He couldn't have ever expected Yardrat to provide him with everything it did, the techniques he learned was just something else entirely. From the Spirit Control to the instant transmission and the one he was about to learn, being the Spirit Fission. They were all so useful and practical and techniques he had never ever seen before. Though that wasn't even the highlight of this trip so far, not only was he learning such amazing techniques but he had managed to become a Super Saiyan, it was something he didn't even know existed, something that must have been so rare that it hadn't even been heard of for hundreds of years. He had never heard one other being discuss such a form and yet, he unlocked it here.
Along with all of that, he had also managed to find all the time in the world to improve upon all the techniques he wanted too. From the very first techniques he ever created to some of the more recent ones he learned, Yardrat had provided him with a window to really focus on himself and who he wanted to be. It gave him all the time to practice and evolve everything about him and it was so perfect. The amount of time he got training in the chamber and out, he felt that he was so much stronger, wiser, calmer and just all around better but he knew he still had a lot of work to do. Even though he had improved all of his former techniques and developed some new ones, he had still wanted to improve upon his instant transmission. He wanted to be able to focus so much faster on his target and make it all around easier and ditching the whole two finger thing did really seem like a must have.
The only real thing Athren could do to master this would be to use the technique frequently and focus and he'd do just that, though he'd try to pick far off target. Firstly, he'd focus on Pybara and instant transmission to him. Given he was on the other side of the planet it was a rather appropriate first target. Athren would focus on Pybara for no more than an instant before teleporting to him. Athren didn't use his fingers to help him focus. Immediately after his feet touched down in Pybara's hut Athren would pick another target on Yardrat, anybody far enough away that he could do it again.
Athren would continue this pattern time and time again, picking different and unique targets and teleport to them in an instant. The key was that he wasn't going to take a long time to really focus on his target, he was just going to read their signature and teleport and that's exactly what he'd do. It didn't really matter about the power level they were displaying or their location, so long as he could feel them out to teleport, he would.
Now this wasn't necessarily a lot of fun for him but he did know that practice made perfect and he couldn't afford anything less than that. Athren had held himself to such an unbelievable and high standard that it'd nearly be impossible to reach that height, but it wouldn't stop him from trying. He would never know what he was going to face out in the universe, he didn't know how strong his next opponent would be or the one after that, all he knew is that every single technique of his had to be flawless and ready. He couldn't even waste a second using them, he couldn't afford to waste a single moment.
Every second mattered when it was life and death and that was a lesson learned the hard way, he had to make sure he would prevent that lesson from ever happening again. He needed to be the best he possibly could be and there wasn't going to be any kind of excuse for failure. He wouldn't allow it. His rapid teleportation wouldn't stop as he continued to pick new targets and teleport to their position, it was starting to become more natural, faster and his focus was sharpened. The goal in mind pushed him to focus with a crystal clear mindset, there was no distractions, no thoughts in his head holding him back, he just stayed on his task.
The more he did it the faster he was able to do it, the problem wasn't focusing on the individuals energy, but the act of getting there which was the delay. That focus alone in wanting to teleport was the challenge but he was slowly getting better with it, faster, more rapid and much more precise. Though as he continued to practice his technique he couldn't help but think of what other uses it might have, like mixing in an offensive technique with it to surprise an opponent, hell.. that'd be something else, something unique, cool and unexpected.
Though he was getting better, he still wanted to expand it further. Though he was shaving seconds off the focus it took, he still had more room to grow, more room to improve and he wouldn't stop.
Athren was far too stubborn to let something sit with him incomplete or at a stage where it was lacking, he did that for far too long with his Nova Cannon and his Nova Punch and he'd never do that again. He needed to be at the top of his game for the rest of his life with a variety of powerful and honed techniques, strategies and skill. His past self had already showed him what being slightly unprepared could cost and it costed him everything. He wouldn't allow it again, he'd be ready for every scenario, every situation and he'd never lose like that, not once more in his life. He was determined and pushing to make sure that his skills were honed. Though for the instant transmission, it would just take a little bit more effort.
