All the turmoil and destruction across South City truly was a nightmare to behold, nobody could truly know just how many people have already died at the hands of Majin Liari before she had entered a Great Ape form. The destruction of so much property and homes that had a person’s entire livelihood vanished in a blink of an eye, families torn apart by the destruction, all of it was truly devastating. It is understandable to feel overwhelmed and helpless in the face of such chaos and destruction. Emergency services such as paramedics, firefighters, law enforcement, even the military probably couldn’t even lay a finger against the hulking Great Ape Liari, and the reconstruction of the City would take YEARS to rebuild what had already been lost, the very thought of so many lives having been snuffed away for a meaningless battle could sicken even the most blood thirsty of warriors…
For Callion, it just made him plain angry.
Even now as he stood still, waiting to see if Quash; a fellow pureblooded Saiyan who had been corrupted by Majin Liari with her mind controlling influence, his eyes would’ve scanned the ruined city before him, the lives taken and laid bare on the ground, the shattered homes and demolished buildings that once towered one another. How could all of it come to pass? How can such blatant disregard for life and destruction be allowed to happen? Callion took a deep breath and clenched his fists, feeling the anger and frustration boiling within him. He knew that he couldn't change what had already happened right now, but he could try to prevent more lives from being lost, The pureblooded Saiyan knew that there IS a way to bring back all those that had died this day, with the help of the most powerful objects the world has ever known...
The Dragonballs.
To Callion’s knowledge from having learnt from Master Roshi and King Kai, The Dragonballs are a set of seven mystical orbs that are scattered across the world. When all seven balls are collected and brought together, they summon a powerful dragon named Shenron. This dragon has the power to grant any wish that the person who gathered the Dragon Balls desires. The Dragon Balls were created by the Namekian guardian of Earth, Kami, and each one is about the size of a baseball. They are usually orange in colour with red stars, but there have been variations in colour and design depending on the specific set of Dragon Balls. In order to collect the Dragon Balls, a person must first locate them and then gather all seven in one place. Once the Dragon Balls are gathered, a person must recite a specific incantation in order to summon the dragon Shenron. Once summoned, Shenron will grant one wish to the person who gathered the Dragon Balls.
Callion's fists remained clenched at his sides as he remembered the stories of his Saiyan ancestors, tales of their bravery and valor in battle, their determination to protect their loved ones and their home planet, but also their ruthlessness and complete disregard for all life, and how they become coldblooded killers, murderers, and the terror across the universe. Did Liari’s absorption of Callion and Kombu not only managed to allow the Majin to awaken the Oozaru Great Ape form inside of her which, by her race should be impossible as it is, but also the racial pride and fury within her? There were far too many calculable variables enough as there is, and right now it was not helping him…
Callion knew that once this was all over, when Majin Liari was delt with, not only was he going to have to train unbelievably hard, but also go on a desperation search for the Seven Dragon Balls. He could not let this destruction and loss of life go unanswered. He couldn't just sit idly by and watch as more lives were lost in the face of such overwhelming power, especially when they can be returned to life once the battle was over. The Saiyan – even though he was not born or raised on Earth, made the planet his home, and he was determined to protect it at all costs. With a deep breath, Callion set his jaw and steeled himself for the fight to come. He would do whatever it takes to stop Majin Liari and her mind control once and for all. And once that was done, he would do whatever it takes to collect the Dragon Balls and bring back all those who had lost their lives in the chaos and destruction.
He knew it would not be easy. The Dragon Balls were scattered across the world, and gathering them all would be a monumental task. But he had to try. He could not let the innocent lives lost in this senseless battle go unavenged. He could not let the families torn apart by the destruction go without some hope of reunion.
Callion took one last look at the ruined city before him, his heart heavy with grief and determination. He would stop at nothing to make things right, to bring justice to those who had lost everything. And with the power of the Dragon Balls on his side, he knew he had a chance to make it happen.
But right now, Callion’s only hope was that his words, his caring nature – which anomaly for even the Saiyan race, hoped to have reached and found it’s way to Quash, and judging by what he saw were veins protruding out from his fellow Saiyan’s head, he could see he was fighting back against the influence of Liari’s mind control. It was working! Callion was helping in freeing Quash from being mind control! Yes! Yes! This was exactly what the Saiyan Monk was hoping for, to finally help his former student in bringing back the old, honourable and worthy warrior of a Saiyan that he knew he was.
Callion saw the struggling that Quash was undergoing to fighting back against the corrupting influence of the mind control, the pureblooded Saiyan stared him down, watching him fighting back against the inner voice. “Come on Quash… You must fight back, FIGHT IT QUASH!” Callion screamed inside his head with such a thought, gazing at the corrupted Saiyan squirm and struggle with every fibre of his being, his thoughts continued with firm and determined words that he wished he could say to him. "Quash, you're stronger than this. You are a Saiyan, not some puppet controlled by Majin Liari. You have the power to break free from her grasp. Fight it, Quash, fight it with all your might! I am Proud of You beyond words…"
As Callion had asked respectfully for Ayu; the dearly beloved Bio-Android, who clearly has suffered more than anyone could possibly imagine from the mental torment that was the fighting and destruction taking place, The Saiyan monk took a look at the green-skinned woman and could see the pain and devastation in her eyes. That hopelessness, fear, anxiety, worry, it was clear as day that Ayu was being traumatized by the events that had transpired with the conflict between Callion and Quash, alongside the raging battle between Athren and Liari that was still going on away from their position. Callion wanted to approach her with a gentle smile, and embrace the poor woman, wanting more than ever to try his best to offer some comfort. But even that can only do so much, Callion – like Ayu – still cared very much for Liari, even as she continued her monstrous rampage across South City. Even after she had absorbed the Saiyan monk into her body some time ago back at West City, the Saiyan still cared for her well-being and wanted to help her if he could, maybe help the bluebell majin find some way to break her out of this evil that plagues her, but even that was becoming ever more of a fleeting dream the more she continues her onslaught across the city, threating the lives of the innocent civilians that still continue to flee, and the continued battle with Athren was only getting more out of hand the longer that it played out between the two powerhouses of the area.
But now, as he looked at Ayu, he realized that he couldn't just stand by and watch her suffer any longer. Just as he made a decision to do what he could to help her, his left eye caught the attention of Quash, those following words rung out that made the Saiyan snap back to attention at what was once his opponent that Callion was fighting against with his full power of the Super Kaio-Ken:
“That won’t be necessary Ayu.”
That caused Callion to have conflicted internal emotions right on the spot as Quash had his full attention. What did he mean by this? Was he going to stop the fighting? Was there some kind of breakthrough in his resistance against Liari's mind control? Callion's heart raced with anticipation and hope. He knew Saiyan can be stubborn at not accepting medial aid, hell Callion was quite the testament to this claim as it is, being rather stubborn as any other Saiyan that came before him. Even so, for Quash to refuse to have his wounds mended, even as their battle at this point was over, it was no time to be playing such a dangerous game as a means to atone for one’s actions. Everyone had to be at least in their prime energy in order to handle Liari, and that certainly meant for Quash. Callion could look at the seriousness in the formerly corrupted Saiyans eyes, he was truly going through with this, having little to no desire in being healed whatsoever. A bold plan of action by any stretch of the imagination, one that could potentially risk Quash's life should the combined fighting with Liari take on a drastic turn of events that could threaten not just the people and the warriors fighting in South City, but potentially the entire planet as a result from the escalating conflict, but Callion respected his decision and understood the reasoning behind it.
Even though Callion was worried to high Kami that Quash was only going to be putting himself in even greater mortal danger, he had to trust in Quash's decision, as he had always trusted in his former student's abilities and judgement, it even made Callion feel both admiration and concern for Quash. Callion looked at Ayu one last time, his heart heavy with the pain that he could see in her eyes. He knew that he could not just leave her like this, he had to do something to help her, maybe try to talk to her once this was all over perhaps? Indeed, this was not going to be easy for the two people that truly held the same caring and affection that they had for Liari, and to see what was once light and life in Ayu’s eyes turn to a dim, numbing and bleakness of everything that was happening was just heart wrenching to the core.
Though not all was lost, for in that very moment, that was when Callion witnessed something and heard what was a pray being blessed by Kami from above: Quash accepted the Truce, it was official: Quash, in Callion’s eyes, was free from being manipulation – having broken free from the mind control. A warm smile, that ray of hope returned to the pureblooded Saiyan’s face, even amidst all this unwanted destruction, there was still a glimmer of hope that they could turn things around. Callion felt a sense of relief, knowing that they now had a stronger chance of defeating Liari and putting an end to this madness and possibly try to save as many lives as possibly, and with the combined effort of Ayu, Quash, Athren, Opherla, and Serena – there is a chance for all of this to finally come to an end.
… Callion reached out and accepted the handshake…
…
Only to be met with a ki blade from that very hand he was about to shake being jabbed straight into his torso.
Callion eyes widened, blood escaped from his mouth, his whole body staggered from such a major, surprised sucker stab to the torso. His legs quivered from such a powerful hit to the body, his base form was not even close to being able to sponge such an attack, the Saiyan’s eyes locked onto Quash, barely able to get a word out and gasping for air,
"Quash...why?"
That sudden blow that came out nowhere knocked the fire out of Callion’s body, his breath slowly began to get erratic from having the ki blade being jabbed into his form, and as it pulled out, his clutched his torso, slightly staggering backwards with two steps, gritting his teeth, the Saiyans body shaking as he felt his very life energy slipping away from such a blow. The last words he’d heard from Quash:
“But this isn’t your fight anymore. Whether you’re dead or alive, it has to be me this time. I’ve already taken the burden off your shoulders a long time ago.”
Those words made Callion panic. The burden of responsibility of the actions that had happened from such a time should not push Quash to go this far. “Quash… No… Do not… Do this…” Callion whimpers, trying to speak clearly, but the wind was clearly punched out of him, the saiyan gasping for air and struggling to remain conscious, remaining clutched to his wounds. Callion’s eyes slowly began to close as he struggled to keep consciousness. He could feel his life force slipping away, and he knew he was running out of time. With his last bit of strength, he spoke to Quash weakly watching him leave to join the fight against Liari alongside Athren, “Quash… No…”
With those words, Callion’s body went limp, his last breath leaving him as he collapsed to the ground. The sound of the battle raging on around them seemed to fade away, replaced only by the deafening silence that accompanied the familiar presence of knocking on death’s door once again. Though as, Callion was falling, two figures came to his aid when the Saiyan collapsed:
Ayu, with her soft, cushion bed of moss and soft grass, and Serena having managed to catch the Saiyan Monk underneath his arm. He felt Serena carrying him to the ground, realising that she was a Majin that was indeed worth trusting, even the fact that she called him ‘Mister Saiyan’ was enough to get the pain inflicted pureblooded Saiyan a small smile from his lips, as blood dribbled from the sides of his mouth. As he laid there on the ground, his back resting on the comfortable moss and soft grass, the breathing of the critically injured Saiyan was heavy, but slowly fading away. His left eye remained opened whilst the right closed. With a shaken left hand, he reached up and – if allowed- gently patted Serena’s right cheek twice. “You… You are a good girl… Thank you… You have earned… My respect… Now… Now… Get out of here… While you still can… Save yourself…” Callion whispered, even on the verge of death, he still cared for those around him, especially those who had not the strength and power to take on Liari. He saw the genuine good deeds that Ayu, Opherla and Serena had done in trying to help him in his fight against Quash back when he was under the Majin influence and mind control. The last thing that he wanted, even now in what was basically his dying state was to see anyone else get hurt or sacrificed for the sake of this godless battle.
But there was another presence, something that he felt that was rising as though the very entity has SNAPPED from escalating pressure that the battle all across South City. He felt he was laying in Ground Zero of such an entity. He could feel the air around him and the area growing heavy, making it actually harder for the Saiyan to breathe in his state of being at the moment, sweating from such a gravity situation. Not only that, but the Saiyan Monk could sense that the nearby emotional energy of the certain individual was about to ignite a spark that was to unleash a fire never before seen, even by the Saiyan’s actions. That is when he recognised the energy from before, way back during the pleasant days of the Bamboo Forest before he passed away.
Then it made him think for a moment…
…
Hold on… This energy… This Ki…
…
Ayu?
…
Oh dear Kami, it IS Ayu!
Callion slowly managed to draw out what little strength he had and somehow opened his right eye, his breathing laboured and his speech becoming more difficult, “Ayu…” He whispered, his voice barely above a breath, “You… This power… You had it… Right… All along… I am so… Proud of you… You… Finally found the resolve…” His voice trailed off, and he closed his eyes again. His breathing became shallower and shallower, the heavy atmosphere where Ayu was standing was being a nightmare to his breathing altogether. Witnessing Ayu’s sheer power was something that amazed Callion, even in his weakened state. He knew that she had always possessed great potential, but to see her unleash it in such a way was truly something special. If anything, it acted as a comfort to him in his final moments, knowing that she would be able to continue the fight against Liari and protect those who could not protect themselves.
As he lay there, Callion's mind began to wander, memories of his past flashing before his eyes. He thought about his home planet, his family, and the many battles he had fought over the years. He also thought about Quash and their final encounter, and how it had ultimately led to his demise. But as he reflected on his life, he felt a sense of peace wash over him, knowing that he had done everything he could to protect those around him. Callion felt his body growing colder by the second, Callion knew that he had little time left. He wanted to say more, to tell Ayu how proud he was of her and how much she had grown since they first met, but his body would not let him. His eyes slowly opened again, and he managed to croak out one last message to Ayu, "Remember... what I... taught you... never forget... your true... strength..." With that, his eyes remained opened, not only in continuing to witness the true state of Ayu in all her majesty and power, but he also started concentrating in not only trying to breathe, but also stay alive -barely hanging on with what little life energy he had left from being sucker stabbed by Quash with his Ki blade.
But that wasn’t over, for Callion witnessed Ayu’s true, unbelievable power the moment when her mental state brought forth her resolve. His eyebrows shot up whilst he was laying on a bed of moss and soft grass. The Saiyan’s body felt the very earth beneath them tremble before what came next – never before had he witnessed the sudden arrival of vast green vines and brown branches that completely swarmed the entire city, and the city buildings that remarkably still stood tall despite the warranted destruction at the conflict. The sheer girth and size of such tree barks were like that of mythological proportional, The Saiyan didn’t have the energy to talk but watched and witnessed it all happening right before his eyes, it was truly a sight to behold. Callion was amazed at Ayu's power, and he knew that she was capable of great things. He felt a sense of pride knowing that he had played a small part in her journey, and he knew that she would go on to do great things in the future.
In a way, it was rather funny to Callion. There he was, walking along the Bamboo forest, having first met Ayu upside down, still training to focus her plant powers – and now here she is, basically being the very equivalent of the Avatar of Mother Earth itself. This was a sight he would never forget. The vines and branches seemed to have a life of their own, moving with an almost sentient quality as they wrapped around buildings and structures, all of it moving straight towards Liari’s Gnashing Tsunami Cannon blast as a means of using themselves as a way to completely negate the damage that would’ve been more than enough to completely destroy the city or perhaps the entire planet itself! He watched the majesty of Ayu’s power and control over the enlarged plant life itself that spewed from the ground in action, acting like a Venus flytrap in order to swallow every drop of Liari’s attack until it exploded and prevented the damage being done to the city.
Callion was humble to know that him in his Super Saiyan form combined with his Kaio-ken form didn’t even come CLOSE to the sheer power that Ayu had in her possession when it came to energy. Heck, Athren’s Super Saiyan 2 awakening was a candle compared to the inferno that Ayu had just revealed before his very eyes. Ayu’s very power, it was as though nature had come to her aid. The remaining vines and branches that still stood tall, even with the blackened scars from having endured the sheer power of the erupting blast that came as a result in taking in all the power from Liari’s energy attack. He would still see those very vines and branches reached out and wrapped themselves around the remaining buildings, securing them in place and preventing them from collapsing. Callion could not believe what he was seeing, as Ayu's power had created, in her own way, a new source of plant life, a new fundamental form of attack and defence with its own unique powers and components. It was a remarkable display of strength and control, and Callion knew that Ayu was destined for greatness, and with her resolve now being displayed, it was remarkable.
As he watched Ayu’s power continue to shine, he closed his eyes once more, knowing that he had seen something truly incredible. He felt his breathing becoming shallower still, and his body growing weaker by the second. The pain from his wound was fading, and he knew that his time was almost up if he wasn’t going to get healed soon. But there was something that made him keep his eyes opened long enough to witness something he never expected, something that made even him smile dim just abit, that made him see that even a power like Ayu can be something to be in awe but also careful about.
Those glowing yellow eyes.
Truly, he had never seen this side of the woman before, and it filled him with a sense of wonder and respect. He could see the raw power emanating from her, the unbridled energy that flowed through her veins. It was a sight that he would never forget, a testament to the true strength of a woman who wanted nothing more but to live her life in peace, and that was something that he and her shared in common with one another. She was and always shall be a woman that was something truly special. In fact, so was Serena and Opherla in their way much like ayu; their tenacity and bravery, even when the odds were against them, even knowing full well that the situation within this now ruined city could cost them their life – Callion was proud of them, and he couldn’t ask for anything more then that, and even though he didn’t realise that Opherla had left when he collapsed to the ground, Callion would still be proud of the Beastfolk Saiyan Hybrid… At least she was smart enough to leave, something that he should’ve done when he was in West City, perhaps that could’ve stopped him from having died that day.
Callion heard the footsteps and ki energy of the approaching Ayu, he arrived and now kneeling on the grass beside him. His breathing was hard, even now once more on the verge of death, he kept the same smile as he had the last time he passed away, though last time he died whilst still standing – so in a way, this was somewhat of a downgrade… But HEY! He was laying on a soft bed of moss and soft grass, so, in a way he could not complain… Also, he is not being absorbed, so that was also a bonus as well. He couldn’t move his body, that state of being had sadly stopped, only his focus on his breathing remained for now, he smiled having felt the touch of Ayu, gently brushing away his lion mane of a Saiyan hair, his mouth gritting for just a moment – for even something like that was rather painful somewhat. “Heheheh… Well… I see what you meant… By that explosive power that you… Mentioned to me a while back… When we reunited… Huh Ayu… At least… It’s a step improvement… You didn’t kill anyone…” Callion spoke quietly, his voice weak but still carrying a sense of humor and gratitude, something that – even now – still remarkably remained despite what had happened for the Saiyan to even be in this state of all things. He chuckled, as blood continued to run down his mouth for a moment. “Heheheh… I knew you were strong… But goodness gracious… This is taking the cake and eating it… Heheheh… What exactly have you been eating… Getting this strong, huh?” Callion asked, picking an unusual time, even as he was, once again, knocking on deaths door to turn this into a humorous situation. Why was it picking this time of all things to make it into a light-hearted situation? Was it because having died before he no longer feared death? Or maybe it was his way of easing the tension and fighting through the pain in his own unique way, perhaps maybe the old Callion didn’t really go away and being replaced with the Saiyan Callion that he became the moment he turned into a Super Saiyan.... At this point, who was to say…
With Callion’s eyes closing, his skin turning a worrying shade of pale. He felt his upper body – mainly his head being placed on something soft… Was it a lap? No, it was too skinny to be a lap… An arm maybe? He couldn’t tell, his eyes were closed… Oh wait, he could feel hands on his lion mane of a hair, it was her arm that his head was resting on. But now, this was turning into something he didn’t honest expect at all.
Something was being forced inside his mouth…
…
This was a little unexpected, possibly awkward, but at this point, whatever Ayu was doing, he couldn’t exactly complain. That was until he tasted what was being put inside his mouth that allowed him to chew and swallow slowly once her hand was out of his mouth.
It was a Senzu Bean.
Callion could tell by the size and shape of the Senzu Bean. According to King Kai and even Dende, during a rare talk opportunity that came with the discussion of the Dragon Balls. From what Callion had learnt, Senzu Beans are grown by the fabled Cat Korin, a wise feline who lives atop Korin Tower. Korin is the one who grows the Senzu beans and is responsible for their distribution. Korin first discovered the Senzu beans while training on the top of Korin Tower. He noticed that a single bean from a nearby plant was enough to sustain him for an entire day. Over time, he cultivated and perfected the beans, eventually creating the potent and powerful variety that is known to some of the greatest warriors out there. According to his master King Kai, When a person eats a Senzu bean, it can heal any physical injuries they may have sustained, including broken bones, cuts, and bruises. The healing effect is almost instantaneous, and the person will feel rejuvenated and refreshed. The beans can also restore a person's energy, allowing them to fight at their full potential even after sustaining significant damage.
In addition to healing, Senzu beans can provide sustenance for a person for up to ten days. This means that a person who eats a single bean will not feel hungry or thirsty for almost two weeks. This is particularly useful during times of battle when a person may not have access to food or water for an extended period. Senzu beans can also accelerate a person's physical growth, allowing them to recover from injuries at an accelerated rate. This effect is particularly useful for those who have sustained serious injuries, as it can help them recover much more quickly than they would otherwise. While Senzu beans are incredibly powerful, they do have some limitations. They cannot heal illnesses or diseases, and eating too many beans in a short period of time can cause stomach discomfort. Additionally, once a person has eaten a Senzu bean, they cannot eat another one for at least ten days, as the effects of the bean will last for that entire period.
When Callion – laying on the soft moss and grass on the verge of being once again to Death’s door, the moment he swallowed the Senzu Bean… There was silence, the Saiyan didn’t move at all, his eyes remained closed and he said not a word as he swallowed the very Senzu bean that travelled all the way down towards his stomach. A deathly silence was met within the small area that now resided with Ayu, Serena and now the rested Callion on the soft grassy floor whilst the struggle with Liari against the two Super Saiyans was about to begin.
…
Then…
it happened.
When Callion is offered the Senzu bean by Ayu, he chews and swallows it, and the bean begins to take effect almost immediately. The Senzu Bean contained powerful healing properties that are able to quickly and effectively heal any physical injuries that Callion had sustained from both the conflict with Quash and himself when having entered the Super Kaio-ken form, including broken bones, cuts, and bruises. The healing process begins as soon as the Senzu Bean is ingested. The nutrients in the bean are quickly absorbed by Callion's body and are distributed throughout his bloodstream. The powerful healing properties of the Senzu Bean then start to repair any damaged tissue in his body. The bean contains a variety of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that help to accelerate the healing process and reduce inflammation around his torso when he was stabbed by Quash’s ki blade.
As the Senzu Bean continues to work its magic, Callion can feel his energy levels starting to rise. The bean also provides sustenance for up to ten days, meaning that Callion won't feel hungry or thirsty for almost two weeks. This is particularly useful, especially with the ongoing conflict that was currently enraging in South City right now. In addition to healing physical injuries, the Senzu Bean also accelerated Callion’s physical growth, as it allowed him to recover from injuries, he received from both himself and the former corrupted Saiyan at an accelerated rate. This effect is particularly useful for those who have sustained serious injuries, as it can help them recover much more quickly than they would otherwise.
As Callion lays on the soft moss and grass, his body battered and bruised from his recent battle, he can feel the effects of the Senzu Bean starting to take hold. His mind slowly starts to clear as he opens his eyes, taking in his surroundings. The pain that once wracked his body has disappeared, replaced with a feeling of warmth and rejuvenation. His vision is blurry at first, but soon it starts to clear, and he sees that he is lying on a bed of soft moss and grass. With a groan, Callion sits up slowly, his body feeling strong and agile once again. He takes a deep breath, feeling the fresh air fill his lungs, and then looks down at his hands. His cuts and bruises have vanished, leaving smooth and unblemished skin in their place.
"Unbelievable," Callion whispers, awed by the power of the Senzu Bean. "I feel better than ever." He stands up slowly, testing his strength, and then grins as he feels his energy levels surge. The Senzu Bean has restored him completely, giving him a newfound sense of power and confidence. "How is this possible?" he murmurs, sitting up slowly. “Not only feeling instantly better… I also feel… Powerful… Like I am a lot stronger than I ever was before- leagues stronger from what I had been before… What even is-“ That’s when Callion was quiet, something reminded him of his studies back on the Planet Bhupal. During his youth, the Grandmaster of the Temple allowed Callion to study about Saiyan biology… From the Great Ape form, to their behaviour, to even the remarkable Zenkai Boost… Wait…
Callion managed to recover from a near death experience this time… It wasn’t like last time where he full on died and suffered the consequences because of having been dead. No… Callion survived this time, and on top of that, he was fully healed, as though he didn’t even participate in the battle at all. He survived, fully restored with his power back to normal, and ontop of that…
He felt immensely stronger.
…
“Zenkai… Quash… You sly Saiyan…” Callion thought in his mind, his eyes widened as he looked at his hands, feeling the power, Realizing the potential of the Zenkai Boost, Callion couldn't help but feel amazed. He knew that Saiyans could increase their power levels after recovering from near-death experiences, but he never expected to experience it firsthand. He wondered how much stronger he had become and how he could use this newfound power to his advantage. From he could recall, a Zenkai Boost, otherwise known as a Saiyan Power, is a power increase that Saiyans, his own people, experience after recovering from a near-death experience.
The Zenkai Boost is a natural ability of the Saiyan race, and it works by allowing their body to recover from severe physical injuries and then come back stronger than before. The boost is not automatic, and the Saiyan must have the willpower to recover from their injuries. If the Saiyan does not have the will to recover, they will not receive the boost. When a Saiyan undergoes a near-death experience, their body goes through a process of healing and regeneration. During this process, their body produces more Saiyan cells, which are responsible for increasing the Saiyan's strength, speed, and durability. As a result, the Saiyan's power level increases significantly after they recover from their injuries.
For Callion to finally experience this first hand, he could not believe it. His eyes widened, blinking several times in disbelief as he thought about the possibilities that this newfound power could bring. He wondered if he could use this power to defeat his enemies more easily or if he could use it to protect his friends and loved ones. As he stood up and stretched his muscles, he could feel the energy coursing through his body, and he knew that he was now a force to be reckoned with.
However, Callion also knew that this power came with a price. He had to be careful not to rely too much on the Zenkai Boost and put himself in dangerous situations. He also had to make sure that he continued to train and improve his skills so that he could fully harness this newfound power.
For now, as Callion had now fully recovered with the aid of the Senzu Bean and this newfound gift in strength and Power, his eyes looked up to see the ongoing struggle with Liari against Quash and Athren. His eyes, looked over to see the battle once more. He looked to Serena, now fully healed, giving her a bow of respect. “Thank you…” He thanked the Red Majin once more with sincerity in his voice, before going over to Ayu, the one person that needed comfort. Once more, he had what Quash said enter his mind for a second time:
“But this isn’t your fight anymore. Whether you’re dead or alive, it has to be me this time. I’ve already taken the burden off your shoulders a long time ago.”
For now… Quash was right, Callion – even when fully healed, recognised that he could not participate in this fight anymore. Even with the power up, chances are, Callion would only just get in the way. He would allow the real heroes take on Liari and fight, though at least he was proud that he finally helped free Quash from the influence of being Mind controlled. He assisted Athren long enough to at least smack some sense into the former corrupted Saiyan, and this time, he could live to tell the tale.
Callion placed a gentle left hand on Ayu’s right shoulder, knowing full well that she needed mental support right now, he decided to stand right next to her side by side, as he looked up to witness the battle unfold before his eyes, not saying a word, but he hoped to give the super powered bio-android comfort that he was perfectly fine, granting her the peace of mind that she needed now more than ever.
His time in the spotlight was over, and now…
The fate of the City can truly begin.
