Of course, Pran had to try and chirp the Demon-Saiyan by repeating his statement about hitting him and he'll find out. While THIS statement alone was rather amusing to Athren, it was even more amusing to have him silence himself half way through his statement. The best part about it all too, was that Athren wasn't even trying here. Even if he had found himself in his Super Saiyan form, he was holding back drastically. He wasn't here trying to hurt Pran seriously, he wasn't trying to do any real damage. He was simply trying to put things into perspective for the Earthling warrior. Pran might've had endless potential but he still had a long way to go before he was capable of defending the Earth. Athren couldn't help but respect the fact that Pran kept getting back up, if this trait was something he kept with him at all times there was a good chance he'd be a very valuable asset on the battlefield. He didn't seem to want to quit, even when the odds were stacked against him. While Athren was impressed, he was going to push this theory further to see if Pran would keep doing this no matter the level of power. He wanted Pran to experience this now instead of later, he wanted Pran to keep rising up against all odds. Right now it was a test but against something like Liari or somebody more powerful, it could be the planet at stake. Athren would once again cross his arms as Pran started talking again, it would appear that this was a very important subject for him. "You're contradicting yourself, you say I'm reactive yet admit that I sit in my village training day in and day out waiting for the next disaster to happen. I wouldn't say I'm reacting at all if I'm getting prepared for the next big fight to come. I'd also say I'm not welcoming the next big fight, I'm not eager for it because I know that anybody who makes me fight is a danger to the planet and that puts a lot of lives at risk, I'm just making sure I'm ready because it's inevitable. "Pran would carry on, going on about how if Athren's wrong that they could end the fight for good. It was a case of that if everybody could find peace and get along that there wouldn't be a need to fight, or at least that's how Athren was understanding these words. While for Pran and maybe the entire race of Earthlings this would've been the best case scenario, Athren knew that this just wasn't something that was ever going to be possible. It didn't matter how many conversations were had or how many meetings, as long as there was opposing views there would always be conflict. He had also suggested that a lot of what Athren had been doing was to feed his pride. This was something that Pran had gotten all wrong. While he was a warrior and did things in the warrior way, he remained on Earth for his children alone, the village and his people had just been a byproduct of all of that. His pride wasn't the center of attention anymore. While his pride remained and had it's moments to shine, his children were his driving factor for most of what he did now.
"You believe all the good I do is to feed my own pride? If you think that, I must say you are a fool." Athren paused as he watched Pran's mass increase as his body became more cut. It was evident that he was trying to amp it up to compete with the Super Saiyan transformation that was before him. Athren couldn't help but smirk as he clenched his fists and began to power up further, the ship starting to shake as Athren began to bring his Super Saiyan Two form out of himself. This form hadn't yet been perfected, it was something Athren still had to bring out of him the old fashioned way. "You really think you can end the fight for good by talking? Tell me Pran, have you traveled the universe? Have you heard about any of the races or factions that thrive off of slavery and death? They're murderous conquerors, who will stop at nothing to take full control of your planet and harvest it dry for all it's resources. You just expect to talk your way to peace with them when you can't even sort out your own planet? I've seen it, I've seen the crime on the streets. Your people murder, steal, do anything they can to benefit themselves and yet you're naive enough to think you can solve a bigger threat with any other way than fighting?" While Athren was aware that a vast majority of the Earthlings were peaceful and there was a minority of those who actually pursued a life of crime, it was still an issue that was present of Earth. It was a silly thought in Athren's opinion that Pran believe in another way when the Earth couldn't even sort out it's own problems. This was something that was always going to be present. It didn't matter how big the crime or threat, they would ALWAYS be present. Athren's energy would've started to increase further, as lighting started to jolt around his aura. His ship shaking even more violently now as Athren was tapping into his Super Saiyan Two form and about to bring it to the surface. When finally, his power exploded into a calm yet massive power. The ship was no longer shaking as his aura flared more aggressively, his hair spiked further as he glanced at Pran coldly, letting him embrace the transformation and acknowledge the words that had just been spoken. He seemed young and naive. Hopefully, he'd begin to understand the full extent of the universe. Earth had it's issues, they had been quite minor in comparison to what was going on in the universe and the Earth couldn't even contain it.

As Athren powered up even further in response, unleashing untold power, Pran smirked.
Man, this guy is nuts. I wonder if everyone on Planet Vegeta is like this...
Considering where this conversation going, the next attack the saiyan through at him was going to be a doozy. There was no way around it. Meanwhile, Pran could feel his body shaking from the power that flowed through his body. He didn't have enough in him to kick it up a notch, but it didn't matter. He was going to have to find a way to deal with this ascended form head-on. But that was okay, he welcomed the challenge.
As Athren talked... a lot of shit about Earth and the humans, but Pran could only shake his head in response.
"You're not getting it! Hear me out on this one!"
He walked toward him, unfazed by the saiyan's attempt to flex on him with super cool lightning, his glowing, flowing hair, and his crazy fiery aura and.... ANYWAYS. "I'm not against violence, sometimes you just gotta whoop somebody's ass. What I'm SAYING is that we could be doing more. A lot more. It could involve talking, it might not, I have no idea. But one thing's for sure: Fighting endlessly isn't going to do anything. Training isn't being proactive. In fact, with what you just said, it's playing right into the cycle. Train until you have to fight, and fight so you can train again."
He stopped in front of Athren, looking him in the eyes. While the warrior's were filled with coldness and malice, Pran's were filled with aspiration, hope, and unyielding determination.
"I'm not talking about any one planet, civilization, faction, or any of that. I'm saying all of us can do more. We can be better, together. We don't have to sit here and accept that some random warlord is just going to show up one day and ruin our lives. We don't have to steal and murder from each other, just like we don't have to sit here and train every day like a madman because we're too paranoid that the next Liari, the next Zaks, the next whoever is going to show up and strip it all away. We can be beyond that, we owe it to ourselves to try.
The scientists on TV say that the natural state of the universe is disorder, if we just let things be the way they are, we're all screwed. Now, I'm gonna be honest. I have absolutely NO idea how something like that would be done. You're right, I haven't been around the universe. I haven't seen all there is to see. There's probably stuff going on out there that I can't even comprehend even if I was looking at it with my own eyes! But that doesn't change the fact that nothing's written. Fate, destiny, and all that stuff is a lie. The only thing guaranteed in this world is death.
It's a big universe and we all live in it. If we try hard enough, we can change the very nature of it. We just have to choose to."

With his now glowing aura of his super saiyan two transformation, the room was more tense than ever before. Even if Pran had only acknowledge such power with the simplest of smirks. He didn't know what he was in for when the attack would finally be launched and headed right for him. It was likely that it'd even be an end to this little sparring session and when it did arrive, hopefully it would give the young earthling on perspective of what he could be dealing with in the future. If anybody had come to Earth who was stronger than this, it was going to put the Earth through hell and there wasn't any other way to think about it. Each fighter had to be ready, Athren, Pran, Gemikai and hopefully Callion would make a return by then. While Athren stepped up in the meantime, this was never a role that he wanted to take. "You're not getting it." Athren paused for a brief moment before firing more words towards Pran. "More can only be done if all parties are in an agreement and what you're failing to understand is that the powers that are out in the universe WILL NOT want the same outcome as you. They couldn't care about your thoughts, your opinions or your freedom, they only care to serve themselves, to have the ultimate power, to thrive off the suffering of others. You can dream these childish dreams all day but the only way to neutralize the threat is to put them in the ground. There's nothing more and nothing less that can be done when all they want is to exploit your planet, drain it of all life to achieve their own goals."Pran went on and continued about how he wasn't talking about one specific people or faction. He was just making a blanket statement that everybody could do more but it was falling on deaf ears. The only way any idea like that would work was if everybody was seeking the same thing. There was already one known faction that Athren KNEW would be resistant. The PTO would literally laugh in their faces, the Cerealians were brought to near extinction by the saiyans, they wouldn't fall in line and just call it a day. Every planet had it's own motivations and a majority of them wanted to benefit themselves. While they all weren't necessarily evil, they all had to look after themselves before looking after the rest of the universe. It simply was the way it was, there was no changing it. No matter how big you dreamed, it just wasn't possible. Though at the mention of Liari and the Queen of the saiyans, Athren couldn't help but snicker. It was almost a point debating his points.
"You want to know the reason Liari was attacking Earth? She was bored! Upset that she had gone unnoticed by powerful warriors for so long. The amount of damage, the lives lost were all for nothing! Her attacks were nothing more than a childish game to her and you think you can reason with that? To come to a conclusion where everybody can just run off and be friends!? It doesn't work like that, not anywhere in this universe! The ONLY way that was ever going to end was to put her in the ground."
In a way, Pran's opinions were pure and Athren wasn't angry about them at all. They simply didn't see each others viewpoints which was understandable. Pran came from a completely different lifestyle and remained on one planet for his whole life, or at least Athren assumed. He didn't see the horrors of the universe, he didn't hop planets to do the bidding of others and see what true evil was really out there. Athren himself walked that line, whether he'd admit it or not, he had done some very evil things before he got his children killed. If it hadn't been for Pybara, Athren might've still been walking that path. Regardless of all that though, there was only one way to assure the planets survival and that was to be prepared. "Whether you'll accept it or not, there's ALWAYS going to be those like Liari out in the universe. You either stop them, or you die trying. There is no alternative option." Whether Pran would get it or not, Athren still doubted but he couldn't be that naive to live in his fairytale dream, could he? MAYBE, to an extent there could be peace towards multiple planets but there were individuals with incredible power out there that could change the dynamic of the universe with the snap of their fingers. That's why you needed to train, that's why you always needed to be prepared. Athren knew that it was only a matter of time until something like that showed up again.

"Dude, I already said I'd whoop a body's ass if I had to, I don't why you keep bringing up these extreme scenarios where I would obviously have no choice but to fight. I get that you only know combat, so I guess it's a little much to get you to understand the concept of NOT punching someone in the face, but you keep saying that I have no choice but to run around putting everyone in the ground, but the reality is not every psycho is Liari. And besides, it's not like these guys pop out of nowhere. There has to be some kind of cause. Even with the Planet Trade Organization, Frost was on our side until something happened and now it got taken over by the PTO.
If you move a group of people to a more peaceful and understanding way of life, even if not everyone is on board, the likelihood of some random unhinged lunatic popping up gets less and less anyways. Isn't that the point? To fight not just to keep fighting, but fight so that one day you can end the fight? So that no one has to worry about some random evil faction threatening the safety of the entire world and we can finally go home?!
You might accept the universe for the death trap that it is, but I don't. I choose to believe there is a path to a better world."Pran had gotten ahead of himself, and his body was paying the price. His muscles were gradually beginning to fail now, the next attack he launched would likely be his last. Realizing this, he backward dashed back to the side of the room. His energy began to grow even larger. He had REALLY planned on not doing this, but he had passion flowing through his veins now. And considering that Athren had unleashed a form he had never seen or felt before, anything less than his maximum was going to get completely blown through. And he still wanted to know what Athren fought for.
A white aura began to envelop his entire body as Pran was pumping it full of Yuki in addition to Genki. He could feel his muscles shaking slightly as it was barely hanging on. The white energy he was focusing caused the entire room to light up to the degree where it was almost blinding. Looking back at the saiyan in front of him, Pran would say his final words before he launched his most powerful attack. "Call it childish if you want, but everything that happens in this world was once someone's dream!" He began to charge an attack in his right hand. A red sphere of ki formed around it and began to become so condensed with energy that black lightning began to surround it. His legs as he began to buckle as he could hardly stay standing. Pushing his body to its absolute limits so that he could show him just how strong his will was. It took total concentration to not lose this attack, one slip-up, and this whole blast would explode right in his face! Oh man, I've done it this time. I don't know if I can hold it-!
"Tch- Grr... Come on....!"
The blast he was charging began to wildly lash out at random. Bursts of energy would shoot out periodically in a random direction as Pran struggled to maintain its stability. Sweat began to beat down his head as he gritted his teeth, tensing every muscle in his body as he tried to contain as much as he could. The sphere had transformed into more of an amorphous shape, blatantly signaling its imminent collapse. Minor fractures and muscle tears ran up his entire right arm as they were overburdened with too much stress. Oh man, what am I supposed to do? What would Dad do, think Pran, think!
Breathe, Pran, Breathe. You're not taking a shit, haha! You're using energy. If you try too hard to force it to do what it just doesn't want to, it's going to pop. As if on cue, the voice from a distant memory called out to him. His voice. One of the many pieces of advice that were given to Pran over his entire life training with him and his mom. You're too worried about being hurt, but your ki comes from you! Part of you is in it! It probably doesn't wanna kill you either. All it wants is to be released. Let it flow, bud! Let it OUT! Pran's face full of frustration turned into that of confidence, a BIG WIDE SMILE forming on his face as he looked up from his attack back at Athren. Alright, Dad, I'll try your way! On the count of three. One, two... Pran relaxed his body, outstretching his energy-filled hand out toward him. The energy shape began to get bigger and bigger, becoming three times the size it originally was! His body could no longer control its output, so Pran wasn't going to try. He would let ALL of his energy flow, and instead do his best to aim it! Three!
"HERE GOES, HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Letting it all out, the white in the room was COMPLETELY DROWNED OUT by the RED as he fired his DESTINY SHOT! The LARGE ENERGY BLAST was headed straight towards Athren, covering a wide range!!! WC: 898 TWC: 7,261

Why did he keep bringing up the extreme scenarios? Well that one was very simple to answer. The extreme situations were the ones you had to be prepared for, they might've been very rare but that didn't change a thing. Those rare occurences were more than enough to wipe out a planet or it's entire population if you weren't prepared for it. That's what he needed to get across. Athren didn't view most people as a threat and therefore, he didn't exactly find the need to kill all enemies. He was on another level and most trouble makers could be easily knocked out with a single blow from him. Those people would have few chances to get their shit together and straighten out but when the entire planet was at stake and there was no other option, it came down to who was more prepared.
"The extreme situations are the ones you have to be prepared for, You really think I plan to just erase everybody who causes trouble? You think I'll fly down your streets and kill somebody over petty thievery? Those don't matter, the little things are insignificant to the role I play. Your laws have a part to play and if the threat is weaker than I, they'll have few chances to straighten themselves out but there comes a time when enough is enough."
When Pran mentioned that these guys don't pop out of nowhere, he couldn't help but shake his head. They would most likely show up out of the blue an unexpected. Most of Athren's work was just like that, he went in fast and swift and did what needed to be done. There was no preparation for the opposition, there was only death. Orange City was the perfect example, while Athren may have been on the planet for a few months, nobody had seen that attack coming and nobody was prepared for it.
"Just because there's a cause doesn't mean they won't just appear, You'd be surprised how fast a planet can fall. You think anybody saw the Orange City attack coming? Hell, even Liari's first attack or the attack done by the saiyans, they had all been a surprise and few had been prepared. Liari got away with so much before I put an end to her and that was because nobody was prepared. It isn't about one lunatic, it's about the ones with goals, with plans. Those are the people you need to worry about. Those who just decide to adapt and fall in line are typically a non-issue. "
He still refused to see the universe for the death trap that it was but he'd learn soon enough. It was only a matter of time until the Earth was in a dire position again. Whether it be from somebody already on Planet or somebody else, the clock was ticking. Whether it took a month or a year, Athren knew it was on it's way. After all, he was hired by the PTO to wipe out forces on the planet for a reason and it was only a matter of time until they revealed their hand and made a push towards their goals. He had to be ready, so did the others.
With a white aura surrounding Pran, Athren was forced to turn his head and bring a hand up to shield his eyes. Whatever he was doing, it was bright and quite close to blinding. It was in this moment that Pran's power increased and he was going for an attack. It took some time to charge but the red quickly consumed the white and Athren took focus on the attack that was being prepared. It's power was impressive and Pran was displaying far more power than Athren thought he was capable of. Athren couldn't help but get a confident smirk to match Prans.
Though there was ONE concern here, at that was the ship. While it was designed to be able to take blasts within the gravity chamber, this one might've been a little bit much. He knew he'd have to contain it and he still had the advantage of being stronger. As the blast got fired Athren lifted up both of his hands in front of him, he then created a LARGE Ki barrier that went left to right and completely sealed off this side of the ship. His hopes were that it would be more than enough to handle it.
Athren had made sure to put enough power into it but he needed to remain focused when the blast collided, while he didn't need to vocalize efforts he was put under stress and grunting. Though for the entire duration of the attack the shield had held up and kept him and his ship safe.
"Heh.. That one wasn't half bad."
Of course Athren wouldn't give it the full credit it deserved. For Pran's level of fighter, that one would've been very tricky. IF Pran had been on Athren's level or Athren on Pran's, this fight might've been over right there. Luckily though, Athren was prepared for it like he had been nearly anything else. His training was paying off and he remained confident in his abilities. While Pran still had some work to do, he was a very dangerous fighter with his power, Athren just believe that he needed to shift his mindset and take it much more seriously.

"WOOOOoooo, boy!"
Pran fell back on his rear end, his energy completely dissipating as he returned back into his base form. He was completely wiped out, sweat beating down his head as a cloud of smoke was in front of him. As he heard Athren's voice come through it as it cleared, he realized that he was practically unharmed due to the energy shield that was in front of him. The sight was a little defeating, to say the least, considering that he put everything he had into that attack. Then again, it might've been foolish to expect anything less. After all, this is one of the people who went toe to toe with Liari.
"Man... That's gotta be cheating somehow!" He jokingly whined, an excited smile on his face. Despite their ideological differences, this spar did end up being pretty entertaining. He still had a long way to go, but he at least could see the light at the end of the tunnel. He laid backward on his back, letting his body relax. As he did so, he could already hear the chastising from his parents. "To recover, you're supposed to stand up straight and breathe in your nose and out your mouth!" Except, Pran couldn't even stand at all. At least not on his own.
"You really are one tough cookie, but don't worry, I'll catch up... probably. Nah, nah, I will. Yeah..." He added, feeling his arm ache. No doubt about it, if he even moved his arm a LITTLE wrong, there was going to be a lot of pain. Yeah, his mom was definitely going to kill him for being so reckless in a sparring match. Maybe he could sneak it past her when he got home. Right now, though, he was HUNGRY.
"Hey uh, can we just agree to disagree for now? I'm STARVING. You got any food around here? If you don't mind, anyways."

After dealing with Pran's attack Athren had a moment to watch Pran fall back and take a seat. It was obvious that he was completely done here, wiped out with no more energy left to dish out anything more. While the two of them had a very different mindset on how to approach the future and keep the Earth safe, the kid had heart, he had power and he had an endless potential that Athren wanted to see come to the surface. Athren had been able to sense that he might even have more potential than Athren and that Pran may very well be up to his level sooner rather than later, he was just going to need to keep working towards it.
"It was a fairly impressive attack, I'll give you that." Athren couldn't help but shrug his shoulders and send another little sly comment towards Pran. Athren had thought up that technique while he was preparing, he hadn't faced anything that required it before but he figured that now that there were others fighting around him and he had people he wanted to protect, why not make a shield he can use to protect those around him, even if they're at a distance? It was all part of the preparations. "Unfortunately for you though, I was more than prepared for it."
With Pran confident that some day he'd catch up, Athren just shook his head. While he saw it possible, he wasn't going to give Pran that verbal win. That just wasn't going to be something that happened. He wanted Pran to keep pushing to chase that goal and what better to motivate him than for Athren to address he had every intention of staying on the top, of being the stronger and better fighter? That's what Athren called motivation.
"You've got a long way to go before you catch up to me, It's not like I'm just going to be sitting around waiting to let it happen either." While Athren was slacking off lately due to the duties of his village, he was finding himself getting back into training more frequently. It was just a matter of time until his village had full of people willing to step up and take more of a prominent role and when that time came, Athren would find himself back in his gravity every day, or maybe he'd find alternatives. He knew the gravity was wearing off, but what else was there?
With the question of food in mind, there was more than enough to go around. With Athren's Magic Materialization technique, there really wasn't much of anything that they didn't have access too. While Athren wasn't really feeling overly hungry, he could eat but he knew that Pran MUST'VE been starving. It was at this point Athren reverted back down to his base form and made his way to the door of the room to lead him out. "Follow me, there's plenty of food to go around." At this point, Athren would've led him to his main hall in his room where there was plenty of food to feed the entire village.
