Personality: Isla has always been a mellow demon. A cool and reserved personality, she doesn't crack under pressure (usually) and always quick on her feet. She is motherly and has a soft spot for the people around her. She held a sense of elegance and class to how she speaks, her gestures, and her overall demeanor. Her time in the Universal Syndicate of Defense made her develop a sense of professionalism extreme loyalty towards the organization. Well aware of the fact that the organization is far from perfect and exempt from criticism, she shows utmost respect for what it stands for and most of its soldiers, to the greater extent of their questionable decisions and actions.
Her mature frame of mind does not make her lack any sort of humor, which usually comes along in the form of dry and dark humor, sarcasm with wits. The frame of maturity does lower outwardly lighthearted traits such as being energetic and lively, but Isla is still capable of being fun-loving and friendly. The mask of professionalism can easily be slipped on or off at any occasion for the sacrifice of a crude joke. She knows how to lighten the mood and purposely bring it down as a trickster. Most of the time, she appears to keep up a soft smile to clear any worries.
Isla is all about adventure and living life to the fullest. She enjoys taking challenges and being bold, but such excitement can be a detriment if she isn't too considerate or careful of possible conflict and other dangers. Taking risks is what she's best known for as she always prefers to wing something instead of making a plan. Nevertheless, her time in the USD has helped her become more calculative and watchful. There are times where she stops to think of how to handle a problem and what to do to solve it.
Though Isla is no sweetheart by any means, even with a soothing voice. She lies, cheats, and steals to get whatever she wants. She knows how to sweet talk to people, make them feel good, and then strike when the moment is just right. As a soldier for the USD, she grew the ability to lie almost perfectly for the sake of a mission. Her emotions are usually detached when it comes to making bonds that could somehow benefit her whether it's business or personal. That isn't to say that she can't create a sense of friendship or something even more, but she prioritizes other means.
Isla can be amoral when it especially comes to her job. No matter what, she's there to get a job done and will do whatever it takes to do so. She has no qualms in doing despicable and something that is considered wrong to all appearances. It shows that she can be a very dishonest person and usually has no ounce of shame or guilt when caught in her lies. Naturally, Isla will eventually come around and admit her faults. Normally it may seem detached, but in reality, it's her way of being genuine, and sometimes she'll even show it.
Isla has more skeletons in her closet than she'd want to admit during her time in the USD. She keeps herself private and never overexplains herself whenever she's asked about herself. Her excuse is that she always preferred to know more about the person than the other way around. While there is some truth weighed in, the actuality is she enjoys learning other people's secrets to use it against them or use it as a leverage.
History
Demon Clan: Euphrasia
Family:
- Rome (Father)
- Fern (Mother)
- Basil (Younger Brother)
- River (Younger Sister)
History: In the literal depths of Hell, Isla is the oldest daughter of the Euphrasia Clan. The Euphrasia Clan had been considered to be one of the most powerful clans that birthed from Hell for centuries. For all the same, their glory and the legacy they've built did not go evenly without bad blood and affray in the company of other demon clans. The Euphrasia Clan was known to conquer territories of other demon clans to expand their own accompanied by two choices for enemy clans or the clans they were neutral with to pick from: surrender and serve or become nothing but a forgotten memory as the years pass since their death. As a matter of course, the fate for the majority of the clans conquered refused to bend their knees to the Euphrasia shared one thing: meeting their end.
Isla, in the face of her nature of being a demon, disapproved of what her clan has committed in the past few centuries. It was predictable to learn that Isla was someone that advocated for peace, dissimilar to her two other siblings, a younger brother and younger sister, who held pride for their clan and dreamed for their entire clan to overtake all of Hell. Their differences often sparked conflict between her and them, in addition of not just their political views, but their relationship in general. Isla's nature was soft, submissive, and nurturing, whereas her other two siblings were more fit to lead the clan.
The outcome of Isla's rather uncommon nature for a Euphrasia Clan member turned her into an outcast by her parents. To them, she had no real worth or had any value for the clan name. This naturally sparked a need for her parents' approval, to belong and, most importantly, their love. It was clear as day they loved their other children more than their oldest and her siblings saw her as weak, unfit of the clan's name. She began to train over these last couple of decades and, noticed by other fellow clan members, her overall strength improved greatly. Still and all, Isla's obsession for her clan's approval made her feel it wasn't enough.
An opportunity came up when the clan was offered an alliance with another demon clan: the Wallis Clan. To confirm their alliance, the Wallis Clan requested an arranged marriage between their eldest son and the Euphrasia's eldest daughter, Isla. This was her moment to shine and prove she could become a valuable asset to the clan. Even if her feelings for the son was absent, she viewed the situation as a chance to finally gain approval from her parents, her siblings, and the entire clan. It was her only chance to take or else she may never get the respect she desired.
Truth be told, Isla deep down couldn't do it. She didn't want to be with someone her heart never had, and especially bearing children of someone who she had little to no romantic interest with. She was about to sacrifice her happiness for family approval who couldn't care less about whether or not Isla was actually content with the arrangement. Even so, this wasn't something that she had a choice, but was still willing to do regardless as a way to win her clan over.
When the day of the marriage came, Isla refused to marry the Wallis Clan's son. Everyone was in shock, but her parents tried to force her last second to accept the son as her newly wedded husband. As a response, Isla ran away. This was seen as a betrayal and a missed possibility for a strong alliance. Isla was no longer a Euphrasia Clan member, but now a traitor to the clan. Her parents sent assassins after their oldest child for her treacherous actions.
In the heat of the moment, Isla opened a portal. She didn't know how, but a large hole appeared right in front of her. Without processing what was going on, all she could do was keep running for safety. From running into the portal, she suddenly transported into a different dimension. It was more lively, more vibrant, and had actual life all over. She had no idea where she was, but she found herself on a planet called Earth. Just hours after her surprise arrival, Isla began to wander off in confusion. Everything felt foreign to her. She was lost, but she was met with extreme relief when she succeeded in escaping from the assassins.
Isla came across a group, four people to be exact, wearing full armor with loaded guns. She initially took them for people that could aid her in her guidance on this planet, but the exact opposite happened. She was taken as a prisoner, but not without a fight. After a long series of exchanging a few shots, Isla inevitably got caught and handcuffed. She had no idea where she was being taken to or any clue of what will happen to her. The last thing she remembered was a sharp pain that rattled in her head before she passed out into unconsciousness.
Isla woke up in a bioreactor, multiple tubes connected to her. There wasn't much that was remembered except being inside of the bioreactor and a faint view of a couple of scientists in front of a monitor before she slipped back into unconsciousness. Without realizing it, Isla's memories were being manipulated, erased, and replaced with her loyalty to an organization; an organization meant to maintain peace among the universe known as the Universal Syndicate of Defense. False memories of working with other USD members were implemented and all of her memories prior to coming to Earth were removed.
Since the "conversion", Isla displayed extreme loyalty to the organization. In recent years, fragments of her original memories have been appearing in her dreams. Even so that they could just be dreams, suspicion risen when they appeared more than once.
Techniques
[ST1] Magic Materialization: Isla has the ability to create objects out of thin air. At this level, Isla can create melee weapons and ranged weapons, noticeably pistols, but she can occasionally summon a few rifles to her aid that fire bullets made of ki. Furthermore, she can use this ability to conjure barriers, shields, and walls. These items usually have a glow of dark blue ki that surrounds them.
[ST1]Meteorological Modification: Known as an alternative to ki with her use of magic, Isla has the ability to control weather in a certain area. She can manipulate rain, lightning, thunder, snow, wind currents, fog and temperature. At this level, she can control weather limited to a city.
[ST1] Flight: With the utilization of her ki, Isla can fly.
[DT1] Rise Up: Isla summons a large wall that can block an attack greater than its power, if the wall itself is more stable than the attack's power.
[DT1] Thunderous Roar: Isla summons clouds to create a powerful thunder sound, loud enough to stun those that hear it for one turn. For this to work, Isla has to have a higher power level than those that hear the sound.
[OT1] Seismic Jab: Isla uses her ki to produce shockwaves, in this case she uses it for a punch that can be used in melee range and long ranged.
Roleplay Sample
The sound of heels rapidly clicking against the rocky terrains reverberated with the addition of heavy panting. Isla's eyes were shot wide open, pupils constricted out of fear and panic. Each step made was another second of survival. Behind her that tailed her in the field were about six assassins chasing after her. All of which were armored and armed with swords and other melee weapons. "Come back here, traitor!" An assassin barked. Today was supposed to be the day Isla was supposed to be married to another powerful clan's son in order to confirm their alliance between them and her own clan. She initially assumed she could tolerate it for the sake of the alliance and the approval of her own parents, yet she knew it wasn't worth it if it meant sacrificing her own happiness and pursuing acceptance from people who only saw her value in whether she was useful in some way. When she said no and ran off, she knew her parents wouldn't go down without her head served on a platter.
One of the assassins unsheathed a dagger from his belt and drew the blade back against his side. His gaze on the target remained focused, he then flicked his hand forward and slung the dagger towards Isla, primarily aiming for her head or neck for an instant kill. Instead, Isla felt the blade scrape against her cheek and instantly instantaneously split it right open where blood began to pour from the nasty wound. Usually Isla would've most likely stagger from the impact, but her adrenaline was her savior in pushing forward and not missing a step in her sprint. The pain was barely noticed, if not ignored at all. She may not even recognized that she was injured at the moment.
While Isla kept running she extended both hands out to her sides. Both thumbs were up and index fingers were out in a slight crooked position. Just seconds later, two pistols that emitted a dark blue glow formed perfectly in positions where she was ready to shoot, fingers on the triggers. The same assassin that flung the dagger reached for another, but not before Isla quickly turned around and jumped in the air to get a clearer look at the assassins. Right there, she pulled the trigger on both guns and unleashed a storm of dark blue ki bullets on the assassins. Out of the six, two of them had their bodies sprung back and recoil from the bullets penetrating their bodies, specifically their upper bodies. The pierced bullets threw them to the ground, but four other assassins remained.
Isla stopped in her tracks and took a few deep breaths to calm down. She had to beat them, or at the minimum try to get them off her trail even if it meant killing them. It pained her to kill one of her own, but since she ran from the wedding, she was not one of them anymore. The first assassin that was closer to her shrunk the distance between him and her with his sword drawn and ready to slash. Isla quickly aimed her guns at the assassin and pulled the trigger once, bullets from both pistols fired. Expectedly, the assassin flawlessly dodged both by sidestepping with ease. When the assassin had been just inches away from her, Isla held both hands by her side as a long pole formed in between her hands.
The assassin drew his sword up in the air and slashed it down towards Isla, only for her to barely block the slash with her pole above her head. The assassin drew back is sword and aimed another brutal slash towards her right side, but was quickly blocked by Isla. In just a matter of seconds, the assassin unleashed a fury of slashes for Isla to block. As she blocked each slash, she became more confident, smooth, and technical with her movement. She followed the blade and the blade only, waiting for an opening to strike. Right there in Isla's peripheral, she noticed the assassin lifting up his right foot up for an attempt to drive it towards either her chest or stomach.
There.
When he lifted his foot up, Isla took the opportunity to swipe the pole against the assassin's other leg. She failed to trip him, but instead wiggled to try and find his balance. Close enough, Isla would've thought. She took the opportunity to draw her pole back and drive it against the assassin's face and create a thunderous CRACK that immediately broken his nose. Without another moment to spare, she rose her pole above her head and began slinging it at his head, hips, and the side of his torso. As the final hit, she slammed the pole against his side and started to spin around with the assassin still on the pole, taking him along in the spin.
The second assassin caught up with the first and Isla, but just after her back was already turned to him, she came back full circle and launched the first assassin right at the other with full force. The harsh contact evolved into a ruthless collision that sent both assassins back a couple meters how much force was put into her swing. Two down, two more to go.
The third assassin was swift as he was already close to Isla with a fist drawn back and shoved at her face. Isla's weaved to the left as she began to dodge nearly all of his strikes with dexterity. The assassin finally made damage as his fist connected with Isla's chin with a straight uppercut. From the clash, it caused her to stumble back. Quick thinking and considering the distance she had between her and the assassin, she pushed out her right leg and turned the stumble into a flip. The top of her foot landed right against his chin, ensuing the stagger he experienced. The pole still in her hand while she flipped, the top of it grew a sharp blade. Towards her landing when she faced the stunned assassin, she catapulted the sharp pole arm towards the assassin's neck. The sharp blade easily pierced through his armor and right through his skin. A ghastly gargle could be heard as the assassin choked on his own blood on the way down to the ground.
The last assassin took no time to rush at Isla, but she stood her ground. At the last second, a dark blue pistol generated in her hand and quickly aimed it at the lower half of the assassin's body. She quickly pulled the trigger to shoot at his kneecaps, causing him to instantly stumble onto the ground.
Without another word or look at the fallen assassins, Isla turned around and continued to run in case more of them were after her.
