Callion felt the cool breeze from his fast flight hitting his face, while the warm light of Otherworld lightly baked his back as he travelled from one section of the Afterlife that was within King Kai’s Planet general vicinity to the next, he was focused on getting more and more in touch with the speed and general pattern in getting his energy in order to deal with the ten times gravity on his Master Planet. Not all was well though, for King Kai was nervous about the events that were taking place on the planet below – noticing a particular battle going on between Liari, Quash, and Jorey that was currently undergoing right now, but King Kai knew he didn’t have the heart to tell Callion; yet it may come to a time, that he will have to eventually, especially if such a battle was going to happen which he’d see was true, that the Power Levels of those that were fighting were going to cost more lives to be lost in such an awful manner. Callions’ own power level had managed to exceed King Kai’s expectations ever since arriving on his planet at what he could feel was alot; he had noticed the confidence in Callion, believing that Liari would stick true to her word and stay the course in being able to dispose Zero, yet if that was to be made untrue, then there was the aspect of everything he believed in falling flat first onto his face.
King Kai would have to tell him one way or another, even if it was going to hurt in more ways than one.
Callion flew for quite a while, not really noticing anything significant anywhere he looked. Mostly it was the tops of yellow clouds that surrounded the entire area; only Snake Way, Princess Snake’s Castle (Which he had… Many visits during his time with meeting with the lady herself), and King Kai’s planet were essentially visible. He had startled Gregory and Bubbles, who appeared to be busy playing a game of cards – a game that bubbles was winning a lot apparently, to Callions’ eyes. He ignored this and quickly flew by, hoping to get a few more flight laps around King Kai’s Planet some more before finally stopping.
At last, on the arrival of the twelve in the afternoon, Callion landed on the surface below with a stretch of his body and a big smile on his face. It was an improvement that was to be sure, finally having somewhat adjusted to Kai’s world a lot better now ever since arriving here, making sure to stretch his legs and arms after the vigorous flight all over the place. Callion sighed with a big smile on his face after another successful morning warm up exercise, though now having to deal with the sudden playful attacks by Bubbles and Gregory who he seemingly interrupted their game once again, that he had to – once again – apologize for ruining another card game. King Kai had no idea if Callion knew how to take bad news or not, so he figured he should play it safe. Looking around, King Kai could tell this was sadly not the time to tell him, whilst the Saiyan Monk was strong, he knew that he was not yet ready for the fateful day to tell the Saiyan what was going on on Earth. What honestly mattered more than ever what that for Callion to be ready to learn the Kaio-Ken for any situation that he may come across, and if the situation was indeed dire, then he’d have no choice but to learn the Spirit Bomb itself; the very fateful move that destroyed many great opponents, and inflected serious harm to those that did survive the onslaught.
King Kai wasn’t really sure with how he was going to address the situation in the future, but figured he would figure it out as he went. He made it his goal to keep a very watchful eye on the situation on Earth, making sure that the others were going to be safe, provided anyone else did not die that is. Once Callion was free from the tyrannical grasp and playfight with Bubbles and Gregory, King Kai would speak to the Saiyan thusly; “Well Callion, I think you’re ready for the second step to learning the Kaio-Ken. You’ve done pretty well so far, but I think we can take this up another notch. Would do you say? You ready for the second step to your training?” King Kai asked with a toothy grin on his face, the Saiyan having turned his full attention to the Guardian of the North Galaxy with a smile a nod, performing his signature bow of respect to his master once Gregory and Bubbles left, the thrill of another opportunity to get stronger always did entice the Saiyan with delight.
“You better believe I am ready for the next step to the training King Kai, lay it on me and tell me what I have to do. I’m more than ready to knock it out of the park.” Callion replied with his rather obvious answer, the look on his eyes the rising of his energy, it was all evident that he was motivated and ready to start another round of his training to get taken to new heights and be even further prepared for the challenges ahead of him. For the moment, King Kai smiled with a devious delight on his face, clicking his hands for Bubbles to show up infront of the Saiyan, as the Saiyan Monk now had a hammer that was now being held with both his hands, and nearly dropped to the floor, realising now just how heavy the weapon is. “Gaaaah! What the!? What is this? Why am I holding a Hammer and why is it so darn heavy?” Callion gritted his teeth, trying desperately to slowly lift the Hammer up, just barely getting it up from the ground, looking at hammer in disbelief.
King Kai, on the other end, was laughing with glee as he wiped his tear, cheering up at the idea of his student having to struggle at having to pick up the weapon. “Well, I did tell you about the Ten times gravity right? Not to mention the Hammer is made of an alloy that is rather heavy for most mortals to even lift, so you better put some muscle to that grip, and make sure you’re precise.” He continued, pointing directly at the Hammer itself before going to sit down in his usual spot to enjoy the show before him. As for Bubbles? He was busy doing the signature dance of his that was beginning to irritate the Saiyan Monk a little, Callion using both hands to pull the Hammer up, unleashing his ki to use to augment his power just enough for him to slowly get the weapon off the ground and up into the air. “Huh… Huff… I… Puff… Got it! Alright Bubbles! Let’s see if you can swing yourself out of this!!” In that moment, Callion began to chase after Bubbles with the intention to bonk the monkey on the head whilst King Kai had to think about what it was that the Saiyan said before realising that he made another classic joke and engaged into another fit of laughter.
The training, needles to say was rather difficult to carry through and ensure that he’d be able to be successful in the long run, every swing that he tried to land a decisive impact on Bubbles head was instead slammed to the ground, leaving a rather obvious hammer sized hole in the ground, that was followed by a crater, and the planet having to quiver and shake before such strength being used for Callion to be fully capable of lifting and moving the weapon around. King Kai was shaking in his chair, remembering the last time such lessons were carried out on his planet. “H-Hey Callion! Why don’t you try to limit the impact!” King Kai offered his sagely advice now and again, though it was met with only deaf ears, for he was far too focused in making sure he could land a hit on the monkey. Every focus and determination that was on the Saiyan Monks face wall poured onto the attempt to hit Bubbles squarely on the head, and every time he had the chance, where it looked as though he was going to hit him squarely on the head, he missed with Bubbles unleashing a torrent of speed that saw the monkey speed down a single line ahead of Callion where he smacked the hammer onto the earth below him and creating a larger crater than last time. All of this was getting rather ridiculous to say the least, with every single attempt being a miss, he knew he had to succeed in this training in order to land a decent sized bonk to the head.
Yet, this was all annoying and getting him irritated none the less. Swing and a miss, again once more, every time became the exact same thing, and he could see just how much of a progress he was making in being able to getting closer towards the opportunity to hitting Bubbles. Even King Kai; long after he recovered from his laughing fit, took noticed to how he was approaching his goal all the faster and not to mention being prepared to landing a very solid hit to his pet monkey on the head, amazed by the progress that – despite the disadvantage in the terms of gravity and the heavy weapon that he was slugging around with both hands, that he was approaching the task until it was sure enough going to be completed with all due haste. “Come on… HIT! HIT HIM CALLION!!” The Saiyan was shouting at himself, pushing forward ever more, managing to trip several times, the energy that was now being exerted was now focused internally, using it as a means of preservation in making sure he had the strength to move his body a little more freely with the hammer in his hands, and just as he does so after closing his eyes and concentrating hard on the task ahead, Callion leaped up into the air and deciding to go for the single shot to bubbles’ head. This actually caught the monkey by surprised, the fear of a Saiyan that was coming down directly on top of him at such a fast pace didn’t exactly give Bubbles the time to escape, for he was sure to get more of a bonk on the head at this rate.
However, there was just one small problem, Callion showed no signs of slowing down… Or the fact that he could even stop for that matter. The Look on the Saiyan Monk’s face rather said it all in it’s entirely; the input of speed of such a collision connected, the two erupting in a nuclear like mushroom cloud of dirt and dust, King Kai and even Gregory were blown away from the blast and had to run towards the crash site. “Hey! I thought I said for you boys to take it easy with this training segment! Not go full at it with the planet! Now it’s going to take me forever to clean up this mess and get my planet to looking like how it was before!!” King Kai scolded the Saiyan and Bubbles, unbelieving that he had to now treat him just like a similar Saiyan from long ago that turned the angered Kai into a more joyful and reimagining individual, and at least he saw the situation with the two by Callion landing on top of Bubbles with a raised fist and poor Bubbles with a very big ouch hammer mark on his head, that was going to be needing a trip to the first aid box and get the two all fixed up, and it sure enough was a good thing that spirits and souls of Otherworld can’t die like they were alive.
Yet there was the recess for the training with King Kai having to bandage Callion up and Bubbles together for the moment whilst letting out a gentle sigh, “Honestly, I can’t believe the pair of you. When I said for you two to take it easy, I damn well meant it! Good grief, I knew Saiyans were a bunch of boneheads, but I could’ve very well had some hope that at least you having been trained by the monks would’ve learnt some form of restraint Callion!” King Kai scolded the Saiyan Monk, bonking him on the head as a disciplinary result, with the deceased soul moaning from the pain from the mighty blow from his master. “Ow!! OK! I said I was sorry! Yeesh! I didn’t expect you to be so uppity with this! I mean, King Yemma telling me about Snake Way wasn’t so bad, and I didn’t exactly have good control with the hammer from the weight of the darn thing and the planet for that matter!” Callion replied, looking over infront of him to see the vast glory that was the legendary Snake Way infront of him.
Snake way was a long and twisted road, spikes stuck into the air from the edges to help prevent the small number of travellers that did manage to pass by from falling into the golden light lit clouds. The spikes had more of a reason than just to guard the edge, it was not the fall that King Yemma really cared about, it was the Souls he cared about. King Yemma believed that all souls were innocent and filled with purity until they were judged by him and deemed to be sent to where they were going. He set up things like tour guides, buses, and other small events to help the innocent souls pass their time while they waited in the line for them to be judged. He was a good King, that was most likely the reason that he was judge jury and executioner for as long as he had been. The people all knew of their King, the fair and just man that’s stature was as tall as he was, a giant in the literal and figurative sense. With all this that he had planned and done for the pure souls he held so dear he never imagined that something like this could have happened when it did, and that he even pointed out the way for Callion to get to King Kai’s Planet definitely earnt him his respect.
King Kai simply responded with another bonk on the Saiyan’s head, which was mind with yet a second yelp in pain from the Saiyan in response; “Well you should be thankful to me then since I was the one that authorised you to make your way over here! Seriously, just be more careful in your training for future notice. Alright? Well, at least I can safely say that you managed to pass part one of the challenge, so you can give yourself a pat on the back for that my boy.” King Kai said, giving Callion a thumbs up, for the news was enough to have the Saiyan Monk sigh with a relief. “Oh great, I was really not looking forward to- Wait, what do you mean part one? You mean it’s not over?” Callion asked with a raised eyebrow in a questionable manner to his master, “Of course it’s not over yet! So you better go grab that hammer up because it’s Gregory’s turn.” His master spoke, pointing towards the floating Cricket Spirit that was levitating in mid air with a coy smirk on his face.
The Saiyan squinted his eyes at the creature, clicking his neck from side to side as he soon enough began to remove the bandages off from him and went to pick back up the hammer, getting a little more adjusted to the weight of the weapon before smirking back at the cricket. “Don’t’ you worry. I’ll make this look easy.” The Saiyan said before throwing the hammer down at what he assumed was the Cricket’s head with an increase in speed and velocity, causing the earth beneath them to quiver and shake before his might, only to lift up the hammer and saw that Gregory was not there, catching the Saiyan completely by surprise. “What? Where did he go?” Callion called to question, looking left and right before he heard the snickering and laughing noises coming from his master and Bubbles, both of them at the same time pointing upwards to reveal the very cricket spirit pulling a silly face to antagonise the Saiyan.
“Nyeh Nyeh! What was that? My grandma can throw a hit faster then that Saiyan! Better come and catch me if you caaan!” Gregory jeered with a merry delight on his face, causing Callion to grit his teeth and chance after the cricket spirit, having zero intention to allow this transgression to slip by him for a moment, one way or another he was going to not only teach Gregory some manners and respect, but he was going to give him more than just a mere bonk on the head, he was going to offer the creature a headache that he was certainly not going to forget… That was originally meant to be the case until Callion witnessed that the spirit was a lot faster than he anticipated than compared to Bubbles! If anything, he only had to blink and the cricket was from one location to the next, moving around with a blue sphere of agility happily giggling to himself with the sluggish Saiyan that was being weighed down by the gravity to try and desperately catch up to the little troublemaker. Yup, this was indeed going to be a very long session, one in which King Kai himself was having a hell of a good time in witnessing Callion try desperately to bonk the cricket on the head for such disrespect.
Hours on end this carried out, neither one backing down; Callion working up more than just a mere sweat, and Gregory? Well, he was having the time of his life! Being able to so easily duck and weave from the very poor and sluggish attacks that would’ve been able to hit Bubbles, but not for the Cricket Spirit. No, no, he was far too fast to be hit and there were no signs of stopping the monstrous little tike from letting off from running away. “Come on now Callion, you better step up the pace! You got people to save and protect on Earth, you can’t look after them if you’re going to be stuck with me, right?” Now that was something to make Callion stop in his tracks, his eyes widening at the prospect on the people on Earth, that caught King Kai’s attention that made a sharp turn look at the Saiyan and Bubbles to hide inside the house. There was an energy that was trying desperately to break free, something that King Kai saw deep within the Saiyan’s soul; a power that was locked away in all manner of chains and self-preservation from the untold years of training with the Monsu Monks of Planet Bhupal – the very Orc like being that appeared to have caught King Kai’s Ire a little. “There it is… The need… It’s there, I can see it. But it’s locked away… It’s almost time for him to become the Legendary Super Saiyan… But not yet, he’s not ready. All that power inside just waiting to explode in a fiery explosion… Just what on the blazes did those monks do to calm the Warrior Spirit…” King Kai thought in his mind in an agitated state, as in an afterimage like flash Callion disappeared, causing King Kai and Gregory to gasp from the sudden shift in speed, the cricket had to take a moment to look upward.
Callion was charging down right ontop of the Cricket like a comet and then came crashing down ontop of cricket. However, unlike Bubbles, Gregory managed to get out of harms way safe and sound.
Once more in his’ egomanical manner, Gregory began to chuckle and laugh once more to see Callion in the same damaged state as before. “Hahahahah! Oh come on Callion, don’t tell me you thought that the same old trick that worked on Bubbles was going to work on me now right? Come on, you have to try a little harder than that now.” The cricket spirit taunted and teased, flying around in circles. The Saiyan monk on his part, slowly arose from the crater, his eyes darting at the cricket spirit whilst he dragged the hammer up the crater and back onto the surface. “Ohohoho… I’m going to get you for this, big time now.” He replied back with a smile on his face whilst the cricket gulped with frantic worry. “O-Oooh boy…WELL YOU STILL GOT TO HIT ME CALLION!” Just like that, the chase was back on, both of them neither giving up and now it was Callion’s turn, despite the injuries was actually managing to get all the closer towards his goal with hitting Gregory on the head, and the spirit was determined to make sure that didn’t happen – regardless of the cost of damages it was doing to the environment around the planet. Little by little, each swing was getting closer to the goal of bonking him on the head, and gregroy saw how this was happening before his eyes. “What!? It hasn’t been two weeks! How is he able to catch up and adapt this quickly! Alright, let’s see if he can handle a little more speed!”
With that in mind, Gregory put more speed, the ball of aura surrounding the cricket began to glow as he continued to move forward in the same position with a lot more energy to the acceleration. But as he turned around, he saw that Callion was catching up, but there was something odd to this time. Callion didn’t have the hammer in his hands, “H-Hey! Where’s the hammer!? You’re supposed to be using a hammer to hit me on the he-“ Though before Gregory could question the whereabouts of the hammer, Callion ducked and as he did so, both hands grabbed onto the flying Hammer that rocket from the other direction, landing a direct blow against the spirit, sending poor Gregory right into King Kai’s house, with a cricket sized hole from the initial impact with the Saiyan now having collapsed onto the soft, earth like ground with a groan and a thud. King Kai, on the other hand, witnessed the entire course of the segment go down, amazed to have not only seen somewhat of the same trick that Goku once used on Gregory having worked again, but now he has to go and repair the little hole in his house. It was official, in this very case, Callion had managed to pass the second step of the training course and he did so in a mixture of strength and speed to help push him to new heights of power, something that he was aiming to go and acquire through his intellect, analysing the situation and using the means to make it work. King Kai walked over to the Saiyan that was on the floor and smiled.
“Well, I got to say. You have passed the second stage of the training.” King Kai spoke to Callion giving a rather weak thumbs up to his master. “See? Told you I’d be up and willing to acquire the gains necessary.” He replied with a chuckle, huffing and wheezing from the exerted strength in not only having to carry and wield the hammer in all manner of directions, but the energy output in just being able to lift the damned thing was enough to tire him out. “Oh, that you did indeed. Just one thing Callion… DID YOU REALLY HAVE TO KNOECK GREGORY INTO MY HOUSE! NOW I HAVE TO REPAIR THE WALL!!” King Kai shouted causing Callion to jump with freight, whilst Gregory was laughing after making an appearance once again. “Hahahah! You got in trouble! Hahahahah!” Though much to the Cricket Spirit’s surprise, he was caught by King Kai’s grip, as he started to wriggle the little guy about, “Don’t think you’re off the hook Gregory! How could you fall for the same trick that Goku managed to surprise you, and you fell for it!” The Guardian of the Northern Quadrant asked, shaking him about. As for Bubbles? Well, bubbles was doing his usual thing in dancing around and minding his own business.
“W-Whaaat!? That was Years ago!! How was I supposed to know that a Saiyan was going to use the same trick that the previous guy used! Come on! Cut me some slack here!!” Gregory defiantly shouted back as he was being shook around like a rag doll. For the Saiyan? Well, he was just glad that it was all over for now, and in the moment, he could very well use the opportunity to rest, recover and most importantly in this time, to relax his body.
Several days had past since the second training, and Callion continued to focus on improving his body whilst King Kai, Gregory and Bubbles were having a Tea Party together, all three of them were watching his development and growth, fighting with an extra padded layer of weights, dealing with the increased sluggish movements of his body whilst using the moment to pump out more ki energy to get him to fully move about and fight. “You know… He really has managed to progress so quickly ever since he got here you know? It’s rather remarkable that Callion has got this far.” Gregory spoke with bubbles nodding his head in agreement, though King Kai was still more perplexed. “Mmm… Perhaps you’re right Gregory, but I am still unsure myself.” King Kai responded, with the little spirit standing up on the table and walked over towards the very Kai and placed both of his insect like hands on his hips. “Oh? And why's that? Don’t tell me you still haven’t told him what’s going down on Earth right?” Gregory asked in disbelief that only became more reinforced with King Kai having shook his head that indicating no; he did not tell Callion what was happening on earth.
This news was rather shocking to Gregory in disbelief, looking from the Saiyan that was still practicing on his own in peace then back to King Kai, having to make sure he kept his voice down. “W-What!? What do you mean you haven’t told him!? Just hold long do you honestly intend to keep this a secret from a Saiyan of all things!? He needs to know the truth with what is going on down there, and all those people! You don’t know what else is bound to happen, and that’s not counting the loss of life as well!” King Kai sighed at the several points the cricket spirit made, naturally of course he knew the risks, but there was a reason for all of this, especially wanting the desire to see if Callion had what it takes to become the very fabled entity that the Saiyans before him had become during the good old days. “I know Gregory, I know. I am doing this intentionally to make sure that I am certain he has what it takes to become the Legendary Super Saiyan like the others back in the day. But I am worried all those years of monk training may have ruined any changes of such a thing from even happening.”
Gregory and Bubbles took a look at Callion; still busy in his personal combat training, who then decided to take himself airborne in the fighting department. The Saiyans arms and legs thrown in all directions, moving at a more hastened pace than before, until coming back down to rest and recuperate from the extensive training regimen. “Ooooh… Well, I don’t know about that. You know how those Monsu Monks are like. They are so dedicated to learning spiritual Enlightenment they put all manner of emotions under heavy lock and key. I’m not so sure Callion even has what it takes to go blonde like those that came before him. And even if he did, can you imagine a Saiyan; who has locked such primal rage and anger suddenly busting out? I’m more worried if he will even remain the same person as he used to be, or be permanently transformed into someone else. Someone that we will honestly not like.”
King Kai gave several nods in response in agreement to Gregory’s worried explanation with true factors to play. “I know that, but we can’t take the chance. We need to hold out just a little longer until I honestly think he is good and ready to be told what’s going down on the Planet, then we’ll push him to the point of the transformation. I just only hope that somehow, someway, we will be able to unlock the power. For now, it’s best we keep this quiet until that happens and hopefully no one else dies on the planet.”
“No one else what?”
In that instant, King Kai, Gregory and Bubbles jumped in a state of panic to see Callion right behind them, falling over the table in a state of panic. “Damnit Callion! Don’t jump behind us like that! I want to see you perform one thousand fast laps on foot around the planet!”
“B-But King Kai!”
“Two Thousand!”
“WHAT!? BUT I-“
“Anymore lip Callion and I am going to up the number to ten-thousand with no food!”
With that panic in his mind, the Saiyan Monk had forgotten what he wanted to ask about what King Kai and the others were talking about and immediately followed suit with the training punishment and began a mad dash across King Kai’s planet on foot. The Trio let out a sigh of relief, happy to hear that they bought themselves some time…
