It would be simple to say that Khyrop's last few weeks on earth and in north city, in particular, had been incredibly fun when there had been much more to it. If he was forced to compress it down to a single word it would've been, thrilling, as he used the oppurtunity to enjoy the planet as much as he could. However, as of late there had been something that was starting to get in the way of enjoying his good time. In the area he had been staying there was supposedly someone who was causing a bunch of trouble attacking people and destroying property. While he had no attachment to this planet, its places, or people and this normally would've gone ignored by him the attacker had made a fatal mistake, they had killed one of his personal henchmen out on a coffee run. The man had been useless and incapable in a fight but he'd be damned if they got away with him missing out on a blood orange frappe.
With this slight heavy in his mind Khy had decided that as the Archduke he wouldn't be able to let any of this slide, no he would find the man and discover his reasons before turning his insides into the drink that he had missed out on. To some people this rage might've seemed intense and misplaced but the Bio-android had been made this way by design and by chance as his circumstances drove him further into pursuing what he desired.
It was with long deliberation and consideration of the previous events that in the end it was decided that the job was a solo one, for him only to avenge. However, even if he hadn't rushed out to complete this on his own it was likely he would've been doing it by himself as the rest of the people under his command were afraid for their lives. It was lucky for them that this cowardice was not made known to him as he was leaving to continue, otherwise he'd have to put them to good use strengthening himself as if they weren't going to use their skills then he'd just have to instead.
The attacker hadn't shown any signs of habit for the people he attacked, it was a different location amongst different demographics each time with the only common thread being that whether or not it started out in public it would always end there. Although it was something it had been hard to determine if this was simply because of the assaulter's habits or if there was a deeper meaning to it. With this in mind Khy thought that there was only one way that he would be able to catch him in the act and try to stop whomever it was. He would have to fly around the areas he had been hitting around the spots he hadn't struck yet and wait to see if he could notice him as the attack was about to take place, although if he was a little late it didn't matter so long as he caught the person.
Despite its nature as a stakeout it felt exciting with a push towards a thrilling evening as he prepared to take off from a tree he had been using to scout, having seen as much as he could from a stationary position. Although he enjoyed the activity of physically flying he knew it was prudent to be stealthy in such an event that the attacker would be wary of someone coming at them from above. This way he felt he had an advantage in order to get the jump on the man as soon as he caught sight of him.
"I wonder what kind of person is doing this, and why?" The bat questioned himself as he looked down from the sky, his eyes on the treeline and the outskirts of the city where he could come rushing from at any moment. "Maybe he just wants to hear people scream, but that feels like a waste when there's others you can do it to and gain something from it."
The brands of evil others subscribed to or considered themselves often revealed more about their character then any other question would, and for the Archduke it was a complicated answer. In some matters he didn't consider himself evil, as he didn't truly understand the concept as it just seemed to him that anyone who opposed anothers morals could be considered evil. However, for some of the people who had gotten to know him it was true that his was a hint of self-motivation and preservation to his even though he could be vicious for cruelty's sake. An image of a man he had fed on simply because he was the first to walk into an alley and end up sliced into bite-sized chunks.
As usual it was his ears that caught wind of something before the rest of him had, turning and tuning into the source of something in the distance of the direction he was traveling. Once it registered in his brain his eyes would turn to follow along with the rest of his head and body following soon after to follow in the direction of the noise. While of course his curiousity had been peaked he hoped that it had to do with the case instead of something random as he might usually. The faster he found this guy the faster he would be able to shake him down and figure out the reason behind it.
Even though the noise had brought him closer into the city it as just as close to nature as he soon enough found himself over a park, trying to find the source as it echoed in his brain. There wouldn't be much time for him to give it any consideration as soon enough came another sound, this time much clearer as layered screams rang out into the air from the park below.
"Hmm, I hope this isn't them actually trying their hardest, although I guess some fast food does sound good." He joked as he thought about eating the victims before he turned his eyes back to the source of the attention. There was blasts of ki firing off from the ampitheater in the park, obstructed by the trees he knew he had to get closer to the situation. "Mm looks like this one is going to make me work for it."
As he would tuck his wings around his body the wind started to whistle around him telling him what he already knew, he was hurtling towards the scene of the attack hoping to rush the assaulter. It was only when he broke the treeline that he was able to finally see whom he was going to be dealing with, it wasn't someone with a weapon or some crazed person, no it was almost both at the same time. There was a woman who seemed to be in a great deal of distress, covered in mechanical attachments and implants that gave them an assortment of weaponry and gadgetry. Their mouth opened and suddenly a barrel popped out emitting ki as it charged up before firing a blast into the ground before whipping her head upward almost hitting Khy in the process.
"Aha, well it seems like this might be a bit more fun than I thought it was going to be, and my blood was already pumping." He said to himself as he made up his mind at that moment, rushing towards her while keeping himself silent so he could get the jump on her he was hoping for. "Well well, I guess I should introduce myself to my new opponent, I am Archduke Khyrop and this is my land."
"Death... is all that you will find." The voice cracked out with incredible raspiness, a bit of blood spilling and spitting out with their words. It sounded like they were in pain as they coughed and let out a few raspy breaths in between each word staring at Khy with cold malice that lacked a passion or care for him and told him that it was purely business for her. "I will feel nothing about your passing, it is merely an inevitability."
"Well, here I thought people considered me crude at times." He spoke with an agast tone as he held one hand over his chest and made a mocking gesture as if he was deeply offended. "I guess I shouldn't hold back when I choose to devour every last bit of you."
With their taunts serving as the starting bell for their fight it wasn't long before they would suddenly charge at one another, with Khy rushing at her from above while she sprinted on all fours like an approaching gorilla. In a way, both of them were incredibly intimidating as they put all their effort and skill into their fight with one another. Her arm would swing up at him like a mousetrap as he barely scraped by, turning around he would snap back with his fangs shearing flesh and metal. It was grizzly as the sounds of their combat were shrill from the clash of teeth and metal, along with his own animalistic screeches. However, he wasn't the only one as after she landed a solid hit on his ribcage she followed it up with a guttural scream into his sensitive ears.
"-Gah" He barely got out as he felt himself jarred for a moment before he would roll around in the air and regain his composure as he shook his head. It was all a bit disorienting but he wasn't going to let it get to him, he stared at the creature with a bit of irritation driving him at this point. "Well, I guess you'e more of a nuisance than I thought you'd be."
"Here I thought you weren't capable of much thinking at all." She responded with the same indifference as before, her mouth unhinging as her jaw opened wide for her cannon to point outwards again.
He was lucky enough to see what she had done before giving him enough sense to suddenly dash up into the air at the fastest speeds he could gather with his energy. With his body turning into light nearly as he pushed himself to his limit it was barely enough as once again a large pillar of light would come ripping through the earth and sending it flying into the ear and tossing everything here and there without any care. To him, it only seemed like the prelude to her real attack as he flew higher and higher before suddenly stopping.
As he turned around and saw her preparing to do the same thing again he would take a quick dash downward as he started to charge Ki before suddenly stopping as he would stare her down in the eye, saying one thing before he couldn't "Die."
With their sentiments for one another finally aligned he would match her attack as he opened his own mouth widely, a beam charging as he gathered all the air in his lungs to prepare for his Supersonic Cannon. At the same moment, they let it loose as energy tore through the sky before eventually crashing into one another in the sky. Each of their attacks pulsed as they clashed with them struggling against one another in the struggle for their fight. As they gave more energy to their perspective techniques hoping to win out until one of them had finally given more than the other had. Khy was more determined in the end as he screeched louder and louder all the while putting more into the blast until it would press right into his enemy's face.
"This isn't over!" She cried out as she took the blast shearing off parts of his skin and outer armor as she was soon enough stripped down to the barest of her protections, Then all of the sudden her stomach opened up revealing a core that was speeding up, overheating, and charging until it would be ready to blow and destroy them both. "You will perish here."
"I think you're wrong once again, it's time for a rude awakening, and then Ill give the same to your creators." He spoke with a personal irritation, deciding to make getting rid of them a goal of his when he would get the chance, charging his energy as his body began to phase between states. "I've been waiting for this sort of chance."
With his form already shifting between solid and light state, he knew that it was the perfect time for him to attempt something that might otherwise be considered reckless. With his wings beating at full power he flew towards her while using his ki-powered flight to push him forward at the same time. He stayed low while using aerodynamics and gravity to slingshot towards her reaching out with claws and catching on before suddenly rocketing into the sky. It wouldn't be long before they were suddenly far above their battleground, with a look of surprise on her face he would use the momentum he had built from flying up to spin and throw her even higher up into the sky.
"You DAMN BASTAAR-" Her words echoed out in pain as she spoke filling the sky as she would disappear into the sky above, no words coming as she drifted out of eyesight.
It was as she reached this point that the explosion would suddenly go off, this would create a brilliant flash of light and clouds as it spread out evenly in the sky. While the entire sight was beautiful there was no time to revel in it as the shockwave and heat spread out in a flash. Nothing of her was left as both pieces and flesh would burn up and be destroyed by her own attack without getting anyone else. It was a bit of an intense plan but it had worked against her and they would end up feeling nothing but shame as they were foiled by Khyrop.
"See you thought I was just shit-talking, no it was just me making delayed promises." He spoke with the same confidence all the while walking forward to examine anything that could be left. With his wings he would stir around the ashes and then let out a soft sigh, it was so utterly normal for such a situation like this to happen that he found it a bit annoying he was dealing with this kind of people instead of fighting. " Mm well, it's complete and here I am still to finish my goals."
Once he was done speaking to the corpse he would grasp any of the remains that seemed valuable and gather them in a bag. It only made sense to him to gather whatever was useful while also trying to humiliate them all at the same time as he shit-talked the girl so that way anyone who was listening could tell. The tactic made sense in his mind as he tried to intimidate all or anything that listened but that wouldn't protect him entirely from being beaten by anyone who could actually tell what was going on. With this all out of the way he decided that it was time to finally leave and go off.
The job was completed and the threat was neutralized to the point that it was hard to consider that there was actually more to it than originally believed. While it would've been easy for him to just leave the situation and never deal with it again, however, what was more important to the bio-android was getting the resources for completing the task. While they would've been happy with eating them as usual this time had been more stressful so they had to make sure that it was none that they had defeated him in the first place. He was the only one there at the time to fight her, but there was no direct proof for that which he had to show in order to have solved the case and pay for it.
With her remains on him Khyrop would fly by the station and drop them off, he would wait until they would come out and then he would even jump a few or two of them as he grabbed too much stuff and needed them to see all the pieces. It was then when they understood what was going on and got the cash ready that everything would be truly completed. He was happy to do the task, and accept payment but it didn't mean that he was just going to let it rule him. It was a useful resource so he would know how to use it, who to give it to, and to who else you should be trusting with your life.
"This was like taking candy from well anyone, I guess it's easy to get people when you can briefly turn to light." He teased himself as he would grab the reward once it was all counted and he could focus on other things. "i need to see what else I'll be able to do on my next patrol, maybe there will be someone else to run into but who knows."
It might've all seemed a bit much but he had hoped that these types of fights and experiences were the best way for him to get stronger. However, with this fact, this one had seemed not only more powerful than originally stressed but also had given him more time to think and grow on it. He would have to learn more about these types of things before going on them, but he was sure that it meant he would gain valuable information that would work with their appliances but also take out enemy organizations they might run into along the way.
With complete satisfaction on his mind about the mission having debriefed and talk to friends about dinner, he was able to take his reward and feel satisfied that night as he saves up money to get more things eventually. It was all a long process towards everything but he understands that the more patient he is towards it the better it could end up working out for him, He would go to night satisfied afterward thinking of how had been a great help..
