he could only dodge so much after all and after a few minutes of flawlessly avoiding all incoming damage Arctic would finally catch a solid hit to his jaw that would force his head sideways, he would then feel a sharp kick to his side as it tossed him halfway across the room. Fortunately, he was able to keep his footing and he came to a sliding stop.
"YOU STUPID, ROBOT." Arctic exclaimed as his annoyance had now turned to anger. He was rather pissed that he had been hit. This was just a stupid training robot, how DARE it manage to land a blow on him like that. Arctic was supposed to be superior, one of the most powerful beings on the planet yet this creation had managed to deal some damage. He wouldn't tolerate it, he wouldn't accept or allow this to happen any further. Though unfortunately, the robotic training dummy was still pressing its attack on the Changeling elite. Though this time, it was going to be very different. If he was going to be hit that way, it was going to be when he was pressing his own offensive, he wouldn't allow his defensive capabilities to be torn through by a simple robot.
It was at this point that the two had clashed again, this time Arctic was moving back much slower and attempted to match the robot with its blows. Though Arctic was dodging and blocking a variety attacks there were many more coming through this time simply because he himself was launching attacks at the robot, and the robot was doing a very damn good job at defending itself. It wasn't allowing a single attack to hit it's mark while a good portion of it's attacks were.
Now this was an even worse situation, Arctic was losing his cool even quicker now that he was taking more of a beating. Not only that but his own attacks weren't hitting the robot. The robot was much faster and it was dodging, blocking and avoiding all damage that Arctic had been sending it's way. Whomever the hell had designed this thing, damn well knew what they were doing. This training robot truly was the top of training technology.
The fact that he couldn't land a hit on the robot only drove Arctic to try much harder, his superiority complex drove him to the point of over exerting himself to make it happen at the cost of plenty, not only was his attacks getting much sloppier but he was also slowing down due to the fact that he was driving himself to exhaustion through all his rapid attacks. They weren't planned and they weren't accurate, he was essentially a toddler having a fit. Though he wasn't going to back down nor quit, he needed to prove himself superior even if he was the only one in the room. His ego wouldn't allow for something like this to happen and he could only imagine what the outside world would think if there had been witnesses here. This was the exact reason why he eliminated those soldiers in here prior, there simply wasn't space for them and if they saw this, his reputation may have been ruined for the foreseeable future.
Though the harder he tried, the harder the hits he was taking felt and the more tired he felt. He was losing control of the situation completely and though his power level did play a part in that outcome, it was more his mindset. He came into this calm and cool, thinking he was going to do really well but it all went to shit really quickly. He couldn't help but lose control of his thoughts in his mind with the fit of rage he was experiencing and that was the real reason that this situation was getting so far out of his control. He wasn't thinking or reacting appropriately for this type of confrontation, he was simply trying to overwhelm the robot with raw force and power and clearly it wasn't working against an enemy like this. If the robot would get tired and would run out of energy or need a breather, maybe it would've worked but this? This wasn't going to go the way he had planned it.
It would then come to the point where Arctics offensive would slow to a snails pace and he would put all his resources back onto the defensive but given that he had already spent so much energy on offensive, now his defence was truly suffering. More and more hits were coming through and his back was nearly up against the wall, he didn't even think he'd be able to get out of this.
The hits came rolling in, his body and face impacted with hard punches, hard kicks and it was quite a long time since he experienced something like this but whether he liked it or not, it was something he needed.
This situation would put into perspective a very important lesson and whether or not he thought he was better than everybody else, it simply wouldn't be the case at all times and in those situations where he'd really need to fight for his victory. The most important thing to take from this was to keep a cool and collective head and not let ones emotions take the fight out of somebody's control. Now if Arctic could have a different mindset on the matter, maybe this whole thing would be a different outcome. This lesson would be very important and one he could take with him to the future. Stay focused, do not let emotions get in the way of the way you want to fight, be smart and outclass your opponent where they're weak and you're strong. Again, the fundamentals was what he was here to work on and that's what he was doing. It wasn't beneficial fighting against the weak, so whether or not he was grateful for how this was going down, it was going to make him better as a fighter.
Though with those thoughts in mind and the shear amount of pressure grinding up against him, he knew he was going to need to take a break. His body was being bounced around the room, hard kicks and punches were pressing into his skin and currently there was no way to reverse this and put this little fight in his favour. He simply needed a time out, recollect his thoughts and to try again. Otherwise, it would just continue in the direction that it was going. "Pause Robot 117, NOW!" Arctic yelled out in a rush and quickly, the robot would halt in it's position and take and idling pose.
With the idle now in full swing, Arctic had a moment to catch his breath and he so desperately needed it. He couldn't believe how this robot was overwhelming him to such a state. Of course, Arctic did have a source to turn this thing around immediately but he wasn't going to resort to that. For him to take his true form against this type of enemy would devalue it and that wasn't something he wasn't going to allow either and if he were to transform into his true form, he was certain that he was going to be able to overpower this robot with little to no difficulty and that would take away from this basic lesson. He was working on the fundamentals for a reason and if he were to skip out on them now, the lesson wouldn't be learned. He couldn't take the cop out and force himself through on the easy way, he had to master his own emotions and stay in control of himself the entire time.
He was allowed to feel whatever he wanted when the situation got bad but he couldn't let those emotions take control of the outcome. He would need to remained focused on the goal and keep pressing towards his absolute victory. It was clear to him now that he was allowing himself to breathe that he was in fact a flawed fighter and the only reason he ever did so well in the past was the was able to overpower his opponents so massively that they didn't even have a fighting chance and without that, he very well may have lost and even died to former opponents. It was a moment of reflection and while he wasn't happy, he was pleased to see this flaw brought out here and now instead of against a Super Saiyan, that battle would be much worse than this little training robot and he would have to be in a much better mental state than what he was currently in. He assumed that if he were to be fighting like this against a Super Saiyan, he would already be dead.
There was plenty of room to grow here and that was the whole purpose of this. He needed to be over prepared on all levels of combat, there wasn't any room for him to allow failure or defeat. "Damn it." He muttered under his heavy breathing as he tried to catch his breath still. He could still feeling the points of impact on his body as the bruised would already be starting to form. This training robot damn well knew how to make a hit. If only the rest of the PTO soldiers were like this, hell. Maybe Arctic would need a robot army to have as his soldiers, they seemed to know what they were doing.
Though his break wasn't intended on being a long one, he was going to take more time to reflect on the situation. He was still all worked up and angry about what just happened but the breathing was really helping to allow him to recollect his thoughts and feelings and focus on how to make this thing go his own way. He felt that if he could just stay calm and retaliate and react appropriately, he'd manage to actually do some damage. He was figuring it out slowly, but it was best to happen here. He was rather grateful that he had decided to do this today, it was best to learn of these flaws sooner rather than later and he still had lots of time to rectify this little issue.
Given that he was only on stage one of his grand plan to take over the PTO and the Planet, he was months away from having to worry about coming face to face with a warrior like that. Of course, the saiyan race could always attack and force his hand early but that didn't seem likely. They had been in a stalemate for so long that it almost felt like there was a peace between the two factions. Now that wasn't the case at all but something would break that stalemate soon and Arctic couldn't help but hope that it was himself and his own plans that sparked that conflict back up.
Regardless of all that, he had to get back into his training session and try to figure this out. He needed to find a way to turn this fight around and start to win. He was now calm and collected and ready to get back into the fight. He had about a fifteen minute break now and was focused once more on the situation at hand, it might've taken him a lot longer than he originally hoped for but it was going to be extremely beneficial to him. He was centred, ready and prepared to overtake this robot and push himself to the victory. He just had to be brave enough to say the words and reactive the robots fighting protocols, though no matter how this would go he was still grateful that he was here, he needed this humbling, this lesson and he needed to know where his emotions would drive him. It was time for discipline to come into play and it was time to show himself that he could dig deep when he had too against a faster opponent and take the win.
His very life was depending on it, for it was just a matter of time until he had an opponent that was so much stronger and faster than him and those fighters may be stronger than his true form, this one wasn't put at least it was preparing him for that situation. Maybe it would be the Queen or maybe it would be one of the saiyans on Earth, Arctic wasn't sure who would be first but he so badly wanted their head and so badly wanted to survive. It would be a shame for his plans to get cut short.
It was now time to get back to it, there was still a lot of a lesson to be learned and Arctic wasn't going to back down. Whether he liked the outcome of how this was going to go or not, he wasn't going to force himself into his true form, he'd remain in this first form and keep his power well restricted. This training session was far more than just trying to overpower something, this was all about harness his emotions and using them as a benefit instead of allowing them to be a weakness. It was all about perfecting the fundamentals and it was exactly what he needed. It wasn't an easy lesson to learn but he was learning it.
He was mentally prepared for what was to come now, he knew what he was up against and the pace that this thing could operate at. He didn't need to match it, he just needed to maintain a cool and calm head and stay focused on the fight. He couldn't allow himself to have a childish fit of range and completely lose all control of himself. He could do this and he knew he could, the fight just needed to get started again and he was about to make that happen. "Reactivate Robot 117." He said in his exhausted voice and once it was said, the robot would once again activate and lock onto its target and once more, it was ready to rip Arctic apart.
The robot would press Arctic rapidly again, the barrage of kicks and punches were rapid and beyond anything a normal PTO soldier could dish out. Though Arctic would remain calm this time and immediately meet it with an evenly paced offensive. He wasn't going to sit around and play pure defence this time, he was going to come right out of the gate swinging and when the two of them clashed a very equal delivery had started to happen. Not only was Arctic taking hits but he was now landing his hits, it wasn't about the power but all in his mindset. He wasn't worried about taking damage so long as he could avoid some damage and if he could dish it out while taking it, that was even better. This wasn't an opponent he could outlast in regards to stamina, so he needed to keep using his head here.
The battle would go on for quite some time and though Arctic wasn't gaining any sort of ground, he was keeping up just fine and even that had seemed impossible at the start of it all. His childish mindset had put a massive damper on what he was able to do, his anger and rage took too much of his focus on the fight and reacting and put his train of thought into simply dishing out pain as revenge.
He was now keeping a cool head and it was working out for him quite well. He found that simple taking a deep breath and focusing on his breathing was helping him quite drastically in this situation. It allowed him to focus his energy and his mindset to the point where he was in control of it and in turn, allowed him to be a much better fighter. Of course, his emotions were a flaw that wouldn't be rectified in this one little sparring session, there was a lot of different variables to bring the worst out of him but at least now he had a glimpse to the negative side of himself and an understanding on how to reel them back in when he hit that point. He knew without a doubt, they were going to hinder him in a fight if he ever reached that point so it was good to at least this level of understanding.
The fight would carry on throughout the rest of the day with Arctic taking short breaks every now in between of the endless rounds he was putting himself in. He had a lot of work to do on himself and now that he got started, he really didn't want to stop. The very future he desired was at stake and every action he didn't take to prepare himself could put the entire thing in jeopardy. He wasn't going to allow that, he wouldn't allow failure from the average soldier so he wouldn't allow failure from himself either.
The fight wouldn't stop until Arctic was too exhausted to carry on, and that wouldn't be until late in the night. Though it was a very hard session, every bit of it was beneficial to himself and to his own plans and the end result of it all was something rather amazing. Though now that he faced off against a foe that could actually press him, he wanted to work on his techniques in order to escape those types of situations a lot easier, he wanted to give himself room to breath if he needed it in a fight, so that was going to be the next training session. Though he didn't know what style of technique he would go with, it would be something he would start developing in the morning. He wanted to be well rounded and over prepared for everything and this little spar gave him a eye widening more than he ever could've expected. There was a lot more work to do on himself than he initially thought, though he was a powerful warrior in his own right, he wasn't quite ready to execute his plans and whether or not he still believed he was superior to most was irrelevant, this had to be done and there wasn't a choice in the matter. Though the only saving grace to this whole plan was the partnership with Daru. She was strong and reliable and the only other person on this planet he could actually count on. He knew that she would be an important factor in how this all went down.
