It had been several months since the incident at north city, the invasion of the saiyan empire. Perhaps a retaliation was more accurate, but Taiyo had not spent that time thinking upon the actions of those who had been there. Inside the man had spent it trying to recover his spirits, the twin swords of taiyo had been destroyed, his body had been completely wrapped in bandages. His body was ultimately healed thanks to the miracles of science today, but his chest was a complete mess of scarred tissue.
The sword monk's smile was present as he walked through the doors of the hide out, yet in his steps were hesitation to meet his boss after all this time. He had been out of commission due to his health, but he wondered if that would be acceptable to his boss. Regardless, the sword monk slowly made his way towards the office of Derry who Taiyo hadn't seen since he had been in the hospital. Taiyo had refused visitors and made sure no one was able to see him in such a sorry state.
Standing before the door, the sword monk held his hand at chest level ready to knock but instead simply standing there a moment longer. The sword monk's smile slowly disappearing... He couldn't use his swords anymore, and had lost the two spirits who had given him access to his strength... Now why should he return to the man who offered him a job for his strength? Slowly the monks hand fell down to his side as he tried to justify even approaching the man again. He guessed he just wanted to see one of his friends again after all this time.
Taiyo finally gathering his courage would knock at the door three times and awaited a response.

Within the main office of the Dirty Snakes hideout, Derry was busy running through paperwork and his future plans. After performing some risky albeit necessary political work, Derry has been able to get the ball rolling on getting the military officials that were 'responsible' for the death of May on trial, and now he just has to make sure that they receive their verdict. Once that happens, the path to presidency is practically open for him to take for himself, and he will soon be able to get what he truly wants. He has, also, been a bit concerned about the return of Liari and this new majin that she's apparently been seen around, but from the looks of it, they've disappeared for quite some time. Whether it's because they're taking some sort of vacation or terrorizing another part of the galaxy, Derrick doesn't really care so long as Earth is spared.
The boss was busy sorting through all sorts of different papers and such until he hears a knocking at his door. He wasn't exactly expecting any visitors today, nor anyone looking to make some sort of contract with him. The guards around know better than to knock on his door while he was busy, so who would come knocking? Derry gets up from his chair and makes his way over towards the twin doors, unlocking and opening the doors to find... Taiyo? The last time he saw the man, he was practically one leg in the grave after what happened back months ago, yet here he was, good as new. The doctors must've fixed him up real well, and it seems like he might be back in working condition. Derry beams a smile to Taiyo and swings the door wide open, stepping aside and stating, "Well well well, if it isn't Taiyo! How have you been? You're looking a lot better now. Come on in, I believe we have much to discuss. Perhaps a renewal to your contract now that you're back in action?"

Taiyo couldn't help but smile at Derry's warm welcome, a cheering up he didn't realize he needed. Slowly stepping inside, Taiyo took a seat nearby where he got comfortable and was already smiling his usual warm smile. He had come here with dark thoughts that his boss would look at him like useless trash, he had failed to do his duty as a bodyguard after all. But if Derry was being honest then a renewal of Taiyo's contract and a chance for him to pay off those medical bills would be amazing for the sword monk.
"I would love to come back to work... Though I will admit I am far less powerful than I was before. I missed out on a lot of training due to my physical conditions and lost both my swords... But I know of a blacksmith, heard of him in some stories I found in some old books. Some masked fellow who travels the frozen wastes of Arcose. Dunno where to look but... Supposedly this "Rune" forging titan of a man. He can repair my weapons... for a price I hear."
Taiyo wasn't sure how Derry would take this little strange tale, after all he had literally just sat down only to say such things.
"But the doctors managed to stitch me back together. A miracle really considering I was more of a charred steak than a man for a while there."
Taiyo stated holding out his arms but paused on his chest.
"Though I took most of the damage to my chest area, I think I got lucky or... well I like to think he didn't kill me on purpose rather than getting lucky. I want to believe some good is left in him."
Taiyo was talking about the crazed old man who had threatened Shade and himself. He had fought hard but was so out matched he couldn't possibly have won. But he wouldn't have made a second choice, a kid needed help and by hells he was there to the best of his abilities.

It seems like Taiyo was more than happy to receive a warm welcome from Derrick as he makes his way inside of the office, immediately moving towards the seat on one side of the desk. Derry in turn closes the door behind his employee before heading on over to the other side himself, keeping an eye on Taiyo as he does so. As Derrick takes his seat, Taiyo goes on the usual drab that the boss has heard from many other employees who were out of the job recovering, how they have missed out on their training, that they aren't as strong as they shouldn't be, how their equipment is in disrepair. He's heard it oh so commonly that he was about to ask Taiyo to speak no more as it wasn't necessary to speak of it, but... Then he continued, and then he mentioned something about having his swords reforged by this "Rune" figure.
Derrick's brow narrows as he ponders on such a name. Rune wasn't a name he was quite familiar with, which was a given since he himself isn't quite so familiar with the planet he's from. At this point, the boss probably should get to know more about these places if he's going to be taking up the leadership mantle in the near future. "Fascinating... If you do go there, be sure to report back any relevant information to me. This Rune may be of interest, trust me." The boss reaches into the drawer of his desk and pulls out a single piece of paper, starting to jot down notes on what Taiyo has been sharing as he listens to what else the swordsman may have to share regarding his recovery and what happened, recalling the time when this old man had spared him, though left him a crisp. "You're referring to that saiyan general Yangcong, correct? Well, if he had any good in him, we can't know anymore. He's dead now."

Taiyo listened to Derry speak and he simply nodded his head in agreement when the man said to bring any information to his boss. Of course he would naturally but for not the man had to get back into shape and stop slacking off. The sword monk couldn't imagine someone who forged weapons to be to hard to find. People would flock to them he suspected. But the next bit of news did make the swordsman's eyes soften, sadness clearly filling the air about him.
"I see... Well I can't say he didn't deserve it... But the man was just to mentally ill to be in a position of power. That queen really needs to do some thinking about who runs her armies... Why did they invade anyways? We lost so many lives and for what? I don't understand boss."
Taiyo had heard rumors of the queens daughter having been assassinated but he had been in a hospital room where information like that wasn't in his best health to be seeing. So the doctors had to turn the tv's off in his room, they kept shooting his blood pressure up. Taiyo remembered that moment with a bit of embarrassment but decided to NOT share everything with Derry.
