The mountain of Paozu was not what Sobi thought it would be... She has assumed there would be a ton of people... but she didn't find anyone. She didn't know where she was going but was glad she didn't get fruit thrown at her anymore. Slumping against a tree, Sobi stared up into the sky... How could it all have ended up like this...? Her whole town had thrown her out... Sankishin had saved her but left her with no further guidance beyond "Learn and tell me what you find."
"What does that even mean? Where do I go?"
Sobi asked no one in particular, eyes slowly beginning to drift shut while she thought over the moment. But unfortunately for her sleep had more pressing business with the girl. Her mind dreaming of the day her hand had been taken by Sankishin and then with a simple prick of her skin had he saved her... Giving her only a few minutes of his time before leaving... Her hands stretching out to grasp his back only for his figure to turn to smoke... She would awaken with a start.
Yes... She had to keep going, she had to find this Sankishin! But Where?! Tears welled up in her eyes at the frustrations she felt. She was lost, hungry, confused and very lonely. Her sobs rocking her body while she curled up into a ball, knees drawn to her face while she cried into her crossed arms. She didn't know what to do...

Very early in the morning Ayu was allowed to get back into the familiar area of the East Continent. Not that Dende grounded her or anything, she knew that the Guardian didn't feel right about her venturing on her own. Things usually would happen then... Bad things. But what was wrong with some herb-picking session? With her trusted basket full of notes, jars, and other useful stuff, she put on a thick cloak. The weather was tricky and Ayu decided to spend the whole day here. She couldn't remember when was the last time she decided to collect some herbs - just for the peace of her mind. If she could make them with her Ki looking for healing plants in the mountains was losing its meaning but Ayu very much enjoyed the walk. And she needed time to think, just on her own...
Or maybe not? It seemed that fate had something else planned for her today and Ayu felt obligated to go along with it.
Because she heard it. A loud, pained sobbing, the faint echo slowly resonating through the area nearby. Stopping in her tracks Ayu raised her head, focusing on the sound that made her heart hurt... In the quiet forest, it was unusual to hear something like that. It took but a moment and then she felt this energy, a presence so frail that she started to fear it will fade away at any given moment now. There was someone out there - guided by the whisper of trees and the Ki she sensed, Ayu hastened her steps in that very direction. Soon enough she slowed down because she reached the spot where she saw a heartbreaking scene. Under the shade of a tree, a small silhouette was trembling, sobbing so much that her body was shivering. Ayu saw a girl with a skin hue reminding her of coffee with milk, and light blonde yet disheveled hair - and face wet from tears. Maybe it wasn't so weird but she was reminded of how many times she herself was wandering through the forest, crying her heart out through the sleepless nights. There were times when she was in pain and wished to see someone, anyone but no one ever came so... It wouldn't be of any good if she would stand there idly, would it?
"Excuse me..." she finally spoke in a soft tone, trying not to raise her voice too much to not startle a visibly distressed girl. No matter what happened it was hard to turn away from this sight because the energy, albeit weak, gave of confusion, faint hope, and pain. It was hard to think about what this poor thing went through. Ayu quietly placed her full basket on the ground and started untying her cloak. The heavy fabric slipped from her back and she held it over her arm. She walked up to the curled stranger with both hands up, showing that she didn't have any ill intentions. As Ayu got close enough, she got down on one knee, gently covering the girl's shoulders with her warm cape. "Are you lost..?" she asked with a kind, concerned tone, carefully tying the ribbon of the mantle so the girl could wrap the fabric around herself. Maybe the season was changing but the weather at this hour could be insidious and her body seemed chilled. The tree she was sitting under told her that the presence here stayed next to its roots for long enough to get cold. She couldn't have it, could she?
Sitting down on the grass in front of her, she could now spot more details. The feathers and unkempt hair, the worn-out clothes and stains of dirt here and there. Her small face had tears smeared all over so Ayu reached into her pocket and handed her a handkerchief. She was also very thin... No doubt that her energy felt so frail, the girl indeed was weak. What was she doing all alone here, in the middle of the wilderness right by the foot of the mountain? This place was full of beasts and dinosaurs - though maybe it wasn't as dangerous as before, granted that the Saiyans were hunting down wild game for their meals. But for someone of the constitution as delicate as her, being here on her own was already risky enough. They should find a safer spot soon, and Ayu needed to make sure that this one would get back home safe and sound.
"I'm sorry if I startled you... I'm Ayu," she placed her hand on her chest and smiled warmly. "What's your name..?"

Sobi heard someone speak up as she sobbed, the girls eyes turning to see someone new. At first she was stunned into silence, her eyes taking in the person to show her kindness. At first she thought it was Sankishin, her eye widening. However when she realized she wasn't looking at her savior, her expression took on a defeated look. Someone else had saved her this time... How... How could it have come to this? Lowering her gaze, she felt stupid for having gotten her hopes up.
When Ayu introduced herself the girl paused only a moment before coming to a sort of realization. Looking at the woman's hair, Sobi remembered that the man who had saved her had similar hair!
"M-My name is Sobi, Sobi Udon!"
She stated, clinging to the woman desperately, tears in her eye as a pleading look filled her face.
"H-Have you seen a man? His n-name is Sankishin! He saved me, but... but I don't know where he was. I didn't get to say thank you. Please, if you know where he is tell me please. please.... please... I'm so lonely... I'm sorry... I'm sorry I got sick... momma... Dad... please..."
Sobi would break down finally, unable to help herself as she wailed her despair into the first person she could see. She didn't understand why this was happening. What did she do to deserve this? Was she an evil person in her last life? Was she some cursed creature? The twenty year old girl clutched at Ayu tightly, but her weak grip was barely holding on. Her face buried in cloth, she simply wailed her despair. She hurt inside and out, she didn't want this anymore. This stupid journey, this stupid sickness... she just wanted to live normally...

There was something unusual about this reaction. Ayu felt like she wasn't the one Sobi expected or hoped for and in a way like her presence wasn't... Important enough? The way her face dropped when she got a good look at her face told her enough. Though it didn't matter. She needed help and Ayu wanted to give as much as she could - she wasn't doing it for approval or gratitude. Just leaving her here would be cruel, and her heart was cracking at the sole thought of walking away from Sobi. And yet... Something has caught the girl's attention. She reached out to her so desperately asking about a man she never heard of before. And she gazed at her with hope so intense in tear-filled eyes it was hard to admit that she didn't know anything.
"I'm sorry, I am n-not familiar with him..." she said but Ayu wasn't sure if Sobi was able to hear her. The girl's heartbreaking sobbing turned into even more pained weeping when she broke into tears again. Calling her mother, and father, apologizing and begging... That would be enough to shake any person who had even a shred of decency. What else should she do when someone clung to her so desperately, shaken by tears and despair? Ayu softly wrapped her arms around Sobi, resting her trembling head on her chest. "I'm sure he knows that you're grateful," she assured her, fondly brushing away a strand of blonde hair from her face. Lightly stroking Sobi's head and back, she held her, letting all those emotions loose... It was better to cry it all out than to hold everything inside until one would break. She knew it from experience. Ayu did not wish to hush or silence the girl because the pain she felt was real - and it needed to be heard. Even if the only witnesses to her sorrow would be her and the silent woods of Mountain Paozu.
Then, with her hand slowly stroking Sobi's back, Ayu was able to fully sense her presence. And it made her eyes narrow with a feeling of concern growing stronger. Under her fingertips her energy slowly resonated, giving off a very faint aura of something... Irregular and unwell. Just what it was? The girl's body was weak and sick. Was it this illness she was crying about..? She couldn't pinpoint where and why something in her body has caused her organism to be so frail but she didn't like it one bit. Especially because Ayu couldn't tell what it was, and that reminded her of her own state. Or at least about the first month when she was growing weaker, full of fear, not knowing what was happening to her... And that excess of energy, this unholy amalgamation of Ki and magic that was fueling her power, was always growing, always putting a painful strain on her body. In a way, Sobi's situation reminded her of her own. Ayu gently read her signature, reaching one conclusion - something definitely weakened her to the point that she got sick like that. Maybe if her body was a little stronger then it could withstand whatever was going on inside her soul and energy. Her expression softened.
Ayu's fingertips lit up with a soft glow. The warmth seeped from her hands gently, slowly, as she focused on healing and mending the fatigued body. With her eyes closed, she concentrated on the Ki circulating through Sobi's like a second bloodstream, making sure that the whole process was harmless and delicate so as to not cause any discomfort. Poor thing was through enough already and the last thing she would want was to bring her more distress. Though the healing method wasn't easy - Ayu frowned a little, and a drop of sweat formed above her brow. There simply was so much to heal that it was unbelievable to think that one's body could be so frail... But she wasn't going to stop until Ayu was sure that the girl weeping in her arms was healed - as much as it was possible in the current situation.

At first Sobi said nothing, allowing her sorrow to pour from her only remaining eye. She sobbed continuously until finally she felt the healing warmth spreading through her. The throbbing of her feet had disappeared, the burning of the cuts from dirt in her wounds, the stinking of her cheek from crying so much. Her hands returned to their normal soft glow and the girl's sobs were silenced as she felt her healing powers take effect. The girl leaned back from the woman with surprise, unsure how to respond before throwing her arms around the woman.
"YOU ARE LIKE HIM! I knew it! Are all of you like this? Green hair and funny eye color? its pretty! I am sorry! Its not funny that was mean..."
Sobi stated, recoiling back as she asked about the features of the woman. She seemed so nice, and so sweet. But Sobi didn't want to offend her goddess or god. Bowing down, the girl placing her forehead to the ground and palms by her head, the girl took up the praying stance that her village always took when praying to a deity.
"Thank you for healing me. I am sorry, I didn't realize you were like him."
Sobi stated but ultimately did not raise her head, instead keeping her face to the ground while she waited for Ayu to speak. To her, who lived in a highly religious village, she had discovered new deities to worship. She believed Sankishin and this new person to be of the same clan. How could she not? Both had similar hair, similar eyes and were healers! She couldn't wait to bring them back to her people and show them this discovery.
She had wondered so long, and hurt so badly. Now she was here with her new goddess, and surely they could find more of their kind~!

She was so glad it worked. Since what happened in South City Ayu hasn't got a chance to use her healing ability. Not that she wished to have an actual need to restore the health of anyone if that would mean putting them in danger first to have some practice... Ugh, that thought was awful enough on its own. Still, truth was that since the Heal backfired when she was trying to save Callion, she wasn't so sure about this ability. Ayu practiced, and it all looked well, so maybe once her energy was running haywire she couldn't use it as she intended. That seemed the most reasonable... So it was alright to use this technique when she was in control, though there still was uneasiness creeping in, dark thoughts knocking inside Ayu's mind to let the doubt in. But she wasn't going to be defeated so easily.
Seeing Sobi's poor state, both emotional and physical, she couldn't stay indifferent - she had to try. The relief she felt when Ayu noticed her body getting better was immeasurable... It worked. The light-haired girl leaned back to look at her in shock and she couldn't help but give her a comforting smile, catching her right back into her embrace when she threw her arms around her. Her heart felt like it was growing.
"I'm so glad you're feeling better," Ayu said warmly and chuckled, gently stroking the girl's soft hair as she embraced her in a hug full of gratitude. It felt good to see her so happy and full of life instead of tears and misery. Yet, she wasn't fully satisfied, something still felt off in her life signature but Ayu couldn't quite tell what. She should give it a more careful look - so far she was just pleased that Sobi wasn't in pain anymore. So glad the blonde girl was that she started to talk out loud about how she was similar to that man... Was there someone like that in this world? Then she got worried that her words were too straightforward. "Don't worry, it wasn't mean in a-" Ayu tried to ease the misunderstanding when she heard that Sobi was worried about being rude, but she stopped her words suddenly. Her warm, glad expression turned first into pure confusion that then betrayed her embarrassment and dread. Because the girl she just helped so naturally fell on her knees and bowed her head, hiding her face in a posture full of devotion and subjection. That was enough to make her worry again.
Ayu's face flushed with a nervous blush as she kneeled next to the girl, stroking her back softly. Something hurt her chest when she looked at her. Did she scare her with this ability? Or was her patient thinking that it was the only way of showing proper gratitude by lowering herself in front of her like that? Ayu didn't like that - she wanted Sobi to feel more comfortable rather than showing this... Worship? She didn't deserve it. Yes, she had some special abilities but that was only that. She wasn't that different than her, with her worries and anxieties...
"P-Please, d-don't bow in front of me," she asked all flustered, trying to gently raise Sobi's arms so she could gaze at her face. She wasn't so pale anymore, that was good... And there were no more shivers. "Sobi, can you look at me? Please? I think there's a misunderstanding. I don't know anyone else who has green hair and unusual eyes like me, I never met the person you asked me about..." Ayu took a deep breath and reached for Sobi's hands, holding them in her palms gently. It was a very weird and uncomfortable situation. Whoever she was getting mixed with, helped this girl so much to the point she felt overwhelming devotion towards him... And the similarity of their appearances was making it harder to explain everything. Was there actually a person that looked like hair in some aspects? It wasn't impossible. "At least, I don't know if I have met him. Could you please tell me more about Sankishin? Maybe I know anything but can't recall it. And please, you don't have to lower your face like that... You're a pretty girl, there's no reason to hide, alright?" She said with a warm, motherly-like tone, looking at her with care.
The first thing she wanted to do was to make sure that Sobi was safe and relaxed, then she could start pondering about details. Who she was, why she was here, who she needed to find... The most pressing matter was, why was a person as weak and frail as her, out here in the woods alone?

Having received a hug from the woman had only made Sobi's eyes well up with tears as a warm fuzzy feeling came crashing into her. Years of cold machinery, with needles flashed before the girl's eyes as she remembered the last time she was hugged... The cold grip the metal clamps followed by searing pain in her lower spine... That was her love, a machine built to harvest her like a product... The warmth that radiated within sobi almost made her wail in tears, not from pain but pure joy of another person's warmth. She put her arms around Ayu, silently letting the hug take center stage in that moment, before pulling herself free and looking at Sobi as instructed.
"Thank you for the hug miss Ayu..."
Sobi said happily while continuing to listen. When Ayu asked about Sankishin the girl's gaze fell to the ground as she curled up into a ball once more.
"He is very tall, he wears a lot of black... Um... He had funny eyes and his mouth had lots of teeth. He looked really really scary but he had a warmth in his eyes when he came for me. He set me free, took care of me, nurtured me back to health before setting me out into the world."
Sobi said before huffing as she remembered the moment of her freedom till the moment he simply healed her with an injection. She didn't know what he had put inside her, but it stopped her body from crumbling to dust... If Ayu could see souls, she would see that Sobi's was faint, almost completely gone. It was as if she was barely existing, yet on the surface she seemed perfectly fine... Yet unfortunately the girl was very very sick. She was dying a very slow death and it wouldn't be long before she passed, yet no one who could not see the soul would know she was dying. Not even she was aware of it. It was clear whoever healed her had done an immaculate job but the job was not yet finished...
"He said to me 'Sobi, go out into the world, see it and learn... live then return to me to tell me of your story.' but I haven't found any stories or books he might like..."
Sobi pouted slightly as she tried to consider what sort of story a man like sankishin, someone she had never met before in length, would like. Immaturity was evident, she wasn't thinking this whole thing through, and it was also clear she was content to go on like this till she found her savior.
"But thats ok, I'll figure it out."
Sobi didn't want to bother miss Ayu anymore, and slowly rising to her feet, she dusted her black pinafore dress off. and looked Ayu in the eyes with a smile.
"I have been healed by you and given a hug... if I had anything to give you I would. I am sorry miss Ayu."
Sobi's words were laced with guilt, she felt bad she couldn't help Ayu back and make her happy too. It was embarrassing however to think she thought this lady was Sanishin's sibling.
"Sorry... about mixing you up with Sankishin early..."
That familiar backing down, the girl clearly not trying to bother her new acquaintance more than need be

The more Ayu listened to Sobi, the more she was beginning to have doubts. Of course, there was no way she could hesitate when she heard the poor soul speaking - the honesty falling from her lips was coming from the heart. Just... The whole situation was a bit offputting. It simply raised more concerns. How could someone set Sobi out into the world when this girl was so frail and delicate..? With every gentle stroke on her back, Ayu could feel the thin skin and lacking muscles. And trembling. Her conscience was held tight by empathy and worry - at that sight in general. Just how... Even if it was something akin to an attempt to help someone learn to swim by pushing them into deep water, it felt like too much. Alone, on her own, in this world? Ayu knew very well how one's mind could affect physical abilities and she understood the anxiety too well. Add to that weak body and the green-skinned woman clearly heard the voice within saying that it was far from right. Maybe Ayu understood too little to give judgment, though it wouldn't be enough to stop her from acting.
Sobi needed care. There was that sensation deep in her body, weaved through weakened bones, burned into the flesh and melancholic soul. How could Ayu describe it? She knew that she healed her and yet, she couldn't heal Sobi completely. It felt like the young woman in front of her was a leaking vessel, life energy running out through the cracks no matter how much she poured inside - as if the Ki itself wasn't, hmm... Absorbed? Attaching? Strengthening her..? It wasn't an issue with her Healing technique. Ayu thought so not due to selfishness, but because the concerns, like shadows, only started to grow. The world of fighters, other races, Ki, and magic wasn't that new to her now and yet there was so much for her to learn. Surely Dende would know about this unnatural ailment that weakened both body and life energy, right? She needed to borrow his wisdom.
Ayu made sure that the cloak was staying neatly wrapped around the girl, keeping her warm. She sat by Sobi, stroking her back gently, trying to take at once this flood of information. Slowly wrapping one arm around her, she helped her rest her cheek on her shoulder, supporting her side. Gods only know what she had to endure before their meeting. Even with everything Ayu heard, she could understand that Sankishin was very important to this girl and that, perhaps, he wasn't of typical, mortal origins. And his lack of presence seemed to hurt her more than the physical pain, huh... That thought, as sharp as a needle, pricked Ayu's chest. She knew that feeling too, didn't she? Wherever they were, she hoped they were safe - as much as it was possible.
"If I may say so," she softly interrupted Sobi's pouting, brushing away a lock of hair from the girl's face. "I think when he mentioned stories and learning, he didn't mean books, not literally." Her gaze slipped for a moment at the sky and the line of dark trees around them. "I think, and pardon me because it's just a guess - that he'd like to hear from you your stories. Your own." She waited for a moment, giving her just enough time to ponder about Ayu's suggestion. "What places have you seen, what tales have you heard, what people have you met. Everything," a warm smile curled her lips softly. Huh, that felt a bit odd as Sobi couldn't be that much younger than her, and yet... Well, when undergoing her first transformation Ayu's body wasn't the only thing that grew more mature. "I think, he wanted you to live so you could convey to him everything you experienced on your own."
She had a hunch. Maybe there still was doubt and a sense of uneasiness about this Sankishin person, yet Ayu felt, that perhaps, he meant it that way. That Sobi should grow as a person by learning how to live in every way possible - maybe even the hard way. That made her chest raise in a soft sigh.
Something about this girl reminded her of a delicate young bird, and thus, she needed to treat her as such. Carefully and softly.
"No, I don't need you to repay me, though..." Ayu smiled a little again. "A hug in return would be nice, wouldn't it?" She raised her other arm, welcoming Sobi into another embrace as a sneaky means to keep her warmer, and once in a while transfer a bit of her Ki. Just to support her body, just in case. How frail she was even..? Ayu's eyes remained warm and calm, yet the worry was settling in. "It's alright, it's no one's fault that we seem to look alike. I'm sure that when you'd meet him you could tell him all about our encounter today." And if that day arrives, Ayu would like to have a word with him too. Not in a malicious way, simply to ask about his reasoning behind all this. Yet, races and cultures were so different, as much as people's minds and sometimes... Sometimes not understanding the core values could lead to worldviews clashing. Wasn't that right, Liari..?
"Can you tell me, do you have a place to stay Sobi?" Finally asking the most important question, Ayu wondered about it. The forest was thick, the nearest settlement quite far away too...

Sobi lowered her gaze at Ayu's words, the words resonating deep within the girl as she listened. Sobi's expression was more of one coming to a calm realization of meaning, the girl was immature for a 21 year old woman, acting in a cute manner despite her age. But it was clear her naivety was only a symptom of her isolation she had mentioned. As the tiny girl let her gaze drift she said nothing else as the woman continued to speak, trying to wrestle with the notion that someone would want to know the boring stuff of life... But it wasn't boring to Sobi. She found it wonderful, and it sounded so nice to hear nature again!
So was he truly wanting her that stuff? What Ayu said held a heavy weight behind it, one sobi couldn't quite understand fully as she bit her bottom lip in thought.
"That stuff is boring though... He wouldn't want to hear about birds and stuff.. He seemed all dark and spooky."
She felt unconvinced of the truth in Ayu's words, after all her savior was a demonic looking individual no one else had seen, but the reality was the woman had easily seen the true meaning behind the simple message.
"I would really like a hug now..."
Sobi stated as she leaned in for a hug, leaning against Ayu while she gazed off thinking. The world was a heavy place, filled with violence and monsters... That seemed more interest for her savior but... She also didn't like those things. They were to much for her and she continued to wrestle with the notion internally while she let her head rest on Ayu's shoulder, the ki soothing the girls aches and pains. Soon Sobi melted into a relaxed rest as she said nothing for the longest time. So lost in her own thoughts, her earlier fatigue had been washed away by the healing and Ayu had done an absolute immaculate job stitching her wounds. She felt better than she had ever before, but her weakness persisted and could be felt by Ayu's magic (if wanted or consented) that she was weak.
Not physically but the very force of life that drove her was feeble, barely any ki existed within her tiny frame and Enough to sustain a life but not much else. She closed her eyes as she considered falling asleep.
"Miss Ayu... Thank you..."
Sobi's eyes cast to the ground as she spoke her gratitude, trying to understand why people helped her.
"Why did you help me?"
Her thoughts were now turned to the woman's reasoning, not that she suspected Ayu but rather wished to grasp that thought. She couldn't come to a decision with the stories she would tell Sankishin when she saw him, but she was sure she might understand some day with friends.

This individual that Sobi spoke of, Sankishin, was quite elusive. Ayu couldn't even begin to find a rhyme or reason in the thoughts behind Sobi's situation - but then again, who was she to judge? She didn't know the whole story, and couldn't guess the emotions and grounds that led to this decision. Considering what she was aware of, leaving Sobi alone and in that state could have been not only unwise but simply cruel. And yet, as she learned not so long ago, on her own skin, people's views on worlds were very different. So miscellaneous that what's for one person was black, the other saw in pure white - not to mention all the shades of greys in-betweens. Though where in this scale was a thing that was simply wrong? Because Ayu's conscience was pretty confidently telling her that once she started taking care of someone, she had to keep doing so until they could take care of themself. Leaving a person in need alone was out of the question. If she would ever have a chance to meet this mysterious person, she wanted to ask Sankishin about a few things...
"Who knows?" She softly replied to Sobi's concerns. "Maybe he would find something interesting in things others would deem boring?" After all, if he was, hmm... Dark and spooky, he might have been a demon. Or a wizard. Or perhaps a very original person with a unique taste in clothing. "Give it time. You haven't seen much yet, have you? Sometimes you encounter and see amazing things when you least expect it." Ayu stroked her back. "I know I did," she smiled, trying to reassure her with her experience. It was by chance that she ran into Liari when she was still a little blue Majin, or that she met so many people while taking strolls around the forest. Never would have Ayu expected to learn magic and techniques that allowed her to use inner energy - she didn't even know what Ki exactly was... It really felt like a different lifetime, everything changed so much.
She gently pulled Sobi closer, holding her in a warm embrace. Feeling how she placed her head on her shoulder, Ayu gently rested her cheek on the top of her head. Her light hair was delicate and thin, feather-like... Was she human or not exactly? It's not like Ayu was one to ask but she knew that she was an Earthling. Anyway, she wasn't the one to just push with more questions, especially with how exhausted and frail her new companion was. Holding her, making sure that the cape was covering her all, Ayu's energy was slowly seeping in and part of it was staying in, healing Sobi - and the rest was bleeding out. Hm... In that case, how could she find a way to keep her health intact for longer? The answer would be a dose of healing energy that would be gradually entering her body. It could work if she'd have a medium to transfer her Ki into, so Sobi could every time she needed it, absorb a required amount.
The question surprised her, though Ayu couldn't call it unexpected. It must have been bothering her so much she didn't answer her question about a safe place to stay - or maybe Sobi simply didn't want to think of that right now.
"... Do I need a reason?" She smiled warmly, her tone lighter but not in any way less gentle. With a small sigh, Ayu stroked Sobi's hair, her voice changing into a more melancholic one. She didn't have a reason, there wasn't one - as simple as that. "I could sense that you were in need and I didn't want to leave without trying to ease your burden, even a little." Ayu was honest. There was nothing more to that. Surely, she could be thinking that it was because she was in a similar situation in the past, and help never came - so knowing the taste of hopelessness, Ayu wanted to help. Or maybe, that when she failed to save Liari, she thought she might have repaid her sins by helping others... Or perhaps, taking into consideration her Guardian's disciple's duties, she wanted to do a good deed... No, it wasn't that deep. Ayu was a very sensitive and empathic person and she couldn't stand harm. Especially the one that made others cry.
"If you'd like and if you don't know where to go, I could help you find a safe place to stay," she suggested, trying to learn if the girl had a shelter or a place she could return to. Maybe her family was looking for her? Or was there a village nearby?
Three things needed to be done. First, making sure that Sobi was in a safe place, second, that she had an object with Ayu's Ki... Third, she will visit her every couple of days to make sure her energy is in the best condition possible.
It seemed only right.

Sobi stared off into the distance as the question was asked a second time, this time Sobi heard. The girl pressing her lips together before shaking her head, she had been sleeping outside ever since she escaped the lab. In fact... she had rarely got to sleep in a bed or under a roof. She was much to frightened to seek shelter with someone she didn't know and the world's shelters had their hands full with the ongoing crisis. So she could not say she would ever find a place to stay.
"No, I just sleep outside. A man named Seneschal brings me food every once in a while and fresh clothing. He says that Sankishin sends him to check up on me. He is nice but doesn't like to talk."
Sobi couldn't understand that implication but she simply shrugged it away as she looked down at the ground.
"My home town considers me a curse and have forbid me from returning. My parents think I am not their daughter because I can't sing the lulluby of my home town in our language. Its a native tongue to our small beastkin tribe of birds, but I didn't hear the song when i slept. I never learned it like the other children."
Sobi was not completely accurate on her reasons for being banished but prejudice was the heart of it, and that was the important bit. Her skin, her weakened soul, and other things made a superstitious people afraid.
"They said "The goddess has abandoned you. Something something you didn't hear the song of dreams, you are a something something."
Sobi glazed over the story with uncaring enthusiasm. Her lack of energy highlighted in her dismissive wave while speaking, her shoulders sagging as she thought back of them driving her out. Still it wasn't so bad, she got to see her mom and dad one last time. So that was nice.
"I got to see mom and dad before I was thrown out so that was nice at least!"
Sobi was trying to remain cheerful but it was mostly faked, still she smiled on as always. Yet she slowly got to her feet as she prepared to depart again.
"Thank you for everything miss Ayu, but I have to continue on."
Sobi was clearly intent on leaving but didn't want to leave without saying good bye at least.
"I wish i could pay you back for all the help... But I need to meet Mr Seneschal soon. Do you live nearby?"
Sobi asked as her final question and she would wait to hear the answer before turning to leave. Waving happily at Ayu as she continued on her journey.

There was nothing Ayu could say, so she quietly listened to Sobi's tale. An innocent question born out of worry for her well-being turned out to be a nasty pricking sensation that woke up unpleasant memories. It... It must have been hard. It must have been painful, lonely, difficult... Ayu felt tears swelling in her eyes born from genuine compassion and concern. She wasn't that familiar with beastkins even if she got some of their genes... How could she say she knew anything about their culture and tradition? But no one deserved to be thrown away like that, simply because they were weaker and disabled in the eyes of their tribe. Sobi was met with a wretched fate. She was born frail and delicate and that was a grave sin in her hometown. Just how... How could people lynch anyone this way and chase a defenseless, harmless girl away?
"Please, listen to me, Sobi..." Ayu gently stroked her feather hair. "None of what happened was ever your fault." She couldn't tell if she was blaming herself or others, though Ayu didn't feel even a shred of hatred from her. Simply... Sobi was hurt in every way possible, her body, soul, and heart were in pain - because of her condition and her past. What a genuine being...
Not wanting to dwell on those words and add salt to the wounds, Ayu didn't say anything when Sobi was keeping a brave face. She got up surprisingly quickly, getting ready to leave - as she explained, someone was waiting for her. Ayu got up too.
"I live in a place far away, but... Please, wait a moment," she stopped her, as a certain idea sprouted in her mind. There was something she could do for Sobi. Like before... She did it once before, making a living house out of flora, shaping and adjusting all the plants she could.
Those woods were great. Silent, safer than any other area around, far enough from other settlements to not be bothered... And if there was someone who was checking on Sobi, Ayu was grateful. Still, she needed a proper shelter. Turning around and glancing at the bird girl, Ayu smiled warmly like an adult who was going to show a magic trick to a little, anxious child to calm them down. She placed her hand on the nearest tree, closing her eyes and allowing the energy to flow gently. The branches and roots moved - what's more, they twisted and bent, creating a frame of a small building. From the ground, grass blades emerged, growing in size and weaving thick walls as if they were meticulously knitted shawls. Their green surface darkened as well as it turned hard for very needed protection. The roots elevated the similarly made floor two feet above the ground, isolating it from the colder ground. Stairs grew made of bamboo, and the entrance and two windows got special covers hanging on the vines that secured everything in place. Lastly, the rainproof roof was made out of branches that right away sprouted green leaves, masking the house greatly in this forest... And just to be sure, vines and flowers hugged the walls, making the cabin hard to spot if one didn't know what to look for.
"It's my second time making a place like that... I apologize in advance if there's something sloppy inside," Ayu scratched her cheek with a bashful smile and walked towards the cabin, opening the door. The place wasn't that big, it was one, small room with a corner separated by a vine curtain. There was a wooden table with a significant pile of fresh fruits waiting to be eaten, two chairs, and space on the floor for a fireplace. Ayu secured it with strengthened tissue of fossilized bark so nothing in this home could ever catch fire. It turned out pretty good. Ayu looked back at Sobi. "Is hammock alright with you?" She gestured to a big cradle-like bed made of giant, soft lily pads, hanging from the natural ceiling. "I'm not good with creating beds and making a mattress out of moss didn't seem right. It absorbs moisture from the air way too quickly..." Ayu mused a bit to herself before she turned her attention fully towards the girl. Right, she might have been shocked... Walking up to her and securing the ribbon that was holding the cape around Sobi's shoulders, Ayu smiled at her. "Please keep it. It looks good on you."
However, aside from giving Sobi a cape and shelter, the explanation was in order. Would she be alerted..? Scared? Or suspicious? Ayu didn't know but it couldn't stop her from attempting to help.
"I know... It might be surprising but I was always good with plants. I love them and I know it might sound pompous but I know they feel something similar in return. It felt only right to ask them to help me make you a shelter," she summed everything up with a soft voice, hoping that her action or explanation didn't make Sobi anxious. Creating a shelter seemed obvious at this point. She couldn't let her go just like that... Ayu's home was in a different area and if someone was checking on the girl, it would be reckless to take her to the Lookout. It wouldn't be right to make her live somewhere else. Although she needed to ask Dende to check her state - that would have to wait until she learned more about Sobi's condition. Ayu's eyes softened with an affection characteristic of her care towards others. "I'm sorry if I spooked you. I..." She hesitated and honestly admitted everything - "I-I didn't like the thought of you spending another night outside... This is a small place I made for you. It's strong and warm enough to keep you safe from the cold and forest animals," she gently offered her the cabin. "Please, use it as you like."
And now, the time to say goodbye has come. Ayu lifted the basket with herbs patiently waiting for her all this time on the side and smiled softly. With a shelter secured, she was glad that she could do at least this much for this girl... But the thing wasn't over yet.
"Sobi, w-would you mind if I visit you now and then? To see how you're doing?" Ayu suggested, just a tiny bit bashfully if she could come by later. There was a hidden agenda here to heal the girl periodically and monitor her health but with the cabin and everything, Ayu didn't want to say more. That... She was getting worried that Sobi was feeling overwhelmed already and adding to that those medical home visits could be too much. For now, she needed her to settle in and adjust to having a safe spot in this forest.
She did as much as she could today.
