Octavia always despised the privileged and rich that abused their status and wealth as means to get ahead in life and manipulate to their pleasure. It was one of the main reasons why she birthed the Silver Veins. Corrupted figures, authorities, people with massive wealth, anyone with power, they were all enemies and were ensured to meet their fate once her faction had enough members to go public. As someone who had a childhood through materialistic items and grew up around those types of people, she's seen it all. In her vision, she was the one that could bring a utopia where everyone was equal; where suffering became nonexistent and true peace. Not just on Earth, but within the entire universe.
[break][break]
But... Octavia would be lying if she said she didn't enjoy the perks of being wealthy. After all, hate the game, not the player.
[break][break]
"That's Blackjack. Octavia wins!"
[break][break]
In her signature dress, in one hand she held a glass of wine and the other occupied by an unlit cigar trapped between her index and middle fingers. A bright and mischievous grin plastered on her lips as she bellowed out a hearty laugh, around her were people that laughed along while others groaned and jeered in disapproval. A game of Blackjack was in progress, bets were made, and Octavia was winning almost all the games.
[break][break]
"That's the fifth freaking goddamn time in a row!" A man shouted out in frustration, his hands rolled into fists and slammed them both to the table with all of his might. The table rumbled from the impact, which caused more people to laugh at his shortcomings, whereas others either turned their heads if they weren't apart of the group or flinched from the man's rage if they were. "This game is rigged!" He roared.
[break][break]
Octavia, as expected, wasn't phased from the sudden outburst. Instead, she responded to it with a knowing smirk as she turned her head to the man. "Who knows, Tobias. Maybe on your sixth try, people might actually bother to remember your name the next time they go into the ballots when election season is here." She snickered, a graceful sip taken from her glass.
[break][break]
The man's eye twitched in annoyance with a sneer as he whipped his head at Octavia's direction. "My name is Lorenzo." His voice lowered to a threatening growl. The woman, on the other hand, only smiled back in amusement; most likely entertained by how short his temper was and quick to anger. All of the better reason to beat the horse, but she had other things in mind. Better things to do.
[break][break]
"Whatever you say, George." Octavia casually waved her hand at the other man and downed the rest of her wine, the crowd around her erupting to laughter as if in cue. Before the man could even rebuttal, Octavia stood up from her seat and smoothly pivoted around to exit both from her seat and the audience that surrounded her table. "I'm going to get more to drink. I'll be right back. Feel free to continue without me." She announced.
[break][break]
She walked around the casino, her head turning and twisting in every direction her vision picked up. She eventually made it to the bar and gently placed her hand down in front of the bartender. "I'm going to need some Whiskey this time. On the rocks." She requested. The bartender nodded in understanding and turned around to collect her drink and pour it in.
[break][break]
Gambling was one of her most favorite past times and the casino was always the perfect spot to do so. However, it wasn't the rich urges telling her to surround herself with elitist pricks who viewed themselves as gods or even greater. No, she was after a target. A politician that damned what could've been an outstanding and major city from years ago. A promise for people to start over and start a new life to better themselves. Nothing but lies to gain power and respect; typical and unsurprising. His name was Joseph Smith. She gotten intel that he would frequently visit the casino with a few hefty bodyguards to keep him safe.
[break][break]
She had ways of bypassing his security and carry her plan of permanently removing him from power and more from pointlessly damning what could've achieved hope and dreams for millions. Until she could find him, she had to play along the game that is called being wealthy and blending into the luxurious lifestyle she was trained to do.
