With no success in the cave of treasures, Athren had figured he just needed to keep digging and rooting through the pile of things that were in here. The items were all relics of the past, gold, coins, money and other objects of value to the normal folk of the Planet Earth. Of course, Athren had no desire for any of it and wealth wasn't exactly something that was on his mind. He didn't really need money anymore, his ship provided a solid roof over his head, a comfortable bed and all the tools he needed to take care of himself and the Earth itself? Well, it provided him with all the food and supplies he needed. If he needed wood for a fire, there was lots of it, if he needed food, the Planet provided more than enough delicious species to eat and if he needed water? There was more than enough around, especially on Mount Pauzo where he spent most of his time. The items in this cave might have been valuable, worth a literal fortune but he didn't need it. He was chasing things far more important than wealth or riches. He was a man trying to correct his mistakes, to bring back those he failed and to make things right. It was going to take a lot of time and effort to accomplish and being wealthy wouldn't change that at all. The only thing that could make him prevail now, was effort and a vast amount of time.
Athren would start at one side of the cave near the entrance he swam in from, all of the treasure was piled up against the natural, mineral rich walls that kept this room enclosed. It was his best option, simply to start from one side and go all the way around the cave. Not only was it systematic, but it was smart and effective, and given that he wasn't after any of the items here that would make him a very rich man, he could toss it into the water behind him to ensure the same piece wouldn't be turned over again. With a dark red Ki orb in his left hand illuminating the walls and area around him, Athren would crouch at the start of the long line of riches and begin digging through it with his right hand. The coins, swords and other items of value being tossed behind him, splashing into the water as he eliminated one item at a time, the pile of wealth getting smaller with every piece of it that he tossed.
Though this process was slow, it was very practical and strategic. The Demon-Saiyan would take his time, going through each and every item slowly. His ocean blue eyes examining every bit of space within the pile. Treasure chests would be opened and dumped onto the ground for further investigation. Time went on and Athren was making very good progress and not before long, he was at least half way through and the once desired treasures, were in the bottom of the water that led to the cave. IF anybody wished to recover it now, they'd need to put in a little bit more work. Though, he didn't feel bad at all. These material objects didn't compare to the value he was trying to bring back into this world.
Every single member of his crew had more value than all of these items combined, they were all kind people just trying to make their way through a very dangerous universe. Trying to provide for themselves. They hadn't been aligned with evil, most of them were refugees from the PTO, their home planets conquered and taken over, leaving them with little to no options. They could either become slaves to the great super power, or they could be free out in the universe and work for an individual who would do whatever it took to provide for them. Neither option being the clear easy choice over the other, but one provided a sense of freedom and to a degree, safety. Athren couldn't blame those who worked for him for his own choices but he knew for sure, that those people deserved freedom, they deserved a chance at a true life, outside of the heavy foot of the PTO.
Though, because of their choice they had all perished. Athren had failed them all, and he didn't plan to again. He knew that none of them would remember him when he managed to get them to return to the land of the living, but that didn't mean he couldn't make it up to them. He could provide them with a choice, a safe place to live where they could truly be free of all consequences of anothers actions. He could simply let them live free, to fend for themselves in a community where they farmed, worked and lived in peace together. The idea was a genuine one, and with the crew in mind, he knew it would work. They were all responsible, had a fair share of experience. He had cooks, farmers, fighters, people who were very advanced with technology, a community with them could thrive, all he would need to do was build it and at this point, he knew he was going too. He just needed to find the right location in the mountain to do so, somewhere that would be somewhat shielded from the rest of the world.
First though, he was going to have to find all the seven dragon balls and summon the Dragon to wish them back. This was going to be the hardest part of it all. Though he wouldn't give up, he wouldn't give in until it was done. HE didn't care how long it would take him, how many hours he'd spend awake searching for these damn things. He owed it to those people, all of them deserved a second chance. For now, all Athren could do is keep searching, hoping that it would show.
