It was supposed to be a job like any other. Oversee security for a spaceport. Seeing as the Earthlings have really upped their protocol and tech since the first time she came over it could only mean things were about to get dicey for the EDF. Casca would be there to take mental notes and play the part of a security guard and inspection. Never know what sort of goodies one might find lurking in wait to be intercepted or at the very least noted.
Then came a conspicuous-looking travel vessel. Looked to be of the standard Intergalactic make with some homebrew parts just latched on there. A rush job if anything, but the folds running the rig looked nice at first. As part of a team of three, she'd walk alongside an inspector to take a look at the insides of the vessel. The faux saiyan should have acted on the hunch she could feel them sweating just staring at them because a moment later the main guard opened up a latch they found hidden under a box.
"GIG'S UP ROSS!"
One of them shout, and as soon as she could turn the pirates that outed themselves just now already had dampening manacles around her arms. Weaker as she may be, she'd still deliver a good headbutt to first man assaulting her.
"Security Team Beta, we've got-"
The other two humans weren't really as much of a threat, not needing the same restraints as her to be knocked out senseless in one tap of an elbow. And though Casca would struggle for a moment dealing with about half a dozen men with her hands bound, she didn't stand as much of a chance in close quarters. The last things she can hear past the adrenaline and eventual darkening of her world were directions from a captain. Something about getting away from Earth...
Where she ended up waking up in a brig. Alongside the rest of the human security team and a few others bound by their shackles. Her eyes flutter open to take in the dank little room they had for themselves. Propped up with cell bars to her back, the faux saiyan did NOT have a good ride leading out of whatever encounter this was.
"Hrrk... Damn!"
The two humans were still knocked cold, and the others chained just looked over the hybrid with some concern. One would even hold a finger up to their lips in a hushing manner. Something that would annoy her. She'd glare over at this one as it spoke in a similar whisper. With some of the light peeking through the upper chamber, she could see a few scars run along this human-looking face. Cerealian?
"Shhh. They hear you complain, they'll shut you up real good..."
Casca's squinted gaze turned from the man upwards, where the quiet chit-chatting of the crew up above could be heard. Muffled to the point of incomprehensibility. From the way they acted and jumped on the security detail, Pirates? Slavers? These don't seem to be the first locked up down here with the numerous additional manacles and power dampeners sprawled about and tucked underneath seats. Without her raw might busting through walls wasn't going to be an option.
Slowly, she took to stand up in the cramped brig. Leaning over a bit to avoid hitting her head on the ceiling. With enough luck, she could scoot around without having to make much noise and upset the guests here. "... I'll fucking show them what happens when they mess with me." She muttered to herself as she looked over the nooks and crannies of the cell. Casca didn't see anything she could work with. She did at least garner the knowledge the cell's bars are lined with a plasmic shielding to keep people in should they find a way past metal.
"Have either of you seen how they throw people inside this cell?"
She'd turn on the captives that were conscious, making them shake a little in their boots. The one chained that had his dampeners on. Squirmed in his seat and stared up at the fiery lass. "Are you trying to get these people killed?"
"No, idiot, I'm trying to buy us some freedom. They made the mistake of locking me in here. They'll pay for it."
His standoffish demeanor changed slowly as the talking quieted above them. The momentary silence didn't get Casca anything but frustration though as she leaned her forearms against the cell wall and hung her head. For a moment it looked like she was defeated in some way, but she was mostly thinking about how to puzzle her way out of this. The two of them are strong enough to be bound by these damned dampeners.
Then it came to her. The shielding... No doubt it was meant to keep them in, but it probably produced some sort of shock to keep people from pressing their luck against it. She craned her head from the cell bars back to the man who, similarly, looked down in a disheveled mess. She knew that look; Guilt. He couldn't do anything to help those inside as well. It would be easy enough to spur that feeling into energy. The energy they'd need if they wanted to get out of this.
"Hey. Got an idea. Quit sulking and show me your restraints."
The Saiyan in name turned and leaned over the man. Much like her own, there was some pretty deep tech surrounding the dampeners. Getting a look over his wasn't necessary for her, this was more to grab his attention. "Think you can bust down some metal bars with your bare strength?"
"Huh?"
"You know, get to that force field. I think with enough pushing we can fry these things around our wrists and get the rest of us out of here. I could probably take the crew by myself once out but protecting the rest of them? That'd be your job."
The man gave himself another lookover before clenching his fists. Casca gave the guy a little shove with an arm before stepping over to the bars. "Do this and maybe you won't live the rest of your lives tied up for someone else." Something about the way she spoke forced the warrior back out of this man. With a sudden lurch, he'd stand, having to be nearly seven feet tall by the way he hunched over. In terms of natural muscle, he was peak form for where he came from. Casca gave him a lookover before smirking.
"Good. Once we do this, all hell breaks loose. Try to get them some air or whatever, I'll aim right for the controls to this ship. Then you can do what you want so long as you don't get in my way."
She was going to blast holes in these guys for trying. A more squeamish version of her would probably try knocking these punks out but Casca didn't have the patience or desire to keep cowards like this alive. The man would most likely not want to bloody his hands but agreed to this with a simple nod.
"Just don't get us killed, human."
Well, can't really fault him for assuming. Besides, she was still working as her human self around the still passed-out Earthlings she got kidnapped with.
"Whatever, on my count."
Both of them brace themselves for a good push. As well as one could in such a cramped spot. One... Two... Three..., and the pair would take opposite ends of the celled cage to try bashing against it. It was looser than Casca would expect for the age of the ship, popping off and outwards with one clean coordinated attempt. Then both would be repelled by a shimmering blue shield. Covering the now opened wall corner to corner and zapping both of them.
"The hell was that?"
Someone above shouted, alerted almost immediately by the sound moments before an alarm started going off. Regaining their posture the pair of fighters gave each other a quick look.
"Quick, against this stupid shielding."
She'd call and take initiative to smash the manacles against the now-charged barrier. It hurt like a mother hubbard, but the two pieces making up the shackles suddenly burst away from her arms. She felt that power surge back through her body the moment it happened. Quick to follow, the big guy would do much the same with grit teeth. Bashing against it a few times before absolutely destroying the dampeners on his wrists. At rest, his power surged around to her own strength.
"They're trying to get out? Time to beat some sense into the property..."
Well, they were free. But as part of the whole breaking out thing, Casca aimed a palm out at the shielding and just let loose a string of blasts against it. Throwing up dust and some metal debris as the integral parts of the shield that kept it in place on the ship is bent out of whack in the same stroke. She hopped on out with the blast, disregarding what the man would do to follow up and aiming another blast straight upwards.
"I'll kill every last one of you bastards!"
She'd yell out before aiming a breaching blast to clear a hole straight through the floor. One unfortunate soul was in the way right overhead running towards the Brig. Vaporizing him the moment he orange ki flooded the room and threw the metal of the ship his way. It would leave nothing but a bit of blood, most of even that destroyed by the heat of the blast. The whole ship rocked with the force, and more panicked screams could be heard from above. This? Yes, she lived for this. Hopefully, some would put up a fight as she moved through it.
She was most disappointed with what she felt on board, however. And perhaps the crew knew their only shot was grouping together as most ran from their posts to gather together on the bridge. There were maybe one or two guards she remembers throwing a stray blast at to disperse or outright end on the spot as it tore through them. Casca was most displeased. Cutting to the chase, she threw herself up an emergency-locked door and tore it open with her hands. Revealing the last stretch of resistance before meeting the ship's cramped cockpit. The bridge meeting between her and that was filled with crooked pirates and the main man of the show. A Heran Slaver by the looks of it, with a funny pointy hat.
"Now, hold on, I didn't think my boys accidentally took such a capable warrior captive! Surely this was some misunderstanding."
He threw his hand up, trying to force a cordial halt to the momentum behind the firey half-demon. Rather than get his expected result he was met with the outside palm of Casca's leading right-hand lighting up with a ki blast.
"Oh I understand that! Turn the ship around and maybe some of you get to live."
The captain was sweating bullets. A few of the crew trembled and one brave soul stupid enough to challenge her lifted an arm blaster her way and took the shot. Something a simple deflection with her offhand would take care of, sending it high into the ceiling and throwing more debris downwards. With many more shots like that the integrity of the ship would be compromised. For the trouble, she'd turn her hand around and blast the guy who tried.
"Anyone Else?"
This was absurd, there was no way this wouldn't just get them arrested if they gave the white flag. With one simple shout, the captain pointed a finger out at this rambunctious youth.
"GET HER!"
"And that's... how it happened."
A few hours had passed and Casca managed to find herself answering questions to the EDF authories upon reentering the spaceport with the ship in tow. Banged up and bruised, most of the crew was in the background getting searched and handcuffed. What remained of those who didn't survive were being carted out with what was left of them. The captain in question is one of those fallen. As for the previous captives and her security crew, all were returned safely to the lobby alongside Casca, who was now doing most of the talking.
"Yes sir. Everything and nothing but."
Rather than retell the events exactly, the woman must have abridged the story to remove any sort of violent aggression or absolute murder. Smiling at the crew of two that took notes on the matter. That whole time she was probably thinking of how good this would look on any reports leading back to her.
"I was just doing my job."
