DidgeridooPL: 3,809 Penguin Village 9:54 PM, WednesdayWC: 806 | Tag(s): Nosuke Simply put, Didgeridoo was a man of opportunity. He'd heard rumblings from his time on Earth that there was a land of barbarians who smacked rocks together aimlessly and spoke in grunts - an offshoot of the population who never quite got a grasp on the humans' natural intellect. He figured if he could find those people, he could bring something with him that would change his status overnight. It was a golden opportunity, all he had to do was find the location of these barbarians. Through his research and explorations, Didgeridoo learned of the fabled Penguin Village. They weren't far from the ever popular East City, but they certainly weren't close enough to be a part of the sprawling metropolis. Whenever he'd asked cityfolk about the people of Penguin Village, Didgeri only grew more certain that was it: the home of the barbarians. Ignoring the biased, and relatively uneducated, aspects of their opinions, Didgeridoo set up a perfect scheme to become a godlike figure to the villagers. That night, Didgeridoo made his arrival. He showed up at the village outskirts with a large barrel and a bag full of various technological advancements in one hand. Sewing machines, telephones, personal computers, those types of things. Along with his barrel and bag, Didgeridoo brought a sign that read 'Goodbye Stone Age, Hello Industrialization!!' Didgeridoo stuck the sign in the back of his shirt, causing it to wave behind him like a flag. In his opposite hand, Didgeri held an old-fashioned lantern to help illuminate the area around him. When he marched through the main path of the village, Didgeridoo played some kind of modern pop music through a loud speaker, shattering any peace that the villagers may have been used to in the middle of the week. Hearing the obnoxious music brought a lot of villagers out to see what all the commotion was about, which was where they saw the Namekian making a fool of himself. He stopped when he reached what he believed to be the center of the village, where he dropped his bag and planted his sign in the dirt. He also popped the lid off the barrel to reveal what he had hauled along with him. Inside, various bladed weapons glistened in the lantern light. Didgeri pulled a few of the technological items out of his bag and set them up around him, as if to showcase them to the on-lookers, before taking a deep breath and smiling at the people around him. "Good evening, Penguin Village!" Didgeridoo declared, speaking slowly as if he was addressing a crowd of babies or puppies, "My name is Didgeridoo. I know that name is four syllables, so you may call me Doo if that's easier for your simple minds to handle,"Someone opened their mouth to speak, but Didgeri interrupted, "Feel free to come down and see what you've been missing out on. I may be relatively new to Earth, but even I am familiar with the advancements humans have made in recent years. If anything, I actually feel bad for you all,"The first villager to take the bait was a youngster. It was a child, no older than four or five, who broke away from his parents clutches and ran up to examine Didgeridoo's wares. The boy stared at a pristine silver blade in the barrel in awe, as if he'd never seen something of the sort. Didgeridoo knelt down next to the barrel and pressed, "You want the sword? I'll tell you what, if you can bring me something valuable, it's yours," This seemed to excite the boy, who ran back to his house to find something to give. He tried to be vague to invite as many offerings as possible. It was unlikely a barbaric tribe like this had any type of valuable human money in their possession, so he needed some kind of compensation. After all, that was the reason for this entire expedition. Before long, the boy had returned with some kind of handmade vase. It had intricate designs and seemed important, which was good enough for Didgeridoo. He shrugged and withdrew the sword from the barrel. He swung it a few times, then spun it around and handed the sword to the boy hilt first, "Thank you for your generosity,"Sword in-hand, the boy ran back to his parents excitedly to show off what he'd gotten from the nice Namekian. Seeing a transaction go over smoothly, a few other villagers tried their luck, bringing various offerings before the benevolent technology-wizard. Didgeridoo basked in his slowly growing collection of valuables, most of which were mostly family heirlooms and undoubtedly less valuable than the weapons and tech he was giving away. Still, Didgeri loved collecting bits and bobs, and the barbarians of Penguin Village had plenty to offer. Keep 'em coming!

he watercolor sky and quieting of artificial sounds were symbolic of another day of hard work coming to a close. Nosuke often spent his sunsets sitting on his rooftop, meditating in the fleeting rays of daylight. He liked to ride out the sunset for as long as possible, until the pink sky faded to a navy blue. Cicadas giving way to crickets were his usual cue to hop down and turn in for the night. Except tonight, things were a little different.
The final gradient of sunlight danced on the horizon when a heightened power level caught his attention. With the commoners of Penguin Village being ordinary people, this particular power level stood out like a beacon. Nosuke rose to his full height and peered down at the village center, where he was able to notice an odd-looking man amongst the rest of the villagers. He was too far to tell what exactly was going on, but based on the visitor's power, it may not have been pleasant.
Curious, Nosuke went to investigate. He hopped through the hole in his roof, grabbed his cloak, and made his way down to the village to see what all the fuss was about. Shrouded by darkness and his cloak, Nosuke shifted through the gathered crowd until he'd reached the front. Just about every villager had surrounded a green humanoid creature who seemed lost and confused.
The alien boasted about humans' recent advancements in technology, then paraded around swords and spears alongside televisions and computers. In fact, it seemed like he thought the people of Penguin Village were effectively cavemen, with very little ingenuity because of their reputation. Nosuke knew they were out in the sticks, but the villagers had definitely made it out of the stone age, at least.
Nosuke would have had no problem with the alien if he hadn't been taking things in return. Behind the green man, a box full of various family relics and rarities had been carefully organized and stowed away. The villagers were being taken advantage of by some foreigner who thought nothing of them, and Nosuke was not going to stand for it. He emerged from the crowd and approached the barrel of the weapons calmly, where he withdrew a two-handed greatsword. In one fluid motion, he swung the sword at the back of Didgeridoo's neck, prompting a series of gasps and cries from the crowd. ISHY of THQ & ADOXOGRAPHY

Through the first leg of his plan, things were going smoothly. A lot smoother than they had in West City, where the people were more intelligent and civilized. Here in prehistoric land, the people were a lot more willing to give up their goods. To their credit, he was offering 'real', useful items that they may be able to use to help reach modern times, rather than giving them a fake Namekian blessing, but the point stood. Gaming Penguin Village was much easier than gaming West City.
Every now and then, a village elder or some skeptical villager would question his purpose and the validity of his wares, but Didgeridoo was easily able to dismiss them. Silly questions get silly answers! Why would he have to stoop to their childlike and unintentionally ignorant level just to make a point? No, he just continued giving away his pieces of modernity and taking their fine china and family heirlooms for his collection.
Somehow, the longer he stood out in the village collecting items, the more people seemed to appear. It was almost as if word-of-mouth was bringing more people out of their dirt huts and caves - it certainly wasn't on a news broadcast or delivered to them by instant message. Perhaps some kind of carrier pigeons had flown overhead unnoticed, which may have actually been the case. There was just no way this many people could have been summoned, with goods to trade, by only word-of-mouth.
Didgeridoo couldn't help but smile and chuckle to himself, especially when he took a look at his overall loot so far. It was quite literally like taking candy from babies. The villagers seemed to be eating the goods he was providing up, and all he had to do was promote it like it meant something. It wasn't like they'd understand the televisions were picked out of the junkyard and cleaned up to look presentable, or that the swords, spears, maces, and war hammers were all replicas that he'd 'borrowed' from a local production company in East City. As far as the villagers were concerned, Didgeridoo was just a generous trader, helping to guide them into the light of modern day society. Having broken versions of these appliances and tools may actually inspire some of the villagers to go out and get the real deals for themselves. So, really, Didgeridoo was doing the village a favor.
While he interacted with one of the villagers, explaining the value of a toaster and all the marvelous things it could do, he felt a soft thunk at the back of his neck. Didgeridoo reached up and rubbed his nape, then turned to see what had just hit him. It was one of his swords, which bounced harmlessly off his skin due to its fake nature. He got ready to chastise the wielder for being so careless, but then he got a look at the man. His face was covered by shadows and an ominous black cloak, but a lone eye shone a bright blue. Didgeri yelped and took a few steps back, not expecting to see such a sight staring back at him.
"You may have that one, mysterious creature of the night," He yielded, not willing to go toe to toe with whatever was staring back at him. It had a somewhat formidable power, at least relative to the rest of the villagers, and Didgeridoo hated fighting, so a peaceful resolution was in his best interest.

y some miracle, the namekian had mistaken the innate kindheartedness of Penguin Village for stupidity and a lack of awareness. He treated the people as if they were sub-human or some kind of laboratory experiment. Cavemen resurrected in modern times. Most of the villagers had left their homes simply to see what the commotion was about so late in the evening, especially since outsiders in the area were uncommon, to say the least. Some of them even looked at the namekian in sorrow. They thought he was lost, confused, and needed help. Him giving away goods in the street in exchange for useless items such as washcloths and vases simply did not make sense to them, not because they were misfortunate, unevolved heathens, but because they were trying to help him.
So when Nosuke smacked the ever-so-kind namekian in the back of the head with his plastic prop sword, the crowd was in shock. A few villagers even started to catch on to the scheme he was running. Everything about the alien's act of charity was a sham, down to the premise itself. Nosuke didn't know whether or not their guest truly believed Penguin Village was as far behind technologically as he thought because, quite frankly, it was hard to believe anything about the namekian. He was nothing more than a scam artist at work.
Nosuke twirled the greatsword in one hand, proving just how light it was. Then he held it towards his adversary, allowing the unkeen blade's point to nearly graze his nose (not that it would matter anyway). With a greatsword's length separating the two, Nosuke felt comfortable speaking.
"Leave. Take your toys with you."
He kept his cloak up and his features masked, hoping to avoid revealing himself at all. Most, if not all, of the villagers were familiar with his true identity. The only one unaware would be the namekian. So far, the green-skinned intruder had shown no malice or violence towards anybody, but Nosuke knew better than to let his guard down. If he was willing to deceive and trick innocent villagers, who knew what else he had up his sleeve. ISHY of THQ & ADOXOGRAPHY

Penguin Village was supposed to be full of mindless beasts parading around as a civilized people, but something about this new guy seemed a like he had a little more to him than that. His nonchalant nature and shadowy figure only made him more intimidating, especially to a con artist like Didgeridoo. This guy, holding him at plastic sword point, was everything that Didgeri wanted to avoid when running one of his schemes. In fact, he'd even had a few similar schemes fall through in the bigger cities because of people who weren't afraid to call him out on his tricks.
With his back against the wall, Didgeridoo only had two options: fight or flee. Turning tail and running was definitely the easiest option, but he'd seen a few things given to him that he actually wanted to bring back to his collection, so it was almost impossible for him to give up so easily. He needed to fight back, but physical violence was never going to work. Even if there was a power discrepancy in Didgeri's favor, the guy standing in front of him gave off a more experienced vibe in terms of combative skill and prowess. If push came to shove, the Namekian stood little to no chance.
Instead, Didgeridoo went with an option more in line with who he was. Sword point still at his nose, he looked back at the beast directly at his one glowing eye, where he smiled and proclaimed, "This man in front of me, ladies and gentleman, is what we call a thief. A scam artist," Didgeri broke eye contact and began pacing around the circle that had gathered to either donate or watch the show, "He is trying to trick each and every one of you into thinking I'm the bad guy. Why? You think he cares about protecting you? No! He just wants to take them all for himself, without providing anything in return! I gave you gifts and power. He hasn't,"
He carefully perused through his weapons barrel until he'd found something for himself, a battle axe that was almost as tall as he was. Didgeri slung it over his shoulder and continued, "I have shown you my face, been kind and cordial, and even told you my name!"
"No you haven't," Someone countered from the crowd.
"Didgeridoo - yes - I have. Second time," He smiled at the people to further gain their trust. Finally, he stopped pacing when he had returned to his original spot. From there, he gave an unsatisfied look at the enemy and grumbled, "This guy hasn't even shown his face. Who are you gonna trust? Me? Didgeri? Your friend? Or some monster?"
