The Time had arrived.
The moment the light had risen on this new day on King Kai’s Planet in Otherword, the Guardian of the Northern Galaxy knew it was time to go and have a talk with Callion over what was happening on the planet Earth. Both hands rubbed the very temples of his forehead aimlessly. Every detail of the ‘talk’ that he was trying to picture in his mind when preparing to speak to Callion hit him mentally as foreign; sure, he’d been here before with the others during the dread times of Goku fighting freiza before the original Planet Namek blew up, but this was rather different. Having taken the time necessary to formulate a plan on how to talk to the Saiyan was rather difficult to say the least, and the only way that this was even going to work was to be direct. He walked back and forth in a pace, thinking to himself in how to make all of this work, let alone ensuring that Callion was able to unlock the true power that was hiding inside of him. So he decided to go back inside the house and find the Saiyan who he thought was asleep. That was his assumption, but this time, he must have finally given a chance to be correct for once. It did nothing but place a smile on his face.
Now? It was only harder from here.
When a challenge was met and he was met at last, it could only increase his worry for it. But alas, he was still in the mist of figuring out how to exactly do this. It was not like him to lose his memory over events, but then again what if it was ever going to play out part for part in his mind? This was going to be a rough day. That was just the title of the amount of tragedy and mayhem which takes over when this was all going to be over. Saiyans have a tendency to lash out when there was bad news that involved something or someone that was important to him, and even for a Saiyan who was so calm and centred, even he would have limits. Callion continued to slumber peacefully in the bed, and it was only until the several nudges from King Kai that the Saiyan Monk was slowly lulled from his sleep, looking at his master in a lazily asleep state.
Callion took the moment to yawn, stretching out his upper body and slowly got into a sitting up position, slowly shaking his head with his long, lion-like Saiyan mane of a hair wriggled about freely before turning to face his master.
“King Kai? What’s going on master? It’s early morning. Besides, didn’t you say there was no training to be done today?” Callion asked King Kai, raising his eyebrow at the guardian of the Northern Galaxy with a raised eyebrow, wondering what exactly was troubling the master of all things. Though by the look on his face, it was something rather serious… Deadly serious.
“Sorry from disturbing your sleep there Callion… But we got to talk. Come with me.” King Kai respectfully asked Callion to follow him out of the house and make his way out of the house, even the tone of his voice spoke volumes of what was to come, and the Saiyan managed to catch that right off the bat even with himself being practically half-asleep; it was enough to even get him wide awake and alert. King Kai himself never thought on how the hell that came to be part of him, as he remembered the days of the Saiyan’s transformation – but all of this was necessary. With that behind him, it made social interactions much easier, but now with the Saiyan awake it came down to the very simple question:
How does one even begin the talk?
As Callion followed King Kai outside the small house pondering, he heard the soft patters of whispering amongst Gregory, Bubbles and King Kai all huddled together. So, he could see that something strange was indeed going on. If he was that type of man he would have gotten up to join them, and quite honestly he was. He twisted his body to get that early morning stretch to have the blood flowing once again, still feelings the effects of having just got out of bed. His arms curled and then stretched out, with his entire body tensing to crack and pop his bones. He at-least knew the time had come to, at last, ask what was going on and with all the secrecy just had to come to an end.
“You see King Kai, I’ve been wanting to talk to you about something for some time now. I was wonderin-”
Everything felt as though it had gone dark around him as if where he had stood was nothing but a dire warning. Now he could feel the tension in the air. His facial expression lost its smile and he switch it out with a serious face and he looked at the trio before him. He knew what this meant. His senses were working overtime to a ludicrous degree. Callion took several steps more forwards towards the trio with a little more caution in his steps. His eyes were set on them with a much degree of curiosity, just like a dog. At-least now this was the moment in time where everything, no matter if it was good or bad was about to be revealed to all members of the party.
“Callion, It’s about time you need to learn what’s been going on.” King Kai spoke looking him over a few times. He had to be careful in how to talk to the Saiyan, which were creatures of immense powers when used in the right direction, so anything can set them into a fiery explosion if not properly careful. King Kai was needless to say very worried. This one Saiyan measured over 6 feet. He was surprisingly taller than most saiyans compared to those that came before him, something odd as if he had a dietary food that was not off the variety sort compared to other species during his infancy.
“There is something that you need to see that involves the planet Earth.”
“The planet Earth? What is going on down there King Kai? I’ve been wanting to talk to you about that ever since I’ve been training in this place. Every time I have tried to bring up that question, you have constantly been either dodging the question or changed the topic to something else. That needs to stop.” Callion’s eyes were fixated on him. “If something bad is going down on the planet, I need to know. I realise I can’t do much since I am dead, but if you’re meaning to tell me that someone else is causing trouble, then I have the right to know.”
Bubbles bit onto his fingernails, almost taking off his fingers. He then scratched at his chest oddly and Callion rose an eye brow to how odd he was acting. Bubbles caught on to how he was looking at him and then he did his casual monkey like dance to remove the tension.
“You’re right, you do have the right to know. But you need to understand that the events that are happening on Earth right now is because of your death. You seem to have made quite the impressionable reputation with those you have interacted with, and since the news has now spread… They haven’t taken it so well at all.”
This was the first time Callion had heard of such a thing happening. He knew there were multiple people, hailing from a wide range of backgrounds that he interacted with, but he didn’t think they could possibly start going crazy since the news of his death had spread. After all considering the times he had managed to talk to people and got to know them, he couldn’t possibly believe they’d all start fighting one another because of it.
“What? Why would they do such a thing? Surely they wouldn’t go so far to start fighting each other because of what happened in West City right?” Callion crossed his arms and he looked down to King Kai. He thought of such things was practically foolish and impossible for anyone to behave in such a manner. The balance of that world would be very much destroyed by such powers in play. He needed to help with the process of what was being said right infront of him. But then again, this threat was something above that. What if the fighting took an even worse turn of events, and people were killed by what was going on? He certainly didn’t want that on his conscious, that was absolutely certain. That was when he listened to the next words that came out of his master’s mouth.
“It’s better if you see this for yourself… Come… Touch my shoulder and I will show you what is going on right now.”
What. This took him by surprise. Indeed, he did not know about this kind of ability that King Kai possessed at all, being able to see through his eyes from the afterlife all the way down to the planet Earth. This was unprecedented by any means to the imagination. He was a god, a renowned deity within the span of the Seventh Universe. The shock wasn’t that fact that he didn’t know that he was about to see what was going on. It was shock that it was happening and he was granted permission by his master. This was something unprecedented in every sense of the world, and it was now a fateful event that was going to upset the general balance of power. For the first time in a while, Callion had on an expression that did not fit him well. He was like a lost little boy. His eye lids had opened up and his mouth hung open.
This was the moment that made Callion sick.
To describe what was going on with the planet was something that the Saiyan couldn’t put down to words properly. Liari fighting against the Saiyans; something that he absolutely did NOT want to happen, preparing to kill each other, everything at an arms race to get so strong at the cost of harming the planet, and now even more lives were at risk. Curiosity had gotten the best of him immediately, and now he was paying the price for having to see what was happening.
“No… No…. No, no, no, no, no, no… What is going on!? Why are they all fighting each other! This isn’t want I wanted!! Why are they fighting!? WHY ARE THEY-”
“You failed them.”
Those three words were like a Spirit Bomb to the heart. The eerie quiet began to creep onto the Planet with the absolute worried look of Gregory and Bubbles on their faces at seeing the distraught look on the Saiyan. He tried to speak, but he was witnessing EVERYTHING that was happening down there, the fighting, the scheming, every good and evil action taking place. Callion wasn’t done with trying to comprehend it all in his mind. He failed? No, he couldn’t have… Surely his death meant SOMETHING right!?
“No… Impossible… How can I fail them!? ME BEING KILLED DOES NOT EQUAL TO ME FAILING THEM KING KAI!!” Callion’s eyes flared up to his master of fire and anger and his master could see the destination where this conversation was going. Wherever they were going with the conversation next, it was not going to be pretty. The very realm was quivering, and King Kai could sense… Something… Brewing within him, and it needed the extra push to break that barrier. This was the moment that decided the very fate.
“It is because of the Monk teachings of the Planet Bhupal prevented you from killing your enemies. You became soft on them, befriending others, and now they are paying the price for your weakness. You failed them in life. You failed as a Saiyan. You are a joke of the proud warrior race that existed for thousands of years of biological evolution.”
King Kai had never spoken in a more serious tone of his voice. That wonder and the fear of what there was to come had disappeared. It had arrived. Now it comes down to setting the chain reaction that was going to transformation Callion in the legendary Saiyan in pushing him to the brink of anger and fury. There was no going back at this point, for all the bridges were burnt, and now it had to come to the Saiyan alone to figure out how to acquire the power in his own right.
“What did you say?” Before he could get anymore angry, King Kai turned around and his facial look changed. He had become an angered teaching looking at his ‘failure’ of a student, a shame of the Saiyan race. The very words that he spoke to him had now inspired fear.
“Listen here little boy. Bringing you onto my very planet has been my greatest mistake. I see now that this has become nothing more but a huge waste of my time, and having taught you the Kaio-Ken had simply been for nothing. Because of your weakness, everyone that you had ever cared for and interacted with are going to die horrible deaths, that even I would never wish for my worst enemies. Your incompetence has doomed them all.”
Callion began to take several steps back with the fear on his face. The Saiyan heart palpitations had begun, the body twitching in the sheer anger and terror boiling over the many, incredibly long years of being contained within him now trying desperately to be free. The heart rate began to increase, his eyes vibrating, as he took several more steps back and placed both hands on his head, feeling the absolute pain and anger of it all, a vibrant wave of all emotions that were locked away erupting like a chain reaction inside of the Saiyan. He was being affected by this so much that the very Otherworld sky turned red, in the exact same colour as prior to the destruction of the original planet Namek by the hands of Lord Frieza. In this realm, everything began to violently shake. Even King Yemma fell from his chair, feeling the effects of what was happening and demanding an answer to what was going on, with many of the Ogres not having a clue, along with barely trying to keep the innocent, fiery souls calm.
“You want to know the worst part? I’ve seen your afterlife.. The dreams and desires. King Yemma sent them over to me while you being plucked from Death and into the Afterlife… You will never know if your parents are alive on Planet Vegeta… Nor will you ever be able to return to life again.”
This of course, was all a half-truth at best, a means to bring Callion to the breaking point. Though it was enough for Callion to snap, to finally break free from the two decades worth of some of the most intense mental barriers that was placed onto him ever since he arrived on the world that he was raised as a baby, and such time was now forever lost.
Callion’s right eye glowed a crimson red, the veins being visibly seen as it began to stare intently at King Kai with the full intention to kill. The look alone was enough to snap King Kai out from trying to act tough and immediately back away from what he had done, with Gregory and Bubbles hiding behind his back from seeing such a sight. Callion was screaming in pain, both hands firmly planted on his head, the hair slowly rising upward in the traditional Super Saiyan like fashion, but it wasn’t enough for him.
Even now, with all the barriers broke, Callion was STILL trying to fight the means to explode in anger, using every ounce of mental strength to calm him down.
This was dangerous.
King Kai had to resort to using his energy to form a barrier around the Saiyan when he saw a stream of pure Ki energy having blasted out from Callion’s body and having punctured a hole through the road of Snake Way, and piercing through the yellow clouds and into the Underworld. Several of these uncontrolled Ki stream beams fired out of callion’s body until King Kai had to intervene. Gregory was now completely panicing by this point in time, looking at Callion in a worried manner, and then back to King Kai, who knew how dire the situation was, but they couldn’t turn back. “CALLION! LISTEN TO ME! YOU GOT TO LET GO! IF YOU DON’T ALLOW YOUR EMOTIONS TO BE FREE YOUR BODY IS GOING TO KILL YOU! YOU CAN’T KEEP DOING THIS ANYMORE!!”
King Kai called out to Callion, who was seen struggling and flailing around in an uncontrollable state of pain, and torment. Not even the Ki barrier that King Kai was setting up was enough to stop the constant ki beams from firing out from all over Callion’s body in all directions, resulting in parts of Otherworld being bombarded with these stray energy blasts.
“YOU ARE NO LONGER CALLION THE MONK!! YOU ARE CALLION THE SAIYAN! NOW AND FOREVER!!”
That was the instant that Callion screamed with all the emotions that was bottled up inside of him that unleashed in a torment explosion.
“RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!.”
It was a fiery explosion unlike anything to be seen before in such a close range, the very planet of King Kai itself ruptured into pieces, only leaving his house to be unharmed in a miraculous state. Callion’s screaming and the energy shockwave caused everyone in a 50 mile radius to be flung backwards from the explosion, the sky now having turned a crimson red, and the Saiyan now adorned in a golden light. It was the death of one person…
And the birth of someone else…
“C… C…. Callion?”
King Kai called out to the Saiyan when everything began to calm down, having now standing on a patch of earth that was still stable, as the planet itself began to meld and recreate itself back to how it used to be. The Saiyan in question stood normally with his back turned on the trio. It was an eerie silence, and nothing like how Callion was meant to be behaving.
“I… I guess it worked King Kai… Callion has become a Super Saiyan…”
“I… I think you’re right Gregory… I- Wait… Something is not right.”
Indeed, something was not right at all. There was an unusual difference to the Super Saiyan transformation this time compared to normal. Whilst the many regular Super Saiyan forms were a Golden blonde look… Callion’s Super Saiyan form was that of a Platinum Blonde colour, paler in comparison to the traditional look. “Callion?” King Kai called out again, and as he did so, the Saiyan in question very slowly turned around and gazed at the God in question which made Bubbles, Gregory and King Kai himself quiver in fear.
His eyes; instead of being the classic Emerald Green… Were Ruby Red.
There was silence to such an unusual discovery, having never seen such a state of the Super Saiyan form before. It was terrifying and rather scary to look at. In seconds King Kai, Bubbles, and Gregory were sweating buckets and their blood turned cold from such a sight. Their breathing had accelerated, to such a high degree in never in their lives having witnessed such a different look to the transformation of the Legendary Super Saiyan before, and even every step that Callion took to make his way over towards King Kai felt heavy, as if the very gravity was being pushed down onto him from the steps.
“C-Callion… I-I know you’re angry right now. But I need you to-“ Before King Kai could even get a word out, he was met with a fist to the face that sent the respectful teacher straight through to the house and went flying out from the other side, having now just been hit with a powerful Oozaru Fist Technique – Something that Callion had just used for the first time in his life. The initial attack made Gregory and Bubbles scream in terror as they dashed towards King Kai to check up on the old master, and having to watch in fear as the Saiyan was slowly and eerily making his way towards the trio. “W-Wait Callion! There is a reason for all of this! King Kai had planned it all from the start to make you transform into the Super Saiyan!!” Gregory called out to Callion, telling him of King Kai’s initial plan from the start with King Kai himself nodding several time, rubbing his face from the painful hit.
Bubbles meanwhile held a full mirror infront of the Saiyan and seeing how much he had changed. His Lion like mane all standing up, his eyes now a Ruby Red colour, and the mentioned hair now a pale platinum blonde colour. He had to take a moment to silently look at his hands for a moment before looking towards King Kai who slowly got back up with a rather nasty bruise to the face from the hit.
“You planned this from the start? To make me angry?”
“… Yes…”
“Why?”
“In order for you to realise that you can no longer become the monk you were. You are a Saiyan; a warrior. That is part of your very genetic being. No longer can you be a person of the side-lines, when your whole ordeal is someone to be in the very thick of fighting. What I said about never being able to go back… I was lying. You have a way to being brought back to life. You ever heard of the dragon balls?” King Kai asked, with this ‘New’ Callion shaking his head from the answer. “They are powerful wish granting orbs, and all seven of them bring forth the mighty dragon Shenron, allowing you to have whatever wish you want come true. I have every confidence that you will be brought back to the world no problem…”
There was a silence between Master and Student, the two looking at one another for the moment before they both embraced one another in a hug. “I am sorry for having to keep this plan a secret from you all this time… Please forgive me Callion.” The Saiyan was still quiet, looking at Gregory and Bubbles and saw that the two were giving the Saiyan a thumbs up, wanting him to go along with everything. The Saiyan slowly looked back down to the hug and sighed.
“… Just teach me the Spirit Bomb and we’re even.”
With that, the two managed to settle their difference and now prepared on the next and final step of the plan for Callion’s reason to being here on Otherworld, learning the ultimate power that can destroy worlds and also save countless lives in the process. The very move that toppled legends and forged new heroes, and using the very power of countless worlds and lifeforms in the midst.
The power of the Spirit Bomb.
For that, Callion eventually faded from his Super Saiyan form, and when King Kai had expected for the Saiyan to revert back to his old, charming and comedic self… He never did. No, he was the exact same mannerism from the moment he turned into a Super Saiyan, a bittersweet feeling developed within the master, realising just now what he had done. In a way, he had systematically murdered the old Callion, and in it’s place was brought back the original true Callion that the monks had to contain within.
Gone was Callion the Monk.
Now…
Callion the Saiyan was reborn.
