How long had it been since Kamae had trained? How many eons had it been since he had resorted to actually physically exerting oneself to grow stronger? It had only been in the beginning of his journey when he had been trying to acquire the Husk's form, and now he owned it.. Now he was a full fledged primordial demon... But that didn't make him invincible. He was not afforded any more luxuries than before, and this time he was considerably weaker than his opponents.
The demon stood in hell currently, before him a clay doll he had constructed. It was the perfect specimen, a copy of a void like being. No different than a machine, it possessed no will to complain or even be self aware. Kamae simply sighing as he got ready... There had always been a soul Kamae had carried with him, or rather... a memory that was given life. As such... Such a time was now to experience it. Eons had prepared him for this moment, and he had reached the moment when it was necessary.
As the doll came to begin moving, Kamae felt a smile form on his lips. He was weaker than he use to be, and he was around the level his foe had been before... but both of them had cheated to win. Karna... The hero who had original banished him to space where he roamed for eight thousand years... During that time experiencing the collapse of numerous civilizations... He had returned only to discover Karna had long since perished, and taking his soul was no small feat before he left.
But now... Holding out his palm, the demon watched as a small flame with an ethereal goal formed. There it glowed and the demon's eyes softened... He could not resurrect Karna, he couldn't give the boy life again... But he could do something better. Slowly reaching out, the demon pressed his palm to the clay device... The device shuttering only to begin taking on the form of a young man. The young man's eyes opening slowly as his blue sapphires for eyes processed the world.
When the clay figure locked eyes with him, there was a tense moment when both said nothing. The two staring at one another before finally a spear formed in the boy's hand and immediately thrust it at Kamae's throat. The blade narrowly missing as strands of green hair drifted to the ground. The two still staring at one another even as he kept his spear right where it was.
"Sankishin... You should have stayed dead..."
Kamae would simply smile as he knew Karna immediately saw through his disguise or any shape of hiding. His ability to see Kamae's true self was terrifying, but unfortunately it would serve no purpose here.
"You died Karna..."
"I am aware... I watched your body for eons... until I succumbed to a poison."
Kamae would raise a brow at this, the hero removing his spear only to look at his hand, his dark skin showing off his golden jewelry well. His teal robes concealed his toned figure and despite his slim appearance, he packed power. Kamae's eyes half lidded as he looked the hero up and down. He was indeed Karna... they had shared a long storied journey together. A heroes journey that Kamae had orchestrated to get access to his god like body. Now he was complete, Karna was in a perfect body for combat and in better shape than ever before... The two eons old enemies staring each other down.
"So Kamae... how long have I been dead?"
Karna asked, staring his arch nemesis in the eyes, the two hated each other but... their time in the sun had long faded. Their old rivalry had died when their people had died. No longer did they matter to the universe, and it was the way they went about this that made them so different. Kamae knew this to be true, and yet he could not help who he was as much as Karna could not be anymore like his opposite.
"This isn't the same universe, or even the same realm of creation... We are..."
"Foreigners in a foreign land... Invaders."
Karna stated, his eyes looking about hell in that moment. He knew in his heart of hearts he was never going to be able to return home, and so with no other option... the two knew why Kamae had done this.
"You wish to see if I was right... if you were right... To end our debate?"
Karna then looked the demon in the eyes, the two staring each other down. Kamae's eyes would downcast then, chuckling in both defeat and shame.
"When we fought eons ago... I believed us to be the peak, the top... Nothing could surpass our battle. Gods I thought... But now I see the road is far longer than I imagined... I am tired."
Kamae stated, staring at the ground before Karna... The hero taking his measure for a long time, his spear planted in the ground by his feat. The sapphire eyes of Karna watching his eons old foe carefully. If he thought ill or good thoughts, it was an enigma to even Kamae who could read people easily. But Karna was something else completely... he embodied the very idea of a hero. Selfless, honest, hard working, and deeply caring for those about him. Kamae was his opposite of the world, the dark... Yet he too was once mortal. He felt the same passions as they did, and felt their sorrows too.
"Even should I win... I cannot possibly take your place... No you wish to see if our battle will keep the past where it belongs. You put much faith on this fight."
Karna stated, once more examining his body. Kamae knew deep down Karna was a genius at fighting, just as kamae was a genius in science. Perhaps if Kamae had been reincarnated, he would have been an excellent ally for Karna... yet the two would never see that day. For today was the end.
"Aye... I have given you full knowledge of my abilities... of what I am and even thrown something special in for you... To make it fair."
Kamae had done all he could to give Karna a fair chance to kill him... Their eons old battle would not be decided by him having eons of more lives to live than his foe. No... their fight had started a long time ago... In unison the pair spoke their words, both knowing what the other felt and knew. Kamae had made it fair.
"We started this... Let us End it."
With that Karna was the first to strike, his blade thrusting forward but stopping mere Inches from Kamae's face. The spear's tip violently moving, attempting to push forward only to find it could go no further. Then Karna saw it, the silver lines of the wires.
"Tiamat!"
The demon then twisting his hand around the base of the spear, yanking it upwards along with Karna. The boy caught mid air was surprised at first, but soon regained his composure. Twisting his body just right along the spear by using his arm strength, the boy narrowly missing being segmented by the razor wire now wrapped around the butt of the spear. Karna would then wrap his legs around Kamae's neck, nearly suffocating Kamae as he then brought his hands down in an effort to break kamae's neck. Just as his fingers brushed Kamae's forehead however, his keen eyes noticed just in time. His head snapping back and blood sputtering into the air.
Karna flipping back from Kamae to let the demon cough. He had forgotten he was fighting an opponent who did not hold back on the mind... he was every bit as smart as Kamae was... Spitting on the ground, the demon put his hands at his side. The wires in his gloves flowing out and searching for a target almost like antenna for a bug. Kamae staring his opponent down. Karna was the first to break the silence surprisingly.
"Kamae... I am your equal in might, intelligence and cunning... You will not earn an easy victory... You will die here today, win or lose... You will not survive."
Though it was cryptic, Kamae simply stored those words away. They were just that in this moment, words... Words that meant nothing as he felt the dark flowing through his veins. His narrowing his eyes, kamae snapped his fingers as numerous spells formed around Karna. Spears of all different shapes and sizes hovering around him. Then they came down in a barrage of fury, hell bent on spearing the boy through all angles. However Karna's own spear began spinning rapidly and with careful skill. Karna dodged the first batch only to have more begin to form at different angles.
Karna began deflecting the blows with ease, his spinning spear throwing them harmlessly to the ground where they disappeared in black particles. Kamae gritted his teeth before snapping his fingers again. A black sun forming over top of Karna to which karna simply planted his spear into the ground to regain his balance. From there the hero thrust his spear into the sky, pointing it towards the black sun.
The spear then launching its own attack, a powerful beam that pierced the flames. Kamae's surprise was evident as the giant beam then solidified into a giant saber. Kamae bringing up his hands before him as two large shields of ebony black primordial magic formed, the saber slamming repeatedly against his defenses as sparks flew. Kamae cursing as he continued to deflect, now on the defensive thanks to karna's new toy.
This would not last, Kamae deflecting a blow with his right shield only to then spin it against the blade just right as he threw it. The deflection and the spin creating a disk of cutting dark energy. The disk flying at Karna, the hero surprised for a moment only to retract his power and block with the spear. The saber of energy dispersing into particles of red which showered the area. Kamae using it as cover quickly jumped high into the sky here he would grit his teeth hard enough to draw blood.
Pulling an arm back at the same time, a large spear would form. His own spear, the spear of Bael, and the sister to the one Karna owned. Yet Kamae's reflected the dark and twisted heart he held, one of selfishness and greed. Its bony edge hiding a poison to all things of the light of creation. His arm bulking up a moment, veins appearing in his forehead despite his calm look. He did not smile, he did not look angry. No he was focused on killing his target as quickly as possible. They would bubble down their instincts to this moment.
As Kamae threw the spear, Karna seemed to take its place, appearing directly in front of him. The boy's expression a mirror image of Kamae's, both acting on pure instinct to kill one another. Karna's legs drawn up under him as he held his spear out to the side, both hands gripping the blade as his killers intent was reflected in Kamae's eyes. The demon quickly yanking his own head back to avoid being decapitated by his opponent who swung with enough force to cut the rocks behind Kamae.
The demon flipping back to land on the ground, both of them taking their stances once more upon the ground... But Kamae's face soon turned to disgust... He looked to the ground before then back to his nemesis.
"We shall walk no longer... We are beyond such things..."
Kamae had forgotten how to fly when he was between realms... but no more would he walk like a peasant. No he would walk like he was meant to... as a GOD! As he made his declaration, kamae would slowly begin to levitate before looking to Karna who also shared the same look. Both then racing into the sky, the spear of Bael racing after them only to intercept Karna as he rushed to strike Kamae mid air.
The demon grabbing his blade, then the two began exchanging blow after blow, spear striking spear. The sounds of their battle echoing through the air. A fitting place, hell where they both belonged. Karna to keep Kamae in check always. His eternal Guardian he realized, his eternal prisoner. The two would separate mid flight, coming to a stop with plenty of distance between each other. They said nothing, panting slightly from the fight so far.
But Kamae was not finished, he would learn so much more in the coming fight. He knew, he would need every single one of his past senses to win. Karna said nothing, simply watching his opponent as they shared a moment to think. Kamae knew that Karna would anticipate any of his spells... what did he have that he could be inventive with now? His breathing in his ears made it difficult to think clearly. It was made even harder as Karna attempted to skewer him on the end of his spear, the demon dodging out of the way just in time.
Karna flew past but then turned only to summon a wall of spears of his own. A vast arsenal of weapons that Kamae recognized as the siblings to his Tiamat wires. His wires were modeled after that original weapon he used, but in that glorious line of weapons Kamae could see his glove. The demon's eyes narrowing as he got ready for the attack, yet it wasn't till they began their assault Kamae realized just how fast they were.
Karna throwing his arsenal at his foe then twirled his spear about only to throw it last. The spear arching through the air as kamae was busy dodging all the arsenals, however as the spear came into view, Kamae was not prepared for it. The spear jamming itself into his arm before hurling the demon out of the sky, the arsenal chasing after in its golden rays of light. Karna waited patiently as the demon slammed into the ground only for the arsenals to follow suit. The resulting explosion obscuring all that transpired but leaving a giant fire ball in its place.
Sighed as he powered down, holding out his hand so that his spear would return. Once it did, the man looked to the end of it where he spotted black ooze. A sign he had indeed hit his target and it was indeed Kamae down there. Flicking the blood from his spear, Karna waited patiently to see the results of his attack.
"I'm sorry it came to this Kamae but-"
Karna was suddenly interrupted by the smoke clearing revealing Kamae who was dusting himself off. An empty syringe on the ground as he looked up to Karna with a smirk.
"I am sorry too."
Kamae stated sarcastically, finishing up dusting himself and chuckling before holding before him a golden object. Karna's eyes went wide as he realized Kamae had stolen Tiamat, the true tiamat. The demon simply sliding them onto his hands after disposing of his own. The gloves he created bursting into black flames as he adorned his weapon of choice. The one he had used in their final confrontation and... The weapon he had specifically crafted using a certain kings soul.
Sliding it onto his hand was like putting right the universe. Holding out his right hand, A barrage of wires would emit from his palm as if tendrils seeking to tear apart anything they can. In his left hand was the spear of Bael, the bony spear that had been crafted from the very marrow of the thigh bone of the husk. They were the marrow of life, and each reflected their masters perfectly.
Karna finally steeled himself as he prepared to unleash a powerful sun attack. The massive sun hovering in the air menacingly, with karna beneath it staring impassively. The battle was far from over.
